The look in the vampire's eyes had been of pure lust when he continued to drink from Era's neck. She had spoken briefly, said something to him, but the words never quite reached his ears. As the girl passed out, Hiro kept feeding from her. He couldn't stop anymore. The sharp fangs remained in her precious neck for quite a while, draining her body of so much blood it wasn't healthy at all for her. Finally, he came to and took his hands off her, leaning up he looked down to see his lover laying very very still on the bed, her lips pale.
Hiro held era's limp body in his arms and couldn't even hope to cry anymore. Looking down at her pale, cold body and the blood trickling off her ravaged neck, it absolutely killed him inside. He felt as though his heart had stopped and it was probably close to it, he could barely even breath. There were so many thoughts running through his mind just then. Surely Era would forgive him and tell him they were even now, but there was no way Hiro could accept that. Not like this. Even though Era was just sleeping, her breathing was shallow and her body was cold. He had gone too far this time! Hiro knew he had taken too much blood from her. On his way out to door, the boy picked up a knife from a nearby nightstand. The silver blade burned to hold onto but he didn't care. Without a second thought, Hiro stabbed it straight into his neck as hard as he could. The vampire wasn't nearly ready for the amount of pain it brought but one more look at Era made him feel so much better about it. The silver burned him thoroughly but he didn't even care. Maybe now they could be closer to being even. After pulling the knife out his wound stopped bleeding faster than usual but it still hurt and made it even harder for him to breath.
Hiro carried his love despite how weak he was feeling, and left the hotel promptly, heading downtown to the best hospital he knew of. Fearing for her life, Hiro began to run. He ran as fast as his legs would carry him, far faster than any human could ever go. The girl needed a blood transfusion since he had stolen so much blood out of her and Hiro knew if she didn't get it fast, her body and brain wouldn't get enough oxygen from it and would most likely die. The thought ruined him.
After sending a txt message to his friend, an employee at the Lenox Hill Hospital, Hiro walked in through the entrance to the emergency wing and was desperate. Almost immediately, his friend Aiden along with an assistant met them. Without a moments too soon, Hiro collapsed after handing Era over to the doctors. But she was in good hands.
After what felt like an eternity, Hiro opened his eyes to a room that was blanketed in darkness. He could feel the cold floor beneath his bare feet and the cold touch of shackles and the jingle of chains around his wrists. Thankfully, because his legs felt so weak he needed something to keep him standing. A few minutes later, there was a little buzz and an intercom switched on.
"You're awake now are you?" Aiden's voice sounded into the room above Hiro, immediately, the vampire knew what was going on and where he was. He smiled.
"Th-Thank.... you...."
"You needn't worry, Sir. The girl you brought in had a successful transfusion and is sleeping in a private room. She's safe and sound. She'll be as good as new."
Tears ran down Hiro's cheeks. He couldn't be more thankful for Era being alive and alright.
"Now are you sure you want to go through this? You're still awfully weak. We don't even know how well it has been working."
"I... I haven't done this... for 2 days..... and look what I've done to her...." Hiro was barely able to speak. He felt so tired and in pain. "Please... Start the treatment!"
A blinding light surrounded Hiro in the dark room. And then the pain. As the artificial UV rays bombarded his vampiric body, it burning him all over and left him in utter agony. The pain was the most excruciating he had ever experienced yet. Having fed off Era so much, it made things worse than ever. No matter how much he wriggled in pain, the chains kept him standing and the man behind the glass watched without stopping. Of course it hurt his friend to see Hiro going through so much torture, but it was voluntary. What kind of vampire would do this to himself? One that was hopelessly in love with Era.
By repeated, prolonged exposure to UV rays worse than being out in the sun itself, Hiro's body had been getting used to the pain. After each session, when his skin had healed considerably and he left the hospital, Hiro found he could walk without protection in brought daylight with minimal discomfort, at least for a while. He had been getting these treatments done on an almost daily basis but had recently been slacking off on his schedule after he met Era. But not without taking a tole on his body. Hiro was well aware that this was never going to be a permanent solution to his vampirism, but it helped him conquer it for the time being. Without fangs also, it made him feel entirely human. It was brilliant! Even though it was hurting his body on the inside considerably. Being in a hospital, his health was closely monitored, but this was an experimental solution Hiro had insisted upon himself. It wasn't without its risks. All his internal organs were suffering from extreme damage and fatigue, especially his heart. No matter what, they healed just enough to keep him alive and Hiro was happy with that. This let him be human. It let him not be a monster, not be dangerous.
Hiro screamed in absolute agony. It was a loud, depressing, horrible scream to hear. But soon after, he lost everything. The vampire couldn't breath no more, his eyesight was gone and the colour faded from his eyes. Every fiber of his being felt as though it were on fire and being stabbed by a thousand needles. There was a slight reddish haze surrounding his body. His blood was beginning to boil and evaporate! Finally, after nearly an hour of torture, Hiro lost consciousness and the treatment stopped.
The vampire was then brought to a bed in a safe room and a few hours later, Hiro woke up and called for a nurse to let him out of the restraints. With the doctors there with her, he was let out after they took the damp towels off his body and the oxygen mask. Hiro slowly made his way to Era's room where she must have still been sleeping. He went in and stood by her bed, running his hand through her soft hair. A few tears landed on her cheek. Before long, Hiro collapsed in the chair beside her bed and again passed out. The burns all over his entire body had healed quite a bit, along with the deep scar on the side of his neck from the knife, but Era was his lover. If anyone would notice them, it was her.

