(Tis ok...mine couldn't have been any better.)
Alana smiled brightly as she gripped his hand gently and led him out of the sub way car right before it started off again. "We just go up the street from here and to the house area place. Mother Abigail doesn't like taxis to know exactly where the house is. She'd rather we just walk. I don't mind though. You can see the stars!" Alana babbled on as she took Coin up towards the streets from the subway.
The night was slightly chilly as it was getting close to fall. Alana smiled at the crisp air. It always brought new scents to her nose and she couldn't help but inhale them all. However, it might have been the wrong time to do so as a car passed and shot her lungs through with exhaust.
Alana flew into a coughing fit and shook from head to foot. "I don't like cars." She grumbled as she moved closer to Coins' side.

Being lead by a child seemed a little strange. He stumbled a lot, having to be bent over even in his short size. Every crack in the sidewalk and even the stairs threw him off as he was pulled by the small hand. Thankfully it didn't take long until they were outside again. The cool kiss of air on his face told him it was night; he had been on the train all day. How interesting. So they would walk, that was fine, he was used to walking. Cars scared him, they were loud and moved fast and you could feel everything you went over. Trains were different, you had a set rout, you can’t divert from it. Hearing her statement and her cough he knelt down and reached for her.
“I know Aly, it’s alright. We’ll move away from them, they won’t be around to hurt, okay? What do the stars look like, can you see them?” He missed those.

Alana smiled at the change in subject. She moved quickly towards Coin and nodded as she pointed up wards. "Yeah! Well, kinda. The street lights make it hard but their up there! I know it! At the house you can see them really good!" Alana smiled again, even brighter than before as she moved to put her bear in her bag.
The black haired doll she normally kept with her was sitting in a corner, its hand having been sticking from the bag. Alana moved the doll back into a more comfortable position before putting the bear in. Afterwards, she took out two water bottles and handed one over to Coin. "Mother Abigail always gives me three for the day. I already drank one." Alana stated carefully as she looked down.
In all truth, Alana hadn't drank the other bottle of water. She'd given it to a group of puppies she found in an alley. They were so skinny and she wished she could have taken them home with her! But the man at the subway station said dogs weren't allowed in his train. Alana had pouted and begged but to no avail. The puppies were taken to the pound.

They were there. The stars were over head. Still there, shining and guarding the moon. She fussed around with her bag, allowing him to stand and stretch a bit. Sitting so long, then running around hunched over got tiring after a time. Feeling plastic pushed against his hand he took it, realizing it was a bottle. Water? Yes, she was saying that now. Water was good, he hadn’t drunk anything on the train. Opening it he took a sip, glad that it was still a little cool.
“Thank you Aly, it’s just what I needed. You’re going to have to be my eyes, okay? I’ll make sure you’re safe, but you have to show me the way to go.” And he meant it. Ears prepped and ready for every sound of every movement, he was going to make sure that no one hurt her without finding jaws and claws of an adult.

Alana cocked an eye brow. "What do you mean your eyes?" Alana questioned. She was confused now. Coudn't he see on his own? Yes, it was rude to question such a thing but it wasn't as if Alana could just read his mind and find out. It wasn't what a lycan could do. She knew that was only a vampire power. Alana's lavender eyes moved down the street. It wasn't crowded but it wasn't a small group of people either. She could have just moved past their legs without notice but she didn't mind the change.
She was helping someone and that was all the mattered. Alana took Coins' hand and lifted her arm so he didn't have to bend so far. "You don't have to answer me if you don't want to. I know that it was mean of me to ask about it." Alana stated, not looking down at her feet as her voice would have suggested but looking ahead so she could find her way home and food for Coin.

A sad smile rose from her question as he capped his drink and shoved it in his pocket. If adults asked him that question he would have ignored them, thinking they were stupid. But children didn’t know. They were new at this after all. Well, kind of. He didn’t understand it when it had happened to him. If you had eyes, how could you not see? She took his hand and started to lead him through the throng of people.
“No, it’s okay. If you don’t ask you don’t learn, right? My eyes don’t work anymore. They haven’t for a very long time.” Stepping carefully he kept half a mind on around them. Everything sounded okay, a few stray dogs, one other homeless man that might be iffy, but nothing so far that felt like trouble.

