Alex groaned as he watched the train whiz past him. It’s gust of wind blew the hair back from his face, causing his jacket to fly open. Just his damned luck. He usually didn’t travel without enough money to grab a cab, or far enough from his home so that he couldn’t just walk. But just his damned luck that he would do so tonight. The last train of the night had left, and he was merely a few seconds from getting on the thing. A curse fell from his lips as he turned his back to the empty railway. What had possessed him to go out drinking tonight? Sometimes one got that sinking feeling in their gut. That feeling that said you most likely shouldn’t do something. But it was a rare occasion that Alex actually followed that gut feeling. He ran on instinct and hardly seconded guessed something when his gut told him to do as much.
It had been a rather simple evening. Growing restless, Alex ventured from his apartment to take part in the night life. For one night he told himself to forget about trying not to drink and simply enjoy life. Yes, the notion of enjoying anything was often rare for Alex, but for once he simply told himself to shake off the grief. And he knew that he was supposed to be watching what he was drinking but he couldn’t give a fuck tonight. Karma was the word that came to mind in that minute. If he had done as he was supposed to, stayed locked in his apartment, then he wouldn’t be practically stranded.
Home was miles away, and walking wouldn’t have been a problem on most nights. No, the weather had to add to his problems that day. The morning had been bright, sunny and cloudless. He had the naïve notion that the weather would stay just as perfect through the night. Hell had broke loose the moment he stepped out of the bar that night. It wasn’t a steady calm rain. No he would have been lucky if that was the case. This was the complete opposite. It was if someone had simply dumped bucket after bucket of water on top of his head, causing him to flee for shelter. With most of his money spent he had fled for the subway station. Alex had known it was late, but he held on to some small hope that he would catch it in time. But fate was once again cruel, and had shut the doors just as he got a firm footing in front of the train. Someone on the train could have held the door open, but they took one look at his state, soaked clear to the bone with cold rain water, and let the doors shut.
Another curse fell from his lips, his voice echoing in the empty station. Not even a damned homeless person lingered there to mock at him. Utterly alone, he moved to slump onto one of the benches. He could risk going home. He was already soaked, there wasn’t too much damage that rain was going to do to him now…but was it worth it? The wind had picked up, howling in a strange sort of symphony, the percussion of it all added by the boom of thunder. It was one of those storms that always took place in scary movies. When something bad was about to happen, and a strike of lightening illuminated the room. He hated those kinds of storms. Not that he was frightened of them, but during the course of one it always became painfully obvious that you were alone. He was never sure why.
His only other option was to stay here for the night. That didn’t seem too promising either. One look at the gum incrusted bench told him that he should be scared to even sit on it’s surface. So much had already gone wrong tonight that Alex was worried about stepping out on the street and putting himself in more danger. One shouldn’t tempt fate, he learned that the hard way on more than one occasion. So he sat there, nearly pouting as the rain pounded outside. He was in no rush to make a choice between bad and worse, so he leaned back against the bench. His eyes flicked to the clock on the wall. It was only a good…five or six hours until the next train. Could he really sit here and wait for it? Alex wasn’t sure if he could stand being with himself for that amount of time.

Demi raced down the stairs hoping to catch the train as the doors closed and the train left the station. The young women sighed as she crossed her arms in frustration. She couldn't even make it to a train even as a vampire. It was just pathetic, but she couldn't change anything now. What's done was done and now she has to wait about 6 hours till the next train appears. As she turned around, Demi finally noticed another person in the train station. Other then the male and herself, it was empty. It was silent other then the rainstorm going on outside. Demi could hear the rain pound onto the ground, it was raining cats and dogs; not literally of course.
"Damn it," Demi murmured as the thought of being in the train station for 6 hours finally sunk into her mind. She had better things to do then wait around for a train to come but she didn't have a choice. Well, she did. She had to choose between getting extremely and more wet then she already was or waiting for a stupid train. It was like choosing between a rock and a hard place. Walking toward the bench and taking a seat next to the stranger, Demi frowned slightly. The only reason Demi didn't take the taxi or something was since she didn't usually take money out of her home and it usually didn't rain like a flood was going to happen. Glancing at the person next to her, Demi noted that he look about her physical age and that he was human.
Deciding that she was going to stay, Demi didn't want to drown in silence. But she wasn't to good at socializing either without a topic to talk about. So she just chose to introduce herself to kill the silence. "Hey," Demi said. "My name's Demi," She smirked before talking once again. "Amazing day we're having eh?" The vampire said sarcastically.
