( PAIN OF MINE I RUN BUT IT STAYS RIGHT BY MY SIDE )beware there's things inside without a care The light crackling from the cubes of ice shifting in his glass of jack, and coke; was almost deafening to Ryn's acute hearing. He his gaze shifted to the glass for a moment before he took a sip. He had put himself back in the game. His phone lite up revealing a new message from an unknown sender. 'Good to see your back Rain. It's always a shame when a major player loses their edge. The word isn't really out that your in again yet, but expect some contracts in the next few days, as the news gets around' Ryn read the message then promptly deleted it. Conversations with his outfitter were always one way. He had never met him or her, he just picked up his gear and his payments at predetermined locations. Not that he couldn't find the person. He had the scent for years, but what was the point.
Ryn finished his drink, and waved the bartender over. The man nodded and took the glass mixing another drink for Ryn who nodded appreciatively. He took a deep sip, and let his eyes shift around the bar. There was no one else here, but him and the bartender. That was normal though after all It was still pretty early, barely eighth o'clock. Ryn had finally gotten over his pain of losing the people he was close to. He decided that it was inevitable especially if they were human. They naturally would expire before he did no matter what. So if he was fated to lose them regardless why did it matter when it happened. It wasn't human logic of course. It was that of his wolf. The two consciousnesses that resided in his skull had now completely merged. Much like they had been in the beginning.
Ryn finished his drink and waved the bartender over once again. "Don't you think you've had enough young man?" The bartender asked Ryn. Ryn didn't notice until that moment that he had already knocked back six of the things. His body made it very very hard to get drunk or even buzzed, and when he did get to that point it was very brief as his body rapidly repaired itself. However Ryn didn't wan't to seem suspicious so he nodded. "Yea....I guess your right.....Lemme get a coke then" He stated as he took out a hundred dollar bill and set it on the counter. "Keep the change okay? For your excellent service"The barkeep chuckled heartily at the idea, and slapped Ryn on the shoulder as he traded him the coke for the money. Ryn sipped the coke slowly, and gazed at the clock wondering if this night would pick up at all.

"I need a drink. A nice big tall drink. Maybe something expensive. Yeah expensive sounds good."
A female mumbled around a cigarette that hung loosely from her lips as she walked casually down the sidewalk. The brown and blond strands of hair blew rapidly behind her as the wind whipped down the street. Everyone was bundled up in their heavy winter jackets, but this female? She had on a concert t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans. Cold just didn't bother her anymore. Taking a long drag on the cigarette the female pulled the door open to The Privilege and let the soft sounds of music and chatter wash over her. yeah the place was fancy but she needed to get away from The Hard Rock for a while. Some place new would be good.
"This is so what I needed."
A smile spread across her face as she sauntered into the club. From behind the bar the bartender gave her a casual nod and her grin grew full blown.
"I'll take a rum and coke. Heavy on the rum."
The female collapsed onto a bar stool and took another long drag from her cigarette. The bartender nodded again as she spun around to stare out over the club. Many of the patrons and snobs were watching her carefully. Probably because of what she was wearing. A dry chuckle escaped her. Just having gotten back from a job, it wasn't like she was going to go home and change. Not surprising that they were starring, though it did get annoying. She finished her cigarette and turned back to face the bar. The tall glass of rum and coke was sitting before her and a grateful smile crossed her.
Taking a large sip, she it up another cigarette and then scanned the bar. Just as she had relaxed, a familiar smell filled her nose and the hairs on her neck stood on end. The glass in her hands almost slipped and fell to the floor but with sharp movements she set it on the bar. Slowly the female turned as her eyes rested on a familiar figure. His smell. Why hadn't she noticed his smell?! Fear coursed through quickly replaced by anger.
"Oh fuck no."
The female mumbled as she tried to control her rage. The strain was clear within her voice, but she didn't want to start a scene. Despite the urge to pull him to the nearest room and rip him a new one, the female kept herself in check. A loud cracking noise filled the bar as she pulled a chunk off the bar. She hadn't even realized that she had been gripping it so tight.
"I'll pay for that. I promise. Um excuse me."
The female grabbed her drink and moved away from the bar and went into one of the back rooms. Other people were back there but they ignored her. They were too busy talking about how much their hair cuts cost. But this female didn't care about them. It was the man. The man at the bar who seemed to set her on edge. She hated him but yet she wanted to thank him. He was the man that gave her, a new life.

