Where Your Abilities Fall
The Character Talents
::Strengths::
1. Lie detector
2. Speed
3. Call of the Wild
::Summary::
Even when she was human, Ever could tell when someone was lying to her. She isn't sure quite how - maybe it's the way their eyes won't quite meet hers or perhaps they show a nervous habit - but even the most efficient liars can't fool her. She is also quite fast, not only in her were form. Speed seems to run in her family's bloodline, but although she is faster than most, she is also a lot slower than her relatives. Her favorite talent, however, is Call of the Wild. She has always had a close affiliation with animals, especially canines, and the talent came as a surprise to her only a year or so back during a nasty scuffle.
::Weaknesses::
1. Lack of control
2. Cynical
3. Dulled sense of smell
::Summary::
Ever has never quite been able to completely control her actions while in her were form, but has been trying to master it since her first transformation and is now able to control her actions unless hunger strikes her. Because of this, she always tries to eat well before any full moon. She is also very cynical. Because she knows when people are lying, she's come to understand that the world is mostly made up of liars and doesn't hold much hope for human survival. Lastly, partially due to an accident several years ago, Ever's sense of smell is much less potent than it once was. In her were form her scent scope ranges less than a quarter mile in any direction, and in her human form she can't smell much of anything at all.

::Weight::
98 lbs.
:Marks::
Freckles. Shoulder is scarred.
::Skin Tone::
Average.
::Body Type::
Slender.

::Summary::
At best, Ever looks disorganized. She always wears the most random things she can find, and when she looks in the mirror she doesn't try for a certain style so much as she avoids it. Ever loves being different and will try anything to separate herself from the majority. Barely five feet tall, her curly red hair is usually flying free and her multitude of freckles only make her look even younger. Often mistaken for a child, she doesn't bother to correct anyone who makes the mistake, and when asked how old she is they usually think she's lying when she tells them 18 (they're actually right, mind you).

- Charismatic (even if she is making a fool of you).
::Summary::
Not many people really like Ever. She's blunt, often to the point of being crude, never has anything good to say about humans (or any other species for that matter) and has no passion for much of anything, or so it would seem. She seems to do wacky things to draw attention and anyone who asks her how old she is thinks she's a liar. But those who truly know Ever, and they are few and far between, would know she has a love of all music and outdated things, and she has no desire to be the center of attention. She dresses and acts differently to do just that - be different - and in fact thinks the attention she draws is an unfortunate side effect.
If someone was to look behind what most people see, Ever has emotions, although they are hidden very (very) deep. Even though her sense of smell is nearly gone in human form, she loves lilacs, and often tries to remember what they smell like. She's not hyper, so no one would believe she's a coffee junkie, but without her hourly dose she becomes downright moody. Her most cherished possession is her record player; she doesn't like electronics because society is obsessed with them and would prefer a good book over TV any day.

::History::
Ever's history is short, but every moment she's lived has been both blessed and cursed. She was told she was born to a family in Arizona that was slaughtered by a rampaging werewolf on his first transformation, and when others came to hide the evidence, her family found her. She was only a toddler at the time and was terribly injured. It was all the weres could do to keep her alive, and she was then taken into their custody.
The wolf who killed her family became her brother, Kane, who never felt remorse for what he'd done, although Ever didn't hold a grudge. The two never got along, but the same could not be said for Ever's relationship with her brother Aiden. Aiden was more of a father figure growing up, and he always stood up for her whenever she was picked on by either Kane or the children of the werewolf families. She asked him on more than one occasion to make her like the others, but he always became distant after and she soon stopped asking.
Unfortunately, she wouldn't get to make the choice and neither would Aiden. At the age of 18, after having a fight with Kane, Ever left their home thinking she would start her own life. Unfortunately, the moon was full, and in a neighborhood of young werewolves she couldn't have chosen a worse night. She was attacked by three starving younglings. Sure it would be the end of her, her strength gone, Ever was forced to lie in pools of her own blood as they sliced her hide with passive paws.
Aiden and some of the older werewolves barely arrived in time. She was saved, but had lost too much blood, and Aiden asked her forgiveness before changing her. In the process, most of her wounds healed, but she was left with an awful scar across her shoulder where her arm had nearly been severed.
Ever didn't take well to the changing. Perhaps because she had been injured so severely or maybe another reason, the change was especially painful the first ten-or-so years, until at last she became used to the pain and simply dealt with it. She experienced much worse things in her early years - with every full moon she would go out of control, and Kane seemed to enjoy taking her down each time. In one of these scuffles, she was doused in paint thinner, which she unfortunately inhaled, resulting in her dulled sense of smell.
Still, none of that could prepare her for the night Kane learned to shift without the full moon. Still a youngling, she couldn't yet transform on her own, and was backed into a corner by the big, black wolf while Aiden was too far away to help her. Her adoptive parents intervened, but Kane's power was far superior to theirs and he killed them before they could shift. Ever barely managed to get inside and lock herself in the steel-lined cellar. She called Aiden as quickly as she could, knowing Kane could shift back and unlock the cellar. Aiden instructed her to run and came to her rescue once again. Not wanting to fight his brother and knowing Aiden would stop to help Ever before following him, Kane retreated.
Even knowing what his brother had done, Aiden had always had a strong sense of family loyalty and decided to try to convince Kane to come back to them. He left Ever with enough money to find a cheap apartment in the city and stock up on food, and left to chase Kane down.
And here Ever remains, living in a run-down apartment in New York City, working for the Starbucks on the corner. She doesn't know where Aiden or Kane is, and hasn't had contact with any of her own kind in nearly twenty years. She hopes that Aiden is alive but had no intention of searching for him, nor does she ever intend to rely on him should she ever see him again.

