I just got spyware on my computer. "xP Antispyware 2009". The damnedest thing is, get this, I haven't downloaded anything!!!!
Boss is flipping because this is my work laptop. I'm so a dead woman if information is stolen. But I think nothing is gone.
This is a pain in the rear to get rid of too. It'll involve going in the registry and that's f****** annoying.
We're trying to figure out how the program got on the notebook because I swear I haven't downloaded anything. It's like ... virgin spyware?
How the cahoots can a person get a nasty thing when they haven't downloaded anything? Pfft!

That IS weird! That happened to me once where the darn thing kept on popping up and scanning when really I didn't have any viruses or nothing. And the stupid thing did not stop too.

Spyware does not need to downloaded, by surfing unsafe sites *Cough* Porn sites *cough* you get all nasty kinds of things. Spyware can not steal information in the slightest, all it does is allow them to track what websites you have in your cookies, though there are some severe ones like trojan horses that are both spyware and viruses that are the problems, those again don't have to be downloaded.

Tracking my cookies on my work compute is a bad thing but I dealt with the problem accordingly.