Era had been drifting in and out of sleep, but she hadn't stayed awake long enough to figure out where she was. It was confusing waking up to a random face and not knowing what they were saying if they were talking to her, at one point when she had woken up she had paniced because Hiro wasn't there but she hadn't care about anything else at the point only where Hiro as before she went back to sleep. Waking up once again Era felt confused as the smell of a Hospital reached her, her perfect hearing picked up the sounds of mumbeled talk and a machine going off somewhere. Ignoring the pain that was thudding through her body she pushed herself upright, she wanted out. She hated Hospitals, taking a deep breath Era's hair feel in her eyes blocking her vision and creating a curtian around her face.
Her body ached and screamed for her to lay back down but she was over it, ignoring what her body wanted she looked down at the IV needle in her arm without a second thought she pulled it out sending blood running down her arm and onto the bed. Era hadn't noticed Hiro in the chair because her mind was set on one thing getting out of the bed, reaching into the Hospital gown she pulled off the sticky pads on her chest making the machine in her room scream. Wincing she placed her hands over her ears and leaned forwards slightly, with the machine still going off she kept her hands over her ears in pain and she started crying. Era didn't care if nurses and doctors came running she was just going to tell them she felt fine which was a down right lie.

No matter how horribly tired and ill Hiro had been, as soon as he heard machines making more noise than they should his eyes darted open. They were still red as ever but nothing mattered to him. Nothing at all except that Era was awake, and he could hear her crying but that was the only thing audible to him. Hiro immediately forced his body to stand on his weak legs and put his arms around the girl. He burried her head in his chest and held her close to him, helping to keep her sensitive ears covered.
A few minutes of silence passed over the entire room. It was like nothing at all was happening and time had stopped. Until the nurses rushed into the room. They wanted to get Era and Hiro both back into beds and the machines hooked back up to her but Hiro beared his fangs. His gaze was deathly and it made the hospital staff back off as he took Era up in his arms and carried her out of the room. Everyone came to talk to them, to try and stop them, but Hiro showed them his eyes and teeth and they all knew he wasn't to be disturbed. It wouldn't matter soon enough, Hiro knew deep down that his friend whom worked at the hospital can attend to things, but right now all he could think of was to get his precious Era out of the hospital. She had already been filled back up with healthy blood and her body was able to get rest.
Hiro rushed out of the hospital and into the open daylight, wincing in pain. His vision still wasnt the best and the added sunlight didnt help things but the vampire could bear the pain some more. He didn't care. Era was his love and his utmost priority. Hiro ran as fast as his legs would carry him, limping almost the entire way until he stopped in the shade of a nearby park's trees. Anything to get out of the sunlight for just long enough to catch his breath and tend to his love.
"Shhh... Era... its alright. You're out of the hospital now. Its alright. I'm here..."
Hiro held her close to his battered body and did his best to comfort her. "I'm so sorry... I brought you there... I had no choice... I-I needed to get you a blood transfusion, Miss Era. Oh god I'm heaps sorry..."
When his voice broke off into such sadness and pain, Hiro bit his tongue and kept his arms wrapped tight around his lover. What else was he to do? His entire world and life felt like it was in this girl, the love of his life who now had every reason in the world to despise and not trust him. But most of all, to fear him. Hiro was so scared of her being afraid of him and anybody would have thought his heart would just stop and wither right there. It was pretty close to dying. His entire body was. The sunlight didn't let him heal as long as she should have, but without further care for his health Hiro began walking again, then a slow jog. He would get Era back to his suite and let her rest properly in the soft comfortable bed even if it was the last thing he did. Right then, he knew he should no longer be with her for fear of her safety. Maybe one day if he kept at his treatments to ruin his vampirism, he would consider himself safe enough to give himself another chance with her, but for now Hiro was very distraught and horribly saddened by what he had done to her again.

