Where Your Abilities Fall
The Character Talents
::STRENGTHS::
1. Having friends around
2. Good people skills
3. Always in a positive mood
::SUMMARY::
The three things that make Adrian a great friend is her ability to stay positive, her good people skills, and having her friends around to help her out of trouble. For example, when people are barking at her during her lunch break at school, Adrian remains patient, while waiting for a teacher to arrive and take over. She does this because she knows that she doesn't have the power to threaten an in-school-suspension or expulsion, and trying to deal with an angry student is taking time from that. Even after all of that, Adrian is laughing and smiling as if it never even happened. She's also very helpful while at work. If a fellow waiter has a lot of things to serve, Adrian will swoop in and give them a hand. If a cook accidentally spills something, Adrian will help her clean up.
::WEAKNESSES::
1. Coffee
2. Wriggly's Chewing Gum
3. Anything with puppies or kittens on it.
::SUMMARY::
She knows her weaknesses, and she ranks Wriggly's Chewing Gum number one on her list. If she goes through a whole day without a single piece of gum, Adrian becomes a little hyper; she plays around more often than she usually does, and becomes really loud, especially with her laughs. It usually gets out of hand, which drives people around her crazy, so her friends equip themselves with a 15 piece pack of Wriggly's Gum and give her a stick or two of gum. But, if it is a week or more, Adrian's activity increases 10 fold. This side of Adrian is practically feared by peers. But, friends know what to do: Just give Adrian the whole pack of gum.

::CLOTHES::
Not too much, not too little. Adrian likes to wear multi-colored hoodies and shirts and bleached jeans. When working as a servant, Adrian wears a rather simple-looking outfit: a blouse and dress pants.
::SUMMARY::
Adrian likes to mix up her clothes, but still have them look good together. She can go outside with just a large hoodie and a pair of leggings, and not worry about people talking about her outfit. When it comes to her style of outfits, opinions aren't even necessary--only if the comment is negative. With summer clothes, Adrian doesn't mind tank tops and shorts, as long as the shorts are not 'daisy dukes'. (I think that's what they are called) She has noticed that wearing those with just spaghetti strap tops attracts a lot of guys. But she isn't sure if it's just her that is suffering from that problem. In the winter time, she sticks to sweaters, jeans, boots, long skirts, and puffy jackets with a cute pair of gloves and a scarf. She knows better than to wear shorts, a t-shirt, and flip-flops during a snowy day. She has tons of sweaters, plenty of skirts, and millions of jeans, so she has a choice of what to wear and what to stay warm in.

::BLESSINGS::
1. Whenever there's a fight, Adrian's there to break it up
2. She's always making friends with the non-popular ones
3. She holds herself accountable for things she did
4. She never gets angry when you call her a boy
::SUMMARY::
Adrian is an easy-going, fun-loving girl who likes to have fun, make friends, and maintain a steady job at work and a steady life in the house she lives in.
She never really gets angry, especially when people first assume she is male because of her name, 'Adrian'. People have been doing that since pre-school, and she has gotten used to the gender confusion by name. What she does when some goes up to her asking if she is a guy, Adrian just tells them "No, I'mma girl." in a calm, polite voice.
::Easy-going/Fun-loving/Friendly::
Adrian talks to people who aren't easily recognized by people around them because she feels that everyone needs a friend. Since she has manners, she asks if she could sit with the person. She understands if they want to be alone; Adrian used to be anti-social as a preteen. But if the person lets her sit with them, Adrian begins a conversation with him/her. She asks about interests, hobbies, after-school activities, etc. Adrian likes to ask because that person might have the same interests as her.
When she's with friends, Adrian likes to play around, crack jokes, and pull pranks. With jokes, they are about nearly everything and everyone: Current disputes between celebrities, comic book heroes, government leaders, etc. For pranks, it depends on what her friends choose. Whatever they need for the prank, Adrian runs to go fetch them. She doesn't like pulling the prank on her own because she's scared that she will throw the whole thing off.
When she plays around, she can be pretty random with it. She can go up to a friend and throw her arm around them as if she was choking them, but then say, "HEYYY BEST BUDDY!!!". She can also pretend that she owns the person, or "pimp-slap" them. Her ways of playing around involve some type of physical contact, but she will not go further and injure him or her.
::Responsible for actions::
If she does hurt someone, whether it be physical or emotional, Adrian always apologizes for it. Sometimes, it's never hurting someone, but getting caught for something that she knows she did wrong. Adrian will apologize, stating that she will not do it again.
::Secretive about Emotions::
This is the only time you'll see Adrian upset over something. The main thing that seems to get Adrian worked up is her life at home, with her biological father. But, she won't tell anyone--not even the guidance counselor--about all the stress her father gives her right when she comes home from work, or the times he's probably hit her. When she's at school, she tries to hide her pain from her friends, but she knows they will find out what happened with her and her father one way or another. Adrian tells herself that she cannot dwell on the fact that her father is the only one who brings her down.

