With a rucksack attached to her back, Kara made her way across the field. Today had been better than most, people had hardly noticed her when she had slipped in and out of the shop. And even when the alarms went, no one had done anything. Maybe it was her cute, innocent pink look? With a smile pasted on her face, she slipped her hand in the pocket of her yellow skinny’s, pulling her trusty iPod. The weather was dreary, but today wasn’t about to be ruined. With one of her favourite songs blasting in her ears, and no one around, she felt content.
As she trudged along the damp grass, lyrics flowed from her maw. ‘It started on a morning around one week ago I was answering to questions which I don't even know And from then on it went on and went on I noticed more and more
But when you're coming out with phrases that your dad only says You gotta admit that you can't let it go And all is not OK
Help me out, is it just me Falling down If only I knew why—‘
She paused, looking over her shoulder, the scent of human filling her nose. It wasn’t the most pleasant of smells, but by now she was used to it. Her singing became a quiet muttering, the stench of smoke and alcohol on human flesh making her feel uncomfortable in her surroundings.
It was when she turned back that she saw the group of teenage boys, a very un-trust worthy long spread about their faces. She jumped, surprised that she hadn’t noticed they were in front of her, she muttered something under her breath before turning to go another way, only to find them follow her round. “ ‘Sup my darlin’ “ one of them said coming up in front of her, hands resting on her shoulders, stopping her in her tracks. Kara removed one of the head phones, ‘What?’ She asked bluntly, only the movement of the boys lips making her realise she was being spoken to. Kara nudge off the boys hands, and went to go round him, and again, found she was unable as he moved in front of her, the rest of them surrounding her. A sigh escaped her, ‘And er... What’s a babe like you doing in a place like this on her own.’ He spoke, head in her face, the rank stench of alcohol on his breath making Kara gag. ‘Nothing you would be interested in. Now- do ya mind moving?’ she asked, again trying to get passed, ‘na. I don’t think I will.’ He spoke stubbornly.

Some boys take a beautiful girl, And hide her away from the rest of the world. I wanna be the one to walk in the sun. Some how Lia still found herself in the park, even after her encounter with a werewolf, a necromancer she still came here everyday. It was like she was drawn here. Which was something she was not overly shocked by either. She had even stopped being so scared of things now, since the past few days pretty much had destroyed any reason to fear anything. Though she now was a bit more on the safe side, she had not learned to fight or anything like that no instead she had come up with her own way of protection, and she knew how to use it rather well. Walking through the park a small back pack across her back and a huge hooded jacket covering her face she walked through the park with a book in her hand not even paying any attention to what was going on around her. When she finally looked up she saw a group of the local boys messing with a girl, though the girl did not seem to be overly scared but more instead annoyed with them. Which either ment one of two things. This girl was just like herself or she was not human. Walking forward Lia kept her attention on them and made it look as though she was reading. Until she made her self slam into one of the boys who where around the stranger. Dropping her book she looked up and glared at the male, with a look that could kill. Though Lia was harmless normally she did have a nasty little attitude lately. "Why the hell are you standing in the middle of a walk way? I mean really get the hell out of the path if your going to be just standing around like some reject. Also are you retarded hitting on a girl in the middle of the park? Im pretty sure as well she has no interest in you."Standing straight up Lia's hand slipped out of her sleeves along with a small bat, lately she had been carrying it just in case, knowing all to well she was not very strong but at least having a weapon did help. Now looking at the group of the boy's she smiled, and waited to see what they where going to do.

The group of boys seemed to find Kara’s reaction boring, but still the insisted on provoking her. Kara sighed, her iPod still sharing its music with her through one ear. She put a hand to her shoulder, rolling it backwards slightly. The most annoying of the lot seemed as though he was about to say something, but was distracted when one of his groupies was shoved into by some girl. Kara, grinned, the looks on each of the boys faces amusing. She shouldered her bag off and swung it round in front of her, opening it to search through it whilst the group was distracted.
‘What do you think you’re doing?’ they all seemed to grunt at the same time after the girl had spoken, "Why the hell are you standing in the middle of a walk way? I mean really get the hell out of the path if you’re going to be just standing around like some reject. Also are you retarded hitting on a girl in the middle of the park? I’m pretty sure as well she has no interest in you." one bent slightly, peering in the girls face, ‘Watch your mouth too. If you’re that bothered ‘bout it then go round a different way.’ He sneered walking back to investigate what Kara was doing.
Kara noticed the bat that the girl had pulled from her sleeve. She shouldered her bag again, having found what it was she was looking for. ‘You people sure are annoying.’ She breathed. A glint of metal between her fingers could be seen, ‘Now if you don’t mind. I’ll be going.’ She said quite plainly. The boy sneered again,’ You ain’t going nowhere. I’m not done with you.’
It wasn’t long before Kara had a pocket knife pointed straight under the boys chin, she taped it a couple of times, her face finding its way closer to his, His group seemed to split, some going around the girl, and others coming around her, ‘You sure about that.’ She stated, a malicious tone to her voice. With her good mood ruined, she wasn’t going to tolerate any of this.

