Stealing Isn’t Fun If You Don’t Get Caught (SKULD)

“I don’t need anything, really.” Ophelia said. She honestly did not need a thing. She had everything one could ever want. She had all the right homes. She had all the right cars. She had all the right bank accounts. A boat, luxury items galore and more. There was nothing materialistic that she needed. Sure she wanted things but she took them herself. And if this demon got the things she wanted then there would be no fun. Because more than half the fun was taking things!

“But I have to admit, I’m curious – About demons.” She wanted to know everything from how to kill a demon to what demons ate. Did they drink blood, eat souls? How did they come to be here – And more. What was it like being a demon? And why were they so annoying? Of course Ophelia had only met two. But was it normal to end up meeting so many demons? “Tell me about yourself. And this counts for one of the days!” she grinned sticking her tongue out.

Skuld figured she was telling him the truth about not needed anything. She was a thief, and if she didn’t have anything she could always steal it. Skuld preferred to but what he wanted, he could steal, it would be very easy too, but it was apparently a bad thing. Sure Skuld was a demon, and he liked to be bad, but being good also was fun. Sort of….well it was when people did not expect it to come from a demon. Plus it might come in handy if he ever had to deal with an Angel. They might spare him seeing the good that lies deep within him….or not really care and kill him anyway. No hard feeling, it was their job to kill him, and his job to collect souls.

Then Ophelia said she was curious about demons and Skuld’s interests level with her increased. ‘Amazing how she is so calm about this’ Skuld thought to himself thinking about the last person that summoned him and how they were all afraid the whole time they were making an agreement, then they tried to back out of it, and Skuld ended him. It was rude enough to summon a demon, tell him what you wanted to be done, and then change your mind. Skuld was not even sure what to say or tell her about his kind. Was it even safe to, would he get in trouble? Most likely not, he could always go back to the demon world if problems arose and just wait for the people who knew about him to die out.

Skuld smiled at how Ophelia said it would count as one of their days together. Skuld could not say it did not, they had already made the agreement and he did not say she could not start today. He always found it amazing at how some humans were able to find loop holes in everything. Demon would make sure there were loop holes, to make things more interesting, but people didn’t often think like that. “Sure, but make yourself comfortable.” Skuld said as he sat down on his bed. He didn’t really want to talk to her standing the whole time. “Hmm, were to begin. I’m a demon of royal birth, like a prince.” Skuld said looking to see how she reacted to that. Most ladies would go head over heels for a prince.

"What about you?" Skuld said not wanting to be the only one having to answer questions. She didn't have to, but it would have been nice to know. Plus he might even find out about the other demon. Skuld didn't want to kill the demon or anything. What if he knew about Skuld's siblings, that would be a big help.

“I am as comfortable as I can be sitting on this chair.” Ophelia only said that because she thought that maybe she would get to see the demon conjure something up like a couch or other tables, something, anything. She crossed her legs as she put down her bag by her left foot. She waited patiently. Was she going to be here for twenty-four hours? She instantly regretted saying that today counted. But she seemed like she did have a royal flush and him a hand full of two’s. It wasn’t as if she knew demon contracts, but she had already spotted one loophole. Did all demon contracts have loopholes? – Or was this just a guise to get her to make a contract with riskier odds?

Ophelia turned her head and just stared at Skuld when he said, ‘like a Prince’. But like a Prince did not mean he was a Prince. She was startled though. When people mentioned that the other person in the room was royalty you were usually calculating all the ways possible to get them to notice you, to smile at you, to talk to you, to want you. You wanted to be with royalty because you wanted to be royal. Ophelia would have to admit she did fancy Prince Edward of the British Royal Family. And she did have to admit a lot of jealousy over the maid who married the rich oil Prince Billionaire – A lot of jealousy there!

“I’m not a Prince.” She coyously stated back, a half grin on her face. She didn’t want to talk about herself. And what would she say? There was nothing interesting to talk about. There wasn’t a murdered parent with a knife sticking out of their back. No jail time. No legal worries.

Skuld let out a sigh when she said she was not a prince. That was obvious, well Skuld hoped it was true. It would be weird to be totally thinking someone was hot, and you find out that they were a guy. Skuld liked women, it didn't matter who they were or what they were. If they were female, it was alright by him. Plus it would have been really weird if a guy looked that much like a female and a hot one at that. Then again, she did know another demon, and who was to say that she didn't ask for a really good sex change. Along with pretending to be a female and not knowing about demons. That was a very unlikely possibility and Skuld blamed TV once more.

'What other questions do people ask about demons?' Skuld asked himself but came up with just stupid things, but stupid things could have been a start. Really he was at a loss on what to do, and he was not even sure if she liked this being one of her days. It was no fun when people didn't want to participate with you. "I think I can eat just about anything that is not holy." Skuld said remembering that was one persons question before. He laid back on his bed and then looked back out his broken window. Time would soon come to an end and he wanted to make sure she was long gone before he left.

