The snow was crisp as she tredded silently through the square. It was full of people milling about. Amanda felt a little uncomfortable as people brushed past her, but it was the holidays..She looked around at the all the festivity, Christmas was upon them, and people were going to and fro to their friend's and family's homes celebrating. Amanda had considered visiting her family, but with them all spread out it was only a silly notion in her mind. She wandered around visiting the decorated trees, their scent was dying pine tree but the light and streamers were very pretty none the less.. Her long auburn hair fell past her shoulders, contrasting the white of her coat. Her lips had a shine to their ruby colour, and her eyes shined liked starlight in the lingering twilight. She felt lonesome without her friend from the circus to be with, but she felt the need to visit her mother's grave during this time of year. She had the key to her rented room in her purse as she looked for something to do on such a melancholy night. Although the only places that were open, were bars and old questionable diners. Amanda took her chances with the bar and headed toward he closest one. The McSorley's Old Ale House. It had a old charm about it just from the outside she could tell, and would probably be full of new yorkers looking to have some high spirits tonight. Stepping into the bar, Amanda saw there was a small crowd of people playing pool, drinking at the bar, and messing with the jukebox. She smiled slightly as she continued to enter the building and up to the counter. After a minute the bartender asked the little woman what she would like and Amanda ordered a charmer which to her surprise he knew of the drink and asked politely to see her license. Without adieu, she flashed her card and he nodded, shifting away to make the drink.. www.polyvore.com/amandas_outfit/set?id=26342183

Skuld sat silently in the McSorley's Old Ale House up at the counter with a glass of water. He wore white pants, a red dress shirt, a white coat, and a black tie; which was lose. He had come from talking among the rich at a party a little while ago, and he did not feel like returning home yet. He owned The Shadow Dragon, a big name Night Club, but he had closed it off for the holidays. He mostly did it so his workers could get off for the holidays, and because the only people that came to the club during the holidays were depressing. Skuld really hated depressing people, it made him depressed, and he preferred to be a happy guy.
'So, why am I here?' Skuld asked himself taking a look around his scenery, people were not depressed, but the mood was not one of joy and the party life, plus he didn't spot any women. Not that he was looking hard or anything, he just took a quick glance around the room. Skuld was getting all down in the dumps until a beautiful women came and sat down beside him. She order a drink, flashed her ID, and that was that. Skuld smiled to himself on the inside. What a perfect way to have some fun, or get into trouble. Skuld was not sure what he was wanting to do yet. "Whats a pretty lady like yourself doing here?" Skuld said putting on his charming smile and threw out one of those lame one liners he had saw on t.v.
It had to go one of two ways, based on what he had watched on t.v. One, he would seem like a loser, and she would walk away. Two, he would seem like a blessing from above...down below. His looks and natural charm as a demon where what he depended on most when it came to interactions. Honestly, he was no good at them. Most of his demon life he spent causing problems and starting stuff. Anything else that he did like a human on earth came from watching t.v. 'Ah, t.v, what lessons it teaches me' Skuld thought happily, as he mind wondered off for a moment.

Amanda turned to see where the voice had drifted from, an involuntary chuckle escaping her lips at his line. Her honey- coloured eyes gave him the once over and wondered why such a young and handsome man would use a lame pick up line. ' He probably is being sarcastic.. Although, he is cute..' She smiled with amusement turning so her body was facing his while her elbows rested on the wooden bar counter. " Never got that one before.." Her voice quipped with sarcasm of her one, although she continued with less. " I'm here for holiday, you? " Her voice had a mix of accents, her American and European mixing.
The bartender came forward with the drink and Amanda went through her purse for American notes among her Euros. Grasping five dollars, she slipped it to the man and received her drink. Her delicate hand touched her necklace as she waited for a response calmly. She could smell something odd about this young man, but couldn't put her finger on it- like he wasn't a normal human. But hey, who wasn't these days? She sipped on her drink enjoying the bitter sweet taste on the tip of her tongue.

