A/j and the rest of the band had basically come to the top as far as a local band could call it. They went from playing at small parties and doing battle of the bands to local pubs and even some nice clubs. But so far nothing compared to the gig they where signed up for this night. For weeks they practiced and perfected each cord and every verse. Tonight was going to be the biggest break they had gotten yet and the most high paying as well. Each member was being paid six hundred per set, and they where not even told on how many sets they where to play. Looking around the place A/J noticed they really did not need to worry about room or anything, it was huge in this place. The stage was in the the back against the wall with a bar opposite of it and little area's set up for people to sit. From what he had gathered this was to be a local party mostly but for a different type of crowd then he was used to. These kids and young adults where by far not of low class. That was also why he figured the gig was so high paying. It took three hours to set up and get everything ready and that left them with one hour before the show. Which also each member was giving a room for the night and a card to let them drink. A/J had the good idea going though taking a shower and changing clothes before playing here. Soon after they finished he headed up to the next floor and went into the huge room. Taking a quick shower and changing he went back down and grabbed a few bottles of water and got the rest of the band together. The place filled fast, and the band was not even one of any huge label this made everything a little more interesting. It was to be the biggest crowd the small band had ever played before, which made each members adrenaline rush. Once the lights went out and the crowd started cheering he knew it was time. "Hello Hello Hello are you ready to fucking move? This is New York!! now i want to see some bodies fucking moving!"Giving his little opening he turned from the crowd and motioned to start, their first song was a cover song by as i lie dying called this is who we are. It had to have been a good choice a for when it ended the crowd went nuts. So it seemed it was okay for them now to move on and do some of their own music. For about half an hour the band played none stop only for a brief period between songs. Once the set was over A/J grabbed one of the bottles of water and took a huge drink before pouring the rest of it over his head. "For now we are going to take a few moments to get ourselves a few drinks and maybe meet a few of our fans."Dropping down from the stage he walked towards the bar stopping and shacking a few peoples hands as he did so. The crowds response was making the night though, it seemed like everything was going perfect which was the best part. And no one was getting hurt yet and the mosh pit was not so bad either. But it was meant to be a some what calm party as well. Once reaching th bar he grabbed a smoke from his pocket and lit it up as he ordered a shot of vodka. Looking down he puffed on the cigarette and he ignored some of the people just now trying to relax a little.

Kara almost skipped into the large building, the scent of alcohol and smoke filled her nose, but the unpleasant smells did not deter her. She was her to have fun. To dance and listen to music and this place just seemed so fancy that she couldn’t resist. Kara followed the crowds of people as they made their way to the sounds of blasting music. She had made it just in time to hear to bands opening speech. Well, sentence or two.
Kara slipped passed all the fanatic people, her goal to reach the bar in one piece. Finding an empty chair she put a hand on the centre of the chair, sliding herself forwards in what looked like it should have been difficult, but she managed and while at it, made it look fairly simple. She order a drink, just a small whisky, and then turned her attention to the area in which the band was. She lifted the glass to her maw, taking a sip, only to spit it back as she laughed slightly at the opening, she found it amusing how many times he swore, but then again, it wasn’t that many times considering other people. She took a sip again, managing to swallow this time. She swivelled on the chair, arms leaning gently on the side of the bar.
Kara noticed they did a cover first, the song familiar to her, maybe she had it on her iPod or something. She turned her head, looking her over her shoulder as she looked over the band. Her attention was caught by the lead singer, but only for a moment, as she checked herself and made sure she didn’t stare.
Half an hour passed, and before long the band stopped, the band splitting to have a break. Kara couldn’t help but for her face to flush a light shade of red as the singer from the band sat in the seat next to her. She turned her head slightly hiding her face to save her from embarrassment. After cooling herself, she turned back round, the glass being lifted up to her mouth once again to empty the beverage.
Her nose twitched slightly, the strong sent of smoke stingy her nose, she coughed, the back of her hand going up to her mouth. She quickly removed it, not wanting to seem rude. She turned to face the male, mouth open slightly as if she wanted to say something, but then turned again, deciding against it.