He trusted she would not steal from him, but he didn't want her to know about how demons had to go back to Hell in the morning. "If you won't talk to me, then we can pick this up next time." Skuld said not in a rude way, but more of a hurt way. Well, pretending to be hurt. Acting like he didn't want to force her to be here if it was so painful for her to interact with him. Really he would love to force her to stay, lock her away until he came back for the next night. That would not be a safe thing to do, and would make her hate him. Not that her hating him was a bad thing, but it was not a good thing. He just wanted a nice little human to talk to that he was interested in.

Ophelia couldn’t help but release this low long girlish giggle. She couldn’t help it. When Skuld sighed she thought that he was thinking of her with a man part. She already discovered that the only word in his discovery in the English language was ‘hot’ not cute or beautiful or ravishing (which was actually a good thing because it might meant that he would want to actually eat her and who knew what demons ate!) or exquisite, the words could go on and so forth. She giggled because Skuld was probably imagining her with a man part and she was imagining herself with a man part. There was this type of rare woman with a man part and no female organs.

“Wow.” Ophelia said trying to fight the sarcasm. She repeated back to him, “You can eat just about anything that is not holy.” Of course she was thinking about him eating and she was frightened that perhaps he actually could read minds and that he was lying. “If I bless myself right now and…” she stopped. “Never mind.” She did not want to start down that trail. Besides, it wasn’t like she could actually bless herself. She knew some holy things to say from TV and books that she had purchased and ended up weighing heavily into religious themes but that was it.

“Alright.” Ophelia said noticing that he sounded hurt. She was not to caring about others feelings. “Though since you wanted to end this session early this has to count as a complete day.” She offered up a cute smile. It was like going to the psychiatrist and starting to make a real breakthrough after three years and having the psychiatrist say “sorry our time is up” only to then realize the psychiatrist doesn’t really give a damn about you. Skuld was confused on what she meant by if she blessed herself right now. Did she think he was going to eat her? Well, he could, but Skuld never really tasted a human before. Now he was really thinking about how they tasted and which way they would be best prepared. Or was she thinking of a way not to deal with him? She could just start saying some bible verses, or hide out in a church and he would not be able to mess with her. So Skuld decided he would not say anything else on the weakness matter. She would have to figure it out on her own.

Skuld glanced back outside and he knew that it was best if she left now anyway. Even if he did want to have more time spent with her, it would have to wait. He wondered when she would be back to count their next day. As well as what he was going to do when she came back for a visit. Just sitting and talking was a little boring and Skuld needed some action. Ophelia didn't even seem to care that Skuld was a little hurt. 'She could be a demon.' Skuld thought to himself just letting her count this as a full day...or night. They would have to pick it up next time then.

"It counts. Call next time you want a day to count." Skuld said as he got up and wrote his number on a sheet of paper and then handed it to Ophelia to use. There would be no point in asking if she had a phone or not, who didn't have a phone in this day and age? Skuld then went and looked out his window as he was feeling a little down that he would have to go back to Hell. "Only visit me at night." Skuld said and that was then end of his talking as he walked over to his door and held it open for her to leave threw. She might have one this rounds little game, but next time, he would.

“Fine,” Ophelia said as she took the piece of paper with his number on it. At least she did not have to go looking for the number. And even if she did find the number for the club she doubted that she would actually get through to the main boss, considering that he was a demon. But why didn’t he want her to call during the daylight hours? – Was there a Mrs. Demon? Though she thought that it was pretty typical of a club owner to want to sleep in during the day since they were up all night, typical Club Owners/Demons.

“Goodbye.” She said as she walked through the door when he opened it, the universal cue to leave on not the best terms. She wondered what he would have thought if she decided to leave through the window? She snickered as she walked down the stairs. That would not make Mrs. Demon happy in the slightest! Ophelia clutched her equipment and wished that she could have at least added a stack of money. The way she saw, she was out the club entrance fee and out an imaginary fee for a damned imaginary contract with a real demon.

Skuld didn't like the fact that things left off on a little bit of a bad term, but he didn't care that much. He only did just meet her, sure he got attached to things, but it still took a little time. He focused on hearing her leave, to make sure she was really gone. He didn't care if she stayed in the club or not, just as long as she didn't come back upstairs. 'The Shadow Dragon would be closing soon anyways' Skuld thought as he pulled out his cell phone.

He called up the worker that was in charge when Skuld was away. "Close up for me, I'm leaving early. Oh, next time a girl has red hair comes in, let her in for free." Skuld said and got a response saying that what if a lot of girls came in with red hair. Skuld thought for a moment now realizing that that would be crazy just to let all red hair girls come in. Plus, Ophelia could dye it or something. "Never mind." Skuld said hanging up and let out a sigh. He made sure his room and all the other rooms were closed, locked, and secure. He made sure to put a chair in front of the door that lead up to his floor.

Going back to his room he pulled of one of his sheets off his bed and hung it up over the window until he could fix it. The sun would be up soon and Skuld would have to go back to Hell. He decided to go early and teleported himself back to Hell in a quick flash and he was gone. Being a demon and owning a night club had its up, especially when you got to meet a hot thief.