Skuld was very pleased that his one liner had worked and she was talking to him. At the same time, he realized she was being sarcastic, so he played it off as he was being sarcastic too. As long as she didn't notice, everything would work out fine. 'Never use one liner again' Skuld told himself making a mental note to stop watching old romance t.v shows. He most likely would have better luck with the current shows. The women said she was hear for the holidays, in a beautiful accents at that. Skuld did not do much traveling, other then going to the demon world during the day, and back here at night. He did go to other random places, to get a feel for the people, but he liked to be where the most people where. So big name cities, and places that people would visit just because they could.
Skuld thought for a quick second on how to respond, darn being a demon and not being able to lie. And darn, humans not knowing or really suppose to know about their kind. "I spend most of my nights here." Skuld said not knowing another way to put it best, without saying, I'm a demon. He had already had that problem with a human. This one did not seem human, he was not sure what she was yet. He had to be completely still and focus in order to find that out. But he could not just freeze up, while he was talking to a cute and hot lady. No, he had learned the differences now, she was just hot. What women was not hot really?

The girl nodded, a polite smile curving the corner of her lips upward. Her long hair drifted almost unnoticed to cover part of her face, but with a tuck of her fingers it was put back in it's place. She wondered where to go with the conversation and felt an ounce of nervousness build in her stomach, she didn't like being alone with someone trying to make up excuses as to why they should continue a conversation. Her voice lifted up once again as she asked, " It's nice here, specially around the holidays.."
Looking down at her drink Amanda felt silly, her cheeks coloured slightly in embarrassment, but the dim lighting hid it well. She wanted to say something clever and witty- something to make herself look sophisticated. Although, of course, nothing came to mind.. Looking back to him she nibbled on her lower lip shyly looking into his blue eyes for a moment..

Skuld still felt the depressing aura around him, sure most where trying to hide it on the outside, but Skuld sensed it from within. He no longer wanted to be in a place like this. He wanted to wonder the streets and look for a fight, a fight sounded about nice. He didn't care what gender he would fight with, he just wanted to fight. Then he remembered he was in the presence of a women, such thoughts were uncalled for. Plus, it would be rude of him to just get up, say goodbye, and leave her alone with the depressing. That could lead to her depression, and Skuld would not enjoy knowing that he was the cause. He didn't want to wait for he to be done with her drink. His lack of patience would be mainly at fault.
"Come with me, the best part of New York is its night life." Skuld said reaching and taking her hand. It would have been more gentle men to hold out his hand, but he wanted to get out of there. Fell the night sky on his skin and look up knowing that his eyes would be pleased. He didn't know where he would take her. His club was not to far from here, but he didn't want to go there. He just wanted to wonder, sure it was freezing cold, but he could not tell. Touching her hand made him get a better sense that she was not human, but he didn't know what she was. He did his best to wait for her to agree to enjoy him.
He didn't want to just drag her away, that could be called kidnapping, and he could get into trouble. Trouble did sound fun, but he had to behave in this world; as best as he could. In reality, this place was dangerous to be out in the middle of the night, but Skuld knew no danger. No danger except his father, and powerful demons. Other then that, everything was fun and fine. She could join him in his quest to have some fun, or stay here with the depressing. No matter her decision, Skuld would be out of there, doing something. He could not just sit and wait for action, he had to make it. Action only came to those who made it, or had the patience to wait for it to come to them. But, Skuld had no patience so the first option was what he went with.

She smiled and nodded and felt that the conversation was gonna go dead if something didn't happen soon. Her disappointment in herself for lacking the necessary skill to even hold a conversation was sad. She suddenly felt him grasp her hand and ask her to come with him, her golden eyes shined with amusement while a feeble voice in her head told her going out late at night with a complete stranger was a very bad idea. Then again Amanda was never known for her good decisions, since she smiled deviously and gulped the rest of her dink in one swallow, not spilling a drop. Years of drinking at parties in Russia had given her a high tolerance to alcohol; she grabbed her purse and and let him lead her outside the warm bar and into the chilly night air. " Mkay, let's go then.. "
Her light brown hair picked up in the breeze slightly as she exiting the building, then settled as she looked to the cute guy for directions. " Hmm, I can't say I ever got your name.. I'm Amanda by the way."With the lingering taste of the bitter drink still on her tongue, the were-fox smiled coyly. The sounds of cabs and people walking around reassured her in feeling not so alone with the stranger.

