NICOLA CRYSTAL FARR → MY VOICE IS AS LONELY AS LOUD AS I WHISPER A JOY OF THIS PAINOH GOD I FEEL LIKE I’M IN FOR IT NOW ITS LIKE THE RUSH HAS GONE STRAIGHT TO MY BRAIN ← “You’re free to go, Ms. Farr,” the medical assistant said as she finished filling out some paperwork at the front desk. Nicola forced a smile and signed off on the papers and looked around the hospital lobby for a second, trying to see if her parents had shown up. It didn’t look like it. Nicola didn’t mind, though. She was a big girl and could handle herself, and her parents were probably busy with work. They were used to her going to the hospital, anyway. The hospital staff had contacted at least one of them when she brought in, so she would be questioned at home, but that was normal. Handing over the clipboard, Nicola thanked the nurse—with a fake smile—and then picked up her jacket where she had left it and pulled it on. She knew she needed it even if she didn’t feel like she needed it. It was a cold night out, and if she came home not wearing a jacket, then she was going to get an earful. Nicola hated being lectured.
The outside air hit her skin, but she didn’t feel it. Just a light caress on her cheeks and neck, like someone was tickling her skin. But she didn’t feel the biting cold that nipped at her bare skin. Shoving her hands in her pockets to keep them warm—even though she couldn’t feel whether or not they warm, it was what she was supposed to do—she started to walk. She didn’t have a car because her parents both needed one and she couldn’t pay for one with her Starbuck’s salary—and she had been all but fired when that Matthew vampire had kidnapped her and she’d disappeared for several weeks—so she was stuck walking. It made her parents nervous, but she liked it. It gave her a reason to be outside, and she wouldn’t even be allowed out if her parents were home all the time. They wouldn’t even let her live on her own. She was surprised that they had so readily given her over to Matthew. Perhaps it was just his vampire charm. Sighing, Nicola lifted her arm to look at the wrap that had been administered to her wrist. She had almost broken it, apparently. No fractures, but she’d been close. It didn’t even hurt. Nothing ever hurt. She pulled the wrap off and stuck it in her pocket.
Nicola looked up from her jacket as she made sure that the wrap was completely inside her pocket and not poking out so that her parents wouldn’t ever see it—if they did, they wouldn’t let her ever play basketball with her friends again. It had been one of them that had called the ambulance when he’d sworn that he’d heard her wrist crack when she’d blocked a ball. Why couldn’t anyone understand that just because she didn’t feel pain didn’t mean she was made of glass? A block into her walk, she still had fifteen more blocks to go. The thin jacket she was wearing kept her parents happy, but it was light compared to what everyone else was wearing. The girl looked cold—her nose and cheeks were rosy and you could see her breath with each exhale—but she didn’t act like she was cold. She wasn’t hunched up in a ball as she walked, she wasn’t shivering. It was the wonders of CIPA taking place. A horn blared as the car drove past, and some guy hung out the window, wolf-whistling to her. Nicola looked up and watched the car drive past, and she took a wrong step and rolled her ankle on the heel she was wearing. It should have hurt her, but she didn’t even wince. She nearly fell over, but she caught herself on a sign and went back to walking. However, she looked around, brow furrowed. She felt like someone was following her.

The dark blanket of night settled over the city, and the last of the Dragon Emperors of the Bright Kingdom descended to the streets. Elric, the white wolf, was clad in unusual attire for him. Black leggings and shirt, black leather jerkin over it, with a crimson cloak about his shoulders. His brow bore a golden circlet to keep his bone white hair back, and on his hand rode the Actorious stone.
He was walking alone, leather boots making almost no noise, moody crimson eyes taking everything in. He didn't carry Stormbringer this night, for he felt it unneeded. He wandered for awhile, behind a human who seemed most irregular. She seemed barely clothed by comparison, and quite clumsy.
A small smile creeps along his porcelain skin, for indeed his was not only a vampire but an albino at that, and he moves closer. "You must be quite freezing given your outfit, but you do not show it." he starts, "If you care, I can offer you a ride. It'll be much warmer and more comfortable for you." he says, crimson eyes unmoving or blinking.