A/J loved the crowd it was something that grabbed his attention more then anything else in the world ever could. The way the people reacted to the words and beat of his bands music just made everything else in the world seem as though it did not exist. That was a feeling that could never fully be explained as adrenalin rushed people moved and the music grew louder. These where the things every band lived for.
After arriving at the bar and taking a sip of his drink. He took note of the girl next to him, his smoke made her cough which in return made him put the thing out as he caught her glance through the corner of his eye. She seemed ad though she wished to speak but was to scared to or something. It was nothing new though it always seemed that their was the one girl who wanted to meet the singer or another member but never could get the courage to speak up.
Turning towards her he gave a soft smile and put his right hand out towards her. "Hello im A/J. How are you tonight?" His words where kept simple and his tone was kept soft. Simply he only wished to get her a little more outspoken, his plan was to start the conversation this way she did not feel so nervous or anything. Normally it worked but still once in a while the person simply broke down and could not speak.
A/J always found it odd how people reacted since it was not like his band was even famous and yet some of the people acted as though they where meeting some one of great fame. It was just bizare at least to him. Waiting for her to give a reply he sat still and kept the gentle smile on his face, the band was not going to start again for another thirty minutes after all so he figured it to be safe to have a drink or two and maybe indulge in a little conversation.

Kara taped the counter, annoyed with herself for being so hesitant. It was just so- So- She sighed, shoulders becoming slacker. She didn’t like being like all the other girls who became a drooling mess on the floor after meeting someone in a band. She noticed his hand from the corner of her eye, and her head turned, she also noticed, that he had put the cigarette out, which was different, usually they just laughed or something and then did something typical men do. A faint smile crossed her face, and she shook the A/J’s hand, ‘Sorry, I’m kara.’ Why she apologised she didn’t know, maybe it was because she had coughed and made him put his cigarette out? I mean, he had been singing for ages, and probably wanted it. Another sigh escaped her maw, ah well, what was none was done. His voice was soft, almost inviting her in, it made her feel somewhat, calmer.
‘I’m good. And you’re a good singer-‘ She paused, ‘Although you need to work on what you say at the beginning-‘ Again she paused, her face showing that she was thinking if she should have said that. She shrugged, she had begun to say it, she might as well finish off what she was saying.‘- Otherwise you might end up swearing after every other word-‘ her hand tapped the palm of her other hand, as if demonstrating, ‘-And that never goes down well.’ She smiled at him before turning to tap the man behind the bar on the shoulder, ordering her second drink.
‘Anyway, I forgot to ask you how you were doing.’ She took the cool glass in both hands, one finger trailing along the top of the glass, ‘and I notice you sung This is Who We Are at the beginning, I’m sure I have that song on my iPod.’ She seemed to be talking more to herself, a somewhat serious look about her face as she tried to remember if she did have it on her iPod.

A/J shook her hand gently in his and shook his head a little at her apology. She seemed a bit on the nervous side but nothing like some girls would be, which was something good to see. More then anything it was just annoying to watch people drool over themselves in front of a band or actor so on. If they acted normal it was much more appealing and pleasant. "Ahh well then Ms. Kara it is rather nice to meet you and no reason to say sorry for anything after all we are all here just to have a little fun."
A huge smile went across his face when she said he was a good singer, even though he had been told more then once tonight it was still nice to hear. Her next comment though almost made him fall out of his chair laughing. She said something about swearing to much, she was right though the intro did need more work but he was nervous as well and wanted to just keep it simple.
"Why Thank you Kara its nice to hear so.. And as for our intro well i must agree it needs work.. But after all like all humans get i was nervous and it just came out like that."
Turning to the bar he grabbed the glass and took a sip before turning back towards the girl, she asked how he was doing which was something he expected but it was to easy of something to answer so he gave a shrug of his shoulders and smiled. It was a good night so far could be better could be worse is how he saw it. But for the most part it was turning out rather well.
"Ahh yeah its a good song its the first time iv actually done a cover song but i thought it would be nice to do a song most of the people here would know, get them into the flow of things and what not. After all most of the people here are rich so might as well give them what they want after all. Im shocked though for some reason you dont overly seem like the type of girl to be listening to that kind of stuff.."
Giving her a small smirk he placed the glass back on the bar, and took another one. "Im going to head outside for a moment.. Its a private sector on the deck for band members and friends only but if you would like you could come?"

