I thought it would be interesting to have a debate about this. But let's pretend were-animals existed for this fun debate. What if this person had their original human DNA stored somewhere in a vial of blood (not sure if DNA has anything to do with gene therapy *haahaa*)? Perhaps Gene therapy can reverse the affects and make them human again? Gene therapy has been known to do the following:
* A normal gene may be inserted into a nonspecific location within the genome to replace a nonfunctional gene. This approach is most common.
* An abnormal gene could be swapped for a normal gene through homologous recombination.
* The abnormal gene could be repaired through selective reverse mutation, which returns the gene to its normal function.
* The regulation (the degree to which a gene is turned on or off) of a particular gene could be altered.
I thought this would be interesting to debate about. So what do you guys think? If there were places that stored your DNA (that is, if gene therapy relates to this at all) and you got turned into a were-animal, can you be cured?

Uhhh....who cares? I wouldn't want to be cured! Super-human strength, speed, mind...where's the bad side!

It's an interesting topic to debate about and I'm certain some would want to be human again *shrugs* but eh. Think of this as something for fun...? >>;

What about a full blood transfusion as a cure? Siphon out the were-blood while constantly infusing regular human blood? As for me, I might want to be cured, depends on if I could control the ability to turn, lol.

Becoming a were animal means your genetics are changed and everything, hence why I mentioned the gene therapy. XD

I have warned you all before, and shall do so one last time before there be punishings:
THREE SENTENCES MINIMUM
Thank you.
Also, gene-therapy is in its infancy at the moment. There does not exist for most cases, even those where the target area is specific, a vector which is both safe and will deliver the new/normal genes in sufficient quantity.
No! nonspecific location is BAD! Gene loci are important! You can't just shove a gene in any old place, as it would completely wreck the entirety of the rest of the chromosome, resulting in death, most likely.
The other points raised are considered possible but still not by any means current practice... simply theory.
But leaving the science aside, I can see why people would want to be cured. I should imagine that the curse of being a were might well outweigh the benefits. Vampire, though... well, who'd want to cure that?