NICOLA CRYSTAL FARR → MY VOICE IS AS LONELY AS LOUD AS I WHISPER A JOY OF THIS PAINOH GOD I FEEL LIKE I’M IN FOR IT NOW ITS LIKE THE RUSH HAS GONE STRAIGHT TO MY BRAIN ← Nicola very nearly jumped out of her skin when the man spoke. She had felt like there was someone following her, but she hadn’t thought to look behind her. “You must be quite freezing given your outfit, but you do not show it,” the man had said. Nicola whirled around and stopped walking, her chocolate gaze swept over his form and she took a step back, brow furrowed suspiciously. His attire, the way he looked. . . he did not look like a very safe person to be around. Nicola shifted her weight, wondering how fast this guy was and whether or not people would help if she screamed. “I’m not cold. Everyone else out here are just wusses,” she retorted smartly, not really wanting to insult the man. She was merely being sarcastic. “If you care, I can offer you a ride. It'll be much warmer and more comfortable for you,” he offered. A shudder went up the girl’s spine, but it easily could have been mistaken for a response to the cold she couldn’t feel. There was something incredibly unsettling about this man, and if he thought she was going to go anywhere with him, he was dead wrong. “I’m fine walking. It’s just a couple more blocks. Thanks, though,” she muttered, turning to walk away, muttering "creeper" under her breath.

He chuckles as she turns to leave, smiling to himself. "If you but wait a moment, I have a proposition for you, one that pays quite well." he says. She didn't look the type to bring in much money, or be happy with a mediocre life, having to constantly set her own dreams aside for the sake of reality. "And I'm no creeper, as you so rudely suggest, merely an up and coming...business man, looking for people wanting to make a lot of money, with little effort."
He turns his head slightly to the side, a sleek and shiny black vehicle rounded the corner, stopping beside him. The windows were tinted black, and the back was extended a bit for the custom modifications that had been made. He opens the door, standing beside it as he turned his gaze upon her. "Join me? I can offer you a hot meal at any place of your choosing as well, all you need do is listen." he says mesmerizingly, turning on a little of the old vampiric charm.
The back of the vehicle was kept seperate from the front by a solid partition with a small sliding window for communication. It resembled a limo to an extent, with the seats on both sides, and a cooler/table combo centered between them. "Well? There is much I can offer you, if it is not your own benefit you seek. And again, I offer you a hot meal at any place you desire, merely for the chance to outline my proposal to you, and see if you are interested." he states with a small smile, waiting for her answer.

NICOLA CRYSTAL FARR → MY VOICE IS AS LONELY AS LOUD AS I WHISPER A JOY OF THIS PAINOH GOD I FEEL LIKE I’M IN FOR IT NOW ITS LIKE THE RUSH HAS GONE STRAIGHT TO MY BRAIN ← Stopping in her tracks, Nicola turned toward him again as he offered her—well, he was offering her a chance to make some money but wasn’t telling her what she had to do. Naturally that was the catch. . . she had to spend some time with him first. But the temptation of making some money was a little too enticing, especially with how high her hospital bills were. If she was going to die in three years—which was highly likely, as most CIPA patients never made it past the age of twenty-one—she would want to do something nice for her parents. . . like repaying them for all of those hospital bills that they had to pay for. . . insurance for a CIPA patient was a bitch, so most of their money had come out of pocket. How could Nicola die peacefully knowing that her parents would probably be in debt for the rest of their lives, after she’s been long gone? It didn’t seem right. “Well? There is much I can offer you, if it is not your own benefit you seek. And again, I offer you a hot meal at any place you desire, merely for the chance to outline my proposal to you, and see if you are interested,” he asked again, motioning for the car that had shown up. It looked like a limo. . . only it wasn’t. Nicola looked from the car to the man and back again, then rolled her eyes slightly—at herself—and gave a curt nod. What was the worst that could happen? Getting kidnapped? Been there and done that. “Alright. . . I’ll listen to what you have to say,” she agreed, crawling into the car once given the signal to.

