Colin leaned against the wall, feeling the rumbles of the train and the sounds/smells of the stops. He had nowhere to go, no business to attend to no family to get home and see no reason to be taking the train. But that wasn’t going to stop him. He had applied some time ago for a “disabled” pass, meaning that so long as he held onto that card, he could come and go as he pleased. He did so just to pass time, give him something to do. Made him happy.
And it made for easy pickings. He had already lifted eight wallets, all of which were emptied and put back. He had no idea how much he had made; all bills felt the same. They felt, smelt, and tasted all alike… but the coins were easy to separate and organize. Stuffing his latest catch into his back pocket Colin sighed happily and listened to the wheels again. He could eat hot food tonight, the kind that was cooked. And maybe some new clothes.

A small child sat on the subway train with a brown teddy bear clutched to her chest. She looked like a small angle tucked safely in the confines of a light beige jacket and her white dress with knee length white socks and black shoes. Her blond curls and light lavender eyes finished her angelic expression. It was almost as if one was looking onto Gods' gift other than a lycan child.
A small bag was tucked next to her, the hand of a doll was protruding from the confines where the zipper ended. What was a child like this doing on the subway one may ask? Going home. Well, at least she hoped. The ladies that worked up town weren't really that nice so she might be going to wrong direction and she was tired.
As if on cue she began to yawn. Her young lips parting and her tongue curling. She played the roll well as a human, yes, but she knew she wasn't. She could smell everything and everyone aroud her. A lycan male was in the car with her and the rest were humans. Lycans were almost extinct in New York. It was scary.
The small child hugged her bear closer to her chest as she curled in around herself. She wanted her bed.

Colin heard the announcement, felt the train stop, heard the doors open… and that’s when he smelled it. Another wolf. Small, young… very young. Younger than he. Colin was considered to be young… less than two hundred years old. But this one was younger, even by human standards. A werewolf this young? Was she born like that? How truly interesting. Picking up his small grocery bag that he was carrying his clothes in, he moved down the train to where he smelled her. The poles around the floor and the hand-loops on the ceiling were nice leaders.
“Hello. Is there a chair around here open? And mind if I sit by you?” He was interested. He had never heard of someone so young being a wolf. True, he was bit when he was young… but that was in the middle of nowhere. This was a city… how could something so small be out in the city and a wolf?

The small child jumped slightly as she heard the male wolf she had smelled earlier speak to her. She could tell because of the musk coming from his breath. Only another wolf could have noticed it. She clung to her bear again but nodded her head, lavender eyes wide with innocence.
She wasn't too young, of course, to understand that there was no danger from a male who wished to sit next to her. She knew there could be problems here. However, he was another wolf. If he tried to harm her, her guardian would come after him. The child knew that and didn't worry as much.
The girl was only six-years-old but quite intelligent if she said so herself. Well, at least she liked to think that. Her guardian always told her that, but of course, that could just be something mother figures said. The girl brused her thoughts away, not wishing to go into a semi-daydream right now. She'd save that for bed.

Nothing. No sound, nothing. He knew it was a wolf, female, young… but that was it. Um… great. The train was starting to move again, and Colin shifted on his feet, not sure at all of what to do. Could she not talk? He hoped not… but, maybe she didn’t want him to sit and ignored him?
“Um, is that a no? I’m sorry child, but you’ll have to speak up or something. I’m afraid I can’t see an answer.” Ooh, now how he wanted to start off speaking with someone. But he didn’t know what else to do. He didn't want to be rude and sit down if she didn’t want him there… but at the same time, if she couldn’t speak he was being rude. Ugh, no way to win. Well, at least he tried. She was still a child, maybe she wouldn’t mind?
Though, there could be fear too. He couldn’t tell with her, there was no definite smell to her save for the wolf. Maybe she was afraid of him. Which was smart. Colin didn’t pose a threat to her, but there were a lot of people out there that did. He was glad that she was nervous, though it defeated his purpose… that is, if she was scared… too much thought, just wait.

The child smiled now, looking up at the man with her innocent lavender eyes. "You can sit down." came her gentle childish reply. She sounded much older through her words, but she wasn't. However, she already knew this wolfs' questions. It wasn't hard to know them already.
Everyone wanted to know why Alana Green was so young when transformed. Only one reason to this and that is always what she says. She tells them the truth and then they normally leave. It isn't hard to get them to leave her alone. Not normally though.
The child, Alana, released her teddy bear from such a strong grip and went to pet it on the head. It was a normal action for a child, but not for her. She normally hugged her bears and dressed up her dolls. Not pet them. Maybe this was telling her something.
Alana brushed off the thoughts. Day dreams were too easy to slip into for a child.

Smiling, he sat, glad that she allowed him to do so. So she had a voice, which was good. He wasn’t a big fool then. Leaning back in his seat he rubbed his eyes a bit and enjoyed the sway of the technology under him. There weren’t things like this when he was young. Not this available to the public anyway.
“Thank you. Call me Coin. What’s a young thing like you doing alone on the train full of horrid people? I’d be more afraid for you if you were a little human girl.”
A little blunt, but there was no way to dance around it. They weren’t a common race anymore, with the humans and vampires out to get them. and they didn’t multiply to easily. Which made her very interesting.

