He chuckles. "I may be a hired gun, but I'm still a professional. As for business cards, I only carry a couple on me at a time, only one loose. The others are in my wallet till I decide I want them. I'm not an amatuer after." he says with a wry grin at her.
"And fine, sure, babysit all you want. I'll do side hunting on my own, you pay me for the jobs I pull with you." he says with a shrug and wave of his hand. It mattered not to him in any case, he worked fine alone, but having a partner always made things easier.
"How do you identify a lycan then? General mutt attitude and looks? I figure if they turn into dogs, might as well look and smell like em." he says with a shrug, another wry smile playing along his lips.

“Alright. Good.” Isi replied as she thought about business cards in his wallet. That seemed pretty safe. She had no idea why he carried business cards but saw the harm but could not think of a reason to dispute him. The cards were harmless enough by themselves. Just as long as he didn’t give them out so carelessly, not that he did. Unless you considered Isi a raging psychopath, which she was, so he had.
“I’ll only agree to you hunting on your own if you call me with the location afterwards. Maybe I can find something worth value and we could afford to get some decent equipment. I’m sure you have contacts in the military that I don’t have and could use.” There was a lot of technology that Isi could only drool over. Spy stores got the equipment the military was done (though the military kept their old equipment in storage lockers) with and when the military had already advanced the equipment. GPS’ had long been used by the military before the public even got a whiff of them.
“No. Actually some are pretty damned cleaned up.” Isi replied as she thought of one respectable businessman. “A few live to your stereotype but they don’t live long and if you hunt them, neither will you. Others, it’s much harder to tell. But once in a while you hear about animal killings on a full moon. You might be able to find a sleeping nude body in the woods. Other than that, you won’t be able to tell. It’s easy if you…” She was almost going to say, ‘if you know who some already are because you grew up with them. You then knew who your families friends were and you could tell by their friends and their friends, friends.’
“Just forget about werewolves.” Isi said and left it at that.

A breeze blew by and blew long bangs into the eyes of a girl. Though she was small of stature she was quite grown, 17 to be exact. Her name was Calliope and she had just come back from a long journey from her hometown of Cairo, Egypt. She had been whisked away suddenly by her brother to settle a matter that was of the utmost importance: who would be the next to head their family line of hunters. Long story short, her older brother became the new head of their clan and that made Calliope second in command by blood.
She had finally been able to leave that horridly hot place and return to the only real place she felt home. So she walked the streets in her normal attire: jeans and a t-shirt but this time it was different. Her clothes were stained in blood a she tried desperately to ignore the smell or even the feel of it on her skin. Eventually she made it to a bathroom and changed into non-bloody clothes. She replaced the t-shirt with a lace top and the jeans with a new pair of pants. She did her hair in a up-do as she sighed. She then stepped back out into the cold world as her new long bangs blew into her eyes once again.
Calliope was not the same little girl who had left this city; she was now a woman and much more mature with priorities and that involved hunting. She now sported her tattoo on her wrist proudly along with a couple more piercings and a few star tattoos along her arms, back and near her eyes. But the tattoos near her eyes were more of eye makeup to make her look more beautiful. She glanced up at the sky and saw the moon; it was full and gorgeous. "It's a shame it had to be this nice tonight" she sighed as she looked forward and saw two other people speaking with each other. Her old self would have just walked over to them and just started a conversation but the new her was more cautious and didn't know anything about these people. So she enacted her plan; act like a normal human.
She waltzed over to them and smiled. "Excuse me, I seem to be lost. Do you by chance know where..." she began when she received a chill down her spine. She glanced behind her and all of a sudden a huge black dog rose out of the bushes. Calliope flipped away from the people and reached into her hair. In her hand was a silver shuriken as she glared at the creature and flung the shuriken at it. It hit it in the neck but it kept coming straight for her. "Shit..." she thought as she braced herself for impact along with taking out a silver staff from the back pocket of her jeans. "Didn't expect that, but come on then!" she called to the creature as she threw off her jacket.