Alana let out a small 'Oh' and kept moving her feet. The wind blew roughly and she squinted her eyes. People walked by them, going over to cars and even more entering strange buildings with flashy lights. Alana made a small noise as a car honked loudly next to them and shuddered as she moved closer to Coin. She hated loud noises. Ever since hearing her mother screaming and then dying. Alana pushed the thoughts into the back of her mind. Why must she always think about that night?
Alana moved through the trong of people and then gently turned so they were on a less crowded street. It was a bit darker here though, but that also meant they were closer to Alana's home. That was the good part about all of this. If they were closer, it mean that Abigail's wolves were roaming the forests. "There might be some werewolves in the woods now, Coin. It's okay, they won't hurt us. They just make sure when I'm coming home so Mother Abigail can be at the top of the drive way. She gives me rides of her back!" Alana exclaimed brightly, thinking of Abigail's white wolf form.

The warning was taken to heart, as he started to smell the faint, and slightly old, musk of the species. There were wolves. Lots of them, all over the place! It was exciting, he had never heard of so many in such a place before. Fighting the urge to take on his fur he sped up a little, heart racing. There would be other wolves! And he could talk with them, in a group, maybe even be allowed to stay in his fur once he was there…
He was thinking too far ahead. They might not let him stay, and even if they did there was no one hundred guarantee that he would stay. He was so used to being alone, on some street somewhere. He missed being a pet though. Sad as that may sound. Being caged, and leashed like he had been for so long had made him yearn for a warm fire to curl up by. He didn't mind at all being an over grown dog, he’d live like that if he was allowed. But there was such a prejudice against the weres out there it was dangerous.
“Rides, huh?” His mind was only half on what she was saying.

Alana nodded with a large smile. "Yeah! Mother Abigail is so pretty when she's a wolf! She says that when I get old enough to be a wolf when ever I want, she'll teach me!" Alana explained proudly. She was almost old enough and she couldn't wait for the day to come. Two more full moons and she'd be there. Only two more months to go. "Come on! Down here!" Alana beamed as she moved to the left, pulling him with surprising strength.
Alana knew who the woman was that stood before them. It was Mother Abigail Clearwater. Her long curls the same color as Alana's, if not a bit more golden, and emerald green eyes looked like a godess to Alana. Actually, it was as if Alana was ever orphaned when she saw Abigail standing there. "Mommy!" Alana exclaimed loudly as she released Coin and jumped into Abigails' waiting arms.
~
"Aly, you had me worried! I was about to send Tomas and Robert after you and you know how much they hate the city." Abigail reprimanded gently, cuddling the small child to her before she saw the man who had come with her. Abigail released Alana and stood up to face the man.
"Good evening, sir. Thank you for bringing my little pup home." Abigail smiled as she stepped forward with a hand held out in greeting.
"Coin, come here!" Alana stated as she ran passed Abigail and took the mans' hand once more. Alana than preceeded to bring the man in front of Abigail and put his hand into hers. "Can he stay here tonight, Mommy? He needs food and all that!"
"Alana, I believe that would be his choice," Abigail began as she looked at Alana with a firm gaze and than back to the man before her, "but it is fine with me. You did bring my little girl back."

Pulled along by the child they rounded the corner and he was over-whelmed by the scent. Wolves! Everywhere wolves! Smiling at the simplicity of it, he slowed to a stop as she let go of his hand, listening patiently as the two greeted each other. It was beautiful. Mother and child, or, he hoped. They acted like it, and smelled similar. No reason to not be mother and daughter. But they caught sight of him, and she thanked him for bringing Aly home. Bowing his head slightly he didn’t sense her hand out.
Until Aly grabbed his hand and put it there! What would he do without her, such a sweet child. Holding the offered hand firm, but gently, he shook it as the two talked. Then he took his hand back and nodded.
“It is no problem, miss. Our numbers are so few, the idea of a child being hurt, let alone a lycan child… and I’m not sure, Miss Abigail. It is very kind of you, but I feel rude just make myself at home. I’m sure you have more than enough inhabitants without having to feed another mouth that just barges in.”

Abigail laughed as the man spoke. She covered her mouth with her hand that she withdrew from their hand shake and spoke through her fingers. "Forgive me for my laughter. It's just that, hardly anyone stays at the main house anymore. We've seperated into our own dens in a way. I had built seperate houses for each of the families and now Aly and I are alone in the large house." Abigail apologized, a few more bits of laughter coming out in her words, "Besides, it would be no problem if what Alana says is true." Abigail stated after she had control over her laughter once more.
Abigail turned her head to the left and glowered into the shadows. "Some friends you have, Aly." Abigail muttered far too low for Coin to hear. The sounds of padding paws could be heard though as two larger lycans burst from the trees and across the drive. Abigail looked quickly to make sure no car drove by at that moment and was releived when she knew no one had seen the wolves.
~
"Please, Coin! Just one night!" Alana begged as she tugged on his hand. It was clear in her voice that her lavender orbs were begging him to agree to both females' invitation. Alana could not allow anyone to go hungry or sleep in the coming rain.
Alana could feel the moisture in the air and the electricity! She shuddered at the thought of a lightening storm and looked on as the two wolves flew into the woods on the opposite side of the road. Mother Abigail would have their tails between her teeth tonight if she could. Alana knew that it was bad for them to expose themselves. What if Coin hadn't been a lycan?! What if he had been a hunter?!

