Where Your Abilities Fall
The Character Talents
::STRENGTHS::
1. Skilled in Karate
2. Use of blades (he's still in training with some)
3. Use of guns
4. Sense a demon's presence (It's gut instinct, and similar to the feeling that anyone gets when someone's watching.)
5. Writing
::SUMMARY::
At the age of four years old, his parents decided to put him in martial arts to better defend himself later on in his life. The boy immediately picked up on what he was taught, fell in love with it, and strived for perfection. About seven years, he received his black belt, but refused to quit there; he wanted to go for the highest rank possible. With having a black belt comes the option of learning weapon usage, and Rowen immediately took up on that offer. Aside from the nun-chucks, he mainly concentrated on blades since those are easily concealed. In his spare time with family members -mainly his father that loved to hunt- he learned how to shoot guns, but he prefers the use of a concealed knife.
With being a necromancer -well, a starting one- he can sometimes sense the presence of another demon. For an average human, it would be like you realize that someone is watching you, only in his case, if a demon is watching it will make him feel threatened. Very threatened. In such an early stage of necromancy, he hasn't been able to raise anyone from the dead except on one occasion. Ever since, he's been trying to do so.
Writing is one of his talents, also his major in college, and is hoping to one day publish a book.
::WEAKNESSES::
1. Books (mainly about necromancy and the "dark arts" as he puts it)
2. His pride
3. Inability to truly understand how others feel
4. Won't trust anyone easily
5. Easily irritated sometimes
::SUMMARY::
Aside from the obvious fact that being a human leaves him vulnerable to the other creatures of the night, one of his biggest weaknesses are books. Rowen cannot leave his house without some form of reading in one of his hands from Shakespeare to Sci-Fi. Reading gives the male fuel for his writing, and is still aiming to be among the best in his classes.
Although the martial arts way teaches one to be humble, Rowen developed a subtle sense of pride. He's humble in the dojang and around those he trains with, or teaches, but he's extremely confident in himself to the point of having an ego. Fortunately it's not extreme, but it can get the best of him at times.
Due to his parents never spending time with him, he developed with an inability to understand how others feel. Sometimes he can relate, sometimes he can't; but most of the time he would rather not get involved in an emotional situation. He's not exactly known for being an emotional guy.
Another issue he has is refusing to trust anyone. Rowen feels that spilling anything to anyone will get you knifed in the back, and that it's best to stand on your own strength rather than the strength of others. Irritating him takes some effort, but when pissed, I would advise backing away...

::SUMMARY::
Rowen stands at about five foot eight, weighs in at about one hundred and forty pounds, and has a slim, athletic build. His eyes are a dark shade of brown, his hair hair dyed an unnatural red (it was a dark blond). If Rowen were to wear any tank tops, one would notice white scars on his arms, and a pagan symbol tattooed on his left shoulder.
When it comes to attire, it mainly rests on how he feels that day, the weather, and what the occasion might be (he doesn't own a lot of clothing). Most of the time he's decked out in dark attire, and rarely wears any bright colors unless the day is warm. This can range anywhere from Tripp clothing to just jeans and a top.
In the dojang he wears a white Gi (uniform) and has a second degree black belt tied around his waist. Every so often he'll wear his Gi outside while he practices with his blades, but no where else.
If there's a special occasion, he will wear a tux-simple as that.

::BLESSINGS::
1. Appearance
2. The fact that he has the "strong but silent" sort of facade about him.
3. Some people like that he plays World of Warcraft
::SUMMARY::
As stated earlier, Rowen loves his books. He cannot go anywhere without something to read in his hand! When it comes to his tastes in music, Rowen will listen to anything say for Rap or Hip-hop. The male considers such things to be mind-melting, and will stick to Classical, Rock, Metal, and sometimes Techno.
If anyone wondered how the male got his scars in the first place, it's from the times he went biking with his big brother. The two would go out to a field away from their home and jump over hills, sometimes falling off to add another scar to their collection.
A hobby that started when he was young is writing. He always had a fascination with words, and was able to read at a high level at a very young age.
If he has spare time, he will sit in his room and watch Animal Planet while playing his favorite game: World of Warcraft.
In terms of dislikes, Rowen does not like women. His experiences with them were always unpleasant (another reason for him to dislike overly emotional people) so he likes to stay away with them and hang around fellow males with the same interests-he'll also stay away from emotional males too. One thing he has experienced in the dojang that irritates him to no end were people who are all bark, and no bite. Many a time he had to put someone in their place inside the school.
Rowen despises "holy" religions from Catholicism to Baptism. He kept hearing about God this, and God that when he was growing up and grew tired of the nonsense. He won't flinch at hearing the Bible being read, but he'll feel an urge to tear out the vocals of the one doing so.
His flaws are the following: pessimism, inability to really connect with others, can be rude, and his occasional cocky behavior. Growing up with little emotional support from his parents, and having to deal with constant threats of the streets whenever he took a walk led him to becoming a very pessimistic male. He's negative most of the time, and rarely speaks in optimism unless it logically fits a situation. This behavior has led him to being unable to truly understand how others feel. Emotionally, he lacks, and can mainly see things from a logical standpoint. The only time he shows rude and cocky behavior is if someone pushes his buttons.
Of course, let's not deny it, Rowen is a fairly good looking male for his age, and some people are attracted to this. His only sense of pride is in his skills, not his looks, so he could care less about the length of his hair or if it looks like the half-braid is too messy. He carries the stereotype "strong but silent" in school considering he rarely speaks to anyone say for his teachers or those at his level. Some also just like the fact he plays World of Warcraft and will talk with him about it briefly.

