this world will never be what I expect it and if I don't don't belong who would have guessed it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Midnight. What a glorious time to fly. What a wonderful time for silence. High above the city of Chicago a creature flew, gliding on the winds. Diving every now and then the creature would skim the tops of the buildings, but never flew close enough to be seen by any of the humans. The creature flew to the top of the sears tower and grabbed hold of the tip. The creature ruffled itself once and spread it's leathery wings wide. It gave a cry that was too high for the human ears. One that echoed off the buildings around it and bounced back to its ears. The creature was actually a bat. In fact it was a rather large bat. The wind blew abruptly and it's chocolate brown fur danced slightly.
Ears twisting this way and that, the bat launched itself off the roof and took once again to the skies. Soaring high above Lake Michigan, the bat enjoyed the night. She claimed it as her own as she flew around Chicago. Occasionally she would be seen by humans but they thought nothing of it. To them she was just a blur in the night sky. It was her sky. No one else could steal this night away from her. Not even the Weres that lurked blew. This night was hers and no one elses. The bat dove down to the water and skimmed across the top. The edge of her wings touching just slightly to disturb the water. She wove her way between the boats, making a game of it. Getting closer and closer each time hoping to get a reaction out of the humans.
The bat gained a couple but it wasn't anything to statisfy her need for some kind of fun. The bat needed to do something, but what that something was she had no clue. Once again the bat took to the skies leaving the boats and the water behind her. She headed to the stars dancing across the blackness like it was a stage. Her stage. Hers alone.
Flying So High Above. Not A Care In The World _______________________ With almost no moon and not a cloud to be seen, tonight was a perfect night to fly. It was also a perfect night to hunt. With no moon to outline his body, Malakai could silently soar miles above the ground, looking for prey. Though his current home was New York, he found himself on a two day trip to Chicago as it was genuinely considered a bad idea for a shifter of his type to hunt anywhere that he liked to sleep in. With keen eyesight, every inch of the land below could be scanned for food. Humans were ok to kill, as were animals, but shifters provided that extra challenge which he loved. There was no animal on earth, supernatural or not, that could match his speed and it was the deadliest of weapons. Even as he casually flew he was easily doing 90mph. Soon the city limits could be seen around and so began the hunt. In an instant acceleration up vertically, he climbed up to a mile up and began to circle around the city, his head turning rapidly to lock on to different potentials. Something caught his eye towards the water and he circled around to have a look, not a sound from his wings. Malakai was a large animal, but what he could see was bigger. Could there be a predator capable of hunting him? The way it skimmed the water suggested it could be fishing but there was no returns to try again. With another glance he determined it to be some kind of bat, be it large. As the bat began to fly up, he tucked his wings into his side and began to nose dive towards it. Picking up speed, he was easily up to 200mph within seconds, a missile towards the bat. Without so much as a blink, he was upon the bat with lightning speed and force, bringing his talons forward just in time to meet with the bat's body....
this world will never be what I expect it and if I don't don't belong who would have guessed it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The bat flew gracefully across the water. For a moment a sound touched her ears but nothing more. When she tried to latch onto it, the sound had disappeared. The bat thought nothing more of it as she scanned the water for fish. The bat found what she was looking for, but right as she was about to dive for it something struck her in the back. At first it didn't hurt but then the pain spread like a wild fire throughout her whole body. With a high pitched cry of pain, the bat fell into Lake Michigan. The bat tried to swim but found it difficult with her wings being wet. Her back throbbed painfully, but the bat forced herself through the change and back to her human form. Almost half drowned, the female swam back up to the surface. Gasping for air the naked female scanned the skies looking for the damn bird that attacked her.
"You fucking bastard show yourself. I swear to god I am goign to rip you a new one! That fucking hurt!"
The female screamed to the skies. Thankfully there was no one around, humanwise. She knew it was a bird that had hit her. One of those instinct things that just told her it was one. Fucking bastard. The female swam until she reached the near by stretch of rocks that led to the lighthouse. She would have changed back to her bat form but it wouldn't have done her any good because her wings would be too wet to fly. Fucking bird. Annoyed and wet, the female pulled herself up and onto the rocks. Once up she stood to her full height and stared out over the water.
"Let's go you bastard. Show yourself! I have no patience for stupid shifters."
The female screamed again shaking her wet midnight black hair out of her face. Her ears picked up the sounds of beating wings and she tried to focus on them but it was hard because the sound was faint. All she could do now was wait until this ball of feathers showed itself to her and if it didn't then she would find it. Wet or not she would force herself to find it. Then she would kick its sorry little feathery ass.