(Sorry, been busy with my discharge here.)
He smiles as he steps into the vehicle behind her, sitting across from her and opening the mini bar, pouring himself a glass of blood, "Would you care for something to drink my dear?" he questions her, indicating the myriad of liquids contained within. He had wine, champagne, blood and a few sodas, preffering the ability to cater to all types of people.
He reclines back, sipping from his drink, the blood of an ancient his patron had so graciously provided him, musing over his words. "I have a few things that I can employ you for, depending on what you wish to do and feel comfortable with. All are quite lucrative to you, and involve a minimal risk." to a vampire at least.
"I need a courier to deliver a package to a human living downtown. Expenses covered of course with a healthy bonus for any danger incurred." he states. The package would be an ancient and valuable manuscript on vampiric history and a thorough doctoral thesis and medical examination of the species, prized by many.
"I also need a...guest, for a banquet being held in a few days, and guard leading up to it. While staying here, I'll need someone to look after me during the day, and attend the party with me. Clothing up to standard shall be provided and yours to keep, and it will bring you a modest income, increased by any danger you might handle." he explains, taking a drink.
"And lastly, I need someone to procure some herbs for me. Money shall be given to cover their cost, and you shall be compensated as well. Do any of these interest you? I described them from highest to lowest pay grade. Five million for the first, three for the second, and only one for the third." he finishes, awaiting her answer now.

NICOLA CRYSTAL FARR → MY VOICE IS AS LONELY AS LOUD AS I WHISPER A JOY OF THIS PAINOH GOD I FEEL LIKE I’M IN FOR IT NOW ITS LIKE THE RUSH HAS GONE STRAIGHT TO MY BRAIN ← Nicola eyed the man suspiciously as he climbed in after her. He didn’t say much as the car idled there for a moment and he poured himself a beverage. There was something strange about what he was giving himself. . . it didn’t quite move like a liquid should. She huffed slightly and eyed it for a moment. In and out of a hospital, always having your blood drawn and doing things that made yourself bleed. . . she knew blood when she saw it, but she remained quiet, becoming more and more suspicious as she sat there, looking at the strangely pale man with the offsetting appearance. Nicola had spent almost two months with a vampire before. She would be an idiot not to know another one when she saw one. The last time she had met a vampire she had been kidnapped for knowing what he was. She wasn’t about to announce that she suspected him of being one of those leeches—this one might just off her right away.
He offered her a drink. Nicola kept her eyes on him for a moment more before looking at her choices. She was underage and had no desire to really drink, so she just pulled out one of the sodas and popped that open, sipping at it idly. She hadn’t had anything to drink while she was at the hospital, getting her wrist wrapped—which it no longer was—so she was pretty thirsty. “I have a few things that I can employ you for, depending on what you wish to do and feel comfortable with. All are quite lucrative to you, and involve a minimal risk,” he started. Nicola nodded her head to indicate that she was listening, but she figured that she probably looked as skeptical as she felt. Nonetheless, she listened to the description of the jobs, and she couldn’t help but sit there and wonder why he had picked her. Did this guy just go around asking people to do shit for him? He hadn’t even given his name yet, and that was a gesture Nicola was returning whole-heartedly. This guy wasn’t getting a name until she got one.
“Do any of these interest you? I described them from highest to lowest pay grade. Five million for the first, three for the second, and only one for the third.” His words settled, and Nicola nearly choked on her soda as she swallowed wrong. Had she heard him right? The dark-haired youth stared at the man, flabbergasted. He was going to pay her in the millions? She had expected a couple thousand! Nicola held on to her drink tightly and just tried to gather her thoughts for a little bit. Even the job that would get her one million would pay for all their debt from the hospitals and school! But now she had to think of what to tell him. She didn’t want to sound greedy, but it wasn’t like she was going to use any of this money. She could die in the next year from infection she didn’t know she had. “I—you want—for that much? But—I don’t know if I’m qualified—are you serious?” she babbled, unable to think of anything else to say to this man. Five million dollars! Maybe she should take the job that paid three million. She wouldn’t have to remember anything like she would the others. . . and her memory was incredibly unreliable.

