Scarlet sat in the shop, bathed in warm lights as chopsticks steadily shoved in noodles at her will. Her long hair was pulled up high and out of the way so that the ends wouldnt dip into the beef flavored broth. The food in the bowl was disappearing quickly, but her stomach still craved more. Training herself every day caused her to be extremely hungry. Even now it was raining outside, something that came to her easily now. Scarlet sat back in her seat and bleched louder than most men would, the eyes that looked her way caused her face to flush a red color. "Excuse me." Her musical voice chimed, and the asian boys behind the counter shuddered. She had just a seductive voice when happy.
Her long pale hand raised and she asked for yet another bowl of ramen. This was Scarlets third bowl or so, she was just so hungry. When that bowl was finnished, Scarlet paid and scampered out into the rain, dacing with graceful moves. She didnt move far from the shop, for she was still hungry, and would want more later. "If only this didnt make me so hungry..." She breathed and smiled, looking up to the sky with her eyes closed. How Scarlet adored the feeling of the rain on her skin.

Dark strolled down the street, brushing past the occasional pedestrian. His clothes were soaked, but he didn't care. To him, this weather was nothing on the Polish storms he had to survive as a youth. He took a cigar from his pocket, and shielding it from the rain, lit it and took a deep breath. Satisfaction reeked from him as he exhaled. Picking up the pace, he made his way through the small streets, glaring at anyone who eyeballed him. He hadn't been to Asia much during his life, but he always admired their honour and loyalty. But that wasn't his style. Too many people die for honour and loyalty. Who paid best survived in his books.
As he made his way, his eyes began to wonder. There was a young woman, face up into the sky ahead of him. He paused for a moment, taking a slow puff of the cigar. Watching her, he moved closer to her, taking careful steps. Slowing to a halt, he blew a breath of smoke in her direction. "Nice night is it not?" He was in a playful mood, as he'd had his fill for the night. His wounds stil hurt, but he concealed them underneath the jacket.

Scarlet jumped, her eyes wide and blinking at the men who spoke. The rain stopped for those two seconds, then began again. He'd distracted her. "Yes, yes it is. The rain always makes me happy." Scarlet twirled, her long water heavy hair sending droplets flying in random directions. She giggled, her voice and every noise she made nearly heavenly. The black shirt she wore stuck to her body, her pants clinging in all the right places. Even her socks seemed to be wet because she was wearing converse. Her emerald eye sparkled as she examined him. "Do you like the rain as well?" She wondered noticing at how wet he was.
Scarlet was ready for any sort of attack. The man smelled like... wet dog. Most likely a lycan, but recently she had come to know that there were other were-creatures a foot. None of those things she had skill fighting against. Scarlet hoped like hell he wouldnt attack and that she wouldnt have to find out what he really was.

She looked good, especially in the rain. There was something about her. And for once, it wasn't to do with killing. "Yes, I like rain, it reminds me of my old country. But I must admit, it does rain alot more here" he said in a light tone. Taking a cigar from the pack, he held it out to offer "Do you smoke?" Taking a puff from his cigar, he examined her. She was almost as wet as he was, yet she did not care. Like or dislike, it was unusual behaviour.
He was slightly cautious of her, as he'd come across so many sub-species since arriving in this wretched country. But there was a friendly nature about her. If she was some kind of vampire, werewolf or whatever else lurks about, surely she would not expose herself so clearly. Even a human with knowledge of them would avoid standing in the rain. His normal paranoia lingered, but his mind hid it. He wanted something other than death tonight. A break perhaps.

"Smoke? Gosh no. Thank you for the offer none the less." She smiled pleasently. Scarlet was always friendly toward people until they were unfriendly toward her. She had a kind heart, all the troubles in her life lead her to realize that life was too short to be mean. It was best to have a whole lot of friends rather than a whole lot of enemies. All it did was get you killed. Scarlet eventually let her hands turn palm up, the rain coming down in thicker, heavier drops. The two were soaked, and she wondered why he didnt want to go inside. Sure, it reminded him of home, that she understood. But why would you stay out in the rain for so long? Scarlet supposed it didnt matter.
Scarlet then smiled once more, a quite dazzling smile at that as she held out a small, fragile pale hand with long fingers. "My name is Scarlet. Its quite nice to meet you.... Whats your name?" Her eyes were bright and vibrant. Scarlet hoped that he wouldnt be frightened by her ice cold skin, let alone the white marble color of it.