::HISTORY::
She was your usual, sweet, little girl who could smile at the snobbiest rich child in the neighborhood. But as sweet as she was, things did not go well at home; Mother was never home, and dad was always yelling and screaming at her. At 10, Adrian couldn't take it anymore. She wanted to run away, to escape, to find a father who would never scream at her, let alone hit her. She couldn't run away, because her best friend, Rebbecca, held her back. She told her, "You can't run away! You'd be leaving a lot of special people behind!". She was right, Adrian couldn't leave a best friend behind. They were tight, and nothing could tear them apart.
Oh, but something did rip those two girls apart. A divorce, to be exact. Rebbecca had to leave the state after her mother gained custody of her daughter and young son. The day of the move, Adrian had bought a necklace--a best friend for life necklace. Rebbecca received the "best" part of the necklace because Adrian believed that she was the best at almost everything, and kept the "friend" part because she was a friend, and a good one. They girls hugged before Rebbecca walked out of the door and entered the mini-van that was owned by her father. The teary-eyed Adrian never saw her again.
Their means of communication consisted of writing and talking on the phone. One day, Adrian's father, Dayton, forbid her from talking on the phone after he looked after the bill. Since that day, she was not allowed to talk on the phone during the week--or the weekends. Yet, Adrian could still right to her friend. She told Rebbecca about the forbidden telephone, which she was still quite upset about. Rebbecca wrote that Adrian should be grateful that she is still able to be in contact with a friend in a different state. Adrian admitted that her friend was right.
Two years later... Adrian met a new friend--Nickolas, a boy. He was a good boy who did well in school, and goofed off a lot. She even took a liking to him. Days turned into weeks, which turned into months, and then transformed into a year; Nickolas and Adrian were inseparable in the 7th grade. But that all changed. 8th grade... Valentine's Day... Nickolas had given Adrian a card and some of her favorite candies. She hugged him, because he had asked her to be his valentine--his girlfriend.
They dated for only a week before Nickolas went missing. Adrian literally went into a state of insanity. She checked the police office every day to see if they've found a 14 year old boy. Sadly, Nickolas was not found. The more they came up empty-handed, the more Adrian wanted to kill her herself because she feared that he was dead. She wrote Rebbecca about this situation, to seek comfort from a long-distance friend. When she received a reply back, Rebbecca wrote that she was sorry to hear that Adrian's new boyfriend went missing, and that she should keep faith in him and the Lord, as well as pray for Nickolas' safe return. It was really good advice.
All of the praying, and hoping was not enough to bring her beloved Nickolas back home to her.
Nickolas was pronounced dead at the hospital. He was beaten with a blunt object while he was walking home from a music store. Oh how she wanted to kill herself, just to be with her dear Nickolas. Friends at school, and neighbors had battled her to keep her from not destroying herself. They all said that Nickolas wants her to move on, and find someone just like him to fill his shoes. Adrian didn't believe them. She doubted that she'll find another boy just like Nickolas. But her friends and neighbors refused to give up.
After three years of being single and depressed, Adrian announced that she was okay. Even though Nickolas was never coming back to her, she said that it was alright--Nickolas remained in her heart, and always will. Soon enough, Adrian became more cheerful, and easy-going; she was starting to hang around with guys who liked to joke around and pull pranks, and hung around girls who gave hugs as a greeting and dressed themselves with the cutest accessories.
It was all good... except for at home.
Adrian was often attacked with barrages of complaints from her father. Instead of running, she had to step up. Adrian began to yell back, but found herself running away each time. Her refuge? A neighbor's house. Sometimes she would stay with her neighbor for days and days before going back to the war zone called home.
18... the age where she was considered an adult.
Her father continued to treat her bad, yelling at her for little things and beating on her for no reasons. Enough was simply enough. Adrian couldn't take it anymore. She took money, and clothes, and the necessities with her on the night she ran away from home. The bus stop was a long walk, but Adrian didn't care.
As she waited for the bus, she noticed a flyer. The advertisement was looking for people who needed a job. She read more, and realized that the one who put this advertisement up was looking for servants. It sounded like a good job to start off with, but she didn't know what she was getting herself into. Adrian whipped out a pen and piece of paper and copied the number down, as well as the other contact information, right before her bus arrived.
While on the bus, Adrian had to find a motel to stay at for a few days as she tried to get the job. Maybe she didn't have to stay at a motel... on the paper she had was the unknown person's address. It was time to visit this man in need of a few servants. When she got off the bus, the first place she saw was a small cafe with outdoor tables. She needed time to think about taking this job. How bad can servitude be? It can be very bad, depending on the master; either he or she can be sweet and gentle, or abusive and cruel. She made up her mind--she was taking this job. She didn't care what kind of master this person was, and whatever crap they were going to give her, she would just take it and go on about her day.
She gave the street name to the bus driver, picked a seat, and in an instant, Adrian was asleep. The constant stops kept her from sleeping, so the bus ride was less than enjoyable. The bus driver called out her stop, and when the bus stopped, Adrian's response was her getting up and walking off the bus.
Adrian could see a small bit of the large house on a hill up ahead. That must have been where the master lived. She walked up the hill, approached the house and rang the doorbell. She waited at least 5 minutes before a small, elderly woman answered the door, allowing Adrian entrance into the house of her unknown hirer. The woman told Adrian to follow her to the master's room.