He chuckles lightly, in a better mood than usual tonight. "You are qualified. You will be less...disturbed, than others would for these jobs. You understand, for you know what I am. You gave yourself away. You recognized my drink, and the pallor of my skin. Yes dear, I am a vampire. I care not who knows it." he states, finishing his glass.
"I am the last of the Dragon Emperors of the Bright Kingdom. I am Elric, the White Wolf, Kin Slayer and many other titles besides." he says passively as the streets roll by. "I'll kill any who think themselves my better, who challenge me, or have something I want. I care not for your human morality." he finishes, glowering eyes returning to her once more.
"Now, are you interested in any of these jobs? I asked because you have the faintest smell of one of our species on you, and you will be able to withstand any stress incurred I'm sure. And though I'm sure the pay is quite high, it is only extra incentive for you. I have far more than I need to live comfortably, and I know how highly humans value it and being able to fulfill their dreams." he finishes in a shrug, setting his glass down. He folds his hands in his lap, watching and waiting once more.

NICOLA CRYSTAL FARR → MY VOICE IS AS LONELY AS LOUD AS I WHISPER A JOY OF THIS PAINOH GOD I FEEL LIKE I’M IN FOR IT NOW ITS LIKE THE RUSH HAS GONE STRAIGHT TO MY BRAIN ← How did he know this stuff about her? Was she just that transparent, or could he read her mind? Nicola didn’t know how good she was at hiding her emotions. . . he liked to think she was, but she couldn’t be sure. “Yeah. . . I was kidnapped by some jerk named Matthew because I ‘found out’ he was a vampire, but he’d freaking told me,” she muttered angrily, not sure why she was being so open with this guy. It was probably just because she really hated that vampire and just liked to tell people what an idiot and asshole he is. But now that she knew that this guy—Elric was his name, apparently—knew that she knew he was a vampire she felt quite a little bit uncomfortable, but it seemed that he was telling the truth when he said he didn’t care who knew, so she tried to relax.
Taking another drink from her soda to calm her nerves, Nicola looked up at the man and then away again, trying to think this over logically for a moment before she decided. It was a lot of money, and her family really could use it. . . maybe it would even get Nicola the best help for her condition. . . . She shook her head. “Um, well. . . none of them sound that difficult. . . . But if I have to chose one, I guess I wouldn’t mind going to a party. . . . Not sure I could remember all the things for the deliveries. . . . But I don’t really know how much use I could be for that. . . . I mean unless all I have to do is stand there and look pretty because damn do I do that well,” she said sarcastically, making light of the situation. It just made herself feel better—more comfortable.

He chuckles again, "Something to that effect." he responds. "The banquet and ball shall be held two nights hence, so tonight or tomorrow we shall be outfitting you to look the part. All you really need to do is be alert. I need a dagger in the back as much as I do to sunbath." he says, rolling his eyes.
"I normally wouldn't take a human, but it was short notice, I only just found out myself. With any luck, it shan't be a blood bath. It'll be a mostly vampiric event, so be on guard, and if anyone brings you trouble, you bring them to me." he states simply.
"You'll be paid half now, and half after the night is over, when we outfit you is your choice." he finishes, drawing forth a flask from within his tunic and draining it. He hated that he needed potions to keep him strong, but being an albino didn't leave him much choice. "Do you have any questions?"

