Where Your Abilities Fall
The Character Talents
::STRENGTHS::
1. Optimistic outlook on life
2. Moods fluctuate
3. Short attention span
::SUMMARY::
Believe it or not, Evelyn is yet to learn of the horrors of the world around her. While her strengths may be seen as weaknesses to others, they are the few things that protect her. Evie has an incredibly short attention span, meaning she doesn’t retain a lot of information and even if she does, struggles to remember it. It’s for this reason that she’s oblivious of the existence of anything but humans, which considering her irrational fear of supernatural beings is probably a good thing. Evelyn is oblivious to the way the world around her is, she doesn’t pay attention to the killings, rapes, anything bad really. She somehow manages to find the positive in all situations , if she didn’t Evelyn would fall in a screaming heap as she lacks the emotional capacity to deal with everything happening around her. As for mood fluctuations, if by a rare chance, she gets mad at someone, it doesn’t take her long to switch moods which in turn can stop other people, or things, getting angry at her. It also means she can switch from sad to happy in a split second , all of her strengths work in ways to protect her.
::WEAKNESSES::
1. Physically weak
2. Easily Manipulated
3. Has no back bone
::SUMMARY::
Evelyn has many not sop redeeming features, her main one being her lack of physical strength. If someone wanted to kill her, they could without hesitation, not that this possibility ever crosses her mind though. Evelyn is short anyway and built like a stick. She has no hope of defending herself again anyone, not even humans. In all her naivety , Evelyn cannot tell the difference between someone trying to help her and someone trying to get something out of her. If you can lie convincingly enough, you could make Evelyn believe anything you told her and basically control her emotions. She’s easily manipulated and one day it will get her into trouble. Even if she suspected of someone lying to her, Evelyn doesn’t have the self confidence or back bone to challenge someone She basically always does as she’s told to do with no arguments, which is not always a good thing, for her at least.

Normally something simple, jeans and t-shirts. Evelyn isn’t the kind of person to get dressed up because the fact is she’ll more or likely ruin expensive of dressy clothes, so instead sticks to basics’ although she tries to stick to bright colors, apposed to blacks and greys.
::SUMMARY::
The first thing anyone would notice about Evie is her height. She stands at a tiny 5’1, this being a result of her genetics. Evie’s height only adds to her child like nature, as do her facial features. There are always those people who appear to be younger then that are and this is very much the case with Evelyn. Her eyes a light blue and are incredibly large; they seem to take up a large majority of her face. The one thing that could distract you from her eyes is her teeth. Evelyn had braces when she was younger and so has an almost perfectly straight set of pearly whites which are often on show as she’s often smiling. To top it all, Evie has a mop of almost white blonde hair atop of her head which she more often then not simply wears down. It’s naturally straight and always seems to stay at the same length, just below her shoulders. Body wise, Evelyn is skinny, not by choice she just has a fast metabolism, in hindsight it’s a good thing. Compared to her height though, Evie is a decent weight. When it comes to clothes, she’s honestly not too fussy mainly because fashion doesn’t interest her. Generally she can be seen in jeans and over sized t-shirts, something that’s easy tor un around in.

::SUMMARY::
Evelyn is almost the definition of sweet. She was brought up to respect other people and consider their feelings before her own. Evie will go out of her way to make sure people are okay, that their not lonely and that they have everything they need. She would give a complete stranger the shirt off her back if she thought they needed it. That being the case, Evelyn is fairly emotional and gets easily upset. She tries to be friendly and understanding, but if you yell at her, her bottom lip will tremble and she will burst into tears. Yes she is vulnerable. Sad movies make her cry, hearing that people she loves are upset, makes her sad. Basically she’s like an emotional sponge. She will suck up another person’s emotions and feel what their feeling, empathy is a big part of her personality. Taking advantage of Evelyn is one of the easiest things to do because she likes to try and find the good in everyone and give every person a chance or two or three… or ten.