Kara’s smile brightened up a bit, he seemed nice, she slide around slightly on the chair to face A/J, her nerves started to die down, and she felt a little more at ease. ‘Heh, I guess, I have to admit, that is the first time I have found myself apologising for no reason’ She laughed slightly, her eyes looking at the rest of the band as the spoke to each other and other people around them. It wasn’t long though before her attention was back on A/J, the look on his face telling her he had had many comments on his voice. She spun the glass I her hands round in small circles. Kara jumped, not expecting A/J to laugh so much, but getting over the shock of the reaction she couldn’t help but have a large grin on her face.
‘No problemo.’ She turned her head to look at the liquid in her glass, feeling that unease from earlier return as he mention being human, ‘Yeah.’ She turned back round a small smile on her face, ‘guess it happens to all us humans.’
Kara felt, once again, perfectly normal, the chance he was a hunter- slim, and he certainly wasn’t a vampire or were, so she had nothing to worry about. She subconsciously nodded as he shrugged, the notion familiar to her with that sort of question. She smiled at him before lifting the glass in her hands to her mouth.
‘Well, for a first timer, you did good. That’s the first cover of the song I have actually heard, well, that I know of and remember.’ She placed the glass on the counter, keeping a hand over the top, she didn’t plan on someone tipping a little something or other into her drink. ‘Ah, you would be surprise, I like a variety of songs.’ She nodded to herself, ‘Looaadds of bands.’ She smiled, curious about the ‘private sector’ he mentioned after she had spoken.
‘Sounds cool. And if you don’t mind.’ She beamed, wondering if she would meet the other members of his little band, and if they were as easy to talk to as A/J.

After she gave him the idea of she would like to go see the private sector he smiled and stood up. Leaving his glass behind he went over and stood in front of her and smiled. "Just follow me and dont worry to much i promise im not some weirdo or anything." Turning around he smiled and slowly walked towards the left side of the room. Pushing the crowd apart as he walked through them, pulling Kara by her arm softly through them as well.
He knew the crowd was not overly happy that he was only bringing one person back stage but he was sure the other members of the band would be back their eventually as well. They where a little more older and into doing things he was not. But still they where like brothers to him any way, the youngest besides himself being twenty three. It was a little odd but most of the time he paid little attention to the ages between them all.
Before long A/J arrived behind where the stage was set up and opened up a door that lead out to a huge out door patio. It was meant mostly for outdoor balls and such which was why it came off as such a huge thing compared to most other patio's set up around the building. And luckily tonight it was the private area for the band to get away from everything.
After getting outside he softly let her hand go and smiled, they where lucky no one attacked them or tried to stop them and ask questions. Looking over at her he gave a huge smile and leaned against the side of the patio's railing. "Well its a bit less loud out here.. So might be easier to talk. Also theirs a mini bar if you need anything to drink thats open to you as well.."
Turning around he looked down to the ground which was rather far down. The night was actually some what warm and their was no wind and a half moon. So it was really nice out. "So any way Kara tell me something about yourself? Its always to meet some one who i can talk to and enjoy my time with rather then being attacked pretty much.."