He shrugs. "Yeah, I have contacts but I don't need em. I retain my security clearance for a few years, I can buy direct. I've always been considered an eccentric, so nothing would seem odd in it." he answers cooly, not wanting to mention that his contacts all thought he was dead. Down side of doing wetworks he supposed.
"Scavenge the fallen to further our own hunt?" he stares at her, immebse displeasure written on his face before he bust out laughing, unable to help it. "I like it. They don't need it, probably ill gotten and unmissed anyway. Might as well put it to a good cause!" he says with a fierce grin.
He opens his mouth to reply to her remark about the lycans when a young woman, a kid really, strides up to him, setting off alarms in his head. What female walked alone, at night in this neighborhood? He begins to respond when a snarling beast from the shadows leaps forth, and he reacted as any decent soldier would.
He emptied a clip into its face. He dashes forward, knife flicking out to stab its shaggy neck, only to be flung aside as it smashed into him, rocketing into a wall and dropping to his ass with a grunt, quickly dropping his clip and reloading before the dread beast was upon him.

“Damn. If I knew you could buy technology after being in the military I would have joined up years ago!” Isi replied. That was true. She would have toughed it up until she found a way to become ‘honorably discharged’ and would have purchased all the fancy high tech technology she could only dream of owning! Or, she would have found someone who could have and made a deal with them ages ago! What had she been missing out on?
Isi did not like the way he was staring at her. It was wrong; she knew that but it never felt wrong. There would never be any next of kin and the money would sit in hidden buried accounts and the paintings would probably be auctioned off at an estate sale where the proceeds would go to the government or however the hell it worked when someone had no heirs. Isi did not realize she had been glaring back until Linx broke out laughing and said that he liked it. He had fooled her.
“FUCK!” Isi swore. It was honest goodness a werewolf. Had it been trailing the girl? Had it been trailing them? But right now was no time to think. “Damn it!” Isi swore when Linx moved into action. But she swore only when he was pushed aside from the great big beast. If Linx was scratched she would have to kill him! Isi did not like it when her time was wasted! She pulled out two guns from either side of her hips, clicked off the safety and began to fire at an angle where the beast was in sight and Linx would not get hit unless he moved right in front of her line of fire.
“I hate werewolves.” Isi muttered to herself. 'Maybe not as much as I hate witnesses', she thought to herself. But that would have to be dealt with later.

The beast lunged forward and threw Calliope into a tree. She hit the tree with a hard thud as she slid down the length of the trunk. She opened her eyes and desperately pushed the pain radiating from her shoulder from her mind. "Damn," she muttered as she felt that it was out of its socket. So wit a quick twist, she slammed it back into place as she held her breath to keep from uttering a sound of pain. She then felt blood on her cheek from the impact and sighed. "I didn't think it would have to come to this, but it seems I have no other option" she spoke softly to herself as her bangs fell into her eyes once more and hid her expression. The beast had taken most of the attacks and though it was heavily bleeding, it never once stopped and slowed down. It was out for blood and wouldn't stop until either it or Calliope was dead. Calli reached into the back pocket of her jeans as she pulled out two small clip-like things. She then brought them to her face as she closed her eyes. "Oh great Ra, who is the maker of the sun and the provider of all things sacred in my land. Dearest Anubis, who decides who to take to the afterlife. Merciful Gods who have blessed my clan with your power, lend me your strength to defeat this evil and return order to this world" she chanted as the clip-like things in her hands began to glow a light blue. The aura then consumed Calliope's body as she too began to glow a light blue. She then looked up at the monster as she clutched the clips tighter All of a sudden the clips turned into a pair of shuriken with intricate designs on the side. Calli then with all of her strength flung the shuriken at the beast as the shuriken gained significant speed. She now longer glowed but the shuriken did. They then hit the werewolf in the neck; in the jugular. The monster just stared at her in surprise and horror as blood spluttered out on the wounds, it the sunk to its knees and hit the ground. Calli walked over to the monster and bowed to it as she collected her shuriken. She then turned around to the others with them still in her hands should they decide to attack her. She knew she would have a hard time defending against them and she hoped it wouldn't come to that. "Please do not attack me, I don not wish for another fight. I mean you no harm" she spoke softly yet firmly. (ooc: This is what the shuriken look like: thedarkblade.com/the-hollywood-glamor-of-the-ninja-throwing-star/ )

Linx growls as he reloads, chambering a new round with practised ease. However, the creature was dead, leaving him nothing to shoot at. His eye twitches slightly before he pushes himself up, spitting out some blood to clear the taste out of his mouth. He stares at the corpse, a low growl issuing from his throat, a sound of extreme displeasure before he turns his cold glare on the child, voice utterly cold.
"And who the hell are you? Do you make a habit of dragging bystanders into personal vendettas? Get a kick out of venerating an archaic god, flashing some rave bling and killing shit?" he demands, her amatuer tactics causing his temper to flare up. He and Isi could have been killed because of this stupid kid playing at the big bad hunter. He was gonna tear her down.
He sheathes his knife, holsters he gun and stands in front of her, eyes colder than the arctic. "Because of you, we could have been killed. You let your opponent track you, you underestimated him, and almost died because of it. Shurikens against a thick hide? Please, it's insulting to a professional. You should know your opponent, plan accordingly, and never hold back. You fuck up, people die." he says, voice steady and calm, but rage trembled behind each word.

