Summary:
Raven was raised by her father to be a fighter. After her mother was killed her father never wanted her to go anywhere without the abilty to protect herself. She trained hard in fighting hand to hand and with small throwing knives since the young age of 11, almost a year after her mother died. Though she loved to cause destruction, and pain, she liked the idea of being able to undo most of what she had done. So she picked up the study of herbs, and healing wounds the more natural way. She can win most fights she’s in, being able to focus completely on the fight. So in this way, her fighting became an outlet for all her anger at things.

Summary:
A major weakness of Raven’s is her past, which at any mention of she gets angry, especially if she called by her real name, or is told how much she resembles her mother. Overtime she had grown a deep resentment of all that her mother was, and the life that she lived before she was killed. This also ties into the fact that she is very quick to anger. Not only is she quick to rouse up, she’ll search for fights at time, go on head to head with someone just to see how they’ll retaliate, aiming to get herself in trouble. A bit of her rebellious streak from being a teen that carried through the years. Although Raven puts up a cold façade at first, she is too trust of people, and her heart is stolen too easily. It has gotten her into many heartbroken situations but with time she can overcome them.

Raven likes to keep her attire simple, something that looks nice, but still isn’t trying to look too good. She hates dresses, since in her childhood her father forced her to wear dresses all of the time. The t-shirts she wears are usually black, with random designs on them, or a random band name. Nothing too ambitious. She avoids places and occasions where she usually has to dress up. Her hair is dark black with a slight natural wave to it, and her eyes are a deep blue from her mother. She doesn’t usually wear too much makeup, just some around the eyes to mask the color. Since her eyes are similar to her mother’s she has the desire to hide them.

Summary:
One of her biggest flaws is that if a man shows support for her, offers a shoulder for her to lean on, and protection from something that’s bothering her, she will easily fall for them, despite the fact that it could mean trouble for her later. And though she would love them whole heartedly, her trouble with her past would have her scared to commit to him, fearing that if she were to start to settle, then things would fall apart like they did with her family. She also tends to put up a shield to test people, to see if they are willing to push through it to get to her. But sometimes that shield she throws up around herself is too strong.

History:
Raven was born into a very privileged family, and was just so lucky enough to be the only child. She may have not been the boy that her father had dreamed of having, but she was beautiful in his eyes, and that was all that mattered. Both he and his wife were proud of their first child, intelligent and quick to pick up on things she grew quickly into a toddler. Of course they spoiled her, gave her whatever she needed, while still holding restraint so that she knew that this wouldn’t always come to her in her life. She was named Grace after her mother, as it was tradition in their line to name the first born female Grace. But as she grew older, her hair became longer, and it was a dark, shiny black, just like her fathers. And he fondly teased her by calling her a raven. The name stuck , and they soon made it the child’s official middle name. So while her mother called her Grace, her father would always call her Raven.
But this happy life wasn’t to last when raven’s tenth birthday passed. Barely a month after she turned, there was a terrible accident. A local gas station had been robbed, and her mother had been caught in the mix. With no way to defend herself from the offender, she had been stabbed to death for standing in the way of the man and the cash register. With her death she took Raven’s unborn baby brother who had been almost seven months on the way.
After this, Raven’s world completely turned around. Her father, who had once been a jolly man closed in on himself. He turned to drinking and started to neglect his once prized daughter. She looked too much like her mother, and the pain of seeing her bright eyed with innocence and still alive was too much for him. The only contact he had with her was to send her off to train, so that she would never find herself in the horrible situation that her mother had found herself in.
Too young to realize what was really going on, Raven soon started to blame her mother for this dreadful change in her life. So, for the rest of her childhood, and into her teenage years, she hated her mother, and everything that she had done in the family. She erased all signs from her, took the pictures down in the house, and got rid of the jewelry she had passed onto her. And never again would she allow anyone to use the name Grace with her. She when wholly and completely by the name Raven.
It was in her teenage year that she met Alex, a man who would completely change her life around. Starting high school she bumped into him in a class one day, and instantly his smile took her heart. But it wasn’t just that, it was the way he cared for her, the way that he listened when she talked, the way he held her when she cried. The way that she felt no guilt in being weak around him. He was everything in her life that she could have imagined. And it was her idea to spend the rest of her life with him. Though her grades were slipping , she didn’t much care, and her father sure as hell didn’t bother with them. And though she partied too hard, it didn’t matter, since Alex was there to party right along with her.
But towards the end of her senior year, something happened that rocked her life. Her father, who she stilled cared for, and loved deeply despite the fact that he neglected her, died. Finally the misery he felt did him in and he passed away, drunk in his large chair. Knowing that her one piece of family was gone, Raven lost herself. Luckily Alex was there to catch her, but their relationship would never change.
It was then that she had the fight with him, barely a year after her father died, and she knew that she had to leave, and get away before she ruined herself, and Alex. And though it broke her heart, and his, she left him.
Now she wonders about, living out an apartment that her parents had owned, she searches for a new direction in life, for another person to fill that void, and works towards forgetting Alex. She needed to move on from that chapter in her life, and start new.