Finishing his cigar, he flicked it onto the ground besides. He stood firm and looking into her eyes replied "My name is Urjasz Volkova, but they call my Dark Lycan here." Pausing for a second, he added "It's a nickname my old friends had for me". As much as he longed to tell her what he was, he knew she'd never understand. They never do. True he would always start the fight, but he believed the best defence is a good offensive. But this was merely a child in his eyes, she looked no older than 17, 18 pushing it.
Chuckling, he looked around. It had only just struck his mind that he looked about 40 odd, and he was chatting to a teen. Answering before she could ask, he stated "I bet they find it weird how someone like me is talking to someone like you. I mean, of you're age." Giving his jacket a quick shake, he wiped the rain off, flicking it onto the floor. As his eyes passes her gaze, he could not resist a moments slip, his eyes changing colour briefly. Adverting her eyes, he asked "So what brings you to this neighbourhood?"

"Nice to meet you Urjasz." Scarlet curtsied a little with an amused smile. He seemed to be appraising her, like maybe he was at disbelief of her beauty. Scarlet couldnt understand what it was about her that man liked so much, she thought she was just another girl. She wanted to skim his mind, just to see what he thought of her, but she supposed that would be rude. Maybe she didnt even want to know.
Her wondering thoughts stopped when he asked her another question. "The food!" Scarlet replied cheerfully and took in a deep breath, smelling the exotic foods. Her stomach growled at it. "Grr.." She mumbled to herself and blushed a little. Scarlet enjoyed the food here too much for her own good. Even having eaten so much she still wanted more.
Scarlet then looked at the man thoughtfully. Might as well tell him, hm?"Well, Dark, Before i further my company with you I am not what you think i am." She smiled faintly, her eyes turning black. "I am not 17. I am about... well 56 i think.... I'm immortal... a vampire." Scarlet peeled her lip back revealing the long fangs, and she took stance and snarled deeply. She then regained her composure, giggling. She would see how he enjoyed that. "I'm sorry if i scared you." Scarlet laughed alittle more, her eyes lighting up, back to green and her voice like bells. "And you..." she sniffed a little, "Are a Lycan? or does my nose betray me?"

Watching, he stood firm as she did her display. His heart was full of different emotions, some of acceptance, others of anger. The secret didn't come as a surprise to him, as he was yet to meet anyone normal. Observing, he took note of how she was different to others he's met before. All those he had met before became very defensive, whereas she played with her change. To him, she was still young. Recalling being called a youngling himself, he realised just how young she was in terms of immortality. Showing no emotion, he replied "Is there anyone on this wretched continent that isn't immortal? And no, you do not scare me."
Her next question caught him off guard. Raising his head slightly and looking away, he bit his lip, glancing back at her. She was a child in his eyes. She was still learning. He knew what he kind was like. He knew what he was like. Moving closer to her, he whispered into her ear "Firstly, never admit what you are to strangers. There are people and creatures out there that would kill you for what you are. Myself included. However, you are a child to me. There is no glory, no honour in killing you. And yes, I am a Lycan. But do not base your views on my kind on this meeting. If you had posed any threat you would not still be standing."
Giving her a moment to think, he stepped back. His eyes changed to a dark purple, this time looking directly into hers. Changing back, he gave her a smile. "Now, did I scare you?"

Her body grew ridgid, the emerald draining from her eyes as he leaned close. She could deflect an attack if he tried. She didnt think he would, but it was better safe then sorry. His words made Scarlet roll her eyes. "Oh come now. Just because im a girl doesnt mean i've not killed a few in my days. I can fight and defend myself. Im acutally a pretty good fighter for my age, yet im not satisfied. I've got a lot of strange powers up my sleeve." Scarlet smiled a bit. "And why?? I dont care what people think i am. I just figured that i might as well tell you, get it over with and see of you run or fight." Scarlet shrugged a little. "More or less i'd rather not get too attached and have to let go, you know?" She questioned softly.
Scarlet watched his eyes turn to a deep purple and marveled at the color. It was beautiful, making her smile. "Scare me? Darling it will take A LOT more than THAT to scare me." She laughed, her eyes and whole body radiating how playful and carefree she was tonight. "But really, regaurdless of who you are, what you are.... if you treat me kindly, you're more likely to get it back and have a friend then me to be a total... well i beleive you know the word.... for no reason."