::RP Example::
Twenty-some Years Earlier
Air whistled by her head, her feet pounding out a frantic rhythm on the frozen ground. Ever breath that was dragged from her chest left a stabbing pain in her lungs and fogged around her mouth. She was shivering from the cold, her jacket forgotten in her hurry, but she didn't feel the temperature. Her blood was pumping through her body faster than she'd thought possible, her heartbeat racing from the exertion, and also the terror.
She could hear him, just behind her, gaining impossibly fast. There was no way to outrun him, and as she shot glances in every direction she realized there was no place to hide. In a desperate attempt to avoid the werewolf's razor-sharp claws, Evermore ducked and zigzagged through the trees, but it only caused him to gain on her faster.
She wasn't going to make it. Aiden was too far away, and Kane had lost his mind - she could see it in his eyes, hear it in his voice. He'd slaughtered them both, her loving parents who'd given her so much when she'd asked for so little. She felt her eyes burn and rapidly swiped at the moisture that blurred her vision. She couldn't think of them right now. Nothing she did could bring them back. She could only think of herself and survival.
Damn this blessing that was also a curse. Her wolf form would be invaluable now, but she was too inexperienced to really use it. She couldn't call to it at will. No, only on those few nights could she bring it out, when the moon was full and she was forced into a hungered frenzy. But how was she supposed to know Kane wasn't bound by the moon's cycle? He'd kept it hidden from them, for how long she didn't know, but now he'd mastered it and she got the feeling the force that had driven him to train so hard in secret was the thought of her death.
She heard him laugh - a strangled kind of snarl that made the hair rise on her arms. His crazed voice filled her mind, infiltrating her barriers, seeping into her very core with his insane mumbling until she thought she might vomit.
Where are you going, Ever? You can't expect to outrun me. His laughter made her heart slam against her ribcage in fear. Did you call our brother, sister? Don't expect him to be of any help. Even if he does somehow manage to arrive in time, you know he can't transform without the full moon. He's too weak to help you this time.
Yes, Ever was all too aware of that. She regretted calling Aiden with all her heart. He'd sacrificed so much for her because she was too weak to help herself, and for it she rewarded him with this? Asking him to commit suicide in an attempt to kill his only brother? She would have let Kane kill her now if she thought it would keep Aiden from being hurt. But she knew better. Kane was too far gone, and Aiden would pose a threat when he could shift again.
A stabbing pain shot through her side and she staggered, barely managing to stay on her feet and keep running. The claw had sliced through her flesh like butter, leaving her clutching at the wound as she hobbled forward, leaving a trail of blood in the snow.
She had to keep moving. Just until Aiden arrived. Maybe there was nothing they could do, but they had to try. She refused to just keep running until her legs gave out and Kane killed her then. She would fight back, even if it might be the last thing she ever did.
A snarl ripped through the still night air, making Ever come to a halt in shock. Behind her, prepared to attack, Kane froze, glancing around to assess where the threat was coming from. They both knew that sound. She didn't know how he'd done it, but Aiden was close by, and he'd managed to shift. The growl was a final warning, the last chance he'd give his brother before he protected Ever with his life.