Flying So High Above. Not A Care In The World _______________________ With a successful hit, he smashed into her at full force, enough to cause her to death spiral towards the water. Catching the wind under his wings as he spiralled too, he skimmed across the top of the water and circled around to make a pass over where she had crashed. As he passed over head there was now a female in the water where the bat had once been and he immediately flew up vertically, climbing up into the sky with ease. Keeping within a close radius, he listened to her scream insults his way, her drowned voice sounding less threatening that it had clearly been intended to. She was lucky to be after a hit like that, although she had been forced to take her human form. He watched from above as she swam towards the shore, some rocks near the lighthouse. Making a sweep overhead, he landed on the top of the lighthouse and watched from above. As she began to curse and taunt him, he took to flight once more, the first flap of his wings giving a light but faint sound, picked up by the woman. Swooping down behind the lighthouse, he covered some distance before climbing up into the sky once more. Her human size was nowhere near the size of her bat size and he was easily bigger than her now. Tucking his wings into his side once more, he began his dive once more, this time taking a more horizontal approach, though enough vertical to pick up the maximum speed again. It was clear that she had thought herself the top predator in the area, the surprise so clearly heard in her voice. But why would the top predator in the area need to look up? Unlike before, he twirled slightly as he swung around the lighthouse and his talons came forward in a crushing blow...

The female stood on the shore scanning the area. A sound caught her ear and she turned to face it. Her eyes rested up his fast approaching form. No way was she going to be able to dodge it, but she had a better plan. Biting her lip she forced herself through the change faster than she ever had before. This change was instantaneous and hurt like hell. Dripping wet leathery wings stretched from her as she launched herself off the rock and crashed straight into the oncoming bird. His claws tore right through her wings as she latched onto him with her feet. The claws of her feet sunk into his body as the two fell into the water. The bat sank in the water as she tried to swim her way to the surface. The tear in her wing made it hard for her to get back up to the surface. This damn bird was going to kill her. Not to mention the huge hole he put in her wing and the gashes still on her back. Plus he forced her to change in ten seconds flat. She only did that once and she was flat on her back for weeks. The bat released the bird and focused on getting to the surface. That was her only concern and the fear of him killing her was the only thing keeping her going.
Finally she reached the surface after what seemed like hours and she attempted to take to the sky, but the wetness of her wings made it hard for her to get out of the water. So instead she opted for swimming to the shore and taking off from there. Only using one wing the bat climbed onto the rocky shore, tearing her wing more. A strangled cry escaped her as she folded her wounded wing into her side and made her way across the shore. The bat took a deep breath and shifted back into her human form. The effort of all the shifting she had done that day was weighing on her as she pulled herself up to the lighthouse. Exhausted she leaned against the side of the lighthouse, her breath coming fast and shallow. One eye didn’t want to work properly and her right arm was torn and bleeding, not to mention her back was throbbing painfully. Eyes to the sky the female reached down and blindly grabbed the knife she had strapped to her ankle. It was a precaution she took whenever she went out, and she always had a knife on her.
Knife in hand, the female shook her damp hair out of her face. A savage expression had crossed her face as she waited watching the water. He would be back and he would be pissed. Why oh why did she seem to catch the attention of all the things that wanted to kill her? Couldn’t she have a descent meeting with people? The female gripped the knife tighter as she fought the exhaustion that seemed to weigh on her. Her eyes were growing heavy and only the bitter chill of the wind on her naked, wet body was keeping her from collapsing.
”I need to stop getting into these situations. What the fuck.”
The female muttered to herself as she stared across the lake to the pier. If only she could find a way to get over there maybe she wouldn’t have to deal with this stupid feather brain anymore.

