Summary:
Even though life has treated him really badly, he still keeps going, hoping for a change for the better. In quite some cases, his eagerness to please and all come quite handy and can help keep him out of trouble, even if it doesn´t always work. Sometimes others lose interest in hurting him once they notice that he doesn´t want to fight against it but is willing to just accept the fact that he´s supposedly done something wrong or decides to beg for mercy. Since he´s a werewolf he´s quite strong, stronger than an average human and also faster. In his beast form the strength and speed increase even more, of course. Also the claws and teeth can do quite some damage if need be. But more than those he uses his heightened senses to sense danger beforehand and get out of the way of trouble and avoid any confrontation, if possible.

Summary:
Even if the ability to give in is a good one, he is far too willing to do it. Also he is quickly put down and convinced that he´s just unworthy trash, making him even more submissive to those who aren´t. He´s more slim than athletic so he doesn´t have that much muscle mass. Against a human it isn´t really important but when confronted with another werewolf or even a vampire, it can be inconvenient. Also he has seldom had enough to eat, which leaves him rather weakened. As a werewolf he has quite some power and could overpower any human but he´s unwilling to use the strength in a fight. He only occasionally uses the senses and sometimes the agility. Another thing is his fear, almost more a phobia, of women and doctors. Especially the combination of both makes him scared out of his mind.

Human Appearance;;

Hair: Shou´s hair is dark brown and most of the time rather dishevelled since it isn´t all that easy to keep it tidy with noting but his fingers, especially when it grows longer. He does get it cut when he can, but it usually takes some time, so it grows longer often. Otherwise it´s thick and smooth, the strands at the front usually falling over his eyes. When washed and combed, it´s really nice hair.

Eyes: Dark blue eyes. But it depends on the light how they look since they sometimes appear almost black and at another time a much lighter blue shade. But usually you can´t look directly into them since Shou is very reluctant to make eye-contact. His emotions reflect quite clearly and strongly in his eyes, so it isn´t hard to read him.

Height: 5´8" at present but will probably grow to about 5´11" as he grows up.

Marks: A scar on his left cheek. It´s not very noticeable when his face is relaxed, but when it tenses or he smiles, it stands out rather strongly, often giving the impression of a sarcastic smirk.

Skin Tone: Has a rather pale complexion, lighter than it looks at first glance, since it´s hard to really keep clean while living on the streets.

Body Type: His built is slender, but even more so at present since he´s underweight most of the time. He has some muscle but not all that much, far from bulky. If he was fed properly, he´d fill out nicely and actually look slender instead of skinny.

Clothing Style: Whatever he can get that´s about his size. When you don´t have anything, you aren´t picky about what you get, as long as it keeps you warm, it´s fine. Though if he could chose, Shou would go for a pair of jeans, a T-shirt and some jacket in a bit darker and/or subtler colours. He´d look good cleaned, combed and in a dress shirt and a fancy suit too, though the chances of seeing him in one of those are below zero at least with the life he´s leading now. Currently he usually wears a pair of light jeans, a long sleeved black shirt and a dark blue jacket that a friend gave him some time ago. He makes an effort to wash the clothes as often as possible since he doesn´t like being dirty but it´s not exactly that easy.

Footwear: Like with the clothes, anything that more or less fits. Right now he´s wearing a pair of combat boots given to him by a waiter at a local restaurant [he also occasionally gives Shou some food at the back door in the alley when no one´s watching]. Shou will probably be wearing those boots until they are completely worn and unusable and hope to find another pair of shoes before that happens.

Summary:
Though he´s skinny at present, Shou would have a nice body with regular meals as to fill out a bit. Also clothes that rally fit would probably do quite a trick, since the mostly too big clothes he wears now, make him look even thinner than he really is. But hey, he can´t afford to be picky, after all. His hair is nice and rather shiny when he gets a chance to wash it, though usually it´s rather dishevelled and a bit dusty since the streets and abandoned buildings aren´t really all that clean. He has a rather strong jaw and firm chin, with a bit of a dimple in it. Also the cheekbones are rather prominent. What probably stands out most are the full lips. Washed and in fresh clothes, Shou would actually be quite a nice sight since he´s rather good looking when you take a closer look. He´s not what you´d call classically handsome but he certainly has something though he´s not aware of it himself.

Eye Color: In wolf form, Shou´s eyes are an icy blue colour, much like the eyes of a husky.

Fur Color: Dark grey, mixed with dark brown, almost black. Shou is very thankful for the dark colour since it´s easier to stay unnoticed in the dark and the shadows.

Fur Length: The fur is about middle-length and shorter at the same places that it is by real wolves [muzzle, paws].

Fur Texture: Thick fur which is messy most of the time [like his hair].

Size: In his beast form, Shou measures about 6´3˝ in height if standing on his hind legs, which he rarely does. This height will most likely also increase a little as he grows up.

Marks: The scar on his cheek is still there in wolf form and not covered by fur.