( PAIN OF MINE I RUN BUT IT STAYS RIGHT BY MY SIDE )beware there's things inside without a care Ryn’s ears picked up the sound of cracking wood. He had already smelt the other wolf from the second that she walked through the door. At first Ryn didn’t think twice about it. Smelling another immortal in New York was like smelling bread in a bakery. It was just to be expected. However something about this one peaked his attention. She was uncomfortably familiar like he’d known her for a long time. Though he was almost certain he had never seen her before. Her scent was also strangely familiar though strange at the same time. It took him a moment to realize why. Ryn had her scent from the past...it was human back then, that was why he didn’t recognize it now. It was tainted. It all came back to Ryn in flurry of memory as he remembered the scene in the bar. The dead werewolf, and the dying hunter. How long ago was that? She was still alive to his surprise. He almost chuckled as he remembered her threats." I’m surprised...so your finally here to take me out are you?" He asked telepathically. They were of the same bloodline, and even though he’d be able to project his thoughts to her if she wasn’t it made it a bit easier.

He hadn't noticed her? Oh thank god he hadn't noticed her. She so did not want to deal with this right now. Her mood was shit and quite frankly she wasn't mad at him. She was thankful for him saving her. It had gotten her promoted to head of the C.A division and it allowed her to know when others like her were around. It had completely opened her eyes and allowed her to kill better. All in all she had become a much better being. Him saving her life had completely changed her. She hadn't felt that way since she had been around Jason. The thought made her blush and she tried to hide it by taking a drink of her drink. The people around her were leaving. Slowly one by one they were getting up and leaving her alone. Good now she had time to think.
It wasn't until the last person had completely left the back lounge that his voice entered her head. It scared her actually and she dropped her drink. It shattered all over the white tile floor. The sound was loud in the small empty room. Great now he could get into her head. She let the annoyance fliter through the mental link.
"If I was here to take you out I would have killed you already. I'm not an idiot. I've become quite used to being like this. I can use it to my advantage."
The female snapped the words both out loud and in her head. No one could hear her because there was no one with her. A waiter came in and cleaned up her drink and he even placed a brand new one on the table next to her. She was going to pick it up but then asked the waiter to bring another one of whatever he was drinking.
"Would you get in here. I need to talk to you. I promise if I wanted to kill your sorry ass then I would have done it already."
She sighed the words telepathically as the waiter left. She really did want to talk to him. Partially to yell at him and partially to thank him. No violence tonight, which was surprising for her. She seemed to be a walking violence magnet. The female settled into the couch that was there and waited. Hopefully he would come. She had no viciousness towards him and simply wanted to talk.

( PAIN OF MINE I RUN BUT IT STAYS RIGHT BY MY SIDE )beware there's things inside without a care Ryn couldn't help but smirk at her response. Killed him already the words were almost humorous to him. Yeah she may have been, and as far as he knew was possibly still a hunter. Yeah he gave her the ability to become more efficient at what she did. Even with that Ryn was older, more experienced, and his line of work made him extremely hard to approach without him noticing. Maybe she could have killed him if he couldn't feel her coming, but that didn't really matter at this point. It seemed that she didn't want any trouble which was completely fine with Ryn. He didn't save her life just to have to kill her in the end. Ryn finished his coke and stood up. "Gonna keep the lady some company...sounds like she needs someone to talk to" he stated to the bartender he chuckled and gave a brief wave.
Ryn walked over to where Aliyah was sitting and sat across from her. "What a pleasant turn of events I don't suppose you've given up hunting your own kind have you?" he asked curiously no longer needing to project his thoughts so he simply spoke. He personally never killed another wolf unless it was in self defense even then he only sought to disable them which was very hard to do considering their resilience. To him killing your own kind was worse than murder. Yeah he was in the business of killing, but humans were hardly his kind. Besides a job was a job. He was being paid to do it so he did so.