As soon as Hiro pulled her to his chest Era just held onto him as if she let him go he might vannish, as soon as the noise stopped Era looked at the nurses as they backed away frim Hiro. Sniffling slightly when he took her in his arms she hooked her arms around his neck carefully, hearing a lot of people talking Era couldn't really make out anything they were saying. She had a feeling that they might get in trouble for leaving the hospital without being discharged but Era couldn't really care, she was with Hiro and she felt safe again.
Feeling him stop Era took an arm from around his neck and wiped away her tears "Thats ok...." she mumbled softly as Hiro finnished talking, resting against him she let her eyes close as if she was tired. Era was beyound tired, as Hiro started off again she yawned softly to herself before drifting off into a light sleep. She knew she shouldn't have tried to leave the hospital but she hated that place it always made her feel sad and not to mention to smell made her feel sick.

As Era had woken up for a little bit and told him it was alright, her words almost made his heart skip a beat out of surprise and utter disbelief. He had nearly killed her; nearly drained her entire body of blood and all she could say was that it was okay? To Hiro, it was anything but okay, and it never would be. The love of his life was now in his arms, asleep and weak because he had let his vampirism get the better of him. It absolutely destroyed him inside and out. He couldn't even barely see or think straight the pain in his heart was so unbearable. Guilt was ruining him swiftly and surely.
Hiro held Era tighter to his chest, and as she fell back asleep in his arms he almost cried at the innocent sight of his lover. She looked peaceful, and no longer afraid. The girl made him a little bit happier, but even then he could no longer smile. There was only pain left inside him, except for the severe love for Era that would never fade. This last episode had convinced Hiro of many things, including him being a liar and not keeping his word to protect her always from himself even, but most of all the vampire realized he wasn't any good for Era at all. No matter how much they may disagree on the topic, one thing was for certain Hiro nearly killed Era and that was most horrible by any standard. From now on, he would either have to no longer be a vampire or leave Era, the former surprisingly being easier for him. It no longer made a difference how much pain he would have to endure if it meant not being a vampire for a short period of time, a short period of time he could spend every day and night with Era, keeping her safe and out of harms way.
Hiro kept jogging slowly down the street with Era in his arms lovingly. The sun felt excruciating across his skin, it burned everywhere so terribly, but the vampire didn't bother with it. From that moment on, he would no longer live as a vampire. He would go on walks with her and take her out places during the day under the hot sun. He would no longer bear his fangs and instead tear them out every time they would grow back in, ignoring the severe pain. But most of all, Hiro would never drink from Era again and would even get coloured contacts so she would never have to notice if his eyes had accidently turned blood red. Hiro just wanted to be able to stay with Era and not have her fear him. But he knew, that fear would have been rekindled and wouldn't die away easily at all. How could it? Inside, Hiro began to give up. If Era left him now, there was nothing he could do to make it feel as though it wasn't completely deserved. His entire world felt as though it was collapsing around him. Still, there was no emotion written on the boy's face. His expression was blank and dead. He forced everything, all the pain, to stay inside his heart as he just kept walking to his suite.