Flying So High Above. Not A Care In The World _______________________ Once again he hit his target full force, however this time he had been too low to maintain his flight. Had she stayed human and he imagined she would of been killed outright. However, by shifting she had originally presented him with a problem. In the split seconds before he hit her, he was able to locate her own claws, now easier to spot than if she had been human. His legs forward, he had to choose between flight and being cut or crashing and keeping her claws from him. Crashing into the water, he could feel her grabbing at his legs, luckily hardened with a bone structure. Pushing away from her, he used his wings to swim down into the dark abyss below. Unlike the bat he had been attacking, birds are able to continue flying even when wet. Splashes above him revealed she was not dead and that the surprise attacks might not work. He would need to have her injury herself. Like a Great White attacking a seal, he powered his body up towards the surface, exploding through the top layer of the water in a cloud of water. With a heavy and loud flap of his wings, he managed to only just keep himself above the water, the second flap raising him higher and he swooped down across the surface of the water to pick up speed to fly up, careful not to go near the flailing bat. Landing on the top of the lighthouse once more, he shook his body and began to dry himself, looking down every few seconds to keep an eye on where the bat was. Once again she was on the shore below, this time he could easily see her injury. His best bet would be keep out of reach and try knock her off the rocks. Or get her to come to him. Peering over the edge, he let out a screech, revealing himself to her, as if to mock her injuries. She had a knife and he had plenty of space between her and him. The odds were already in his favour. This was just getting fucking rediculous. If he was going to continue to screw with her then she'd take the game to a place where she could fight back. The female attempted to flex her right fingers but only succeeded in getting it to twitch. Annoyance filtered through her, as she looked up to the sky. The bird had perched himself atop the lighthouse and was waiting for her next move. The female turned her attention away from his annoying cry and to the glowing lights of Navy Pier. With one arm how far could she make it? How far could she get into the city? If it was anything to get her out of the water and get her on dry land then it didn't matter. With one final glance at the bird above her, the female dove in the water for what seemed like the millionth time that night. The chill of the water seemed to bite at her harder this time around then it had before. That little bit of chill was all she needed to get herself moving.
Still in her human form the female swam her way toward the Pier. She ignored the screams of protest coming from ehr body telling her to stop. The sharp smell of blood filled her nose along with the stank of fish. The Pier grew closer and closer as she crossed the water. Once there she found a ladder which she began to climb using only one arm. The cries from the people above hit her but she ignored them as she vaulted herself over the railing and took off in a sprint. Her arm, though torn, had stopped bleeding because of the water and she could feel it slowly heal itself. The pain though was gone. All pain had numbed with the cold as her bare feet pounded on the concret of the Pier. Adrenaline pumped through her and she had to fight back her instinct to change. Fear told her she was safer in her bat form, but knowledge told her to stay human for now. The female left the Pier and pounded down the street, ignoring the yells and shouts of people she passed. The tall buildings of Chicago loomed before her and the female pressed forward.
She reached the Mag Mile and ducked into an alley way. Her breath came in fast as she leaned against the wall. That bird was crazy and with her luck he probably followed her all the way here. Exhuastion made her knees weak and they almost gave out but she caught herself. All the running had dried her off and her hair hung wild around her face. All the while she still had her knife, never having dropped it, but she didn't need the knife. With a cry of rage she drove the knife deep into the brick of the wall. The hell with it. The female let out an echoing scream as the change rocked through her again. With a painful push, the female took to the air. A little unstable at first, but she made due with the shrinking holes in her wings. They were healing themselves but it would take some time but until then she would have to make deal with it.
Once above the buildings the female hovered, completely run by instincts as she searched for her prey. The female folded her wings against her side and she flew upwards. Higher than she has been before. Finally her eyes locked on the bird and she copied his move and folded herself and dove down right on top of him. He thought he was the biggest predator so why would he have to look up. Last minute she copied his move and added a small spin to it claws extended as she flew right down ontop of him....

Flying So High Above. Not A Care In The World _______________________ Clearly seeing him, the woman appeared to ignore him and looked out across the water. What was she up to? Shifting his head from side to side in a robotic motion with pauses, he tried to locate where she was looking and all he could assume was that she was looking at the pier, which was a fair distance away. In a spectacular splash, she jumped into the water after a final look up at him. Deciding he was dry enough to fly, he simply rolled forward and glided off the top of the lighthouse, circling around her as she swam, watching her every move. There was only a few boats out in that area, although there was a large collection to their east full of drunken adults, most likely on their spring break that they did over here. With no clouds in the sky, he kept his flaps to a minimum to avoid detection from the humans. It felt like forever, her tired and pathetic swim across the water began to bore Malakai. After all that she'd just run away? By simply being the only one in the sky he had shown he was the superior of the two and that was more than a decent kill could do for him. Having what he could only assume was the top predator in the area fear him would do wonders for his ego. Perhaps on ground she was weak and exposed, but the skies had been her domain for an unknown amount of time. He had quite literally knocked her out the sky to take it by force. Besides the odd demon, he had very little to fear in the sky. Whilst his thoughts had trailed on, she had reached the pier and he flew up in altitude to avoid humans spotting him. It wasn't a problem for him, his keen sight keeping tabs on her movements. Without the worry of a wall blocking his sight as he trailed, he circled above her as she hide within the alley. Dropping down towards the roof tops he was looking for a way into the alley when he spotted her shooting up into the sky. Had he not been tracking her he would of never seen her go up. Knowing that most bats couldn't fly as high as a Peregrine, he almost set off upwards but noticed her new style of flight. She was mimicking his earlier attack. The only problem was that she had never done it to his knowledge and he knew the counters to his own attack. Lining up for a long alleyway, he reached the first end of it as she came hurtling down. In a corkscrew spiral, he dropped into the alleyway out of her path and glided down the alley before shooting up into the sky at top speed, leaving her down below in seconds. Circling around, he watched her for her next move.