Some boys take a beautiful girl, And hide her away from the rest of the world. I wanna be the one to walk in the sun.Lia listened to the boys as they spoke, but she really could care less. Her eyes also caught the shimmer from the blade now held in the strange girls hands. So at least this girl had one way of protecting herself, but still Lia found it odd that she was still remaining ever so calm. As the group changed up and moved around Lia's eyes remained on the small groups, making sure that none of them where going to attack. "You know ganging up on people is not overly nice.. And im pretty sure some may find it a bit on the rude side. Im not saying me in general or anything though. Just that you really should be careful about the people you try and attack some are different then others. "Looking up at one of the boys directly in front of her she gave a soft smile then brought her right hand around to the back side of his leg. The bat making a thud sound as it made contact and the boy falling to the ground. Though Lia was not so keen on the whole hurting people or the idea of even fighting. She luckily knew enough to keep herself pretty safe. Looking at the boy she just hit she grinned then stepped over him keeping her eyes on the rest of them. She really did not know why she had even got involved, maybe because she did not want to see the girl hurt? Or maybe is was secretly she knew if she had not the girl would have killed these stupid young boys.

Kara grinned as most of the boys scrambled away, obviously all bark and no bite. She turned to see the girl standing over the last boy in that area, and she couldn’t help but laugh. ‘I think you can let him go now.’ Her voice was soft, unlike before, her mood changing rapidly. ‘You sure do know your stuff for a kid.’ She beamed, holding out a hand. ‘I’m Kara by the way.’
Clouds started to part slightly, slivers of light dotting the field. Kara walked over to the nearest dry looking spot, settling her bag down, and again started rummaging through it. She hadn’t eaten in a while, and was absolutely starved. Eyes gleaming in triumph she took out the food bar. ‘Whats your name.’ She asked the girl.

Lia smiled as all the boys took off, it seemed they where not really all that scary any more, which for Lia to admit that it was a sad thing. She had changed so much in just the past few days, mainly because after being used as a human shield for werewolfs she really did not find many other things all that scary. Plus she had met a necromancer, a male who punched tree's and rocks for fun. So really she could not complain about how her life was any more. And her fear was pretty much gone. when the girl spoke Lia looked up at her and nodded, moving over she let the boy up as he did so and ran off she giggled a little. After the girl spoke and told Lia her name Lia nodded a little then sat down. She was not overly talkative in the last few days but at least she was starting to talk more and not be such a little wuss. "No its not that i know what im doing really.. I really dont to be honest.. But thanks any way, and im Lia its nice to meet you Kara. " She spoke softly but also with a honest voice. She was not going to just lie their was no point in that really. Looking towards the sky she sighed a little then threw her hood up just in case then looked over at kara. She seemed to be rather happy, but Lia was still wondering if she should ask her the question that was on her mind, that being what the are you. But she knew all to well that just asking out bluntly could cause some issued, and she did not want to be mistaken for a hunter. "Kara you where not even slightly scared of being ganged up on by those boys.. So that means im guessing you knew you had nothing to worry about. Though im sure i could be wrong but im doubting your like them or myself."

‘Lia...’ She said thinking for a moment while she un-wrapped the item she had taken out of her bag. ‘That’s a nice name.’ She beamed, ‘Nice to meet you Lia.’ She sat cross legged of the floor, the feeling of the slightly damp grass under her seeping through her jeans. She popped the food in her mouth, taking a bite out of it while the girl carried on speaking. She eyed her for a moment, before replying. ‘Not being scared of hooligans like that is easy. I wasn’t really scared because I wasn’t about to let them do anything.’ She paused again, her hands resting in her lap, ‘And what do you mean?’
Again, Kara put the bar to her mouth, her hunger slowly leaving her. One eyebrow rose as she looked at the girl, wide eyed, while she waited for a reply. This girl seemed to be hinting at the fact that she wasn’t human, which meant one of two things. Suspicion crept across her face slightly, her heart beating that little bit faster, how could a little girl be a hunter? She rolled both her shoulders back again, a slight ache passed through them. No. She was being stupid. She wasn’t a hunter, surely? But still she was going to stay prepared. Kara wasn’t going to be one to get caught. If she was a hunter, she would probably leg it in some direction to hide, and possibly leave the area. She lifted one hand to the headphone in her ear, removing it so that she could hear everything around her.

"Thank you Kara.. " Lia spoke softly in the girls response to her name. It was not every day that she got compliments about it so she was not overly keen on what to use as a response to it. thanks was the only thing to come to mind and that was what had come out. Looking around Lia watched the strange girl for a moment and listened to every thing she had to say. Then finally caught on to her response and her own question. Lia had also noticed the weary look she got from her as well. Knowing about the hunters that was the first issue, this being might have the thought that she was a hunter and after her. Which in this situation was false but it could have been true. Luckily Lia could prove easily she was not a hunter and had no intentions on bringing her any harm. "Umm... Well you are more like this girl a met the other day, she was well different.. Not human fully i guess yet appeared like one for the most part. And well i have herd of many different beings lately and i am just stating i do not think your human is all... I know it sounds stupid but i just got a gut feeling. But im not a hunter either im actually just some nosey little girl who likes to know these things."Looking down to the ground after speaking Lia sighed then picked up a piece of straw. Why it was their she did not know but it would help in any means, sticken one end in her mouth she softly chewed the end as she waited on the girls reaction to her statement.