As she dozed in his arms Era muttered a few things in her sleep, none of what she said was understandable. Adjusting herself slightly in Hiro's arms she pressed more against him if that was ever possible, she didn't hate him from drinking from her. She hated the thought that Hiro would hurt himself so then he wouldn't hurt her, after a little bit of more sleep Era opened her eyes and frowned against the sun. Giving a small yawn she closed her eyes against the sun because it hurt from having her eyes closed and it was making her eyes water.
"Are you ok?" Era asked softly before opening her eyes and tipping her head up slightly to look at Hiro, in truth she was seeing white spots from the sun but she knew they would leave her vision sooner or later. Era had no idea if she had been out for ages but it felt like she had slept for a week but still needed more sleep, she hated the idea of just needing sleep. Maybe her body was getting back at her for pushing it all of the nights she would just go to work everynight and tire herself out and not get any sleep. Resting her head against Hiro's shoulder she watched him, she hadn't seen the scar on his neck or the condition he was in. She was still a little out of it.

Hiro smiled down at Era when she came to, but as the girl positioned herself closer to him, he felt increasingly nervous. It made him almost uncomfortable to be so close to her now, the only thoughts that went through his head were of how he didn't deserve to be. But still, when Era woke up he had immediately put on a smile and never mentioned a word of what had happened.
"I'm alright... Miss Era, I love you..."
As he said this, the vampire bit his lower lip and stopped talking. It only lasted a few seconds before he just went back to forcing a smile on his face. Feeling awkward, almost bad, for mentioning that he loved her, Hiro didn't say anything else and kept walking. Still, to anybody who didn't care to think otherwise, Hiro did look truly happy and nothing else. He was just that good at hiding how he really felt and pretending it didn't hurt to do so. It was for his Era. She had been through enough, he didn't need to bring up sour topics and make her feel worse about it. As long as he suffered, why make her feel upset too? He had already done enough to her.
"Its heaps bright out yet, Miss Era, you ought to keep your eyes closed for now." Hiro told her as he watched her squinting in discomfort from the sun's hot rays. Truthfully, if it hadn't been burning and drying his eyes out the vampire would have been squinting and feeling the same. But also, if she kept her eyes shut she wouldn't have to see him, see the monster and what had happened to his neck and skin. She wouldn't feel upset about it.

Smiling softly as Hiro spoke Era lowered her head slightly so she wasn't staring into the sun "I love you to Hiro" she said happily, as he told her she should keep her eyes closed she frowned slightly before making a nod of her head. She wasn't going to argue "Okay" she said softly as she closed her eyes, resting a hand against Hiro's chest she traced patterns on his chest with her fingers gently so gently she was barely touching his chest.
As Era stayed comfrotably in his arms with her eyes closed thoughts ran through her head about what might have happened after she had passed out, if she found out Hiro hurt himself for her sake she would need a good reason to clear her head. As they passed people Era's hearing picked up little bits of conversations around, breathing in she caught the smell of fresh coffee which made her stomach growled softly. She realised how hungry she felt but doubted she would be able to keep anything down if Era did eat something she would force herself to not bring it back up.

"Are you hungry, Miss Era? Perhaps you can try and keep something down. It may make you feel a bit better, if not less light headed at the very least."
The way he spoke to her was pleasant and caring, but yet heaps too polite. He hadn't called her love, bbydoll, or anything aside from Miss Era because it pained him to be any less proper with her. It felt as though they were back to square one and were just dating again, with Hiro nervous. But he did his best not to show how rude he felt otherwise and kept a beautiful smile on his face, even if he wasn't quite as pretty anymore. All over his skin was burnt, but it had been healing quite fast on account of how much blood he had taken in. If he hadn't, surely he would look burnt to a crisp by now. None of it mattered to him anymore though, especially not the pain. Ignoring it the best he could, it was almost like it wasn't even there. An annoyance people just simply deal with without a second thought.
When they passed a small cafe, the smell of fresh coffee had also caught Hiro's attention. It was heaps cold out but because of the sun burning him and his head and heart so full of pain, he hadn't notice. But surely something warm would help Era out a lot. He walked into the cafe, never letting Era out of his arms until she was comfortably seated on a couch in the rear of the shoppe. A few people that were in the store looked at them with strange looks because they were still in hospital outfits but nobody said a word when they saw Hiro and how he looked. Even the teller looked surprised and fearful when the vampire ordered a large latte, with plenty of cream and such. The average person may not have known vampires and inhuman creatures existed, but nonetheless Hiro was still a sight nobody would be fond of. It only made him feel more hated and self conscious when not with his Era, but again he bottled up all his feelings and smiled for her when he returned with her warm beverage.