The bat flew down towards him hoping she would catch him off guard. No dice. He wasn't as stupid as she had hoped he would have been. Figures he would have realized she was using his own technique against him. The bat watched as the bird dove down and then shot up high into the sky. Realizing that she would have no way to stop herself with the speeds she was flying at, the bat dove down into the alleyway. The only thing she could do was change her direction so that she landed in the dumpster. The bat spread her wings to slow the impact but then folded them back in. No need to break anything when landing.
The female crashed into the dumpster giving a cry of pain before her body could no longer take it anymore. She shifted back into her human form as the dumspter slid back and crashed into the back wall of the alley. The pain sliced through her body and for a moment she almost blacked out. Her fear of dying caused her to keep from going under. For a moment all she could do was just lay in the dented and destroyed dumpster. Nothing broken as far as she could tell but she had caught her wing on a fire escape and from the dumpster she was covered in scratches. Sadly the garbage men had just emptied it so there was nothing to soften her fall. Dazed and sore the female pulled herself out of the dumpster and fell on the ground. It was so cool and comforting she almost let exhaustion take over.
The noise of the city filled her ears and her eyes shot open. No way was she going to sleep here. Fuck the bird. The female used the wall to pull herself up and she limped along the wall until she got to her knife where she pulled it out of the wall. The force almost knocking her over, but she gained her balance and looked up at the sky. Her eyes settled on the bird and with a huge effort she raised her left hand and flicked the bird off. Fuck him. She was a cardiac doctor not a fighter. She would not be like her parents and her brother.
"You win you fucking bird. You win. I'm beat."
The female shouted up at the bird leaning against the wall. Her energy was draining fast and finally her legs gave out from underneath her. She crashed to the ground and slumped over. The sharp smell of blood filled her nose as she leaned over on the ground. It was cold and comforting and right now the only thing that would support her. Exhaustion finally took its toll on her and the female let the blackness consume her. All the pain in the world seemed to vanish as she welcomed the darkness with open arms. Her eyes closed and the knife slipped from her hand as she finally went under.

Flying So High Above. Not A Care In The World _______________________ As he came to swoop into his first circulation of the skies, he observed her in the later stages of her crash, missing how she had gone from above him to the ground. With a great thud she had crashed into a dumpster. It reminded him of the old cartoons he would see on the tv back home. All he could do was circle and wait for a response. He didn't want to risk landing and checking on her only to be attacked on the ground. She wasn't far from where he'd seen that knife. Looking around the alley, he located it in a nearby wall. Whilst he was thinking over what to do, she began to slowly emerge from the dumpster, clearly injured. He watched with amusement as she almost passed out before heading for the knife. She was far more injured than he had expected and all he had to do was let her make her own mistakes. After cursing into the sky, she slumped down the wall and appeared to pass out. He remained in the sky for a moment, watching the knife in her hand slip from her grip. It could easily be a trap but he was curious. In a steep dive, he dropped into the alleyway and shifted into his human form as he glided to a soft stop, landing as he began to walk. He wore basic clothes, a dark shirt and trousers with a long coat. Biological clothing they called it, merged with his very skin. The latest craze for the shifters. Never having to worry about loosing their clothes anymore. Like this naked woman had. Picking up the knife, he placed it in his pocket and gave her a slight nudge with a kick. Looking over her, he found it amusing how he got to have a fight and see some tits in one night.