tonight is the one thing left and i haven't said it yet, i'm falling
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The female sat on the couch her legs crossed and drink in hand as she waited for him. Did she want to converse with him? Not really. She didn't want to be here but she had to. She had to tell him thanks for changing her, but the words out of his mouth surprised her. She stared at him for a moment letting his words sink in. Was she still a hunter? Well um yeah that's how she lived but she didn't just kill werewolves. Come to think of it she hadn't killed a single werewolf since the incident in the Hard Rock. Maybe it was luck but she didn't know.
"I don't only kill werewolves. Anything that tries to kill a human for a stupid reason has to answer to me. Whether a werewolf's name is placed on my desk in the morning, makes no difference to me."
The words were cold and clipped as she sipped her drink. Her eyes never leaving him. She spoke the truth. It really didn't matter who was placed on her hit list. If they threatened the humans then she's put a bullet between their eyes end of story. She knew just how vulnerable the humans were, having been one herself. They were no match for anything out there and not even the weapons they come up with could protect them. If everyone wanted a life without war and fighting the humans needed to be protected.
"But I'll have you know I haven't killed a single werewolf since being turned."
She added, not sure why she did. It was something that had to be said. She needed to justify herself to him. Explain that what she was doing wasn't bad, but he wouldn't get it. He'd been a werewolf much longer than she had and wouldn't know what being human meant now. Li sighed and shifted herself so both feet were planted firmly on the ground. Her drink resting on her knee as she studied him.
"Well while I have you here I wanted to say thank you. Not only did you save my life, but you opened my eyes. I know I'm still doing the same work I was before but I can actually do it. I'm getting mowed down every time I face an opponent. I am making a difference and it’s because you turned me. So I thank you for that."
The female let out a breath she hadn't known she was holding. She finished her glass and placed it on the little side table next to the couch and leaned back. Maybe he'd actually take her thanks, maybe he would tell her to go die. Whatever the case was she was happy she told him. It was hard telling him that, in all honesty. It was like telling a father something. Odd yes but it was true.
( PAIN OF MINE I RUN BUT IT STAYS RIGHT BY MY SIDE )beware there's things inside without a care Ryn smirked as he listened to her speak. He could remember the act of turning her as vibrantly as it had only happened moments ago. She was his first after all; his only. It wasn't something that he was likely to forget. It wasn't the scratch and forget act that movies portrayed. There was something formed in that moment, a bond perhaps. He had only saved her life because she had called to him. That and it seemed fitting if a hunter is to be saved by the ones they hunt then they should become like them as well, just for irony. He had thought he didn't care whether she lived or died after he had saved her, but he was wrong. Ryn found himself wondering often what had become of her. Now here she was using the same lips that once cursed him, and promised his death; to now thank him. "Strange turn of events...thought you were dead set on killing me for making you a monster?" he asked calmly
"It's for the best that things ended up like this...your three hundred years to young to kill me after all?" Ryn stated as he sipped his drink. It felt good to be in a familiar presence. Well truthfully he knew very little about her. Even so he bloodline now coursed through her veins. He could feel her there here presence radiating more brightly than any were wolves or otherwise he had felt before. He knew it was because they share something more than just species. He wondered if the one that turned him was still around, and if so did they feel him, and by association her as strongly as he did? If so why had he never felt the one that turned him not once. Ryn gave her a friendly grin, so that she knew that he wasn't picking a fight.