Kara smiled, leaving her drink on the counter she loosely held A/Js hand as he led her through the crowds of people. She stifled a laugh, she wasn’t worried about him being a weirdo, she was pretty sure she could handled herself against him if he did turn out to be funny. Kara once again felt a flush of red on her cheeks, especially with the people as they watched her be taken to where only the band was allowed to go. To be honest it was her first time meeting anyone in a band, even if it wasn’t a very big, well-known band.
Kara herself did like to sing, although she wasn’t much for singing in public, unless of course she was listening to her iPod so loud that she couldn’t hear herself- then she would be found sharing her music. From what she could see the rest of A/Js band wasn’t going to be in this private room, so most likely it would be just the two of them. Good. She preferred small groups- less of the smell.
Kara almost gasped, outside, the patio was huge- unlike anything she had ever seen. Form what she could see it was for the more fancy parties, quiet one, more like balls. After letting go of A/Js hand she practically skipped to the edge of the patio, leaning her head over it to look down on the world below. All the people looked so small from up here...
Up high seemed so much fresher than down below, all the scents were clearer. Kara took in a deep breath through her nose, there was less of the polluted smell, less of that thug stench, and there also tended to be more blood down on the streets. But up here- She loved the scents. The night was a perfect temperature, and there was only a half moon. The skies were clear as well, well, almost, there were a few clouds here and there.
‘Ooo...’ She looked to the bar, her eyes gleaming slightly. It all seemed so fancy to her. Completely different to how she usually spent her nights. She turned her head back to the view in front of her. ‘this is amazing..’ She breathed, her voice almost in-audible.
Kara laughed, ‘Well, I won’t attack you.’ She turned around, her back leaning on the edge while her arms rested gently on the top, ‘Well...’ she didn’t really know what to tell him, she didn’t have a home, she had no money, and had to squat in a building that had no one in it. Oh, and she was a werewolf. ‘I like singing. And music.’ She paused, thinking about what to say, ‘oh, and I can’t stand people who are constantly wearing plain colours. I love bright.’ She beamed, a hint of her former irish accent coming through in her voice.

Everything seemed to be going fine so far, A/J often preferred to be outdoors rather then in the stuffy crowd filled rooms where every one else wanted to be. Which was the main reason he wanted to go outside, plus out here he could not be bothered by all the little fan girls in which he despised. Odd how that worked when he was younger all he wanted was to fit in and be loved by all the cuties and now that he was he hated it. But that was a part of being in a band he guessed.
"Im glad you like it out here... I figured it would be a little less loud and way more nice here then if we where inside.. Plus all thous fan girls get on my nerves.... Just the idea that they are so easy fo us to get is sickening.."
Walking over to the bar he went behind the counter and smiled a little. as he mixed himself a drink. It was just a simple drink pineapple juice 151 rum Malibu and some sugar. taking a sip he grinned then set the glass down. "Well Ms. Kara what could i get for you this lovely night?"
Listening to her talk a little about herself he kept the warm smile on his face and leaned back a little against the wall of the building. So far she seemed like a rather interesting girl, but something about her just seemed different but A/J just could not put his finger on it. As if she was more different then he could even imagine. Pushing the thought out of his head he picked up his glass and took a sip.
"So music and bright clothes are things you like huh? Well at least i got part of your likes haha... I were some brighter clothing but for the most part my attire is darker colors. But besides that how about more things about you such as where your from and your age so on? I dont wish to be nosey but i figure your a bit older then me and were not born around here by the slight Irish accent."
Looking down at the floor he blushed a little feeling a bit rude now for asking her age. That was something you where not ever meant to ask a girl well at least to him, and yet he just did. But for some strange reason he could not help but want to know more about his newly found stranger friend. Plus if she was from around here maybe he would see more of her? He did not know but had to admit he would enjoy it if he could see her more often.

A deep content sigh escaped Kara as she let her head fall back so she could see the few stars that were scattered across the night sky. Now that she was out in the open and not crowded by all the hot, sweaty people, she felt a lot better. So much for dancing and letting loose. But, part of her was glad she wasn’t, and that she had met A/J.
‘Yeah. Heh. Sometimes I could kill those kinds of girls for the people that they drool over. I’m sure I’d be their hero for the hour.’ She joked, the sound of her half meaning it in her voice. She smiled, turning the watch A/J as he walked over to the bar, pouring himself a rather interesting looking drink.
‘Oh. Well aren’t you the gentlemen.’ She beamed, walking over to the bar, she bent down, looking in the glass to what was in it, the scent coming from it was pleasant, ‘I’ll have one of them.’ She stated, her face wearing that of a child trying her first sweet.
She stood up properly, her eyes scanning the males face, he look fairly handsome if she did say so herself. He looked like he was thinking about something, but she didn’t bother asking what it was, after all it was none of her business, and today, she wasn’t going to let her curiosity get the best of her.
She laughed slightly, ‘Well, yeah, I can’t go a day without listening to some music, and well, at least you are someone in a band who wears those clothes and not a businessman ‘ She said the word in distaste, she hated those grey suited people, always had. ‘Those colours kinda suit you.’ She beamed. ‘Ah. My age. Brave question.’ She sucked in a noisy breath, as if scorning the question, but she didn’t mean it seriously, ‘I’m 18.’ She said easily, ‘I was born in Ireland. Didn’t stay there for very long though. I came here instead. I think I have been to most states. I am here for a while too.’
She noticed his blush and couldn’t help but giggle, ‘It’s not a crime to ask those questions you know. It’s the plastic girls that will have a fit about it.’ She nudged him on the shoulder skipping back to the edge of the patio she leaned over again, one leg lifted slightly to balance her as she leant a little further.