Summary:
Shou likes people who are nice to him and don´t despise him just for living on the streets. Of course he´s very happy if someone gives him something to eat or a bit of money to buy something to eat. Or if someone gives him the opportunity to do some work for them [like carrying things in a warehouse or something similar with not much contact with people] and earn some money. Shou also adores TV and will stand or sit in front of shop-windows of electronic stores for a long time to watch the movies and shows on the TV´s there. Unfortunately he can only look at pictures mostly, since there´s no sound outside and subtitles aren´t any help since he can´t read. Occasionally he´ll slip into an electronic shop at the mal to watch the TV´s there, but he´s usually shooed out since the clerks think that he´ll try to steal something. Shou also likes the night and the moon very much, both have fascinated him since he was a child and he loves watching the night sky.

He immensely dislikes pain and fears it very much. Also he has a fear of laboratories facilities that look similar [hospitals]. The personnel are included in this fear, especially female personnel. The second can be quite a problem if he´d sick and needed a doctor, because he really panics and turns into a shivering, whimpering mass of fear. He also doesn´t like to be around many people or people getting too close to him. Even more then people coming too close, he hates people touching him. Even if someone has no intent of hurting him, touch will still make him flinch away since it´s a natural reaction of his body after a deal of bad experiences with people [being hit and beaten up].

Shou is very shy and nervous around people since he´s used to being treated rather badly by them; worse by some than by others, but still. Also Shou has somewhat of an inferiority complex, since he´s convinced that if people despise him, he must deserve it on some level. Another thing is, that Show is very submissive and would as a wolf roll over and present his throat at once if threatened, begging for mercy. It´s basically what he does in human form also, try to avoid confrontation as much as possible even if it means agreeing that something is his fault even when it isn´t and even apologizing for existing. Almost anything really to just try to minimize the pain no matter the humiliation since he has very little to no pride. Being a werewolf doesn´t really help him much, since he´s unwilling to show any supernatural strength in front of humans, convinced that they would hate him if they knew what he was. He has big troubles trusting people and will approach only when he´s sure they won´t hurt him, or not approaching them would make them more angry at him. He´s often very nervous and it´s easy to see since he´s very tense and his fingers start twitching then. Also he´s rather easily frightened by people, though he doesn´t have a phobia of everything.

Family Members: Shou´s parents died in a car accident when he was five years old. Since he was an only child, he has no siblings.

Childhood: Before his parents died he had a pleasant childhood, though they were busy and travelling a lot, they still found time to spend quite some time with him. When they weren’t around a nanny, who was a very nice person, took care of him.

Transformation: He was a bit of a strange child, often sneaking out at night at the orphanage to watch the stars and the moon, since they fascinated him. One night he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time and got attacked by a lycan. It would probably have torn him apart and eaten him but since it was being pursued by a hunter who caught up during the attack, it didn´t have time to do it since it had to fight the hunter.

Prey: When he´s really hungry, Shou will resort to shifting and hunting. But since he´s such a sensitive person he could never hunt humans. He usually gets out of the city and to the surrounding woods to catch a rabbit or two. Only if he´s really hungry will he go for something as big as a deer; but never humans.

Moon Tidings: He can shift when he pleases, having been forced to learn that in the past. Not shifting on a full moon is impossible, even if he avoids shifting as much as possible. However, if he doesn´t shift every now and then, the wolf grows restless and becomes harder to control, though he still can control it. Shou can also turn specific body parts at will.

Other Transformation: Shou wouldn´t want to transform anyone else. Though if it ever did happen, it would be through a bite in his wolf form, or a claw wound.


History:
Shou was born the first [and only] child of a French actress and Russian actor. His childhood was mostly spent in Russia, though occasionally he would travel to other countries with his parents when they were filming. Even though they were both busy a lot, they spent as much time as possible with their son and were very loving parents. When their schedules prevented them from being with Shou the nanny looked after him. Shou had liked her too, she had been a very nice person and always friendly and warm with Shou.

After his parents died everything changed, of course. Shou had been in Petrograd at that time and was put into an orphanage there since no relatives were willing to take the responsibility of raising him. The orphanage wasn’t a bad place, really. A bit strict and not as luxurious as he´d been used to before, but other than that and a few mean kids, it was quite all right. Though Shou, of course, missed his parents very much and was rather detached for the first weeks. Slowly he did start to bond with the other children, made friends and it was all kind of okay. He wasn´t as happy as he´d been before, but it could certainly have been worse.

One thing Shou also missed a lot, was watching the moon and the stars outside at night they´d often done with mommy [sometimes even daddy had joined them]. So though it was forbidden, and though he otherwise obeyed the rules, he often sneaked out at night when the others were sleeping, to watch the stars. On one of those nights, a very beautiful full moon night the attack happened. While Shou was gazing at the stars and the big, bright moon, a very big dog pounced on him. At least that was what he thought it was, though it had been a werewolf. But as soon as it had appeared, it was gone already and a moment later a man came running after the dog, stopping to check if the boy was alive and all right. He cursed when he noticed the blood and picked Shou up, bringing him back inside the orphanage since the boy was still shivering in fear and shock from what had just happened.

