jumping over the turnstile rowan made her way down the stairwell. nobody would have noticed, though rowan had a way of getting by without ever being noticed that she had never paid to ride the subway. with so many people going through here every day not everyone could get by, staring at the people who were sitting on the benches waiting for whatever they were doing here. turning to Xavier, she looked at him for any kind of clue of what they were doing there. or if it was going to be some kind of exercise. "Why do their throats look like they are popping out? Like a bulge keeps going by?" rowan asked looking at each of the people there. Their throats seemed to be drawing her toward them. she didn't want to do anything rash, considering they could easily have the police down there in a few minutes, with so many cops roaming around new york city.
it seemed unwise to just go up to them and ask them to come along with her, but she seemed a little hesitant to go anywhere at the moment. at least until she figured out what they were doing there. she had a feeling it was so she knew how to hunt for herself to get the blood that all vampires craved. maybe that was why xavier was drawn to her. but why he didn't drink any of it while she was still human was his own reasoning. she had readjusted the bag filled with art supplies on her shoulder, unsure of where she had wanted to put it even though she figured they would have gone to her apartment to allow her to drop the stuff off and change her appearance, but it seemed the night had other plans for them with her first night as someone of the darkness. 444 words. lord xavier is starring with the allowance of other guests to join. the subway is the location. here is the outfit. |

The vampire lord walked alongside his latest fledgling slave, keeping in perfect step as they headed towards the subway. He wanted somewhere quiet but with enough humans lingering about so that Rowan could have her first meal as a vampire. Had he taken her to one of the many clubs, she would have fallen flat on her face, running before she could walk, and would have probably ended up being gunned to the ground – but this time it wouldn't be him pulling the trigger. It had been quite some time since he had had to train up another vampire, he usually left it to one of his henchmen, but they were few and far between here.
Taking a sip from the coffee he had purchased en route, he felt the scorched, blackened liquid course down his throat. He could feel himself getting tired and the night had only started, he put it down to having turned the human girl, he was definitely out of shape and out of practice. What he needed was a new nemesis, to see some gory action, for him to be able to really assess how much training he would need to reach physical perfection once more. The ability to control fire was beginning to take its toll, which had never shown him any bother in the past; he couldn't figure it out although he dismissed it as him growing old.
Nonsense, he thought, growing old had nothing to do with it. It was down to him having no worthy competition; he was growing lethargic by gobbling up so many decadent and debauched delights here in the West. Throwing his coffee cup in a bin, the vampire lord vaulted the turnstile in perfect unison with the vampire girl. Breaking the law of humans was second nature to Lord Xavier; it almost came as naturally to him as breaking the necks of humans.
Licking his lips, he listened to the girl question her visual perceptions of the humans lingering around. Hands slipping into his trouser pockets as they approached a platform, he explained, "You're hallucinating, vampire." His own maroon eyes scanned the necks of the humans around him. "In the same way a human will hallucinate if it's been without water for a long time."
Slowing his pace as he stepped down onto the platform from the stairs, eyes scanning the grim surroundings: disused newspapers, puddles of spilled beer, lashings of urine, bubbling pits of vomit, husks of humanity lingering in their shabby outfits and costumes. It was all so putrid, an accurate display of everything he loathed about humanity. "And you've never had blood before. All fledglings go through this, but there's one cure for it." He looked down at her then back to the gormless, waiting humans. "But you must choose wisely."

