The Joker ORIGINALLY was just a crazy murderous bastard. The censorship board made them change him to be the 'joking prankster' that you think he should be. Zing! Although I would have enjoyed a little prankishness from the Joker due to my exposure to the Batman cartoons as a child.

I really couldn't say if that's what he was going for or if he played it to the original character because I have no idea what he was thinking lol, but it seems to me that he was playing more towards the original Joker style. From the EARLY EARLY comics.

((This is Aiden on Shadows' account. I forgot to log on mine lol))
Well the original Joker only lasted for about 5 appearances, then the board made them change him so he became something more lighthearted. The writer had to alter his character because they knew kids read the comics and such. I think That's stupid, but whatever. So yeah since then he hasn't eer been what the Joker was truly meant to be. Heath's version is the closest thing to the original Joker, since the original Joker himself.

Wow okay see I never knew he was like that before they had him be changed so the kids would read the comics. I think what they should have done was do two versions of the comics-one for the kids, one for the adults. The kids' version would have the joker as well the changed joker, and the adult's would be the original Joker. I agree, Heath's was way different from Jack and that also gives him the opportunity to play along with that. I mean he even said himself he didn't want to try to be like Jack or to copy him. However, I never knew the way the real Joker was supposed to be so to me Heath's the closest I could get.
