Night Time Walk (Seras)

As usual, Hiro hadn't slept even a minute, despite how tired he was. He was still too afraid of the nightmares and too concerned with Era's well being. It made him feel better anyhow if she at least could sleep peacefully. But when the little lady woke up with a frown on her cute face and commented on how noisy it was, Hiro laughed a little and sighed. "You're right, bbydoll. And I'm sorry." Running a hand through her soft hair, he had a funny smirk on his face. "You know, we could always make some noise ourselves." Kissing her on the cheek, he added. "Though your adorable little screams drown me out in an instant."

Hiro just held onto his Era, pulling the warm blanket over the bit of her back that the nightgown left exposed. He took deep breaths and noted the pain wasn't as great as it always had been. Perhaps he had simply just gotten used to it? There was light pouring into the room from outside, but he had been exposed to so much recently it didn't even quite bother him. "Are you hungry at all, darling? I can go fetch you a bite to eat if you like?" Before she could protest, he added. "You ought to eat right, after all. Breakfast is important, yes?"

Giving a small laugh Era open her eyes and kissed his lips gently "Yes breakfast is important but I'm sure it can wait" she said with a soft laugh, before she could say anything else the phone rang making her cringe slightly. Sitting up Era had to lean over Hiro and stay pressed against him to stop the phone from crashing to the floor, finding out it was just her work she rejected the shift and hung up. When she put the phone down Era almost feel off the bed, making a small frightened noise she grabbed hold of the edge of the bed. Making sure she wasn't going to fall off she moved and stayed sitting up, streaching she gave Hiro a smile "I feel like cooking" she laughed. Pushing the blankets off of her and Hiro Era gave a soft yawn as she moved and sat on the end of the bed, thinking about if she really wanted to leave her warm bed.

"Hey there little-miss-clumsy, I don't know that you'd ought to leave the bed just yet." Hiro laughed as he jokingly put his hands on her hips and pulled her back into bed with him. "C'mon, bbydoll. You slept like an angel. I'd think I know well enough to know you don't really wanna leave the covers so soon. Hiro was rather bright and had a pretty smile across his lips as he kept his lover in bed for the time being. They both knew neither of them honestly ever felt like getting up in the morning. "Shall I cook something for you? It's not any trouble at all." He rubbed at his eyes and squinted a little before closing them. They weren't still fully healed yet and earlier he had just gotten used to the darkness when the morning sun shot through the room like fire. To a vampire, looking directly into the sun would spell instant blindness, but being outdoors or even looking at daylight wasn't entirely helpful either. It had been quite some time since his eyes had been the lovely amber hue that Era enjoyed looking at so much. At this rate, he half expected them to stay red for quite some time.

When Hiro pulled her back Era gave a laugh and leaned against him gently, looking at him with a light frown when he started talking. Hooking her arms around his neck when he finnished speaking and kissed him gently, "You don't have to be sorry about it Hiro....I'm glad you came" she said gently and kissed him again. Bitting her bottom lip in thought she shook her head with a smile "Hmm I'll cook myself" she said and crinkled her nose slightly.

Taking her arms from around his neck she ran a hand through her hair before she streached again, before leaning agaist Hiro gently with a smile "But I think I'm going to stay here for a little bit...I don't think I can trust myself to not fall asleep in the kitchen" Era said with a soft laugh as she looked at Hiro and kissed his cheek with a smile. "You need to rest Hiro" she said gently, watching him with a small smile Era was happy there was no loud music, maybe the person who played the music was scared that Hiro might come back.