So she was without the fuel of blood to keep her from seeing such things on the humans' throats. She could only wonder how such things could go unnoticed from the two of them standing there looking at the group of people who could be their dinner that night and her first taste of blood. Rowan had looked at each of the individuals in turn to see which would suit her the best. At least the easiest to take down.
She viewed a homeless man, trying to sleep in a little nook in the wall, a business man waiting for the subway sitting on a bench with his laptop out, a overly large woman taking an entire bench to herself talking to herself about the people around her. Obviously they scared the woman, at least that was what Rowan got from her little rambling.
"Who would you choose? The woman on the bench is by far a waste of time. She's finding it a hard time to sit there with so many people around. Thinks everyone is out to get her. The business man with the laptop on his lap, is oblivious to those around him while he waits. His work is by far more important to those around him. The homeless man in the nook, is trying to get some sleep, but he looks by far too dirty to even touch. He's out of the question." rowan had only voiced her observations, trying to figure out her best choice to go for.
There was a woman with a child on her hip and a child near her feet. Rowan could have easily gone for one them, but it seemed wise not to. As she probably would have had to get rid of the children as well and it drew too much attention to herself. To risky for such a beginner. She would choose someone by far more interesting to gather.
Taking leave from Xavier's side, she walked away from him with an apparent limp to gain the attention of someone who would help her. Her appearance would have caught the attention of someone who would have been willing to help her. Tripping over her own feet, she fell to the floor in apparent pain to gain the attention of someone with a kind heart.
The overly large, plump woman, had gotten from her seat on the entire bench to come over her to help her. Rowan was quick to steer her away. "Get away from me, you pig!" the snarl in her voice was quick to put the woman in her place as she quickly went back to her seat as a goth boy came over to help her. "Here, let me help you. You look like you just came out of a horror movie." Rowan offered his help as he helped move her down the area to a sparely lit hallway and a practically empty corridor. Helping her to a bench, he quickly checked her out, to make sure she was alright.
A look of confusion had came across his face when he noticed she was not bleeding at any entry hole of her jeans. "What is this madness? You have blood on your jeans, but no blood is pooling out!"
"Of course. They healed, darling." Rowan was quick to pull her hand over his mouth as she stood up and pulled him into the shadows. She had him up against a wall as she stroked his cheek before she leaned into the nook of his neck to sink the newly pair of fangs into his soft skin. His gasp of air, alarmed her, but she had her hand over his mouth to keep him from screaming as she felt the warm liquid flow into her mouth. She had pulled away with her fill complete. Rowan could only stop and watch as the man collapsed to the ground. She didn't take everything from him. Maybe he was having a hard time catching his breath, he did try to squirm away from her as she had him pinned to the wall.
Rowan still wanted more of the yummy liquid. No one had saw what had happened to her victim and he was stored in a cool place until he decided to regain his senses to find out that she was gone and he was alone with two marks in his neck. She stood in the darken area until she figured out what else she wanted to do here or if Xavier had been out on the hunt as well, to wait for him. 774 words. lord xavier is starring. the subway is the location.

Listening to the vampire fledgling voice aloud her thought processes, the task of selecting prey from the few humans that clung desperately to reality. They blocked out the idea that there could ever be such monsters as Lord Xavier and his slaves lurking around every corner. He was patient with her, listening to each word she uttered but choosing not to respond. She needed to make the first kill on her own, to prove that he hadn't made a mistake in turning her into a child of the night – as he had said before to her, if she ended up disappointing him, he would start shooting her legs off again, and making sure they could never grow back.
Following her movements passively with his tired eyes, the vampire lord moved towards one of the benches, fishing his platinum cigarette case from his pocket. Opening it slowly, he pulled one of the pristine, slim cigarettes out and held it between his right index and middle finger as he returned the case to its bed. Pushing it into his mouth, cupping the end to light it with his Zippo, the vampire lord sat down next to the man tapping away at his laptop.
The man stared intently at his screen, unleashing a torrent of tap-tap-tapping every so often. Lord Xavier leaned back, folding his arms tightly as his eyes followed his fledgling disappear into the shadows with her first catch. Taking the cigarette away from his hungry mouth, the vampire spoke aloud to the man, "I certainly didn't expect to find you down here." Subsequent silence followed for a couple of minutes, Xavier just continuing to smoke as his nostrils flared, taking in the scent of the freshly bitten human, suffocating screams in the shadows.
"What do you want, Xavier?" asked a cold voice.
A dark grin exploded onto the vampire lord's mouth, his sluggish attitude instantly shrugged off as adrenaline started coursing through his body. He took the cigarette away from his mouth and idly tapped it, sending a cascade of ash down onto the concrete floor below. Tonight was proving to be full of surprises.
"Nothing. Although I'm curious as to what you intend to do about that," he replied, pointing lazily at the shadows Rowan had taken shelter in.
The man on the bench closed his laptop slowly and slipped it into a briefcase-style bag. Holding the bag on his knees, the man sighed, "Kill her. You know I have to." His hand moved around inside the bag, until it had finally grasped the cool metal handle of his personal firearm.
Lord Xavier had already started laughing as the hunter withdrew his semi-automatic pistol from the briefcase, lining it up with the side of the vampire's head. The man squeezed the trigger and sent a bullet straight into the side of the vampire's head, not waiting to watch as blood ricocheted back, spraying the man a little. As Xavier's body fell to the right, toppling off the bench, he continued to laugh as the lights in his eyes blinked out.
Crashing onto the floor, blood spilling over his face, people running in panic-stricken terror as the hunter advanced towards the shadows – he'd been clever, shooting the vampire lord with a blessed silver bullet, forcing him to regenerate at a slower rate. The last thought he had before being consumed by unconsciousness was over the possible outcomes of the hunter facing a young yet blood-crazed vampiress. It was definitely going to be fun.

