IN MEMORY OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001...They will always be remembered...
Thank you so much to the heroes, the search dogs, and every American that helped... Can you believe it's been 7 years? Where were you on 9-11? Do we need to remember anyone? Just place whatever thoughts here of 9-11, but don't turn this in a debate, please. I was in school, 10th grade. Creepy thoughts. I remember walking in the classroom after the bell rung and the teacher had the radio on. Her words, "The Trade Center was hit by a plane." Now, at the time I had no clue what a Trade Center was and the thought was driving me crazy till we all went upstairs to another room and watched the news...I think the color left my face and goosebumps went up my spine. I remember wanting to curl in someone's lap and wish that it was all a dream. If I could just wake up, we'd be back in class learning about something English. I watched on TV as the second plane hit and I wanted to scream...I will never forget that day. Hell, I won't forget that month. It took weeks to clean up and every day I wanted to know how many people had been found, were they okay? Who was...lost... I have the first page newspaper that day and my family has a Christmas ornament. I knew one friend who wasn't from the U.S say once, "Why do you guys have to make it so dramatic and call it 9-11?" It was a blue sky over the U.S on 9-11 and the planes were grounded. I never knew how quiet the sky can be until there's NO planes, though we did saw a huge cargo plane...That was cool...

Didn't know about it until after lunch (1:00PM or sometime after). Just like a majority of other people (self-centered with the attention span of a flea) at the time simply said "That sucks." and went back to life as if nothing happened.
Of course a certain teacher decided to have a little debate as to how we [The US] should respond. Majority of the class was in favor of nuking the middle east back to the stone age. Due to a few of the loudest idiots in the class (and I do mean idiots). Was like that for a while until said teacher told the idiots to shut up so the class could hear what the only two opposed had to say.
I do have sort of the same attitude today. Particularly since I don't like to dwell on negative things (unless I'm in one of my weird little funks). We as a nation survived it. Life goes on. Still think about it though. Not really what happened, but what are/were we supposed to do. Right now I think about what it meant.

I can't believe it's been seven long years. On 9-11 I was in history class when it happened, we weren't informed and continued on with school. I only found out about it when I came home and turned on the TV, then a second later my mom called to say she'd have to stay late at the hospital. They were flying injured people from NY to her hospital.

Didn't tell you? Yeesh. My school was hoping they'd let us go home early. But nooooo, they forced us to go on as if it was any other day. It was hard since we knew on the other side of this rock we were getting attacked by who knows what and I wanted my Mom! xD

I was living on the west coast with my mom still because I was only in 7th grade. It happened before I went to school, and I knew about it but really didn't 'get it'. A couple of my friends and I knew it was bad, but we didn't get the entire situation. So we, being stupid kids, went around the halls in school before class started screaming 'We're all gonna die!' and stuff like that. Well one of the teachers told us to stop so we did and we didn't think it was a big deal. But then I remember in my math class, I think it was about half way through the school day, the second one hit, and the entire school had a moment of silence. I think that's when it hit me what was really happening. I don't think I was sad, I was just really uncomfortable. Like when there's an akward silence on a bad date or something. I just didn't know how to react.
Now I'm planning on spending the rest of my life with someone who's in the Army and I realize that what happened so long ago is one of the reasons that he could be deployed and even killed if he's in a combat zone. It scares the hell out of me but I support him because I think it's right that we took action. He has always wanted to be in the military and I'm proud of him for doing what he always wanted and I think he's brave. (Not intending to open up anything for debate here, this is just my personal feelings.)

It's good to support. My best friend's husband is in Iraq right now. She's doing good, talking to him at least every day. She says she has to be strong for him. Before he left, their kids (twin girls) were born 3 months early and he at least got to be there for her before he left in August. He'll be back next year in March. I try to be there for her. ^^ The girls are so cute.

I as in the fourth grade at the time, I feel like a kid compared to you all!, and our TV in the class room just popped on. I remember that because I was wanting my long division worksheet to just burst into flames at the time and was really happy when the TV turned on. The entire class was silent, the first time in forever let me tell you, and we watched as the second plane hit. Our teacher, when she saw it, explained everything to us like we were in first grade. I was the one to remind her how old we were and that she didn't need to talk to slowly. Well, when the TV turned off and the principal told all the students to go to the gym for a long assembly about everything, we found out how many of the school population actually had family members over there.
Countless of the students were out the whole month because of their relatives being in the Trade Center when the planes crashed. I was one of the few lucky ones in my class who had never actually had a relative go there at all. The entire school was sheeted in red, white, and blue for months afterwards. We set off balloons and made the US flag from cups in the fence. Not to mention we even made the flag from our bodies, each wearing red, white, or blue and standing in assigned spots.
Those months are times that I won't forget. In all honesty I was slightly pleased I didn't have to do any work because we were too busy making things for support groups and the injured people. I even made a little paper doll for a man who was injured in the attack. He'd sent me a letter back as a thank you and a picture of his little girl who really loved the doll. I was happy, as any little kid would be that someone liked their gift, but I was also happy because I had helped.
Anyway, I'll always remember 9-11...always.
(wow, last line was really melodramatic! lol)

I actually woke up to the sound of a TV and my mom said that we were under attack. I panicked but she said it was in New York. I'll have you know I was SHOCKED beyond belief!

I was at the Hospital with my Grandma who just got the fluid drained from her lungs cause she had lung cancer, she died in May, any ways. I watched it the whole time. believe it or not I understood the whole thing, I watched it the entire time it happened. Just staring at the TV and all the people screaming, I don't think it was very controversy in the hospital but still I remember it just like it was yesterday.

I was in first grade. I had no clue what it was about besides a plane crashing into a building or something. That's about it.
Anyways, today, it was my friend's birthday, so it was a bit awkward for her...