At the strange mans words she narrowed her eyes at him and glared. She bit her lip to try and keep herself from saying something she would more then likely regret later. But when he said it was insulting to a professional, Calliope could no longer hold her tongue. She then walked right up to him and stared him in the eyes. Her eyes began to match his and gleaned like steel. "Who the hell do you think you are? I admit it was my fault for not noticing the beast sooner, but then what gives you the right to stand there and give me hell. I understand that your lives were in jeopardy but you are a hunter, well acquainted with this kind of work. You would have been fine and would have finished the job should I not. Do not blame me because of your inability to handle a Garu" she spoke softly yet with venom to every one of her words. In her language Garu meant werewolf.
She then stared at him for a good while as she finally broke her gaze from his. "And these are not just any shuriken; these are special hunting weapons blessed by the Gods of my country. These markings along the blade are special hieroglyphics placing the power of the Egyptian gods in the blades. Along with the incantation; any creature that comes into the contact of the blade that has evil in its heart or evil content is annihilated." she explained as she flicked the blade and the blades came out as she carefully slid her finger down the length of one of the blades.
Then her eyes flickered back up to meet the boy's gaze. "I hail from the Clan of Serrano; the infamous Hunter clan of Egypt. I am the 2nd in command of our clan: My name is Calliope" she introduced herself as she politely bowed to him. She was giving him respect that she felt that he didn't deserve; but she never once took her eyes off of him

Isi couldn’t get a word in word wise. Linx had done all the talking. Isi did not mention that Linx had only been a hunter now for ten minutes and knew that he would certainly not say a word about that. She crossed her arms under her breasts and she looked deadly if she might think so with a loaded gun in each hand. She still had a few bullets left in each magazine. “How…how the hell were you glowing blue?” Isi finally spoke! The girl looked and acted like a human. Were she a vampire she would have moved with more speed. A werewolf would not kill another and if they were in battle both would be in their forms. This girl was a human. A human girl who glowed blue after praying / chanting.
Isi was not a peace negotiator. Far from it. But she was too damn curious about the glowing blue. She looked over at the large dog and made a ‘tsk’ noise. This was why she hated werewolves. Their bodies did not go away with the sunlight. Now that It was dead it might change into a human. And a human filled with silver bullets, bullets and shrunken scratches was not good. The police would think three people, or at least two, more than one. Isi sighed. Who would have thought she would play peace negotiator? But there were more important things at hand. “Whoever you are, it really doesn’t matter. We need to get rid of this body and fast. I bet someone heard the shots. I think the police avoid this area but if they get enough calls they might be forced to check it out.”

He growls, muttering under his breath, turning to take care of the corpse. "Get out of here, I'll handle this if local authorities show." he says with a dismissive wave of his hand, collecting shell casings and empty clips quickly, slipping them into pouches on his holster.
He grumbles again, slipping on a pair of gloves as he drags the body into the alley next to the vampires corpse. Most cops wouldn't think twice about two bodies at odds in an alley in this area. Trick was planting the right weapon. "Hey, give me one of your guns. he says to Isi, careful not to use her name. He assumed hers were unregistered, so it'd make more sense to a cop. He'd have to place the vampires finger prints on the slide assembly, not just the outside of it. With on bullet in the vamp, it'd look like a murder/suicide.

Calli had been glaring so hard at the boy that she was a bit thrown when the girl spoke to her so calmly. She was taken off guard by Isi's question and then scratched the back of her head. "Um, well...its a special ability of my clan. We are able to manipulate the powers of the gods and in turn their power resides in our bodies for a short amount of time. I glowed because my shuriken did and because I have tattoos that match the designs on my weapons" she explained with a light laugh.
"I am Calliope, its nice to meet you" she spoke with a smile to the girl. "I agree, we should disappear from this place. Shall we meet up at a coffee shop just down the road in town? It is well acquainted with other people and we won't look suspicious in the least. Also...it will give us a place to speak because I suspect there are questions you wish to ask me and vice versa" she suggested in a curious voice and also with a playful smile towards Isi