All her life, Evelyn was sheltered by her parents and look how that turned out. She doesn’t fully comprehend or understand the dangers of the real world. Of course she knows people get killed, raped, countries get bombed, things like that and even after having one of those happen to her, she’s still not clued in. In saying that, she’s not completely clueless. Evelyn has enough sense to know if she walks down a dark alley at night she might get attacked by someone, but she has a child like innocence about her, always questioning things, believing in and trying to see the good in all situations. She is an optimist and thinks every one should be. Normally Evelyn isn’t very stubborn and can be easily persuaded to believe anything if the person telling her is convincing enough, not that it’s hard. Evie trusts people too easily and it’s gotten her in trouble
It is no secret that Evelyn is affectionate. Of course she likes hugs and kisses and all the usual things that come to mind, but she likes being spoken to affectingly. Feeling protected is something she loves. It doesn’t have to be a male, Evie likes being around people, constantly. It’s almost like she craves attention although she won’t make a scene to get it. People often describe her as ‘adorable’ and there have been times where she plays it up and people fawn over her, she likes that. Being wanted and loved are the best feelings in the word. Some people want sex to feel needed, Evie just likes being held. Human contact is something she always seems to want or need. Even if it’s just holding someone’s hand, it makes her feel secure and the world seem like a less scary place.
So basically you could say ‘Boo’ to Evelyn and she would jump and run a mile. She’s not flighty, instead is just more scared of getting hurt, both physically and emotionally. An over active imagination doesn’t help this. The dark scares her because she doesn’t know what is in it. Living by herself scares her as well. Evelyn has no back bone ether. If she is chastised for something, Evie will stand there and take it. She will not argue back or disagree with you. Instead she will beat herself up for disappointing you. In a way Evie is a people pleaser, it’s not like she doesn’t have her own personality, she does and more often then not she’s true to it. But Evelyn likes being praised and complimented and told she’s loved. The best way to achieve this, she’s’ found is to do things for people or give them what they want. She really does try and so when Evie makes a mistake, which is bound to happen seeing as she’s only human , it hits her harder then it would your average person and her natural happy nature falters into something more conservative. There’s nothing Evie really gets angry about so no one is really sure how she would react if she was, it’s more then likely that she’d just cry.

::HISTORY::
Annabel and Michael were told at a young age that they would not be able to have children as Annabel had suffered from a botched abortion in her early teenager years and thus for has one of her ovaries explode. As a result they became foster parents and so there were always children coming and going through their house, which unlike some people may think, was a very loving environment. So when Annabel fell pregnant at the age of thirty six, everyone was shocked. They of course were over joyed to finally be having a child of their own, one they would get to keep. On the 19th of April Evelyn Lily Valencia was born, four weeks premature. She was tiny but it didn’t make her any less loved. The fact she’d been born at all was miracle. Evie was born into a strictly Christian home. There was no swearing, not smoking, no drinking and church was to be attended every Sunday. Not that she minded. Her parents doted over her although they made sure not to spoil her as they had seen enough spoiled brats in their time.
During her early years, Evie was a bright enthusiastic child who listened to her parents and did as she was asked. They taught her manners and kindness. As they considered her a miracle, she was never alone. One or both parents were always with her. This lead to a bad case of separation anxiety later on in life. When Evelyn started school, she was shy and sat at the back of the class, watching with wide blue eyes as the other kids ran around and played with each other. At this stage she was shy. That was until a new girl came one day and forgot her lunch. Evie offered her half a sandwich and from there, she had her best friend. A fiery little red head called Becca. Her parent’s didn’t really approve of Becca who was rowdy and disruptive. When Evie turned ten, her parents started taking in foster children again and from there her love of little children formed. It was like having siblings, some younger, some older, although she was always sad when they had to leave because more often then not she never heard from them again. The house hold was friendly and full of laughter.
It was when Evie started middle school the problems began. As you could probably guess, she was a fairly innocent child. She didn’t like ‘sinning’. For the first few weeks this was fine until other kids started to figure out if you pushed the short blonde girl around, she didn’t fight back. After that, Evie was tormented everyday. Kids would call her names, shove her into lockers .It was bearable when she had Becca. But the girls she’d considered her best friends decided Evelyn wasn’t as ‘cool’ anymore and eventually turned into one of the girls doing the tormenting. The feeling of betrayal was almost too much for the poor little blonde to take and she went home, every night crying. Eventually her parents intervened calling the school that in all honesty did not care about what had happened and as a result, Evie moved schools.