::HISTORY::
Like many humans, Rowen's life starts of normal with an elder brother, little sister, and parents. Unfortunately, his parents weren't very attentive of him since they were always too busy, and he grew up without having true emotional attachments. The one good thing, in his mind, that his parents did for him was put him in Karate to distract him. He immediately fell in love with it, and sought to be the best in his class. In about four to five years, he got his black belt, but it wasn't enough for him. One of Rowen's goals is to one day become a grand master and open up his own Dojang.
However, due to lack of interaction with his parents, he didn't know how to fully express himself, nor how to truly relate to other people. The only people he got close to were his brother, and sister. Him and Michael, would bike out in the hills far from their backyard while their little sister played with her favorite dolls. For about six years the two did this, until one fatal day, his brother got into a terrible accident while biking alone. His front wheel went over a wobbly stone, he lost control, and crashed into a tree full force. The death of his brother is what caused Rowen to turn completely cold hearted towards many, and he sought to isolate himself from people as a whole.
During the time he was alone in his room, his urge to read and write increased, and he'd rarely leave the place except to: eat, take care of personal hygiene, go to school, and check on his sister. His parents had a decent sum of money so he didn't have to get a job, and they never nagged at him to get a social life. Once more, lack of parents intercepting in his life caused his dislike for company to increase. In school he had terrible luck around women, and he also finds them to be emotionally unstable. As a result, he cares to steer clear of the opposite sex.
When World of Warcraft came out, Rowen was instantly hooked, but would balance said game with his school work and writing. Just because he had a lack of loving parents and an older figure doesn't mean he was gonna straight up fail school. He, in fact, spent so much time reading on so many subjects that he surpassed many students in his class. To make up for his emotional instability, Rowen eventually developed a somewhat egotistical attitude (if you need a good example look at Sephiroth), but its true colors never shine forth unless someone fights him or tries to irritate him.
It wasn't until he was sixteen years old did he start to take an interest in "dark arts", aka, magic. He found out from reading a few books on family history that there were "dark magic" users, and wondered if he perhaps carried the same talents. Many considered it hog-wash nowadays, but he was determined to find out if there was a way to wield anything "supernatural". His luck...wasn't the best. Until one day...
On August 6th at six o'clock am, Rowen was on his way home from a much needed early morning walk when he ran into something he did not expect.
A demon.
The demon mentioned something about "raising the dead" and "using him for a pet to make servants who will do his bidding". Upon hearing this, Rowen ran from the demon as fast as he could only to find himself in the last place he'd ever wish to be: a graveyard. His right hand pressed against a tombstone as his heart fluttered furiously, knowing that there's a chance he may not return home. Demons could easily take hits from even the most skilled martial artist, and for the first time in his life, he felt vulnerable.
It was then something else unexpected happened. A sharp surge of energy welled up in his chest and a black light surrounded his arm. Shocked by the sight, he pulled his hand from the grave and gazed at a black orb that was forming in his palm. Without thinking, he aimed it towards the soil of the grave he stood by, tensed up his fingers, and the black light dove into the ground.
Instantly, the dirt parted, and a body shot up from a wooden grave. Flesh formed over the skeleton, leaving a flawless human...with a sword? Turns out he raised someone from the Civil War. Still panicked by what he just saw and by what may soon happen, he told the man to attack the demon. He did so. The demon, in all honesty, didn't see this coming, and was attacked quite brutally by the angered corpse.
After the demon was sent packing, the body collapsed into a pile of withered bones, the flesh long gone, the sword rusted. Ever since that life changing incident, Rowen sought to find a way to strengthen his powers. If he could bring one back, imagine how many he could do over time!

::RP EXAMPLE::
"Dammit. Why can't I get this right? I did it flawlessly the first time!" A male with abnormally red hair glared at the black book he held in his right hand. His thumb was wedged between the pages to hold them steady whilst his other hand's forefinger raced along the words. "This most certainly cannot be a one time thing! That demon said I was a necromancer..."
Not to mention he brought back someone from the Civil War who released a lot of his restless anger onto the poor creature. Nothing in the world was more terrifying than seeing a wild man shouting in a southern accent at an unfortunate victim while beating them with a blunt sword.
With a slight snarl of frustration, he snapped the large book shut, stood, placed his free hand into the pocket of his baggy black pants, and began the walk towards his house. Once more, his parents were out doing the heavens knows what, and his sister was probably out with his boyfriend again. "Why they waste their time with a significant other is beyond me." He mumbled aloud whilst his fingers gingerly slid along the pages of the book. "And the emotions. Dear God! How can they stand it?"
The door to his home was opened, and he stepped inside, his senses immediately assaulted by the scent of thick perfume and cologne. Great. Sis brought his boyfriend home... Silent as the grave, he walked up the steps towards his room, and stopped just at his sibling's door.
"If you guys keep me up at night, I'm going to knock the door down, and throw you both outside!" Ugh. Why can't his sister keep her sex life under wraps? Demoting oneself to animal-like instincts is absurd!
Screw this. I ain't waiting around to hear her moaning again, let alone her pathetic boyfriend's 'dirty talk'. Rowen walked into his room, placed the book down, snatched up a new one, locked his room, and left the house all together by jumping out the window. It was easy to scale the house anyways.
The night's young, so by the time I'm back they should be asleep. If she keeps this up I'm flat out finding a way to get her kicked out.