Turning slightly as he heard paws coming, he braced himself, hoping that they were known and not enemies. He had had enough fighting for the year, thank you. But they said that there was no one around, that it was a big house. That scared him a bit, something big and empty. But they were being nice, and Aly really wanted him to stay the night, to eat with them…
“Alright, just the night. I’d love to join you for dinner if you’ll have me.” Smiling slightly he couldn’t help but wonder what Aly had said that encouraged her mother so much. Taking in a stray like that, without another thought… and to be around other wolves…
“The pack, there’s quite a few of them, isn’t there? Those two that passed, and separate dens… I’ve been in New York a while, I’ve never known of a pack here.”

Abigail chuckled lightly as she shook her head, "No, sir. It's not a pack and it sure isn't large either. The house only has six bed rooms and there are only four houses by the woods. My father called it his clan and that is what I shall call it while I lead." Abigail explained as she knelt towards Alana.
The sweet child smiled brightly as she knew what was going to happen now. Abigail passed over the slight coat she had been wearing and than slipped her shoes into Alana's bag. From there, Abigail ran fingers through her blonde curls and stood up once more, feeling the cool pavement beneath her feet. "We would love to have you for dinner, as well. Alana likes to run back to the house. If you would rather not I can have a car sent up to fetch you." Abigail offered.
~
Alana was beside herself as she put on Abigails' coat and than took her bag from the ground where Abigail had put it. Alana was trying not to bounce up and down in glee, but a soft squeel did pass through her lips. "This'll be so much fun!" Alana clapped excitedly as she bounced once again on the balls of her feet.
"Thank you, Mother Abigail, and thank you for staying with us, Coin!" Alana beamed again, turning to face the man. However, Abigail's next statement made her stop all of her excitement.
It would be strange if a wolf didn't run. It was normal, or at least Alana thought. She hoped that Coin would run with them. It would be so much more fun!

“No need miss, thank you though. I’d love a good run. Lead the way.” So it was a clan. How truly interesting. So few, but so many at the same time. His clothes were loose-fitting enough that he was able to change without taking them off. A good thing. The shift started up, a little painful but well worth it. In almost no time a gold wolf with black-tipped ears stood where Colin once did. His name of Coin being clearly seen in his fur color. Bright blond, goldish hue like that of old coins.
Black pads touched the cool ground, making his thick fur stand on end. He could smell the two females in front of him, he could follow easily. Long fingered paws tapped their claws on the roadway in joy. A group of wolves, right here in New York! There was so much to learn here, maybe even a sanctuary now and again. He wasn’t going to abuse their hospitality. But it was possibly a safe place for the time being.

Abigail allowed the wolf to uncurl inside her. The spine crunched and elongated as her ears began to move to the top of her head. She could feel her muzzle begin to extend from where her mouth used to be. She could feel her clothes blend with her white fur that started to grow from her pores. Even then she couldn't keep the gasp from her lips. Yes, the change was painful but it was still well worth it to see the smile upon Alana's face.
Once the change was finished, Abigail stood where she had before as a large white wolf. She knelt down so Alana could climb onto her back and then extended her mind towards Coin. "Please, just follow me up the drive. When we get there I believe dinner should be ready." Abigail spoke, her voice the same as in her human form but ringing through a mind near her.
Alana climbed quickly onto Abigail's back and wrapped her hands into the soft white fur. "Let's go!" Alana whined gently as she jumped as Abigail stood back up onto her feet. The paws were larger than a normal wolf, as were her ears. She could feel the vibrations of distant cars and thunder near Canada. Abigail moved to turn around, her fluffy white tail moving to seemingly brush the stars from the sky.
~
Alana couldn't wait to start the run. She was bouncing upon Abigail's strong back as she sat there, waiting and waiting. It seemed like forever, but than Alana thought of how Abigail could speak in her wolf form. "Oh. You're talking." Alana sighed as she leaned forward to rest her head upon Abigail's wolf one. It was simple and easy as she settled into the soft fur. She could feel herself begin to tire but she couldn't sleep. If she did, she'd fall off.
Alana yawned widely and clutched her bag a little more securly to her chest. She would have to stay awake until they reached the house. She'd wake up in the morning and eat something. Besides, she wasn't really tired. Alana blinked rapidly to stay awake and than sat up. "Can we go now?" She questioned in a far more politer tone then before.