After that, things were fine. She was excelling in school which did not go un-noticed by one of her professors. He was the teacher that most people got an uncomfortable feeling from and so stayed away from him, however Evelyn not being able to judge character very well simply treated him like she treated everyone else. It was a big mistake on her part. One night after classes had finished and Evelyn was walking to the car park to get picked up after a school play, this particular teacher asked her to help him with something. He didn’t want help. He beat and raped Evie, even though she was screaming the whole time. After that she became introverted and wouldn’t talk for a long time. Her parents had her admitted into a psychiatric ward to see if anyone could help her. Eventually when she started talking again, it became evident that Evelyn wasn’t reacting and acting as someone of her age group would. The only way they could describe it was a post traumatic stress disorder, Evelyn had reverted back to the mind set of a child.
Not that anyone actually picked up on this fact, they all thought she’d just become clingier and more humble because of what had happened to her and so her parents thought it would be a good idea for her to move away from them and gain some independence . Which is possibly the worse thing they could have done as now she’s even more vulnerable and scared of the big wide world she’d been thrown into.

::RP EXAMPLE::
Possibly one of the weirdest pictures you could ever imagine. A petite blonde walking down the street, struggling to carry a cardboard box that was moving from side to side, only adding to the difficulty. Evie blew the hair from her face in frustration. “If you don’t be still I’m going to drop you!”. It had been hard enough to get the box out of the house without anyone noticing or asking too many questions. Carrying it was a completely different hurdle. Evie grunted, glancing down the street. She wasn’t to far away now. Adrian had said she could bring them over to his place so that she didn’t get in trouble for keeping them and that way she could always check on them. It was starting to sound like a bad plan now, mainly because they refused to co-operate or stay inside their designated box. Eventually, Evie came to his building complex, a place she knew fairly well. When the blonde wasn’t at school or work she could often be found here, sure there weren’t as many people as there was at home but hell it was Adrian and he kept her more entertained then a room full of people ever could. Re-adjusting the box in her arms, Evie jogged up the stairs until she came to his floor, breathing heavily.
Placing the box on the floor, she made sure to keep a foot on the lid gently they didn’t try to escape. She fumbled for a moment, trying to find the key she’d been given a long time ago to his apartment. Not that she liked using it all that much, especially if Adrian wasn’t here. Even with all the time she spent here, it felt odd without him, like she was invading his space. Pulling the key from her pocket eventually, Evie stuck it in the door twisted it before bending down and grabbing the box again, her short arms managing to wrap around it. The walk from the kitchen to the front door wasn’t too far and so the box was quickly placed on the bench. Letting out a sigh of content the blonde wiped her hands on her shorts, opening the lid. ‘See that wasn’t so bad” she was of course speaking to the chickens who were madly running around in the box. Dropping the key on the bench, Evie turned and glanced around the apartment. “Adrian?” she called out the word but got no reply. Obviously he wasn’t hope yet. That was okay, it gave her time to make him a surprise.
First she was going to need someone’s help. Evie skipped over to where she knew Adrian kept his bunny, Mooshee and lent down, smiling at the little animal. “Wanna help me cook?” she asked, unhinging the lid of his cage before picking him up, stroking his ears softly. Evie carried him into the kitchen before setting him on the bench , she was going to have to watch he didn’t try to hop off the bench. Placing the box of chicks on the floor, she lent over and washed her hands quickly in the sink. Evie grabbed the ingredients she needed and a bowl from one of the lower cupboards. It was a little sad that she’d been around that many times that she knew where everything was. Opening a bag of flour, Evie stuck her finger in it and dabbed it on her nose. Turning to the rabbit she bent down to his level, grinning as his nose twitched. “Do you want some, Mooshee?” Evie dabbed a tiny amount of flour into his fur, just above his nose. “Now you’re a real chef like me”.
The blonde stood on the tips of her toes, grabbing a measuring cup off one of the shelves before tipping the flour into it; a large portion missed and flew onto the floor. She looked down at it sheepishly and bit her lower lip. She was going to have to clean that up, didn’t matter much though. Evie could already tell, today was going to be fun.