“How are you going to handle this if the local authorities show up?” Isi replied. She was curious and it may have showed on her face. Was he going to talk his way out of something like this? “Damn it. Fine.” Isi replied as she handed Linx one of her guns that had shot the werewolf repeatedly. “You know when I said that we should handle this I assumed we would hide the werewolf’s body in one of the buildings. Homeless people die all the time. The vampire’s just going to turn to dust when the sun rises! If the police don’t get here before then…Augh! Fuck. The police can’t find this.” Isi rubbed her temples after she had given Linx her precious gun. He was her partner and Isi knew the definition of partner. She would trust him.
“Okay, fine. Coffee shop.” Isi agreed. She was curious about this girl. She had once met a vampire who was under the delusion that she herself was a great Goddess. Maybe there was something to this whole Gods and Goddesses thing. Isi had never believed but she had seen this girl light up with her own eyes. Of course it could be a trick. Isi glanced back towards Linx, she did not want to leave him alone. Nor did she wish to be alone with this girl. “Are you sure you can handle this?” Isi asked him in a neutral tone. Her way was to leave the bodies of a vampire until the sun came, nothing would be found. The werewolf changed everything. Isi would have dragged the body into one of these old buildings were homeless people were often found decaying. No one gave a damn and autopsies were rarely performed because of this reason.

He chuckles, "Veteran on scene with a registered weapon, honourable discharge after years of exemplary service in a military law enforcement capacity." he says, giving her a bit of his background. "This is a walk in the park, and a beat cops wet dream. Paperwork's easy, higher ups won't question my statement, open and shut case of self defense. Once I'm gone, it'll look like a murder suicide till daybreak, then it's gang related and no one cares to look to closely." he says with a shrug, the handgun coming to pieces in his hand almost faster than you could blink as he pressed the corpes finger prints to the inside of the slide assembly. He could faintly hear sirens now responding to the call, and smiled at his employer and the young lady.
"Right, off you go, I'll meet up with you at the coffee shop. I'll hang around for a quick peek at what they're doing, give a statement if I have to, then slip off, now go." he says to Isi before turning to Calliope. "As for you. Let me apologize for my rude behaviour before. You caught me at a terrible time, and I was completely out of line. I'll make it up to you and buy you a beer when you're legal." he says with a playful grin, before tapping the index and middle finger of his right hand to his forehead in salute, and slipping off into the shadows to find a better vantage point to watch the drama unfold.

Calliope had listened carefully to everything Isi had spoken and sighed. It seemed that they were in quite a predicament, and if it came to it she would ultimately have to use more of her magic. But it was a surprise when she heard the man called Linx speak and explain what he would do and what the police would believe. She then thought carefully about his words; digesting them and going through all of the scenarios and he was ultimately correct.
When Linx spoke to her she immediately turned to face him. He had caught her off guard by his sudden tone with how soft it was as opposed to how it had been earlier. She was ready for another onslaught of anger but was thoroughly surprised when he apologized to her. She didn't know what to say in response so she just blinked a couple of times and blushed as she saluted towards her. "Breathe Calliope, just breathe" she whispered to herself as she pulled her bangs out of her eyes yet her face still held the light blush on her cheeks. "so, off to the coffee shop are we?" she asked as she looked towards Isi

Isi looked impressed. It all sounded and made sense. She would miss her gun but Linx would put it to good use. The gun had been used multiple times before but it would take someone overzealous to compare casings when a crime had not been committed. This was one of the reasons why Isi hated werewolves. Nothing good ever came from them. Couldn’t they understand this and kill themselves? It would make Isi’s life a hell of a lot easier. Isi nodded to her ‘partner’ and turned around. A huge smile was on her face when she heard what he said to the girl, ‘I’ll buy you a beer when you’re legal.’ Isi was going to like working with Linx.
“Sure. I suppose.” Isi nodded to herself and headed off down the street with Calliope. She hadn’t given the girl her name yet. This was the first time in a year that Isi had given away her real name and she had only done that to Linx. She was unsure of this woman. She was a hunter. It just seemed so unreal. After hunting for years she finally decided to recruit a partner, Linx. And now in the same day she met him she found a hunter. Isi had done her hunting alone for six long years. It was just a surprise. The sirens sounded as if they were coming from the other way. “I think we should hurry.” Isi replied as she did a slight jog. Her car was about six blocks from this area. If the police were hear would a nice car look odd in the slum part of town? The police would probably think the car belonged to one of the dead men.