Listening to her talk, he began to pace slightly, left to right, right to left. Smiling, he observed her behaviour and studied her words. She had the right attitude, that no one could debate. It amused him how she could talk so seriously yet behaviour so carelessly. So free. Perhaps living the eternal life the way they should. Gloriously. He replied sharply, pointing at her once or twice. "I did not ask if you can kill or had you. And I do not aim to scare. If I aimed to do that, I would not be standing infront of you, I would not of got your attention."
He turned away for a moment, deciding on what to do. He never took friendship, for it only led to death. But he had come here for a new start, perhaps she could be the first change. Looking around, his mind raced for answers. Turning back, he put out his hand and softly said "Then friends we shall be." His mind screamed at him, telling him it was a moment of weakness. But he didn't care anymore. Over a hundred years of fighting wars. Wars that weren't his. If he was to fight, it would be for his own benefit now. And if he was to die because of her, so be it.

Scarlet watched him pace back and forth, the motions seemed to bother her. He couldnt possibly be nervous, it was obvious that he was older and could probably beat her in a fight, so why was he pacing so? "Bah, will you knock that off? Its making me sick." Scarlet added a friendly smile, and her tone was clearly joking. He then went on to critisize her words, making her sigh. "Ahhh... sheesh Dark you're just like Blaise! Correcting my every word. Let things slide, relax, and live this immortal life you own." she shook her head and rubbed her chest. There was an odd ache there where her dragon tattoo was, she wondered why. Maybe Shadows needed her? Was she having some sort of blood withdraw? Who knew, she would deal with it later.
Scarlet was in a good mood, thus the reason why she was careless. Had Dark really wanted to kill her he probably would have suceeded. She wasnt on gaurd at all. Finally he turned to her and thrust out a large hand, her eyes blinked and looked at it curiously. It was huge, and she slowly looked down at her own. It was times like these that she realized how fragile she was for a supposed indestructable immortal. Her hand grasped his firmly though, even though her hand was swallowed up by his. "Friends." She ginned, the sight practically breath taking.

His hand engulfed hers, and it really put it in prospective how different they were. Passing people would slow down as they past, wondering what was happening. And frankly so did Dark, for this was new to him. The rain around them almost slowed to halt, as the moment froze breifly. This was his first friend in this miserable place. But this wasn't the concern in his mind. His concern was: What now? What do you do after making a friend? Before, friends never last long. Millions of questions filled his mind, ranging from everyday questions to why he hasn't killed her. The bloodlust in his veins screamed for flesh. But he did not care what it thought. He was in control, he always had been.
The rain continued to pour around them, and they finished the handshake. He knew what he said next mattered, but it felt so trivial to him. "So, what do you do with your time? Being immortal and all?" He despised being a novice in something, or at least having to update his knowledge. Being good at something made him feel at ease, but nerves would take hold if he did not know something. Even the animal inside him could not take away the human essence of survival. The only friends he'd ever known were dead by now. One of whom had fallen at his hand. Her face was the only one that haunted him in his sleep. Perhaps he saw some of her in this little vampire. Perhaps.

Scarlet smiled at her new found friend. "I suppose you would like it to stop raining now?" The drops slowed down at a steady pace until it stopped all together and the clouds went away, revealing the moon and stars. "Rain or not, it is beautiful tonight." she turned her gaze upward, Scarlets long neck craning as her head tilted back. The shimmering silver stars turned to Linx's beautiful orbs in her mind. How she missed him.... But she was to stay away, and she would if it ment his safety.
She then looked back down at Dark, her eyes curious. "A silly... stupid question.... i just want to see if you happen to feel my longing." Scarlet took a soft breath to prepare herself for such a personal question. "Have you ever had someone that you have loved more than anything in your life be taken away or you are forced to stay away from them....?" Scarlet wondered out of sheer curiosity. Maybe he could understand her pain of losing Blaise, and having to keep away from the love of her life Linx. Absently, her thumb twitched, playing with the diamond ring on her left hand. When would she be wed? It felt like he proposed so long ago........
"You dont have to answer. Im sorry for asking." Her eyes looked off, the pain and longing clear in her deep green eyes. Thankfully his other question distracted her. "What do i do...? I play guitar... I sing... i draw... i fight unfortunately." She looked back to him gently. "And when i can i love to hang out with friends or Linx." Scarlet nodded. "Basically i do whatever i want when the moment strikes me."

