XITLALLI → SUMMER HAS COME AND PAST THE INNOCENT CAN NEVER LAST HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN DRENCHED IN MY PAIN AGAIN BECOMING WHO WE ARE ← The soothing sound of rain pattering against the pavement echoed through the silent, abandoned walls of cracked buildings and unused warehouses. It was a torrential downpour, but luckily there was no wind, making it seem like the sky was dumping buckets on the quiet land known as New York City. For hours already it had been raining like it was, drenching the world under it in sky water. Just south, though, moonlight shown. The storm would pass in minutes.
A lone figure strode through the shower as if there was nothing wrong. It held no umbrella, nor walked with the urgency of someone who wished to remove themselves from the torrent of ice-cold rain. In fact, the figure seemed dry. The outline suggested female—the impeccable hourglass silhouette was the deciding factor—and her hair was dry and loose around her shoulders, raven-colored and straight. She walked with the smallest of pleasant smiles, one hand over her head. Around her the rain fell, but she remained completely dry. Mud was clumped around the soles of her shoes from walking through the muck, but that was from the dirt in front of her that the rain had already gotten to.
To anyone around her, it would look like the Aztec princess was being rained on, but there was a small bubble of dry air around her. Her raised hand was redirecting the droplets and allowing her to remain untouched by the water.
Xitlalli stopped once she was in the middle of an empty lot and tipped her cranium back to look up at the abysmal sky, the varying shadows and highlights the only evidence that there was still clouds above her. Slowly, the dark-haired vampire lowered her arm and let it drop to hand limp at her side. It took a split second—just long enough for her to close her eyes—and then the rain crashed down on her, soaking her in a few seconds. Her arms lifted slightly as she reveled in the feeling of the water against her cold skin, a smile stretched across her face. However, it only lasted for a few seconds before the rain stopped, a single bolt of lightning arching across the sky and lighting up the dark air.
The rain had stopped. Xitlalli let herself stand there for a second, her head straight now, eyes still closed. She loved how this felt. The water on her skin. . . . Her eyes snapped open: there was someone there now, watching her. As fast as the lightning that had appeared moments before, a knife was drawn from somewhere on her person and with practiced ease she tossed it in the direction of the other vampire she felt. It was not a hostile move, as the other vampire could easily evade the attack. It was an announcement; I know you’re here.

i'm bruised and scarred save me from this broken heart
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rain. The one thing she absolutely hated. Rain. The stupid useless wettness that seemed to crawl under her skin and annoy her in ways normal people just couldn't understand. A single figure moved from building to building. A flash of light following behind them as they moved. Soon the figure appeared on the top of a building. The rain pouring down around them. The figure moved slightly and there was a flash of blue light. The figure was female and she was completely dry. A heated air pocket had formed itself around her. It was only visible when she moved. It was like a second skin on the female. Causing her to look distorted and almost as if she was burning herself. None of that mattered. She was here to train. Her powers seemed to grow more and more unstable with each passing day. By coming here to the buildings, she was enabling herself to practice and burn things.
"Well lookie here."
The female's voice was smooth and even but didn't carry far over the sound of rain. Another female was out in the rain, but it seemed that she was actually enjoying it. The female couldn't help but shudder at the thought. Rain was not some thing she enjoyed at all. It was even hard for her to leave her house in weather like this but she needed to train. She needed to get out. It was getting to the point where her skin was crawling with anticipation. Her power wanted out. It wanted to be used. It wanted to be unleashed. Not that she minded. The rain finally let itself stop and once she was sure there would be no more the female dropped her second skin. The moment it fell a knife came flying at her face. Without even a second thought the knife burst into blue flame and melted into a pile of ash.
"Hey watch it there water dancer. I was intrigued. I don't get out much during the rain. I see that you enjoy it though."
A smirk settled on her face as she jumped from the roof of the building and landed softly on the ground. Before the water from her jump could even think about getting her wet, blue flames lashed out evaporating every bit of water before it even touched her. The smirk grew to a full blown smile as she walked up to the newest female. The ground sizzling behind her as she made her way to the water female. Seemed like she had a specialty with water. Oh no she hadn't missed the other female make the water soak her. What do ya know this girl might be a Hydro. The female circled around the water girl a smile on her face.
"Hydro, eh?"
Was all she said as she made her way completely around the girl before stopping in front of her. The heat from her shoes caused the water on the concrete below to evaporate and dance around her in a mist.
XITLALLI → SUMMER HAS COME AND PAST THE INNOCENT CAN NEVER LAST HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN DRENCHED IN MY PAIN AGAIN BECOMING WHO WE ARE ← “Hey watch it there water dancer. I was intrigued. I don't get out much during the rain. I see that you enjoy it though,” came the response from the person Xitlalli had thrown the knife at. Ali had expected her knife to be avoided easily, what she hadn’t expected was for it to combust. It was incredibly gratuitous, Ali reflected, as she had to avoid the the knife anyway—thing did not instantaneously turn to ash like paper. Especially not a finely crafted metal instrument. It was physically impossible. Sighing to herself, Ali placed her hand on her forehead. A young and cocky demi-god, this woman was.
Lowering her hand, Ali lifted her head and looked at the young vampire with a reserved contempt, her features soft and almost sympathetic. “There is nothing to fear from rain. I do not understand why people flee from it as if it were a plague,” Xitlalli replied, her voice soft. The other vampire was circling her like a jaguar who had come across a tasty morsel, and it made the elder of the two cock an eyebrow with curiosity. Besides throwing a knife at her, Xitlalli had done little to make this woman believe she was hostile. Surely she had realized how easy it had been for her to counter her attack? Perhaps she should not have been so hasty to attack an unknown aggressor. Though. . . the Aztec beauty was very sure that this woman here was somewhat. . . unstable. Just like the fire that burned within her.
The other vampire mentioned offhandedly that she had noticed Xitlalli’s power. Again, Xitlalli had to sigh—a gesture that was not unlike the kind school teachers used when a child did something wrong. “For what reason do you showcase your own ability with such disregard? An act as such tells me you are attention-seeking and wish to intimidate me. I assure you that it is not working. I feel it is also my place to tell you that I am not impressed with your power of observation, and announcing my ability is not only rude, but it does make you look like. . . well. . . ,” she floundered for the correct term. “It does not make you look smart, is what I am trying to say.” Xitlalli lectured this woman as if talking to her own daughter—condescending and very blatant.
She continued. “Of course, if you do not care and admit to this fact, then my words have fallen on deaf ears and you will not better yourself because of them. A sad fact, but there is little that I can do to change your mind. Free will is a gift to all of the living things and it is not my right to take it from you.” It was hard to tell what the water-controlling vampire was trying to get out of this conversation. However, unless this fire-wielding vampire was an idiot, it was very easy to realize that Xitlalli was insulting her, no matter how indirect and eloquently it was spoken. The way Xitlalli retained eye contact and barely responded to the cocky display of power revealed that she couldn’t have cared less.
