Brook rolled her eyes. "There is a difference between being cynical and being a jerk" she stuck her tongue out at him like a five year old. "And I never said you were a bad person, I don't even know you" she took a sip of her beer relishing in the taste of it. Brook definitely enjoyed a good beer.
When he asked about her though she cocked her head to the side slightly looking at him quizzically. Accompanied with her childish act earlier it made her look young. Like a kid looking at a headless frog with interest. "Me?" she asked slightly bewildered. "Why would you want to know about me I'm not that interesting" she said matter o' factly. She wasn't being mean or trying to be sly and a jerk, to Brook she was just stating a fact. To her the idea that a demon would find the life of a human to be any bit interesting just didn't make any sense and he had already proven civilities were not his forte. "I guess what do you want to know?"

He smiles, "Anything you care to tell me. To me, the lives you people live is fascinating. So full of diversity and comraderie. As a demon, each day is a battle, and if we stumble, we become food for the strong. The idea that people can lead lives other than that, is quite frankly tantalizing." he pauses a moment, collecting his thoughts.
"As is, I can only be on the human realm at night, unless summoned. Half of my days are spent in a constant struggle of life or death. That I've managed to last eleven millenium is astounding to me." he says, his way of explaining his request of her. He then smiles and winks at her, "Plus, a beautiful lady is always interesting to me, especially if she's willing to summon me during the day time." he adds with a chuckle.
He always enjoyed meeting new people, and hopefully convincing them to summon and let him roam. Even more so if they spent time with him. Eleven thousand years of solitude began to make one quite lonely, eager for any sort of communication, no matter whether or not he was just being used.

Brook looked at him oddly. "You know for someone who pushes people away you sure want them around" she laughed the contradiction he created for himself. "I think you're more human than you realize" she stuck out her tongue with a giggle. "I suppose I should probably tell you my name first?" she asked rhetorically. Holding out her hand this time. "Brook" she said simply. She felt her face heat up slightly at his 'beautiful' girl comment. Brook knew she was pretty but she always had difficulty taking a compliment without feeling embarrassed.
"I can't imagine not walking in sunlight" she mused quickly. "I use to love the night. I was such a night owl then one day after so many nights I went out into the sun and I just couldn't stay away from it after that. The way it warms your skin its almost like you're being kissed everywhere so softly its like a breeze. You almost feel like your glowing. Know what I mean?"

He smiles as he takes her hand, gently pressing his lips to the back of her hand. "Enchanted my dear. My true name is Arioch, known as the lord of seven darks. Should you ever need my aid, call my name and I shall respond. You need not bother with a protective circle or offerings of payment. I shall answer without thoughts of violence in my mind towards you." he says heartfully.
He was no threat to the people he gave his true name to willingly. Especially women, even more so the ones he found quite attractive. "As you may or may not know, we demons are unable to lie. Besides, as you've pointed out, I do enjoy the company of others. I've lived alone for eleven thousand years, ignored and hunted across the entire lands of hell and earth. So, for as much as I generally don't like people, even a little attention is nice once and awhile." he says thoughtfully, voice low and soft as his eyes glazed over.
He absently draws forth another cig, lighting it and playing with the flame, rolling it around in his hand and forming various shapes and images. Eventually he chuckles softly, crafting an image in the flame, a younger looking man, unscarred and unweathered by time. He watches as the young man flows through kata after kata with various weapons, abundant energy bounding through his body, truly carefree.
He chuckles again, smiling at her as the flames faded away. He inhales deeply, eyes closing as he exhaled. "And I prefer the night, but yes, I know the feeling. The cool and quiet night's breeze, the moon high overhead and the world asleep around you. To know true tranquility for only a brief moment in an existence as mine, is the greatest gift I could ever find." he says, turning his back to her as he leaned over the railing, watching the moon as he smoked his cigarette down.

Brook smiled. "Poetic" she said a smile creeping across her features. She placed her hand over his on the railing. "I'm sorry your life is lived alone. I know the feeling, but I still have ones that love me all over the world. I just don't get to see them as often as I'd like. They don't quite have the ability to appear every time I say their name" she giggled lightly feeling her cheeks warm. The alcohol was definitely started to get to her, but she was still in control.
It might have been this very reason that she felt compelled to ask her next question. "Actually you may be able to help me with something" she placed her beer on the ground and unbuttoned her sweater sliding it off her shoulders. Next she grabbed the straps of her tank top and slid them down turning her back to him. Taking one more quick peak around the balcony to see that no one was around she pulled it down, holding the sweater in front of her, to reveal the scar on her back. Though cut in half by her bra strap it was pretty easy to figure out the shape of the mark. A Jewish star with a circle around it and even in the dark you could see the slightly gold threads that went through the damaged skin. "I got it in a fire when I was really little. I have no idea what it means or how I got it. The doctors just called it a freak accident, but I have a feeling it isn't just a freak accident."