Alana smiled softly as she looked down at the brown fur on top of her bears head. "I'm Aly." She replied gently still. Could this male be trusted. Yes, her guardian and sire taught her not to hate or fear other races, but what about her own? Alana shuddered as she replayed his question in her mind.
"I'm going home." Alana replied, looking up again. She had just come back from Central Park where her parents were killed and she had been turned. Yes, not the thing for a mere child to do on her own but she didn't want Abigail knowing that she had gone there. It wasn't fair to make her suffer too.
"What's one of us doing stealing?" Alana smiled as she turned her face to his hands but her eyes stuck on his face.
Those lavender eyes of hers saw everything and she remembered everything too. That was what made her such a good little girl and lycan.

Home, what a wonderful concept. Colin had been bereft of such a thing for so long he almost asked her what home was. Nodding as she said this he thought back, remembering faintly a field of corn and wheat, replaced by a cage, cold, dark… pain, always pain. He pulled himself from that very quickly. The help for that came from her question. A good one. She was a smart cookie, and very observant. To his knowledge, no one else on the subway had caught on.
“Very good. You’re eyes are rather keen. Some of us aren’t as fortunate when it comes to money as most. When one is tired of eating rats, a good hot meal in some café now and again makes taking from others just a little more appealing.” He let it sit at that. There were worse things he could do. He could eat the people instead of take from them. In the long run, he hoped that they would thank him, inadvertently, for stealing their money instead of their lives.
“You’re very lucky, going home.”

Alana scrunched up her face as she thought of his answer, allowing her bear to slip through her fingers and fall to her lap. She didn't know that everyone didn't have a home or a bed or food. It made her feel bad and she looked up with sparkling crystal tears in her lavender eyes.
"You can come to my home! Mommy Abigail won't mind!" She suggested brightly.
Alana knew that Abigail wouldn't mind. Her guardian was so nice and gentle that is was almost hard to believe that she was a lycan! Alana giggled at the thought and clutched her bear in her arms once more. There was nothing more than that. Colin would have to get a good meal and nights rest!
"Please?" Alana decided to question than demand as her previous comments probably sounded. It was rude, Alana could almost hear her guardians' calm voice state in her head.

Colin’s heart broke to hear her tone. She wanted to help him, that was very sweet of her. But he couldn’t do that. He loved being a pet, that’s what he knew, what he was used to. But she was young, she shouldn’t just invite people that she didn’t know to her home. And she was just now going home, she should enjoy it without playing hostess. Not that he would want them to play such, he didn’t deserve something so nice.
“Thank you Aly, that’s very kind of you. But I have to refuse. You shouldn’t invite random people to your home, werewolf or not. Thank you so much though.” Softly, he touched her head and smiled. “You’re very kind Aly, always keep that.”

Alana was about to respond to his refusal before the subway train lurched to a hault in front of a new station. She yawned again. Would she even be able to make it back home before she fell to sleep? Alana stood from her seat, well actually she slid off it, and grabbed her small bag. "But you can't sleep anywhere! Please, Colin?" Alana begged now.
It was her personality to be kind and generous, something Abigail never would squash from her. Her lavender eyes were wide and carefree, gentle and child-like. She looked like a small puppy begging for a scrap off their humans' plate. It would have been commical really if it wasn't for the fact Alana didn't know she wore this look.
She knew that it was dangerous to invite 'strangers' to her home, but no one would be foolish enough to harm anyone at the Clearwater house. Lycans swarmed every inch of the estate and watched closely after Alana and Abigail. They would allow nothing to happen to their leader or the leaders' seemingly child.

(Coin, not Colin. He introduced himself as Coin.)
She was standing as the train moved, people coming on and off. He was begging him now, or, almost. He could feel the big eyes watching him, asking him to give in and come with her. He thought about what it could be like, around other wolves, not having to steal and live off rats, being around some kind of family again. That would be nice, he wasn’t going to deny that. A night out of the weather, people to help, to take care of him, to be with… it sounded lovely.
But it was rude of him. He was a street mutt, one that had lived alone for almost a hundred years. He can’t just invite himself in like that. Sighing, he knew he couldn’t tell her no, but couldn’t just act like he was okay with it.
“We’ll see. Right now I’m thinking I should at least make sure you get home safely. How’s that? I’ll make sure you get home, then we can find out from… ‘Mommy Abigail’ you said?”

(Sorry. I took 'Coin' as just a misspelling. lol Sorry!)
Alana jumped up and down as she clapped her hand, the bear falling to the ground as people started to get off the train. "Mother Abigail will say yes! I just know she will!" Alana squealed with delight as she stooped to pick up the bear and then held out her free hand for Coins'. She knew that Abigail wouldn't mind. She was always helping other lycans.
"Come on! We have to hurry or we won't get off!" Alana stated, not calmly but in such an excited voice that the humans around her looked on curiously
Alana could care less what they thought. Humans had a short temper, that she knew personally. At the thought Alana had to cover a shiver that went down her spine. She could just hear her real mothers' screams for her to run. That night would never leave her, the night she was changed and saved from certain death.

(I thought as much. No worries, I do it all the time.)
Confused at the suddenness of the change, he couldn’t help but laugh as she jumped around in front of him. One could forget easily that she was a child with her mature act before. Glad that he could make the child happy he stood, holding out his hand for her to grab.
“Are you sure this is your stop? And if so, you’ll have to help me through the crowd.”
(Oh my gosh. That was horrid. Sorry…)