Kara watched Lia curiously as she spoke, she didn’t act like a hunter nor speak like one. And she denied being one. But still there was the question of how such a young girl, who wasn’t a hunter, knew about werewolves and such, and didn’t act afraid of them.
Kara stood up, shouldering her bag, first, before replying, she took out another of the food bars, and offered it to Lia. ‘Meh. Alright, I’ll believe you’re not a hunter’ she spoke, shrugging her shoulders as if it was nothing, but still the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end. She wasn’t about to let her guard down, not that easily- just in case. ‘And yeah. I’m not human. Not fully. I used to be though.’ It seemed like a pretty obvious thing that she had added on the end, but it felt good to say it, although it bought a sense of longing to her.
She peered over her shoulder before turning back to the girl in front of her. ‘And besides, you can’t be more than what? 15? So how come you seem to know so much?’ Kara move her hands behind her head, scooping up all the hair to tie it up, the wind blowing it every which way.

Lia smiled a little at the girl Kara as she replied back. You see Lia had been rather scared of everything until just recently when things were beginning to change a little. More like she was coming out of her little recluse of a shell and finally opening up to the world. So with her understanding more about the world then most humans ever would she was rather happy with herself. She understood more about what lived around her at a young age then any one would ever know. "No thank you Kara." She said as the girl offered her one of her little snack bar things. She applied a oft shake of her head as well with the polite turn down. And still she sat still watching her, she knew now she was not human as well since she had admitted to that but now was the issue to figure out what she was. From what she could gather in idea was that she not a vampire since it was day time, and that demons and angels did not seem plausible in this situation. So she had to be a werewolf or a necromancer, though she could be wrong this was her best guess. "Yes i am haha, and well i became more interested when i was almost crushed by a werewolf... Then used as a human shield for it to get away from three hunters. So after that iv done research and met a few more of these beings and well i just have a grave interest."She knew what she said had to sound odd but it was the truth after all, she saw very little reason to ever lie and did not find this one of the times to do so. So she just explained why she was so interested and knowledgeable in the otherworldly creatures on earth.

Kara shrugged as Lia turned down her offer of food, and swiftly placed it back in her bag. Kara sat down in front of the young girl. Listening intently as she told her small tale of how she came to know of other creatures such as herself. ‘Wow. You were almost crushed?” She exclaimed, her mind puzzling over it for a few moments before returning to reply, ‘yeah, I kill the bastards.’ She mumbled, picking at a loose thread in her jeans. Realising she had sworn she slapped a hand to her mouth, ‘ ’Scuse my French.’ She let her hand fall back to her lap, not one for swearing in front of people younger than her, she just about scorned herself when she ever slipped. ‘Sounds like you have had more of an adventurous life than others your age.’ She stated, her fingers finding their way back to the loose thread.
She sighed, the cool breeze picking up slightly. ‘I can see by the way you look, you’re trying to figure out what I am.’ She breathed, her gaze wandering form the thread to Lia, ‘I’m guessing you have ruled out vampire, and I sure as hell am not an angel or demon. So that leaves two.’ She paused, her hands meeting in the centre of her lap, ‘I’m a werewolf, and have been one for- well, it’s coming up to 81 years.’

"Yeah like i was just sitting their and suddenly out of no where a half ton wolf came running at me. And smashed up the swings and everything, it was pretty intense." Lia looked at Kara and gave her a soft smile. It was odd how she could talk to things that her kind wanted to hunt down and kill easier then her own kind. It sorda was cool to though. She had no rejections yet, and none of them had tried to eat her. "Oh dont worry iv herd far worse. I slip up and say bad words once in a while as well." her eyes watched as the girl sat down infront of her. Lia was still a bit shocked by how open this stranger was being, though she figured it was not like Lia was going to be any type of threat to her, so why not act normal. Lia looked at the girl again as she told her what she was, so now Lia had met two rather interesting werewolfs and a necromancer. Now she just had the other three to meet. Which she was not sure if that would be something good for her to do. But in any case she did want to at least meet all the races and find out as much about them as she could, that was just part of who she was. "So your not very old really then compared so some others. Like the one i met the other day was a couple hundred years old. But still it makes me feel really young.."

Kara nodded, listening to what Lia said, ‘But still, weren’t you scared?’ she asked, hands now pressed against her feet as they touched each other in front of her. She leant forwards slightly, again she nodded, ‘I guess, kids now, they swear left right and centre.’ She giggled slightly, talking to someone about what she was, without them running away, felt like such a relief. ‘No. I haven’t been one for long, compared to others, that is. I still have trouble controlling it.’ She sighed. Kara turned her head to the side taking in a deep breath before turning back. ‘Thinking about others like me. You seen any around. I’ve been tracking one, but he’s a slippery thing.’
