History:
The Sarret family lived in a small log cabin at the bottom of the mountains in Europe. A poor family of four simply trying to make it through life.Emma's father, August, was a farmer and took pride in his work. He is probably where Emma received her strong work ethic from. Elise, Emma's mother, kept the house clean as a lady in that time should, and Emma and her younger sister, Gloria helped out wherever they could. It was a simple life and though Emma enjoyed it, she longed for something more than hanging clothes on a line outside to dry.
One quiet winter evening during dinner, a loud knock thundered through the cabin, causing the family to look at one another in bewilderment. Who on Earth would be visiting them at this hour? Wait... who would visit them at all? They had no friends, no other relatives that lived near by. August rose from the the table with fear in his eyes, though he tried not to let on to the rest of his family exactly how frightened he was. "Who could it be?"Elise asked lightly, the napkin in her hand now wrinkled from grasping it so hard. He waved his hand at her nonchalantly and made his way to the door as the knock grew louder now and more demanding. Emma sat wide eyed as she watched her father. The door opened to reveal a young man, about the age of 27 or so, drenched in his own blood. Emma's hand went quietly to her mouth just as her sister let out a small gasp. Elise was to her feet by this point, rushing oer to the door to aid the young man. He was slender with golden eyes and hair, his suit would have looked grand had it not been covered in slits. The poor bloke looked like he had been through a war.
"what happened to you sir?" The couple led him inside to the sitting area. Elise jumped up to fetch a cloth and water. August tried to grab his arm to get a better look at where the blood was coming from and if it needed immediate medical attention, but the boy slumped into the couch before he could firmly grasp his arm.
"I was on my horse here in the forest, headed to the city to visit family when I was ambushed. A group of wolves came hurtling out of no where, causing my horse to flip me off his back and run off." Emma had rose from the table, listening in awe to the man's story. It wasn't long before she found herself seated on the floor at the foot of the couch. Her mother had returned and was dabbing the wounds on his arm with the wet cloth.
"They.. I had no idea wolves were so strong. The largest one stood back and watched as the smaller ones made their way over to me and begin to rip me apart. I tell you, those were no ordinary wolves. Something was ... different." He sat back harshly, eyes pretty much in a daze as he looked forward. Emma sat, completely fascinated by the man. Though he was covered in blood, he was gorgeous.
August let out a sigh, ready to go out and defend his property at the aspect of wolves running amok in his own back yard. He had no idea that the wolves were indeed werewolves.
"Stay here the night. You can't go wandering out there with wolves on the lose. What's your name by the way?"
All eyes turned to guest, waiting to reveal the identity of the strange boy covered in wounds. "I'm Jayce. Jayce Holten." he smiled crookedly and met Emma's eyes for the first time. The shock of his gaze on hers was almost deafening. Her cheeks burned and for a second, she looked away. It had been the talk of the family dinner last week at what to do about Emma now that she was old enough to marry. August had arranged for her to marry a good friend of his, Lord William, but Emma refused. She ranted on about how he was far to old and could die in her arms at any moment. But her argument was lost. August had sent word to William that his invitation to his daughter had been approved. It wasn't long before Elise took this as a way out of their financial debt. Emma saw it as being enslaved for the rest of her life.
Looking back to Jayce, his eyes were on August now and they were in deep conversation about the wolves as Elise cleaned up the blood from his arms and face. "Please Emma, go and fetch the extra blankets out of the closet dear." She stood up silently and did as was told. When she came back to the living quarters with pillows and blanket, he was already gone with father outside to the well to freshen up. Gloria, still seated on the floor, smiled broadly to her sister.
"I saw you Em. That look on your face when he looked at you."
"What are you talking about. What look?" Emma spread the blanket across the couch neatly and fluffed the extra pillow.
"Oh don't play dumb with me Em, I saw it. Your face turned seven shades of pink! You adore him! You don't have to lie."
"Gloria stop it, how on Earth can I adore someone I only just...."
"Adore me?" A deeper voice was entered on the conversation now. The voice from only a few moments ago that had captivated Emma.
"Oh come now Gloria"Elise snapped as she closed the door behind August. "You know as well as we do that Emma is to be married to William. Why would she look on for another suitor when hers is perfectly fine." Elise's eyes tried to bore deep within Emma's skin to get her point across. Emma nodded lightly and put the pillow down on the arm rest. But Jayce continued to smile and watch her like she was on display.