Hiro hated to see even the slightest frown come across Era's lips, kissing her passionately to make her smile once more. He himself had been wearing the brightest smile that morning. Nothing else made any difference to him. The morning light burned but he neglected to notice anymore. Even the people outside had seemed to quiet down. Putting his arms around her, Hiro coughed softly and just laid there resting for a bit. He could taste blood in his mouth again, but it still didn't make him frown in front of Era again. The vampire laughed a little when he could hear her tummy growl a bit at the previous mention of food. "I'm sorry, I ruined a perfect dinner for you dear. I'll make it up to you I promise." Thinking to himself for a moment, he smiled. "Let's go out for lunch shall we? I'd like to talk to the manager anyhow. Oh, you remember that restaurant we went to before, yes?" Hiro had been meaning the rather exclusive restaurant she had gotten her delectable pasta at last time. The very one that respected their love so very much. "Bbydoll... I've been meaning to ask you though... is there any way you might leave your job? I promise I'll get you another one. You'd really enjoy being a server there, I just know it." He had a nervous look on his face as Hiro bit his lower lip. He hated to ask anything of her, much less for her to quit her job. But it made him worry about her always, a bit jealous, and to a certain extent he didn't want his Era to have to be a mother that would be working at a night club. Hiro always thought of Era as far more proper. "Nevermind, I apologize. That was quite rude of me to ask. As long as your happy..." Hiro smiled.

Feeling terrible, Hiro decided not to mention it again. He shook his head lightly when she had told him he needed rest, but his body didn't disagree. His eyes began to drift close, but the most horrid of images entered his mind each time they would shroud him in darkness. Images of Era's brutal death, at his hands no less. Immediately Hiro became very awake and refused to sleep. It was something, for a grown man to be truly afraid of the horrible dreams that haunted him in his sleep. They were the most vivid and destructive of thoughts. A soft, sad sigh escaped his lips as Hiro put his arms around Era and held her close to him. "Please... don't go anywhere... just yet... I miss you heaps already..." He whispered, the truth of his fears becoming evident. Hiro was so used to everyone important in his life to abandon him, he honestly believed it would only be a matter of time until she did the same, though he couldn't blame her in the least and hated to think of it.

Era kissed him gently with a small smile "I'll quit my job...and you don't have to find me another one Hiro" she said gently, as she hooked her arms around his neck and leaned against him gently. "I wont go anywhere Hiro" Era said softly as her stomach growled softly, she wanted some food and at one point or another she would have to more out of Hiro's embrace to get to the kitchen to get herself some food. "Hmm I think I need some breakfast before we think about lunch" she said with a soft laugh and kissed him again.

"I apologize darling. I don't want you to go and do anything you wouldn't want to do." Hiro told her honestly, again never caring about himself. It was evident to her that he mildly disliked his job, for whatever reason, and if he had to guess Hiro knew she didn't like all the women there hitting on him and giving him seductive looks. But the vampire also recalled seeing a smile across her lips during her shift, not all of which was entirely a show for everyone. She couldn't ever full him. Some small part of her must have enjoyed her work and he didn't want her to give anything like that up for him or for anyone.

"Let me take you there?" Hiro asked, his question not rly in need of answering. It wasn't necessarily even a question because he got up out of the bed with Era cradled gently in his arms. "Please don't go anywhere... alone...? I need you..." A whisper escaped his lips, but it was the utmost truth. Hiro had never felt a more intense feeling of longing than now, even though he finally had her in his arms. For whatever reason, the closer he grew towards her, the more fearful he became of losing the one true love of his life. She literally was everything to him, leaving him to only wish he could somehow amount to even close to the same for her.

Hiro slowly carried era into the kitchen, his severe fatigue once again catching up to him. Closing his eyes for just a brief moment, the death he saw made him open them that much quicker but to his disarray, the vivid notion of his Era dying didn't fade for a few seconds until he blinked it away. Shaking his head in a slight confusion and pain, Hiro sat Era on the counter and kissed her passionately before finally just standing there and holding her in an all too loving embrace. No words came to him right then, as a tear fell down his cheek.

Era gave a soft laugh as Hiro picked her up in his arms, like he never wanted to let her out of his sight. As if at any given moment she might vannish from his arms, keeping her arms wrapped around his neck she kissed his cheek gently before he sat her down on the counter, she didn't complain. Gently taking her arms from around his neck she placed her hands on his chest her fingers touching the new scars he had inflicted on himself "You shouldn't punish yourself Hiro" Era said gently as she looked him in the eye "Maybe I should buy you a punching bag" she said thoughtfully.

Hiro never wanted to stop feeling Era's warmth. The love he held so dear with her in his arms made his heart melt and a smile come across his lips.