He smiles lightly as she places her hand atop his, listening to her words. He chuckles lightly as she finishes, "I wish I could find anyone that could love a demon." he says with a laugh. "And if you ever want to see them, you need only call my name, and I shall do your bidding my dear. With me, you need not worry about a circle or protective spells." he says softly. If all she ever needed him for was to have him help her see her family, he'd truly enjoy being around her.
When she continued, asking for his help and revealed her mark, his demeanor changed. He immediately became more serious, youthful features hardened and seemingly chiseled from stone. His fingers traced lightly over the mark, every sense at it's peak, body seeming to ripple as he held his truer forms in check. "Hmm. I can't say much, save that it's not natural or accidental. I can look into it, but you'll have to summon me."
He pauses as he gently raises her clothes back up for her. Slipping his arms around her in a comforting embrace. "I don't know what happened, but I'll figure it out. Summon me when you wish, I can't leave the demon realm during the day otherwise." he says softly, quickly stepping away to not let her see or feel the longing he had for someone who cared for him.
"I promise I'll do everything in my power to find the truth, and shan't rest till I do." he says much more formally, fighting the urge to release his half demon form at least. It always felt good to unleash his power and stretch his muscles, and he wanted to solve this for her immediately. Something about it felt wrong, and it was beginning to irk him. He crosses his arms over his chest, leaning against the railing with his back to her, holding himself in check.

Brook wasn't sure if it was the alcohol or the sheer position their bodies had been in, but her face heated up extensively. "Well I work mostly during the week, but whenever I get the chance during the day I'll call for you, then you can just go meander around and enjoy some sunlight for once" she spoke kindly turning to face him completely. "I mean I won't get in some kind of trouble if I summon you and don't actually need you right? I mean you could go do your own thing or do you need a task?" she asked not really sure about the rules of the demon world.
When he turned his back on her though, she got slightly concerned. "Are you okay?" she asked reaching up to touch his shoulder. "I know those are like the three worst words in the English language, but I don't really know how else to ask it" she laughed lightly at that. "But seriously don't worry about it too much, I mean I've had this thing since I was a little girl, it only bleeds occasionally, nothing big, I'm working on figuring it out, so don't think too much of it, I just thought you might know something off the top of your head. There is no need to take on an extra burden for me."

He waves a hand absently, "Just give me the task of studying. Vague enough for me to do what I want." he replies, closing his eyes as she rested her hand on his shoulder. "And I will worry, because something about it feels wrong, unnatural. It's both foreign and familiar, I know I've had the same feeling before, but I can't recall from where." he says.
He sighs, turning to face her. "I promise, no, I swear that I'll help you figure this out." he says, eyes filled with fire and determination. "I'm always at the disposal of a human, so it's the least I can do to assist one who needs my help." he says shrugging. "And you may summon me when you wish, it need not be only during the day. I'm available twenty four hours a day for anything you might need." he says with a chuckle, smiling gently at her.

Brook laughed lightly. "Wow I've never had a man be so conveniently assessable" she grinned back at him, it was kind, and though she joked she took what he said to heart. He was suppose to be a creature of evil and here he was just trying to help her. She had already met a few creatures that had changed her form of judgement, but he made her feel more at ease.
Her face turned serious and her words slipped from her mouth. "Thank you." It was quiet and quite passive, but she said it with all her heart. She'd never had someone try and protect her, help her, she was always the one doing the helping, her job even put her in that position. The care warmed her and made her more fond of this man every second. "It's very nice finding kindness in this world, so thank you. The fact that you care so much and you've only met me means your position in this world is not so finite as it appears. I never imagined I'd meet a good demon" she spoke more confidently and placed her hand over his. "Thanks for changing my world a little bit."

He sighs softly as she places her hand atop his, the profound longing for someone who truly cared welling up inside him. He'd always been alone, and he'd always seen happy people together. He'd never had a family, nor anyone who actually cared, only himself. He snaps back to reality, aware of the dangerous road his mind was taking him down. His hand slips out of hers quickly, rubbing the back of his head as he danced away, laughing.
"Don't thank me, I haven't even done anything! I'm just a harbinger of chaos, an avatar of death, not something most humans wish to associate with!" he says with fake cheer. As much as he wanted it, it would never be. No one could love a monster, and he was never the lucky one. "Besides, I dunno if I'll find anything. So, no need to thank me, just doing what I was created for." he says with a smile.