Skuld was very pleased that the women decided to join him and soon they were out of that depressing place. To bad that Skuld really didn't know where to go from there. Things where so much easier in the demon world, he could just go and create havoc and have no problems about it. Here he had to be careful, or he would look like he was a little strange. Not that being strange was ever a bad things, but among the humans it was. He remembered reading about witch hunts, and vampire hunts. All sorts of crazy things the humans did to anyone that was not like them.
The woman pointed out that she never got her name and introduced herself as Amanda. The was a nice name, simple and sweet with a common ring to it. Not that common was a bad things, who was to say what was bad and god anyway. "Forgive me Amanda, I have a lack of patience." Skuld said being tastefully honest, the only things he knew how to be and could be. "I'm Verin Verdelet, my formal name; but feel free to call me by my club name, Skuld." Skuld said all gentle men like as he took her hand and kissed it, another thing he saw in the movies. Skuld then led her farther down the street away from most of the humans, so they would be more so alone.
"What are you?" Skuld asked in a whisper tone as soon as he felt like they were a good distance away from the people. If she had no clue what he was talking about, he would assume she was a human. If she was quite, he knew something was up and she was not human. He just wanted to know before the night went on. He could only be out for the night and then would have to return home. He wanted to have a little fun before that happened. If she was human he would just show her the night life, possibly. If she was not human he would still show her the nightlife but in a more or less human way. A fun and dangerous way to be exact.

A blush appeared as she hid a giggle when he kissed her hand. There was something to be said about the old formal ways. Part of her wanted to call him by his real name, Verin sounded nice and unique almost regal. Though, she thought it better to keep things a little more light and fun for the night, " Skuld.." She murmured trying to remember it. The change in atmosphere left her a little uneasy, being alone wasn't something she had planned with this man, at least not unless things got really interesting later..
She looked at Skuld hesitantly when his voice dropped to little more than a whisper. She could tell he knew she was not human, but she knew he was what he seemed either. " I suppose mysterious girl looking for a good time won't suffice would it? " She chuckled at her own nervousness. " I'm little more than a fox in human clothing.." She said impishly as the alcohol began to loosen her up and gave her courage.
"And what may I ask are you? You're not a werewolf, not brutish enough.. I would be able to smell if you were a were, perhaps a vampire? Or something else?.." She lacked enough sense to be afraid of other creatures of the night, all she had met had been fairly normal and trustworthy. Her she looked up to Skuld with inquisitive eyes much like that of a young child wanting to know more of the world..

Skuld watched Amanda closely and noted that she could not hold her alcohol or it didn't take long to effect her body. Nothing wrong with either of the two, it might even make the night more interesting. She spoke of what she was almost indirectly, but Skuld understood what she meant. She was a were creature and a fox on at that. Cute, a little foxy for him to have as a pet. He never met a were fox before, but they were apparently not so small in population , well that what his books had read some umpteen years ago. Skuld was mainly surprised that she was so willing to give over the information, she didn't even denies anything. A honest creature, Skuld liked that.
But he did not plan on telling her what he was just yet, he would let her take a guess and just assume. Being a vampire would not be so bad, other then the need for blood and all. Skuld only needed blood in the sense to kill and see blood all over the place. But, he was not really all that morbid, most of the time. "I'm not a vampire." Skuld said with a sly smile as he led her on in the streets. It was cold and Skuld would not be surprised it it started snowing or hailing. Now that he knew that she was not human, he could have a little more fun. Skuld let go of her hand and stopped in front of her.
"Lets play a game. It will be a quick way to see the city all before sunrise, and it will be fun." Skuld said having the game tag in mind. Tag was always a fun game, he loved to play it, especially with things he was about to kill. Not that he was about to kill her or anything. Just a simple game of tag, well not to simple, a little tricky. Tag might have been to childish for her, he was not sure. She might even come up with a game, Skuld was running out of ideas, and his brain had to do a lot of thinking which caused him to pause and look off for a little to focus.

Amanda smirked liking the guessing game he was putting her through, a little mystery was fun. With all her five feet-five inches, she looked up to him as the wind picked up and left her shivering only slightly. Her body wanted to move, to keep from getting cold outside. " A game? What kind of game could possibly get me to see the whole city all in one night? " All the while she was running through the lists of creatures he could possibly be.
Her mind drifted over him being a demon for a moment, but then tucked it back away when she noted how not scary or blood-thirsty he seemed to be. She knew he couldn't be an angel, no angel would bother speaking to her with all the sin on her soul. She tried to push the question aside in her mind, ' He'll slip up eventually and give me a clue..'