He simply laughed at her first response on his opinion on the fan girls. It was rather nice to have some one to talk with. And some one who was into alot of the same types of things he was made it all the more better. He loved the fact though she did not like the fan girls and felt the same way as he had, and yet here she was hanging out with the lead singer but not at all trying to be all over him, it was rather different and very nice for a change.
"Alright then one mixed drink coming right up" Taking the ingredients he swiftly made her drink as she finished talking with him. when she had asked for the same drink she looked adorable, like she was a child in a candy shop for the very first time. Yet he had to admit he was the same way when he first got offered random drinks. "Well thank you and of course im a gentlemen why would i wish to be anything less with such a charming young lady such as yourself?"
Walking over to where she was standing he stood to the right of her and offered her the drink as she told him a little more about herself. She was only a little older then him and had lived around here for a while now. It was pretty cool how open she was, which made these things all the easier.
"Well i know its nothing bad of me to ask but you know it is still a bit rude of me... And im from here and am seventeen.. So your a little older then me i guess haha. "
Picking up his glass he took a sip and looked towards the sky, it was slightly filled with stars and the pollution from the city was not overly bad for once. So the moon and the stars could be seen slightly from their point. "I wish for one time the entire city would black out so we all could see the sky clearly, like on a night when the moon is full and their are lots of stars showing. Iv never actually got to see a clear night."

Kara clapped gleefully as he started to mix her one of the drinks. ‘You do not look like you would be much of a gentlemen. Nor smell like one.’ She put a finger to her nose, and acted like she could smell him from where he stood- although she could it wasn’t a bad smell- ‘I kid!’ She let her hand fall back down to the edge of the patio, ‘You don’t meet many ‘gentlemen’ type men these days.’ She whispered half to herself.
Kara took the drink from A/J, lifting it to her nose she breathed it to sweet aroma before taking a sip. ‘Wowww!' She stated taking another. Talking to A/J seemed easy, most of the time it was, but, although he was human, it was so much easier than others. The only things she didn’t really want to tell him were that she was homeless and she was a werewolf- And there was that problem again...
‘Nah!’ She waved a hand in dismissal, ‘I don’t think it’s rude.’ Her smile grew wider at his statement, ‘Yup. Only a little older.’ She lifted the glass to her mouth, taking another sip of the drink she clasped in both hands. Now...Let me see... He is 17...I’m am 98...i think... Yup... Only a little older.. She rolled her eyes at her thoughts, hiding the notion from A/J.
‘That would be nice... To see the stars for once.’ She shuddered slightly, ‘I’m not much of a fan of full moons. But clear nights.. I love them. We got them often in Ireland... But I haven’t lived there for long.’