As Hiro walked into the cafe she glanced at the people before he set her down on a couch and walked off, crossing her legs on the couch she made sure not to flash anyone while she was moving. She would be more then embrassed if she accidently exposed herself to anyone beside Hiro, looking away from the people staring at her Era looked out the window, she knew that her and Hiro must have been a sight to see. Bitting on the inside of her bottom lip she watched people pass by the cafe, placing her hands in her lap Era looked to see where Hiro was and saw him ordering.
Sighing softly to herself she looked down at her hands with a small frown, Hiro was being far too formal to her. It made Era wonder if he was trying to push her away to protect her or he was just closing himself off for her, looking up as he came back she smiled a genuine smile "Thankyou" she said softly still smiling. It was nice and warm in the cafe and knew why a few people were only inside because they didn't need to hurry off anywhere.

As he sat down beside her on the couch with a smile, placing the coffee on the small table before them and kept a few inches of distance between them. His hands were folded in his lap and just for a moment he glanced away out the window and almost sighed before stopping himself. It was so very hard not to be extremely loving and close to her as he had been, but Hiro thought he didn't deserve to be in such a relationship with her. Wether she would ever admit it or not, he had hurt her more than any boyfriend ever should do to their lover, vampire or not, and if she forgave him it would probably hurt more than just pretending it didn't happen. Hiro didn't want Era to think back and have to remember how he held her down forcefully and bit into her neck, giving her no choice and no chance to tell him not to do it.
"You're quite welcome, Miss Era." Hiro told her, smiling a genuine smile because right then, staring into her eyes he remember why and how he had fallen madly in love with the girl. She was so gorgeous and innocent, but it only made him feel more conflicted and pained inside. The more he gazed at her the more he loved her, but the more he couldn't bear the thoughts of what he had done to her. Still, none of his inner torment showed in his eyes, through his smile, or anything. Anyone aside from Era would have never second guessed him and only his lover would ever be able to read him like a book and know he was nervous and uneasy, forcing himself to be nothing less than the utmost polite with her.
Hiro gently watched Era and her coffee, himself not drinking anything. It had been nearly 2 weeks since the last time he had anything in his stomach aside from Era's blood, but his body was so tattered he doubted he could keep anything down if he wanted to eat anyhow. And he didn't want to eat. Just thinking about it reminded him of how he fed off Era. He looked relaxed enough to stay there forever, and the warmth away from the sunlight made him feel a little better, but the large windows to the outside weren't helping. Even so, the vampire made no mention of how he was actually up and about during the middle of the afternoon. He couldn't say it didn't bother him and hurt, but right then the pain only started to feel good. If it meant he could get used to it and treat Era like a normal person, taking her out anytime of day or night without worrying about being exposed to the sunlight, Hiro would bear anything.

Picking up the cup she glanced at Hiro out of the corner of her eye, before she took a sip she leaned towards him and kissed his cheek gently before leaning against the couch again and sipped the drink. After a moment Era's eyes flicked to the clock in the cafe and frowned slightly, her mind was becoming unfuzzy. Holding the cup in her lap she turned her head and looked at Hiro taking in his full apperance, without saying anything she moved closer to him and leaned against Hiro gently after she placed the cup back on the table.
Running her fingers over his skin gently she sighed "Hiro, you shouldn't be out in the sun" she said softly, touching the side of his neck with her fingers she frowned. Moving Era gently moved his head to the side and looked at the scars on his neck, "Oh Hiro" she whispered. Her heart ached that he had done this too himself, looking him in the eyes she frowned slightly "Why did you do that?" she asked.
Taking her hand from his neck she placed her hands on his chest gently, Era was worried about him. The fact the Hiro was putting his body through such pain hurt her greatly, she didn't like people hurting themseleves, but it hurt her more when Hiro did it.

