Wine gums are quite awesome, but treacle toffee, of the pan-wrecking, home-made variety is for me a great taste of the end of autumn and the eve of the feast of all Hallows. My Dad makes it, and it seriously tastes like pure sugary awesomeness.

Oh god, the sickly wonders of toffee. There is no festival that compares to this what with the bobbing of toffee apples that has long ignored the health and sane implications that such sports should bare. I am truly envious, my dear Lady, for I only come into contact with such delicacies through the unravelling of plastic wrappers.

Treacle toffee is not so hard to make, if one has a tin one does not mind wrecking. I shall certainly be making an attempt in the college kitchen, which may bring about failure of epic proportions, but oh well ^^.
I miss apple-bobbing! I hope the college includes it in the festivities in the bar and if it does, I am certain to attend! It's a fantabulous sport.

I shall hunt down a species of cheap and fading supermarket where I can buy myself a pan of some sorts, then melt and burn and char away happily. Our failed cooking attempts are able to remind us that we are all secretly terrible at cooking, but what the smeg, no-one gives such things to much regard for them to linger upon our brows of arms and flailing brandy oooh look Martha ain't 'e a jem - *dies*
Apple bobbing is essential. The brief minute of drowning followed by the applause of failing miserably as ones sweeps back sticky fringes. Hmm-hmm *beams at such thoughts*.

The pagans really knew how to party, hm. None of this Christian thankfulness, but some good old silliness with mysteriously mythical roots that amuse almost as much as the games themselves. And fancy dress, though I seriously lack much in that department this year.
*has just got a treacle-toffee recipe and is wondering how much it would cost to buy cooking utensils*
Anyway, wandering vaguely back towards topic, I am also reminded by my stomach of the delicious tastelessness of gummy teeth of the vampiric nature.

Such Samhain silliness is the supreme sustenance to smite salvation and such. Hmm, sibilance, my sordid mistress, how I have neglected you so. The dressing up is a true requirement alongside the bobbing and scoffing ^^ I urge you to express the supreme silliness of this sort.
Would you care to share the recipe to a toffee treacle novice? Or are these guarded secrets that force me to blindly face Google?

I simply braved Google, but I'll save you the hassle: >>clicky<<. My father currently has no phone, and I do not know the recipe by heart, alas. It is a shame, but shall be remedied forthwith. Surely sibilance is sensuously sublime, simple softness of sounds slipping secretly and surrounding the senses and suchlike. ^^ Oh for the joys of alliteration. I must go a-searching in the charity shops for ideas then... ho-hum... I much prefer ceilidhs to discos... so much more amusing and friendly. Hallowe'en ceilidhs doubly so. |

I do think I enjoy Hershey's to any other sort of chocolate out in existence. I do believe I've tried Belgian chocolates and Cadbury's but Hershey's is my number one. And then some chocolate I only find when school's are doing their fund raisers, the chocolate with caramel inside. Each to their own I suppose.
And apple bobbing is simply barbaric if you don't mind me saying so. A bunch of different people getting their mouth germs all over the apples.
