"Oh this?" Brock said as he raised his arm a bit. "No, this happened when taking care of a bit of business with those who don't like our kind." Brock knew that if he said 'hunters' or anything related, they'd probably send him in for a mental check as well. He took the cloth away from the wound to see that it had only stopped bleeding a little bit. Brock hated silver wounds, and not only because they stung like hell, but they also took longer to heal.
"If anyone else asks though, guess you can always say you fell against something." That excuse always seemed to work for him when he had to go to the hospital for gashes. Humans just wouldn't believe you if you said that you got into a fight to protect your kind against hunters. Worse, they'd probably think you were a nut job. With that, Brock had no intentions of spending time in a mental institue, so he'd keep to his "other" excuses.

“I know how to make excuses.” Heaven knew he had made plenty in the past. Maybe too many. Name changes, reasons he was missing, why he lived like he did. Why he wouldn’t go to certain places. He had to be careful. He had no idea how wanted he could be in Japan, but there was always a chance. He had been tiger when it happened, maybe listed on the dead he had caused. He didn't know, so he was careful. But obviously not careful enough. Stupid kid thought he was being funny. Mit had him fired, sure. But there had to be more too it. Maybe he’d pay him a visit tonight, the moon was pretty close to New. Nothing like being reversed in the moon tides, right?
“So there are those that don’t like cats and dogs, huh?” He never gave it that much thought before. How long had he been in New York? Three, four years? Can’t have been that long, didn't matter. Point was, he’d been here a long time. And he never thought of hunters being around. There were Vampire hunters in Japan, but he hadn’t thought of them as being here before. That could be a problem… not right now, but in the future it could be. He’d have to keep an eye out.