He took a long breath, and had to look away from her for a moment. Turning back, he softly said "I did love someone once. Still. But it was a long time ago, and I have to move on. If I punish myself, I may as well lay my life down as punishment to myself. Her name was Kaja. She lived over 100 years ago, yet I can still see her face in my mind as if I'd seen her moments ago. But she also haunts my dreams and more specifically, my nightmares. I've never actually spoken to anyone about this before, I don't tend know people for too long."
His heart was throbbing, for the memory he was to share killed him inside every night. "Me and Kaja grew up together, along with three other friends. When I grew older I became fond of her, but never acted on it. My father was murdered by my mother and her by me. I had to flee to a cabin we owned and I lived there for several years. Whilst I was there, I was bitten by a Lycan I had been hunting. After killing too many people in a local village, I began to move around alot. One day I passed through my hometown of Gorzów Wielkopolski and bumped into Kaja. She invited me into her home, and as I entered, my lust for her overwhelmed me and the beast inside emerged." He had to stop talking for a moment, his throat choking on the words, holding back the tears. "I had always loved her. But it was by my hand she died. For no reason other than I wanted her. I wanted to have all of her, inside and out. It is because of that death I have three bullet holes in me, and which I do not heal. They are a reminder to myself of what I have done and I will never forgive myself for what happened to her."
Emotions mixed, he swallowed his pain and regaining composure, he firmly looked into her eyes and asked "So what about you? As you clearly have something on your mind. And might I Inquire who Linx is, as you mentioned him with your friends." Spotting the ring on her hand, he calmly added "Or is he the husband?"

Scarlet suddenly felt a sharp ping of pain course through her little black heart. Maybe she shouldnt have asked about this. It seemed to really bother Dark to think about it. His story touched her heart, making her own eyes water slightly. So he knew that pain of losing the one person that cared for you, or you cared for. Scarlet could relate more than he knew. Slowly, gently, her slender body stepped toward him and her long arms slipped around his neck in a kind hug. Her sweet candy and flower-like scent enveloped him now, hopefully calming his nerves. Scarlet hoped he wouldnt mind too much, she just felt the urge to hug him. "I Understand Dark... its hard... its really hard to live with that sort of pain." She loosened her arms and stepped back a half step. Scarlet patted his shoulder and braced herself for her story."Amazingly, to this day i am still alive...." she sighed. "Its only because i was so connected with that person, that if i call him he comes to me, hes more than happy to. Not to mention i know a little black magic that...." Her eyes studied him. "Thats for later. nevermind that."
She looked up into the stars thinking of Blaises snowy white hair and pericing blue eyes. "When i was changed, i was left alone. Blaise, the man who found me, took care of me and trained me. He taught me how to deal with this life i was cursed with. I concidered him my brother since the real family i had never really was much of one...." Her throat was tightening around her words as she knew the parts that were coming up. "One night, after we went out to feed on some animals after training... we were coming back... taking a short cut through an alley... when.... when a Lycan attacked me. Well, it tried to. Blaise got in the way." Tears were already starting to pour down her cheeks, but her voice was steady and she didnt even seem to notice them. "He told me to run... to get out of sight at least....and I ran like a chicken. I was right around the corner as i heard the growls, the slicing flesh, snapping jaws and a final scream... then silence." Scarlet was suddenly aware of the tears and wiped them away quickly. She took a long pause to collect herself. "I ran around the corner... and the one person i cared for more than anything in the world was laying there, practically inside out, his skin was so torn. What little of his clothes that were left held him together.............." There was another pause. "I picked him up and ran home. I used everything he taught me to try to save him... but... but...." The hysteria in her voice was obvious as it was getting squeaky. Scarlets little frame was shaking. "...I failed." Her eyes were wide, her mind reeling through the vivd memories. These were forever burned into her mind, never fading. She could smell the blood, hear the screams and rips, she could almost feel the weight of Blaise in her body.
Scarlet gasped, she had been holding her breath. She panted trying to make up for the lack of oxygen in her system. Her eyes were wide and frightened as she looked at Dark, then in a blink they were warm once more. The episode was over. "I'm sorry...." she said softly and then thought about his next question. It was hard to do when she was thinking about how Dark was thinking about her. Maybe he thought her crazy, which was true in a sense. "Linx...?" she asked softly. "Oh... Well, Linx is my fiancee.... we were engaged to be wed almost a year ago i think i was... But my master came back. Apparently he wasnt very happy that i changed Linx and was out to kill him. In order to keep my love safe we struck a deal. If i stay away from him, and he stays away from my master, he will live." She looked at the ring, sighing. "I love him so much.... but... i cant see him." Scarlets whole demenor seemed to darken, a cloud of depression covering the sky, quite literally. She looked up, "Dammit." She said softly and glared at it as i moved on.