He almost chocked on his drink with her next words but stopped it quickly. She pretty much just burned him which was rather funny. And it seemed as though she was saying he was bad smelling until she added her next part of only kidding him.Looking over at her he smiled a little and shook his head. "Well then i guess ill just have to show you chivalry is not all the way dead yet then wont I?"
Watching her action with the drink he could not help but grin ear to ear. It was a good drink after all but still it was funny to watch her reactions to some of the things that had happened so far tonight. He was still rather glad to have invited her out here though so far the night was turning out far better then he ever could have come to any imagination of. He figured the night would have sucked since it was a rich person party which was not his cup of tea.
"Im glad though it seems you do not mind being open and feel free to ask me what ever questions you may have. " How open she was amused him it was like she was the type of person with nothing to hide, well some what at least. He could sense she was hiding something from him that she wanted to tell but could not. And that interested him far more then he wanted to admit. For some reason though he could tell she was not like the people here and was not some little rich girl.
"So i may be wrong in my guess but i am guessing your not one of these little rich kids? I can be wrong yes but something about you tells me im right. Plus i doubt id ever have such a good time with a rich kid as i am having right now with you... If im wrong im sorry but if not im glad your not.. Im not overly wealthy so i prefer the more lower classed people of the city."
Looking over at her he examined her for a quick second then turned his attention away before she would notice, he had to admit she was very pretty and almost everything about her was the things he liked about a girl. Of course they really did not know each other so his thoughts where going to be kept to himself for now. But maybe later he could ask her out on a date or something. After the show maybe?
"Ahh i see no full moons but nice nights? I would have to say that works haha... I just like the full moon because it lights up the sky rather well and something about it attracts my eye's. "

Kara sighed in content, laughing slightly at A/Js reaction to what she had said and done. ‘Yurr. You sure will.’
Kara spotted A/J watching her drink from the corner of her eye, and moved it so the glass was in one hand, the other wiping around her mouth. ‘When do you sing next?’ She asked curiously, usually, and to Kara’s disappointment, nights that went well ended quickly, the time just flying by. And she dearly hoped it wasn’t like that this time, she found she was enjoying his company.
‘Heh. I like being open about things, helps me get to know other people better, and them with me.’ She gave A/J a warm smile before drinking more of the sweet drink. Again, Kara looked at A/J from the corner of her eye, damn. Was he suspecting she was hiding something? Oh well, if he was then she would have to lie to him. And that would suck.
‘Nooooo Wayy!’ She exclaimed, the thought of her being some snobby rich kid with her head stuck up her arse made her gag, and she figured it couldn’t hurt to tell him that she really didn’t have any money most of the time. ‘I think I would shoot myself if I even spoke to one.’ She shivered, as if ridding herself of the thoughts of some snobby kid, ‘I don’t really have money, and any money I do get is from selling- Stuff...’
Kara trailed her eyes over the place, the area light considering. Even with being so high up the lights from down below lit up even the thirteenth floor of this place. She took a sip of her drink, completely unaware of the fact the A/J had been looking at her, but even if she did know, she probably wouldn’t have minded.
‘I used to like nights with a full moon. It felt right, especially in winter. I suppose, even now it has that magic about it...’ She paused, bending down to place the glass by her foot, hands then going back to rest on the side. ‘I do like cloudy nights though, when its a full moon. It always feels like its watching you. Don’t you think?’

"Well i dont sing again for a while, at least i dont think so its really up to the crowd. So when ever they start calling i start playing." He looked over at her and smiled she seemed a bit sad when she asked the question as if she wanted alot more time with him, it was pretty nice actually to have some one you could spend a little time with and have fun.
He nodded at her response he was glad she was so open it made getting to know her really easy. Plus the other good thing was he did not feel so rude about asking her things. "Oh hows the drink? Its not the best thing in the world but it has a nice kick and taste good.. Well i think at least. But im not even supposed to drink haha." He smirked a little as he tried to hold back a soft laugh.
Turning around he walked back over to the bar and picked up his pack of smokes. He really wanted one by now but wanted to stay far enough away from her so the smoke did not bother her. Plus he was nice after all or tried to be. "Is it okay? If i have a smoke i mean? I dont want it to bother you."
Waiting for her response he leaned over the bar and stared at her waiting. She was really attractive which was something he normally did not like to admit. But something was different about her and it was driving him nuts. He simply could not place his finger on it. Maybe she was different but for now he really mostly was just content to be talking with her and was not going to push that any further.
"Oh yeah i guess thats true.. I mean the moon at times is a bit overpowering to the stars and such but i dont know i just like clear nights. Maybe your a werewolf hehe and thats why you dont like it to much."
Of course his words were meant to be a joke little to his knowledge it was actually true. But he did not know that so it was meant only as a joke and nothing more.