Darkness never really was a bad thing. Usually people enjoy the darkness, but the female didn't quite enjoy it anymore. It seemed to be her one escape from that damn bird, but when she opened her eyes there he was; standing before her fully clothed. She knew it was him because he reaked of bird and feathers. The female tried to lunge at him but she was to tired to even move. She just laid on the ground staring at his feet. How could she have lost? This was her home and she lost it to that bastard of a bird.
"I just want to say I hope you burn in hell. I really do."
The female growled at him as she tested her strength. It seemed to have returned somewhat but she was still weak. What she needed to do was really get some sleep but now that she thought about it being in the middle of chicago beaten up and naked in an alley was probably gonna get her raped. Atleast she could push herself so that she could sit up now. Fuck that she was totally exposed. Not that it really mattered anymore. The female sighed and attempted to comb the knots out of her hair but after her fingers caught in the first few she gave up.
"Alright fine look whatever you can have the sky in Chicago, but I can't move right now because of you and I need to get to my loft. Its just around the corner on the top floor. You think you could help me out a little?"
The only reason she was asking him was because she had realized, at that moment, that he had only been playing with her. It had all been an ego trip. More like a power play. Stupid male ego, she growled to herself as she tried to push herself up to her feet. Her arm throbbed once and she almost tipped over as the tears in her right arm pounded in her. The female clutched her arm close and bit her lip to keep from crying out. That son of a bitch. She was going to slap him. Just one slap. Atleast she would give it to him when she could move. Which might take a while.

Flying So High Above. Not A Care In The World _______________________ Standing still, he didn't even move as she made a pathetic attempt to lunge at him and he simply looked down on her as she hit the ground. Once more she cursed at him and he looked down at her, emotionless. He wasn't giving his emotions away and he was observing more at this point. However, when she told him he could have the skies, he smiled and listened to her explain she didn't have far to go. Turning, he pointed to the end, starting with the left and then the right, looking back to her to see which way her place was. Once he got the answer, he turned back to face her. With a sudden burst, he shifted into his bird form, grabbing her by the shoulders and taking off into the sky vertically. Looping backwards, he swung down to the building she had pointed to and landed on the roof, dropping her as he shifted back. Adjusting the collar of his coat, he placed his hand into his pocket and took out the knife she'd dropped. Standing over her, he put the blade to her throat and pulled her head back. "Slice." Throwing the knife off the edge of the building, he let go of her and took a few steps back, taking out a cigarette to smoke, offering her one. "Mock execution. Just so it's official. My name is Malakai Holloway and I work for the Gorchakov family. You will fear that name. So tell me, do you reside here normally or do you travel around?" There was no need to be friendly but he didn't want to be completely hostile. His confidence had increased that night and he would always have that underlying thought that she could win if she ever tried to attack him.

With narrowed eyes the female watched as the man changed back into his bird form. Her shoulders stung a little as his talons dug into her shoulders, but she didn't fight as he lifted her off the ground and up to the top of the building. When he dropped her she hit the ground rolling, a string of swears coming from her as she stopped rolling. God she needed a drink. A heavily laced drink with lots of ice. The female promised herself as she tested her strength and propped herself up. Just as she sat up, her head was pulled back and her knife was held to her throat. The urge to swing at him was great but the female quietly took the attack. Eyes following her own knife over the edge of the building, the female sighed and brought her attention back to the man. If that had been her favorite knife, he would have been a dead man by now, she mused quietly to herself.
The female scanned the roof top and smiled as her eyes rested on her pile of clothing. So that's where she left them. Figures. Taking a deep breath, the female pulled herself to her feet. At first she was a little shaky but her balance soon returned to her and she made her way to her clothes. Everything seemed to be there, which yet again made her smile. As she listened to the man talk about where he worked and some name she should fear, the female pulled on her black panties and her black bra. Her skinny jeans were next and then she threw on the blue and white checked button up shirt as she bent down and scooped up her weapons that laid there. One of them was just a small pistol that she tucked in her belt and the other was a longer hunting kinfe then the one she had and that she tucked in the holder on her ankle. Once everything was in place, the female walked over the Malakai and took the offered cigarette, lighting it up with the lighter from her pocket. She took a long drag and let the smoke spill from her lips.
"Oh shut up and save your ego crap for someone else."
The female growled at him as she took another drag from her cigarette already feeling the tension roll out of her. She never was one for smoking but every now and then she didn't mind it. For a moment she let the sounds of the streets below fill her ears. This was home. It was busy but not as busy as New York. Chicago was a city she loved. She recalled her actions throughout the night and shook her head. Normally she wouldn't have been as violent as she was, but the loss of one of her patients had really gotten to her. That's what it was. One of the patients.
"My name is Leigh Hunt and I used to live out here but I moved to New York to work as a Cardiac doctor in Lenox Hill Hospital."
Leigh muttered around her cigarette as she took yet another long drag from her cigarette. Saddness crept through her as she remembered fighting for her patients life. Shaking her head, she let her eyes roam over Malakai and to her surprise he wasn't half bad looking. Nice build. Strong. She did love her men. Leigh smiled as she took a drag on her cigarette and met his eyes.

