Alias: The Alchemist/Josh
Name: Joshua May
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight
Age: Eighteen
Species: Human
Job: Pharmacist
Religious Affiliation: AgnosticDear Diary;;
Specialties:
1. Extremely Intelligent
2. Alchemy
3. Tinkering
Summary:
Even at a young age it was obvious that Joshua was different. While the other children were just beginning to learn the alphabet he was learning basic math. By the time the others were learning basic mathematics he was reading novels. He got into Alchemy at in teenage years, and while he was amazing at it a slight misfire gave him horns. Ever since then he has been trying to focus more on tinkering with robotics and technology, discovering that if he just lets his hands work he can build or fix almost everything. Yet Robotics is most likely only his current obsession, for while his mind is wired to learn at an advanced rate it also tends to allow him to get distracted fairly easily.
Weakness:
1. High intelligence makes him switch passions quickly
2. Does not understand how to flirt
3. Gets himself in trouble
Summary:
For two months when Joshua was fifteen he wanted to be a foreign diplomat. So he spent all of his time focusing on learning Spanish and French, mastering both languages at an extreme speed. Yet after he was done learning the languages he discovered that what he really wanted to do with his life was be a graphic artist...Just to change his mind a month later. His mind is built to absorb information, yet the second the information is there is quickly switches passions. He does not stick to one thing for long, Alchemy being the only thing which he has focused on for more than half a year. His necessity to learn things had made it so that he has not had a lot of female interaction, and thus has no idea how to do simple things like flirt. Not only this, but since he feels such extreme pulls to particular things he tends to ignore things like laws and personal space...Which gets him into problems at times.Appearance;;
Looks: Young eighteen, maybe seventeen.
Hair: Blonde and shaggy, while it is always clean it always seems to be in a mess.
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5'8"
Marks: Has two hornlike appendages that stick out of the side of his head. Impossible not to notice.
Race: Caucasian
Skin Tone: Very lightly tanned
Body Type: Fit, but still of a smaller build
Clothing Style: He is usually seen wearing suits of various colors, even though the tie is usually barely wrapped on. Josh has been known to wear street clothes, it is just not very common.
Footwear: Tennis shoes, even if he is wearing a suit.
Summary:
While Josh is definitely a nerd in every regard, genetics graced him with good looks. When one sees him walking down a street they can not guess that his mind is filled with equations, that every person he sees is being studied into his mind for future reference. The only which might give him away is his messed up hair, rarely seeing a reason to pull a comb through it. It is as clean as could be, just always in a disarray.
The Alchemist keeps track of his body, refuses to allow his muscles to dwindle so that he can stay at high energy at all times. Yet he does not allow them to grow past a necessary level, sees no use in expelling energy where it is not needed. He is thus fit, even though his natural build is a smaller one. His face does not seem to have a single blemish, minus the fact that he has two horns which stick from the side of his skull. It was an alchemy experiment gone wrong, truly closer to necromancy, but that is besides the point.Personality;;
Likes:
1. The "Supernatural"
2. Inventing
3. Orchestral Music
Dislikes:
1. Heavy Metal
2. Fools
3. Intolerant People
Flaws:
1. Not exactly strong
2. Loose morals when it comes to his inventions.
3. Hand writing can barely ever be read by anyone but himself.
Summary:
Why is it that people like music which is truly just noise? It makes no sense to Josh, he feels that Heavy Metal simply dilutes the mind and makes it function at a slower pace. He can not think as quickly as usual when the music is slamming into his mind, and thus avoids situations with it at all costs. While he works he prefers to listen to orchestral music, to relax he will play the piano. He needs things which run on actual math, not just random beats which never add up.
The supernatural is something which makes little sense to most, and thus he finds it truly fascinating. He has studied it for years, has taken a fine toothed comb to every book on it which he has been able to obtain. The only issue with this is that, not only does he get himself in trouble by trying to study living speciments, but he also considered religion part of the supernatural. He tends to offend people when he compares their belief in God to a belief in Withcraft.
Josh loves inventing random items, whether it be a small pill which can make some full or a gun which pulls power from the sun. He is wonderful at making things which make little sense, seem impossible. Yet to do this he usually has to go and steal items, maybe even hurt others who get in his way. He sees nothing wrong with his actions, simply says that he is doing work in the name of Science and leaves it at that.
Lastly, he loathes fools. He does not expect anyone to understand things at a level which he does, tends to find that impossible, but people need to have some sort of intelligence. He has no patience for those who refuse to learn, or simply cannot for that matter. The only thing which he hates as much as idiots are those who are intolerant. The world is full of people who are different, no two souls are alike, and thus if anyone dislikes someone else for just being different than they are fools.Background Check;;
Family Members:
Zachary May (Father, alive)
Kara May (Mother, alive)
School Attending: Local college for Robotics.