Hiro didn't know how to feel when Era had scooted closer to him, and when she kissed his cheek the nervous feeling in his stomach only got worse. He saw how she looked at him and the sadness in her eyes made him even more confused. Hiro hated being a vampire, but Era also hated him being hurt. The boy was in a position he didn't want to be in and didn't know how to settle it.
"The sun shan't a problem," Hiro told her, his voice nothing more than a painful whisper. But no matter how hurt he may have come off to her as, the love in his voice was never fading.
The vampire averted his eyes as Era moved his head aside to look at her neck. The stab wound was very evident and the scars looked painful. She had asked him with sadness written on her face why he had done such a thing, but there wasn't any greater reason for him other than to get even with himself and her as well. As he had held her life in his hands and tore at her neck, draining her body of almost all its blood, exposing himself to a similar near death experience was the only way he could cope. The excruciating pain of pure silver burning through his skin also made him feel better. Because of what he had done to her, he enjoyed the pain.
"I apologize, Miss Era... what else could I have hoped to do?" Hiro pleaded with her politely. "I almost killed you, the love of my life. You could have-" He bit his lip and it took him a moment to correct himself. "-you would have died, because of myself." It was evidently an extremely hard topic to discuss, on every point from how horrible what he did was, all the way to even how his current state of health made him more self conscious and his lover worried. This in turn made him more conflicted about everything. "You'll be alright, Miss Era. I shan't be a monster no more. Ever." Hiro smiled and showed his teeth a bit, showing her how he no longer had his fangs and because of an artificial blood substitute he was given through an IV at the hospital, his cravings were also gone even though his eyes were as red as blood. But Era wouldn't have noticed because even though the pains of being a vampire in the exposed sunlight made him look more like one, he now wore coloured contacts that were the same amber of his natural eyes. She would never have to gaze into his demonic stare again.

Sighing softly to herself Era leaned more against Hiro, looking at him she frowned slightly and shook her head slightly "My body heals Hiro, it may not be the nicest feeling but it heals...Even if you hadn't taken me to the hospital I would have gotten there in the end" she said softly. Studying his face her eyes went slightly wide as she heard him say that she wouldn't have to worry about him being a monster, as he smiled at her she noticed his fangs were gone.
Bitting her bottom lip slightly she sighed softly again "Hiro I love you for who and what you are...I don't want you to change..." she whispered before she kissed his lips lightly, Era felt confused and sad at the same time. The feeling annoyed her because there was nothing really that could get rid of the feeling, staying leaning agianst him she rested her head on his shoulder she felt confused because he claimed the sun wouldn't be a problem anymore.

Era's sadness made Hiro feel even worse inside, but no matter how horrible he felt he forced himself to keep the majority of it inside. Even if it hurt him and was tearing him up inside, the vampire felt it was better than to expose his lovely Era to the immense pain and sadness. He didn't want to hurt her anymore.
"Of course it wasn't the nicest feeling ever... how could it have ever been? I hadn't even give you a chance..." Hiro sighed, the only emotion he had showed her since they both left the hospital. If he was unstoppably happy, wether he felt the same on the inside or not, she would have to smile and be happy eventually. Hiro just didn't want his own personal selfish and hurt feelings to get in Era's way of feeling loved and happy. He loved her smile and cared for her well being always over his own. "I'm not changing who I am... if not for the better, anyhow, Miss Era. This curse of mine... its been changing me into something horrible, something that can kill his own lover for no reason other than to feed off her blood." Still, Hiro's demeanor was cold towards himself but positively overjoyed that the lady was still alive. "You shan't have to be exposed to that.... and you won't be no more. It'll be alright, I promise. I won't keep you inside all day, we can go out whenever YOU like." Hiro nervously put his arms around Era to comfort her.
"You don't have to be afraid..." he whispered under his breath so lightly she maybe wouldn't have caught it. "I will get rid of this monster... I've known we've loved each other since before you knew about it.... why should I force you to bear with my curse now?" His voice was extra quiet, so quiet it was almost like his thoughts were just being spoke and she wasn't even meant to hear them much though her precious wolf ears no doubt picked up every last word. "I promise... it doesn't hurt me no more..." Of course Hiro's treatments were among the most excruciating pains he had ever gone through in his entire life, but he would go through with it voluntarily just for Era. They were something to get used to and the last time Hiro found himself enjoying it afterwards, more so because he knew he deserved it. But Era didn't need to know. And of course Hiro knew deep down that his vampirism may be able to be managed a bit, but only ever that. It was in his genes, it was what he was. He wouldn't be able to rid himself of the curse despite how desperately he wanted to. But if he could some days even almost forget he was a vampire, it would make him that much happier and Era that much safer. He was willing to try his best to rid himself of the curse.