Flying So High Above. Not A Care In The World _______________________ Once he finished speaking, he crossed his hands over one another in front of his waist, watching her uncover some clothes clearly left that for her to change back into. It suggested that this was a normal routine and that he had interrupted it. She began to arm herself as well and he was slightly on edge, watching where each weapon went and how hard it would be to remove. Her style of clothing seemed to be fairly up to date, Malakai being dressed in fairly basic clothes, still prototypes of the bio-suit. She went on to curse him and he showed no emotion once more. Having taken the cigarette he offered and the fact that she had not left him immediately was something to take into consideration. "By simply staying here I would have to assume that you are not going to leave because of my, as you said, ego crap."Taking a drag of his own cigarette upon lighting it, he listened to her brief introduction and found it interesting how they came from the same city yet came all this way. For Malakai he was flying from New York to each of the big cities once a week to map out the good places to hunt. The whole evening here had been to try the locals and remove any other predators from the sky. "I don't think I need to say who owns the skies of New York. Though it's more of a challenge than here. What is it about New York that attracts us immortals? And doctor? I think I love the idea of my doctor turning into a giant bat at night. I'm not familiar with that hospital though, rather new to America and New York alike. English you see. Though the accent may of given me away."

this world will never be what I expect it and if I don't don't belong who would have guessed it

Leigh's eyes narrowed as she took a long drag from her cigarette. She let the smoke curl up from her lips and be carried off by the wind. A snarky remark bubbled to her lips but she snuffed it with yet another drag on her cigarette. It was pretty low and she'd need another one. Her eyes shifted to Malakai. No need to as ego boy for another. With years of practice, the female flicked her cigarette butt over the roof and dug for her own back of cigs in her back pocket. Pulling out the crumpled pack she snatched a cig and placed it between her lips. She might just have more than one cigarette tonight.
"The only reason I am still up here with you is because I feel bad for being an ass to you. Yeah whatever you attacked me, but I usually don't get that violent."
Why she was trying to apologize for her behavior was beyond her, but it really bugged her that she had acted out like that. Leigh lit up her second smoke and took a drag from it. She was acting like her brother had after her parents were killed. The female shook her head again and stretched her arms above her head. A slight twinge came from her right arm but nothing more. Upon inspection Leigh noticed that the skin was beginning to heal but it was scarring up pretty bad. Great more wounds. His comments about the immortals made her turn her attention back to Malakai.
"Well it just seems like the place to be. I went out there to help Lenox Hill get their medical programs working and things like that. Just because I am a were-bat doesn't mean anything. My patients have no clue that I fly above the city at night. I'd like to keep it that way."
She snapped threateningly at him as she walked to the edge of the roof. Leigh had noticed when his guard snapped back up at the site of her weapons. Good let him know he may have won the battle but that doesn't mean he was the better predator. She had the moves and the skills but having lost a patient had totally messed with her. The female leaned against the half wall on the roof and looked out over the city. It was such a beautiful place at night. So full of life. Leigh smiled sadly as her unbuttoned shirt caught wind and blew about her.
"I don't have to explain anything to you but I lost a patient back in New York. One we had been desperately trying to save. He finally gave up and wouldn't fight anymore. I didn't want to believe it. There was still so much we could have done for him but he just gave up. Why the fuck would a person just give up like that?"
Leigh growled at no one as she took a drag from her cigarette. The smoke danced about her and left into the night. She forced herself to take a deep breath. Dammit she was getting pissy again. If she didn't do something soon then she was going to freak out again. Her thoughts traveled back to Malakai and her face twisted in annoyance. That bastard. She'd get him for playing with her. Just one slap or punch would be enough to satisfy her. If there was one thing she hated more than losing a patient is was being played and Malakai had totally played her. The female took a drag from her cigarette and then threw off the roof. She turned back to face Malakai with her zipo lighter in hand. She flicked it back and forth, everytime it opened a blue flame would flash up then disappear when it closed.
"So let me guess you're here for hunting reasons? You being a predator I wouldn't doubt that's what the reason was. But word to the wise, next time you decided to hunt don't go for something larger than you."
Leigh snapped the Zipo closed and tucked it into her bra. Her eyes held light amusement to them as she began to get back to her normal self. Not this agressive bitch who likes to snap at every little thing a person does. Not anything like her mother or her brother. She was different than them, that's why she was a doctor and the had been in the military. Simple as that.