Skuld chuckled a little at her little question on what game could let her see the whole city. "Well my little fox, tag would." Skuld said adding emphasis on the word tag as he touched her and then ran off. She could play or not, Skuld really didn't care, he was going to run off no matter what, and he would keep running until something stopped him. Plus it was cold, the best way to heat up a human body was to get it moving and in action. Skuld had not really taken this appearances and body of a human for a spin yet. He had to learn what he could and could not do with it and how far he could push it.
Since it was something he learned to create, it should have been able to achieve some demon things to a certain extent, but it would not be able to go full blown. Like he could not just punch into the street and expect to create a giant creator, without his fists bleeding. In his demon for he could do that without even feeling it and could even use his wings to fly and destroy thing. Oh how he wished he could fly at the moment, but humans could not fly at all. He could still move things with his mind, but he was told to treat that carefully, but Skuld was a rule breaker in the first place, most of the time.
He pulled off his tie and let it go in the wind as he tossed his jacket. He could go back for it later, or not at all. Money was not really a problem for him and he could always buy a new one of anything he wanted or needed. Clothing held him back when it came to speed, but he could not run around the streets exposed. 'Wonder what that would feel like?' Skuld asked himself. He saw a guy on t.v. do that and they put him away, away in a crazy peoples home. He glanced back to see if he was being followed or not.

She laughed incredulously, not expecting such a silly game. Still though, her heart jumped when he took off running. She looked around to see if anyone was looking, but no one seemed to notice the game being played here, she shook her head at how silly she was going to look in a few moments. She thanked the heavens she had enough sense to wear her only pair of boots without stiletto heels and then smirked as she took off after Skuld. The bright lights of the city dazzling her eyes as her long hair flew back in the wind..
The wind whipped her face but she hardly noticed as she tried to catch up with him, dodging a tie he had taken off and couldn't help but start laughing. 'Is he gonna strip all the way? ' She almost tripped on his jacket, and wondered if the young Skuld was really all there in the head, or just this random on purpose. She didn't mind though, he was fun as she gave chase yet faster. The fox in her wanted to come out and knew she would be able to run faster in that form, but with all the vehicles and people around Amanda knew it would be a terrible idea. Especially when she returned to human form naked, not good when the rest of her clothes are on the fifth story of a luxury hotel.

Skuld saw that his knew little foxy was playing along with him and it brought a smile to his face. He would not be surprised if she just turned into a fox and started chasing him. 'That would be so cute' Skuld thought imagining himself holding her like an evil villein does a cat. He even went as far to image himself ruling Hell with her as his pet. To bad the chances for him ruling Hell where slim, and would be a really long time away. It was custom for the eldest to get the thrown. Skuld was not even sure his his older brother wanted to rule hell, from what he found out about him, he wanted them all dead. Or it seemed that way anyway.
"Right there is my club." Skuld said as they ran past his club which was in complete darkness. He would just take her all over tonight, loop around, and end the tour/game from where they started. It would make the tour go quick, fun, easy for Skuld, and it was the best idea Skuld could come up with. Sure he could have driven a car around and just stopped at the famous places, or important, but Skuld didn't have a car. He never felt like he needed one before. Plus he didn't know what car to get, there were so many and different colors.
Skuld slowed down to a stop, realizing that he was lost on where to go after his club. He never really went many places by feet travel. Skuld looked around and let out a chuckle feeling dumber then ever. "It seems I'm lost." Skuld said telling the truth a he looked around to try and remember how to get back home. 'Why did I suggest giving a tour?' Skuld asked himself letting out a sigh and loosed his dress shirt. He felt hot despite the cold weather.

Amanda looked over at the club as they ran past, she had been able to catch up by then, thinking of how fast he was. She noticed his turns were becoming less sure and she wondered if he even knew where he was going. She knew her suspicion was correct when he slowed to a stop and told her they were lost. She chuckled and shook her head. " That was a short tour" She chuckled again, " I think i remember how to get back to your club.." She was feeling a little too warm herself as she watched Skuld loosen his shirt. Averting her eyes she tried to remind herself that she was not looking for that kind of party tonight.. She began to walk back in the direction they had come from, using her sense of smell to help her find her way. She kept her pace slow so he could follow if he wanted. With a pair of golden eyes, she looked around at the lights shining on through the night. Advertisements and retail seemed to be a constant in this world. She thought of her home back in Russia, the cool nights and the rich history. She half wished to be back there again, she knew she never fit into this scene- she was too weird and in love with the stars.. (sorry I haven't posted in a while, a friend of mine died recently and I've been having trouble writing since.. )