Rowan had left the unconscious man in the shadows after she had been finished with him and move to change a different corridor. she had even jumped down onto the tracks to try and shake the hunter off her tail. she knew he had been the wrong kind of business to deal with it. She had saw Xavier sitting there after she had let the man go. Xavier had planned this, hadn't he? Had this ordeal been some kind of trick to teach her how to handle hunters on her own? Well it wasn't exactly working.
Running on the tracks seemed like a stupid thing to do, but it was easier to go into the tunnels than try and go out on the streets to avoid the hunter. Too many people true, but the tunnels of the subway seemed like a better way to get rid of a hunter, especially one that would have been crushed by any oncoming trains without any way of escaping it. Rowan had gone deep into the tunnels avoiding any train that came by. None seemed to be running toward her as she ran on the tracks deep into the tunnels of the underground.
It seemed petty that she was running away, but she wasn't quite sure what she was doing here. With the lack of light, Rowan could only wonder how the hunter could get this far into the tunnels without stumbling over anything. She had walked into a dead end tunnel and stopped running figuring she was safe from the hunter with the darkness of the tunnel to protect her location. 344 words. lord xavier is starring. the subway tunnel is the location.

With a spray of ancient vampiric blood covering his right arm and some of his pressed white shirt, the hunter advanced across the platform towards the area he had seen the vampiress disappear into. He held his pistol with both hands, aiming it down at the ground in front of him as the civilians ran from the subway station. They were stricken with fear at witnessing a man being shot clean in the head, dead to the world or so they assumed. The hunter would have to act fast before the authorities turned up to put a stop to his doings, despite him trying to defend the human race. C'est la vie.
Approaching the edge of the platform, the hunter crouched down and slipped off, releasing his left hand from gripping the pistol as he steadied himself on the tracks. His eyes scanned left and right, checking for any oncoming trains but he detected nothing. He would have certainly have to act quickly and despatch the vampiress because this wasn't an ideal setting for a hunt.
Squeezing a button on the handle of his pistol, the hunter turned on a flashlight mounted on the firearm itself. Having done so, he gripped the gun with both hands once again; safe in the knowledge he had at least two hours of run time before the flashlight failed on him. So, he was walking on tracks with the threat of being squashed by an oncoming train with a vampire female lurking in the shadows his light couldn't reach. It wasn't ideal but at least he could see something of the tunnel ahead, but he was conscious of the superhuman eyesight that vampires possessed.
Advancing further into the belly of the underground system, the hunter calmed his breathing and began scanning his surroundings, flashing his light this way and that, as soon as it picked up the figure of the vampiress he would riddle her body with his bullets. Having had plenty of training, he knew to aim for the head and heart, and while his bullets weren't enough to kill Lord Xavier, they certainly would be enough to silence a fledgling like the one he was hunting right now.
Narrowing his eyes, slowing to a halt to listen to the heavy steps of the fleeing vampiress, the hunter began walking down a tunnel veering off from the main one. Judging from the silence, he reckoned this one lead to a dead end, that the female was trapped like a rat waiting to be put out of its miserable little existence. Moving deeper into the tunnel, pistol and flashlight trained dead ahead, all he could do now was wait until he reached the end.