Night came and all Sarret's were tucked into their beds. Gloria and Emma shared a room no doubt. The moon poured in through the window like milk. Emma wasn't asleep. Faint noises from outside kept her from sleeping. It was about two in the morning when something rapt at her window. Emma shot up from her bed, tossing the covers to the side.
A hand was pulling the curtain back by the time her eyes focused.
"Jayce? Um.. Mr. Holten?"
"You had it right the first time." he sat on the ledge of her window and stared into her room, his eyes averted to the sleeping female in the adjacent bed. He put his finger to his lips and signaled her to follow him.
"I am sorry for disturbing your sleep. I couldn't help but well, you will think this foolish of me, but, I was wondering if that was true. What your sister said." he smiled and turned to her as she climbed out of the window. Emma's whole face turning scarlet once more.
"Well, I .. do find you handsome sir."
"Not a surprise..." he smirked and took her hand lightly, caressing it between his fingers. Emma couldn't help but feel light headed from his sweet gestures. He tugged her to follow him, they walked for hours doing nothing but talking of his adventures and her family. The night seemed to creep by, the clouds shifted, revealing the full moon.
"I... feel, I feel sick" he clutched his stomach and leant over, feeling nauseated. He caught sight of his reflection on the back of the water bin. His face was growing hairy, his eyes dark and before he could think, a howl escaped his rugged lips.
Emma clutched his arm for support thinking he was only sick, little did she know her fate was resting in this night. He turned and looked her face to face, baring his fangs. Emma tried to scream, but no sound came out, even if she did, the power of his growls would have surpassed her humanly yells. Jayce was hungry, but he saw no food in her, only a mate. Perhaps the female Alpha he needed. Something in him took over, his brain was on Dog-mode as he bit her arm, changing her forever.
The next morning, voices awoke her in hte woods. Jayce was talking. He was tlling August of her passing....? Emma looked down to herself, clearly she was still alive?! Why would he lie. He was yards away but she could tell that he was staring in her direction, a face telling her to either keep quiet, or he'd kill her. She sat back in hte bush and said nothing, waiting for him to come back
"What is going on?"she asked sternly.
"Your journey has only begun. Follow me." she was confused as ever but did as told. They decended into the woods, only to find animals sprawled everywhere. "This is what you did last night.. Do you remember?" Emma looked on with wide eyes. There was no way she did this! She was with him all night, until he got sick and then....
Blank
Nothing came to mind. "I .. how?" Jayce explained what he saw, how she ripped through the animals limbs' one by one after changing into a wolf herself. Emma clutched her arm, the bite mark was still there. Her eyes glared over to Jayce,.
"YOU did this! YOU.... YOU ruined everything!"not only did she feel affection and ruin her wedding to William but now she was damned dog! Her heart rate sped up, causing another transformation to come onto her and without any remorse in her bones, she lept onto him, ripping his skin from his bones. The transformation was a tiring one. Emma fell asleep and when she awoke again, it was night. And Jayce was gone....

Milton Waldorf (Harry Potter board)[Durmstrang Institute] posted to Gabriele Rosier.
The world stopped turning briefly when she touched his arm. It was so warm and comforting, unlike Cecily's hands of rage that tried to strangle him almost daily. This hand was shocking electricity through him he never felt before. A small hiccup escaped from his throat, making him smile but it faded all to soon when she commented back to his tormenting Cecily.
She's the most beautiful girl in school, and she's pretty nice
"You don't know Cecily if you think she's nice." he leaned back on his arms and looked to her face, well he tried to focus on it, but it actually came easier than he thought it would. " She's not ugly, don't get me wrong but .. I just don't see her like that. Gabrielle, she's Chase's. He loves her, not me. Cecily is as nice a piranha swimming in four inches of water. Not happy, all the time." he shook his head. "She's just not for me. and I'm not for her. I hate her. I'm not understating this either, I truly hate her." His head hung low as he felt the ground spin beneath him again. Why did it have to have this kind of affect on him? Stupid drink! Ugh. "And" he sniffled. He didn't care that he sounded like a wounded two year old. His secrets were safe with Gabby and that evil Chelsae wench was far from over hearing them.
