What is it with movies nowadays? I watched Prom, that horror movie. It sucked so much. First off, there is nothing to be terrified of about a guy with a knife. Tackle his arse, it's not like he's a Jason or a Freddie. That movie sucked so much, they have no decency to put it on commercials. I give it a 1/10 and I want the 2 hours I spent watching it of my life back!
On a second note, the movie I ended up watching right after that was brilliant. It was called "The Life Before Her Eyes" and I'd give it a 11/10.

Now I definately know the feeling of remorse for having spent two precious hours of one's life on a movie only to have it really suck. Which is one reason why I hardly buy/rent movies anymore. "I spent $10 on this load of crap?" However I do take issue with this: First off, there is nothing to be terrified of about a guy with a knife. Tackle his arse, it's not like he's a Jason or a Freddie. It's easy to play Monday morning quarterback when you're not actually dealing with someone who has a knife. Most of the time people that try tackling someone with a knife usually get stabbed or (depending on knife) cut pretty bad. Not to mention people have a strange fear of losing an eye. So Freddy or Jason not I wouldn't blame anyone for running away. After all a cavemen never thought when they first heard a volcano "Ook, wonder what funny animal that was? Must go in mountain and see." They ran away. Personally I'll follow Og's example and find a sharp pointy stick to keep saber toothed kitty or Big Bad Dak away. Maybe fling a few rocks and feces their way as well.

Sidetopic, I've actually grabbed a knife from someone threatening to use it against me but . . . The guy with the knife kills the police officer who is in his car. What did he do? Stick his hand through the inch open window to kill the guy... ? The mother... She could have raised her arms defensively and thus gained some nasty cuts but still survived... He's going for the throat in most of the people he killed, except those he stabbed mercilessly but they could have ran away, fought or something. Instead all their throats just get slit. It's so idiotic. The crazed teacher kills the boy in his girlfriends bedroom while she went to the bathroom, hell, he would have seen the guy coming. That's just the point I was trying to make. The guy isn't Jason, he would have been seen, and there would be some noise. Maybe a guy with a knife is scary, maybe he isn't but you would have seen him, he doesn't appear out of thin air. It's not you live one moment and then the next are dying wondering what the hell happened.

Sidetopic, I've actually grabbed a knife from someone threatening to use it against me.... Let me highlight an important part. All comes back to what every old timer and past life bad boy has said. Never pull a knife (or a gun) on someone unless you're willing to use it. However you never really know what someone is thinking. So I'd never make trying to disarm someone a habit. Arming one's self and then doing so is a different story. As for describing most of the movie. Well... That last word about sums it up. It's a movie.

That's my motto. Never pull out a weapon on someone unless you're willing to use it (and they were).
Yes it was a movie, but it was the suckiest movie of all times. They aired several commercials of the DVD release so I thought it would be good, thus why I'm mad. Oh well...

I'm just trying to say that's why one shouldn't really be concerned with how the deaths went or why no one tried to stop the guy. The bad guy and all the characters are slaves to the almighty screenplay. Which is why I always scream bloody murder (pun intended) about the writers and director. Usually consists of "You f***ing idiots! What the hell was that sh*t? My great grandmother could do a better job, and she's dead in grave!" Would you happen to do the same? Bit of advice. No matter how good the previews or reviews are on the movie. Always watch it with the expectation of it being absolute grade A crap. That way you'll never be disappointed.