Grade Level: Freshman in Robotics, even though he already has a degree in Chemistry.
History:
Josh was born into a standard upper middle class family, the child of Zachary and Kara May. His mother was a school teacher and his father was a Psychologist, and they of course had a two story home with a white picket fence. Since birth they spoiled him, knowing they only wanted one child, and thus he got everything which he ever wanted. Thing was he deserved these things, he was a good child and never acted as if he was spoiled. He understood to call his elders sir and mam, would hold doors open to girls. Granted, he just did this because he knew it would get him more stuff, but he was in the very least not an overly rowdy child.
He had a gift for knowledge ever since he hit school, even though his parents had been worried since he had refused to speak a single word until he was two years old. Josh simply looked at the alphabet and understood it, would take Legos and build structurally sound cities within half an hour. His parents were as proud as they could be, and made sure he got into the best schools possible.
The human was raised with every possible outlet available, and he used every single one. He would go to the ballet so that he could take down the rhythm of the dancers, would go to Quantum Physics lectures before he even went into his teens. If there was something which he could learn from a scenario, he sure as heck would give it a shot.
School was more than simple for him, he barely needed to think in order to get top marks in whatever class he was attending. The only issue he had was that teachers could never read his hand writing, it was by far to sloppy since his hands could not actually write at the speed which his mind moved. He cured this issue by bringing a laptop to school in order to type papers or whatever else was needed, the faculty actually agreeing with this since they felt just having them in their school would bring credibility to the place.
He graduated High School at fifteen, and entered college just a month later for Chemistry. He had obtained a passion for alchemy, for mixing chemicals and items together in order to see a favorable outcome. He had been doing so for years at that point, and felt it would never hurt to further his education in the subject. College, of course, was to simple for him, but he did not complain since he was stealing chemicals and other items from the school. He had experiments he was doing at home, and saw no use in asking his parents for money in order to fund his research.
Josh tried mixing his passion for Alchemy and the Supernatural one day, attempting to summon a Demon. He had no idea if they existed, but he had surely found a book which looked old that told him how to summon one. The things he needed were odd, but he used his resources in order to get them. Yet when he mixed the chemicals together, brought the mixture to the proper temperature, an explosion occurred. It destroyed everything in the basement he was in, rattled the house, and he found himself flung against a wall.
When he awoke he had one hell of a headache, and when he went to grab the side of his head he felt blood. It was not the first time he had injured himself in the name of science, and thus limped to a nearby bathroom in order to get himself cleaned up. He was going to try the experiment again later, felt he had just miscalculated something, but once he saw himself in the mirror he decided to drop the subject. There were two items protruding from his skull, they were only a few inches long but they definitely should not have been there. Josh should have freaked out, but he wanted to study them further.
People found the protrusions odd at first, especially since they were growing with every day, but since he tended to be slightly antisocial in school no one really said anything. He continued to sail through his courses, and studied his horns on the side. His research came up with absolutely nothing, all which he figured out was that he seemed to need a little less sleep because of them. He dropped the issue, feeling that there were other things which he could put his mind on.
Once he got out of college, an entire year and a half later with all of the necessary credits for a Bachelors degree, he became a pharmacist. He felt it would be the best place to continue getting things for his experiments, no one would notice a pill going missing here or there. His employer did not even care about the horns, just read his grades from college and gave him the benefit of the doubt because of them.
He began tinkering with robotics about a year back, right when he got out of college. He discovered how easy it was to build things with his hands, to put his mind into things and create. Again he needed to steal in order to get his parts, but he didn't care in the least over it. Josh was good at engineering things, and that was all that mattered. He enrolled into a college near his job for Robotics and has been taking classes there at night while he works during the day.

It was dark, it was cold, and Josh had forgotten to bring a jacket. For some reason he had believed a warehouse filled with computer chips would have some form of heat, even though people only went there during the day in order to pick up orders. It had been a slight miscalculation, but he simply shrugged it off. He would not be in there for long, and it was not as if he needed to keep quiet either. The place had a wonderful security force, but it was all electronic. All which it had taken was a little virus being uploaded into the powerbox which had been located on the side of the building and not one camera or laser grid was left on. This was why people still needed to keep at least one security guard around, it was always simple to just hack into a database.
Yet just incase of emergency, Josh had a small weapon in his pocket. It was his own creation, looked like nothing more than a flat PDA yet it sent out an electric shock which could automatically put someone into convulsions. A useful thing for a mad scientist to have, this was for sure. He did not even have his hand in his pocket as he came up to a box marked confidential. Josh rolled his eyes, found it ridiculous that people would ever do such a thing. If someone wanted to hide something they should keep it out in the open, act as if it was nothing important. Idiots...