He couldn't stop himself, his words were spilling from him in a drunken curse that wouldn't have stopped if he wanted to. "I would kiss you right now if I could stand straight." He lifted his head from looking at the ground to look up at her, she was probably going to hit him right now for being so stupid. But he didn't care. All the things being built up him were slurring out in a drunken passion to tell her how he felt. "I like you Gabrielle"
"I think you must have hit your head when you fell." her reply to his brief confession of his love to her was stunning. Her face tried desperately to keep from bursting out in enthusiasm.
"I don't think i did. And I've never been more sure of myself." he smirked. "Had i not been drunk, i might have never told you. It's not the whiskey talking because if it was, I'd probably have said something i regretted. And I don't regret either that I said so far tonight" he understood completely that she didn't want to have anything to do with him all because of Cecily. Maybe he wasn't her type anyway, but it still would have been nice to at least get a chance to feel her lips against his, to make the dream complete. She must have thought him insane, an idiot. He shook his head lightly. her face was his focus, everything behind her was a blur and that wasn't the drink doing it, his mind was blanking out everything else to focus on her. Where had she been all this time? it's a dream he couldn't seem to rid of, not that he tried anyway. Being faithful to Cecily was like staying afloat in a hurricane in the ocean. it wasn't happening.
"I just... don't think I'm saying it to play a Blaise. I'm not like him. I..." he wasn't sure what to say because at this moment, he felt he was indeed channeling Blaise. He had a fiancee at home and a lovely woman right here in front of him. His hand went to hers on the ground and he wrapped it tightly with his. "I have to tell you, while my courage is still here, Cecily cannot be the most beautiful girl in school because she has nothing on you. Something pulls me to you and I cannot fight it any longer." he knew he couldn't fight anymore due to the fact that he would be married in time to a woman he cared nothing for. He wanted to at least let Gabrielle know what he felt before that time came. his hand on hers squeezed a tad tighter, the warm electric current running between there hands was invigorating.
He saw her mouth open to retort and caught her, shaking his head before speaking lightly., "No, you don't understand Cecily. I don't even understand her, only one person does truly and he isn't even a person, more of a monster but i don't see him like either..." Milton was rambling, trying to keep his lips from moving to hers. It was tough. He wanted to but he couldn't do it. She might get offended and try to kill him, well maybe not kill him, she wasn't Cecily. No! Much better than her!
"The whole being friends with Jordan won't help being friends with Cecily but I'd advise you to stick with Jordan. Well, no Jordan's a pest to... " he scrunched his brows trying to think of a decent friend for her but he found no one was capable of that position, of living up to her greatness.
he saw the hurt in her eyes as she spoke of Jordan and felt like he wanted to throw Thomas off a cliff for making her this way. "Maybe Chase can drag her off to the leeches or the wolves?" he joked. But his smiled faded. "No way out for me.. " he sighed and looked to the sky. The stars were amazing through the trees. Chase might be hunting out there right now as far as he knew.
"My father's mind is made up and trying to negotiate with Cecily's Italian family is a fate worth than death. Talking to them about this matter is just a waste of time. The invitations are being picked out and my life is mapped out. i want... I want to just run as far away as i could possibly go. They might never find me." Wow perfect timing. A shooting star. "Did you see that star fly past?" He pointed to the sky hopefully as he made his wish.
"Hope at least your wish comes true. mine won't" he said smugly and pulled up a tiny wild flower next to him, holding it out to Gabrielle with a faint crooked smile.
you're...that makes you the most loving man ever ....her voice was paradise.
Milton blushed. How sweet this Hawkthorne girl could be! He was falling to pieces in front of her in hopes she would be the one to put him back together again. She was a wonderful person, adorable and genuine. He didn't deserve to sit here with her.He swallowed hard. She was into him? But that just made it all the more hopeful! He couldn't hear it, it would only kill him in the end. To not have her.
but this whole time all I've been thinking is how it would feel to kiss you Her hand caressed his cheek and he felt the tingles arise where her fingertips pressed.
Wow, his lips couldn't take it any more. Her touch was inviting him. It had to be! Even if it wasn't, it was worth a try. She could always push him away.... He put his hand gently behind her neck and pulled his face to meet hers, his nose touched hers briefly before he finally pulled his mouth to hers, a small soft peck was all he needed. Like the antidote to his pain.
He pulled back, waiting for her to slap him. He bit his lip and sighed. "you're the antidote to my pain" he said softly."And I can't be without you any longer." Why couldn't things be different. Even though he was engaged, he felt he was free when Gabrielle was near. His heart wasn't true to Cecily, it could never, be but to to Gabrielle? Yes it could....