Since there had been a possibility that he wasn´t really infected and had only gotten scratched up by a branch of the bushes that had been all around when he was attacked, Shou was kept at the orphanage, but put in a separate room as the full moon neared. After the first shifting, when the full moon came, there was no more doubt. Still the orphanage could be persuaded by the hunter to keep him [only for a short while, since the orphanage was desperately searching for someone to adopt him], though now the adults were very watchful of him and kept him separated from the other children as much as possible. They did give him colouring books and such to keep him from getting bored, so he didn’t mind that much, though he did get lonely at times. At the time of the attack, Shou had been six.

The search for a person willing to adopt Shou had been successful since a few weeks later a woman came to get him. She was a known and respected doctor from the United States who also had knowledge about what he was [though ti was requested that that be kept hushed]. She seemed like a really nice lady to Shou and he was happy that she wanted to take him with her. After adopting him, the woman took him back to America with her and Shou was excited the whole flight, thinking about the new life awaiting him there.

It turned out to be completely different from what he had imagined though. Even though she showed herself as a very kind person in public, there was nothing nice about her in reality. It soon became clear that she hadn´t adopted Shou because she wanted a child, but because she wanted a werewolf and a young, small one was much easier to handle than a full grown one. She was researching the healing ability of werewolves, the general faster healing than humans had and the healing with the shift. She did intend to use it to help humans heal wounds that would otherwise prove fatal, but that didn´t change the fact, that her methods weren´t what you´d call humane. They didn´t have to be, since they officially didn´t exist.

Shou was kept in an empty, sterile room with a mattress on the floor for a bed. If he was good and did everything he was told to do, he was sometimes given toys but it was a rare treat. He was taught some manners and how to talk to people properly for when people came to visit, since then he was playing the role of the son instead of the test subject he really was. But as soon as there was no one other around, it was back to the room where he spent most of his time. If he wasn´t there, he was either in her personal laboratory or the laboratory her employers had provided for the research, complete with staff.

Since he shifted only on full moon and when under the influence of strong emotions, the possibilities for research were rather limited. To get around that obstacle, Shou was forced to learn to shift at will at an unusually young age for a werewolf. With time he also learned [was made to learn] how to shift specific body parts. He hated shifting because it always hurt so much and there were always needles and machines and other strange things around when he had to shift. But he´d already learned by that time, that disobeying and refusing to do it would bring a punishment that would be even more painful than the shift itself. So he always obeyed since he hated pain and tried to avoid as much of it as possible. Sometimes he did something by mistake to make others angry with him, then he found that the best way to act was to quickly start apologizing for it, though it didn´t always stop punishment, it lessened it at least.

All the time of being an obedient little test subject, Shou was looking for a perfect opportunity to escape. He had stopped trying at every little opportunity, since that always brought punishment, like disobeying orders. But the perfect opportunity did come, years later, but still. He was at the big laboratory again, and something had gone wrong in another part, some chemicals mixed up or something. There was a lot of smoke and panicking people. Shou quickly looked around to see if anyone was watching, before he slipped away from the research area. He darted down one of the hallways, knowing them good since he had been led along most of them numerous times. Hoping that no one would be around to see him, he tried for the one he knew that lead to the back door. But there were several doors in between and though the first two were unlocked, the one further down the hallway was. After trying to get it open, Shou had bit his lip and had starred at the door on the verge of tears, since there probably wouldn´t be another opportunity for a long time. He had caught the sound of someone approaching then and a lab assistant had been coming along the hallway, approaching him, when he turned away from the door. Shou had made himself as small as possible and opened his mouth to start apologizing, but the man just put a finger to his lips and showed him to be quiet. He´d pulled a magnetic card from his pocket and opened the door, motioning for Shou to follow as he went to open the next and finally the last, which lead outside. “Good luck,” he had told Shou, as the boy had stared at him in surprise and amazement. He had snapped out of it however and nodded, whispered a ´Thank you´ and quickly left the building, starting to run and get as far as possible from it.

After he had gotten to the other side of the city, Shou had spent some time living on the streets there, though mostly he stayed hidden somewhere at day, since he didn´t know if they were searching for him or not. Afraid of drawing attention to himself, he avoided people as most as he could and at the first full moon, slipped out of the city. In wolf form, he ran trough the surrounding woods, to get to another city, wanting to get further away. He could have left the first night, but he had avoided shifting as long as possible, because now he didn´t have to shift. It went on like that for some time. Shifting, running to another city, spending the time until the next full moon in the city, shifting… Until he felt he was far enough away. Since then he´s been staying in the same city, only heading out in the woods to shift occasionally as not to grow too restless.

Shou has been living on the streets for two years now and has gotten kind of used to it. Mostly he sleeps in deserted houses or warehouses, anything moderately safe really. When it gets really cold, he occasionally spends a night at a friend’s apartment or house [he has gotten to know a few people who he trusts] but only a night or two, since he usually feels like he´s being a burden since he can´t really give them much in return.