NICOLA CRYSTAL FARR → MY VOICE IS AS LONELY AS LOUD AS I WHISPER A JOY OF THIS PAINOH GOD I FEEL LIKE I’M IN FOR IT NOW ITS LIKE THE RUSH HAS GONE STRAIGHT TO MY BRAIN ← All of this was rather unsettling. She only had like two days to get ready for this? And now that she had accepted this job, what the hell was she going to tell her parents when she brought home three million dollars? That she’d been picked up of the street by some creepy dude who paid her for going to a party with him? Would she have to get the money checked out, or was it coming in a check? Cash? Randomly wired to their bank account? Would they be investigated for suddenly coming in to all of this money? Nicola hadn’t the slightest idea what she was going to tell her parents or what she was going to do with herself. At least now she’d have a reason to wear some nice clothes for once. . . . But that was beside the point. She stared at the empty seat next to Elric and sipped at her soda idly as thoughts paraded around her head, until the vampire she was in the car with spoke again, asking her if she had any question. Boy did she!
Taking a second to locate a cup holder, Nicola settled her can of soda inside and leaned back in her seat, crossing one knee over the other and folding her arms over her stomach. For a few seconds longer she gathered her nerves, then looked up at the pale being in front of her. “How do I know this isn’t some sort of scam? Or that this money you speak of is real and not just some bad prints you made in your basement? You vampires haven’t exactly left a positive impression in my mind,” she began, letting this guy know straight out where she was coming from so she wouldn’t have to beat around the bush. She sighed slightly, then glanced out the window to see where they were before she spoke again. “And why did you chose me? Was it just pick-random-girls-off-the-street night or something? Do I know you maybe? Or is it just because I’ve been around you people before? I mean. . . . Really there’s nothing that special about me.” Of course, that was a straight-out lie. But Nicola didn’t particularly enjoy broadcasting her inability to feel pain.

He smiles a wolfish grin at hre, eyes flaring for the briefest of moments with an unknown emotion. "To prove they are real, I shall withdraw them from the bank with you in my company. You can examine each one yourself to determine if they are real, and I can pay you in any way you wish. Gold, jewels, art, money. Anything. I am the last Emperor of an unrivaled kingdom of power and fortune laid low by my own hand, I have no need for money. If, however, you feel it is false, then I shall pay someother person three million to attend a grand gathering, the likes of which haven't been seen in centuries." he retorts. He cared not whether she accepted it, he offered for her own sake.
"As for why I chose you? Because of your situation and condition. I'd wager elements aren't the only thing you can't feel. And that would imply you're hospitalized a lot, accruing debt, and you obviously have no vehicle lending validity to my conclusions. That, and you've dealt with my kind before, and I feel in a generous mood. I have no shortage of slaves I could order to go, but you need the money." he didn't bother to share that it would be what Cymoril, his deceased betrothed, would want him to do as well.
"Now, will you accept the job or no? If not, we shall leave you to your meager existence and never return." he states, patience starting to wear thin by the constant changing of her mind. The car rolls to a stop along a city street, driver awaiting further orders from his master as to their destination. They'd take her home, or to be outfitted for the gathering, all dependent on her desire.

NICOLA CRYSTAL FARR → MY VOICE IS AS LONELY AS LOUD AS I WHISPER A JOY OF THIS PAINOH GOD I FEEL LIKE I’M IN FOR IT NOW ITS LIKE THE RUSH HAS GONE STRAIGHT TO MY BRAIN ← Lips pursed and brow furrowed, Nicola decided that she didn’t like this man’s tone anymore. He sounded as impatient as he probably felt—the young girl could only imagine—and she felt rather insulted at the moment. Shouldn’t vampires be patient? They lived forever for the love of god! It was only her time she was wasting, not his. The frustration of being treated like he was treating her made her face flush and she looked away from him, glaring out into space. She didn’t know how this man had figured out all of this about her just by following her around for a few minutes, but she assumed vampires—especially the old ones, and for some unknown reason (probably women’s intuition) Nicola got the distinct feeling that this vampire was quite old; his mannerisms, the way he dressed, how he held himself, his accent, the way he spoke. . . .—saw a lot and learned how to read people quickly. After she had calmed herself down a little bit, she looked back at him and crossed her arms over her chest, looking quite indignant. “I’ll freaking go. God, can’t a woman ask some questions without someone jumping down her throat?” she remarked with a defiant glare.

He chuckles again, shaking his head. "My apologies, it us quite rude of me, I admit. I have finite time to set this up, so all the time I have, the better." he says, giving her a reason for his impatience, and further convicted of his decision. Who better than someone willing to get snippy with something so much more powerful than they?
"Now, do you have any more questions? They need not be related to the job of course, I'll answer what I can for you." he says, more than willing for conversation. He rarely held them, spending most his time in brooding silence, but he had taken a liking to this female, and was willing to make an exception.