Was she nervous? Definitely. When she saw the master and owner of the elegant estate, Adrian could barely utter a word.
"Why are you here?" The master asked her, whom was surprised to hear that she ran from home and needed a job to support herself. The master then suggested that Adrian stay in the house, rather than stay in the filthy motels or the run-down apartments that were miles and miles away. When the employer took her to a room, Adrian thanked the master before he left her to get settled. "You have a big day tomorrow, so you might as well get as much sleep as you can.", was his announcement.
Adrian decided to explore the room before going to sleep. In one of the cabinets was the servant's uniform, she assumed. Next to it was a nightgown. She took it out, and tried it on; it was a bit large, but it didn't matter to her. After she finished getting settled, Adrian threw herself in the bed and crawled under the covers. The bed... it was so soft that she couldn't get up from it; it even put her to sleep under 5 seconds. That or she was exhausted.
The next day, Adrian presented herself in the uniform already provided for her. Today was the day of her training. She messed up a few times, but was allowed another retry until she got the hang of it. When training was done and over with, Adrian was given a break so her master could decide whether or not she was hired. She didn't know anyone yet, so she went to her room, and laid on the bed for a while until the verdict came. The master came into her room with a smile on his face. Adrian knew that it was something good.
"You got the job Adrian. Congratulations."
Those six words were music to her ears. She was so excited that she hugged her master, saying, "Oh my god, thank you, thank you so muuuuch!!!!" That night, Adrian wrote a letter with her new address and sent it to her good friend Rebbecca to tell her the good news.

BUZZZZZZZZ....
One pale blue orb and one olive green orb slowly revealed themselves as a response to the loud noise. Then, the body that they belonged to moved; a creamy, medium sized hand reached out towards a small, aqua rectangular prism with all sorts of little parts to it. There was a large green button--the hand reached for that, slamming down hard on it. Adrian had put the aqua-colored prism on "sleep-mode"
Her mornings always begun this way; a noisy alarm clock screaming in her ear at seven o' clock in the morning. Her body rose from the oh-so-soft bed and dragged itself across the carpet to reach the closet. Once her cream hands pulled the doors open, and took out a white blouse and a black skirt that came down to the knees, Adrian shuffled her way back to the bed, where she laid them out and left the articles of clothing to escape to the bathroom.
The bathroom walls were snow white, along with just about everything else: the shower, the sink, the toilet, everything including the tile floor. Adrian had stripped down to nothing, leaving a pile of rags on the rug near the sink, and went to the shower where she pulled out the faucet and turned it slightly to the right. The water came rushing down from the shower head almost immediately after the faucet was turned on.
She just stood there, in the warm water's path, letting small rivers flow down her body. As much as she wanted to stay there, and let the warm water run down her creamy form, she didn't have a the time in the world to do that; she had a job to do. Adrian reached for a round, puffy-looking sponge, drenched it in body soap and began to massage the soap into the sponge. Then--she proceeded with lathering her body with the fruity smelling soap. It would only take her at least three or four minutes: two minutes to lather, one or two minutes to rinse off and call it quits in the shower.
Once she stepped out, she pulled a towel off from the railings, and wrapped it around her body to dry off. She walked over to the sink, and stood there in front of the mirror. Adrian pulled out a toothbrush, and the tube of toothpaste that laid there on the sink top. She twisted the cap off, and squeezed the tube until a sky blue paste was forced out, and landed on the bristles of the toothbrush. She raised the brush to her mouth, bared her non-threatening teeth, and began to scrub the paste onto them. Back and forth, up and down, side to side; Adrian brushed everywhere to make sure that her teeth were clean, then moved onto scrubbing her tongue clean.
She leaned over and spit the thick, sky-blue-ish substance out from her mouth, and held the brush under the water to rinse it off. As she did that, she thought about the people she had left behind at home. Adrian shook her auburn head, trying to force the thought of Home out of her mind. I'm not going back home, that's final!, she shouted at herself, putting the toothbrush back, and walked out of the pure white bathroom, entering her bedroom.
In the small drawer were undergarments; some had polka dots, some had empty circles, while others were stripped and had hearts on them. All of her bras and underwear had bright, happy colors. She pulled out one set of stripes and slipped them onto her body, followed by her favorite lotion from Bath and Body Works, then the corresponding perfume. Next came her uniform; the simple, blank blouse with a pair of obsidian dress pants that women often wore to business. She threw the snow button-up blouse on her silky, cream body, then closed it up by slipping each button into the hole across from them. Then, she slid one of her legs into the pants leg, and did the same for the other, pulling them up to her waist and zipping them so they were secure.
Adrian traveled back to the drawer, and searched it for a pair of socks. They sat right next to her undergarments. She picked up a black pair of socks, walked over to the bed and sat on it; one leg was propped up on the other as she pulled one of the socks on to her foot. That leg then planted itself on the floor, to help support it's opposite. She would do the same for that leg. Now that she had both feet covered, Adrian slid them both into a pair of black, ballet-style slippers.
She was ready to go do her job.
