Where Your Abilities Fall
The Character Talents
::STRENGTHS::
1. Working Hard
2. Art
3. Protective
4. People skills
::SUMMARY::
Derrick is a talented artist, and wonderful with people. He usually knows just what to say to brighten somebody’s day, or knows just the right gesture, or the sort of smile to give someone. He knows that working hard will put you where you want to be in life and always leads to positive events. His determination to work hard and achieve his goals is partly what made him such a good artist. It takes practice and the willingness to commit. His people skills came naturally, a good pick out of the gene pool perhaps, or a part of being highly attentive to certain details, such as the way people act, speak, how certain gestures make them react. In tern if he names you a friend then he will make sure you are so no matter what. He’s not fond of violence, but if needed he will take action.
::WEAKNESSES::
1. Too trusting
2. Works too hard
3. Too Protective
4. Seeks Danger
::SUMMARY::
Ever since Derrick was a young boy, he had a taste for trouble, and an addiction for the thrill of a risk. He was the kid jumping off the roof, or speeding off a ramp on his bicycle, the one who had a new bruise every week, and a new bandage every day, yet still had the brightest smile of them all. But this love of trouble often got him into dangerous situations, or on the bad side of many adults. Over time he learned to control his erges to do something reckless, but sometimes he just wants to have fun. But besides being a risk taker, he’s a kind-hearted man, who sometimes is led blindly by trust, and will always throw himself into danger if it Is to save someone that he truly cares for. He has known to stay up one too many nights, working himself too hard to get things done, and its never good for your health to do so.

::SUMMARY::
A smile on his face, and his youthful approach on life often makes Derrick seem younger than he really is. He doesn’t believe on dwelling on the negative, or frowning too long, therefore he makes sure to laugh, to always smile, and to always comfort. He believes being positive is the reason he seems to transcend aging, unlike his brother. He does his best to dress nicely, even if it is just a nice shirt with a pair of jeans. He doesn’t always feel the need to be over dressed, but there’s no reason to be a slob either. He resembles his brother in looks, almost too closely, enough to be confused for him, only he has blue eyes and dark hair. Like his brother, his hair is constantly a mess, and he’s always seen running his fingers through it in an attempt to get it out of his face.Personality is EverythingHow They Might Act::LIKES::

::SUMMARY::
With a like of danger, it is only natural that Derrick would sometimes get himself into too much trouble, or sometimes do something foolish, hoping on his luck to get him too survive. But he often jokes that he never seeks trouble, that trouble seems to find him. He doesn’t like people who are afraid to take risks in life, believing that If you don’t take that jump, life will stand still until you move. Though he knows that one day he will have to calm himself down, to start a family, to have a child, which he wants. He doesn’t like people who constantly look at the dark side of things, like his brother who never seemed to want to look at all the good out there. And sometimes seeing the good too much causes him to get into tight situations as well, but as he always says, it’s good to learn from your mistakes.He hates people who feel the nedd to drink every day to the point of intoxication. Life wasn’t meant to be enjoyed through the eyes of a bottle.
But Derick can, and often does, contradict himself. Although he hates those who love to judge, he can sometimes do it himself. And although he claims to be a family man, he hates the mention of his lack of bond with his own. Leaving his family was one of the biggest mistakes he ever made, but it was done and theres no way to take it back. Despite all that, he longs for a fmialy, and that is apparent in the way he acts torwads others, especially children.

::HISTORY::
As a small boy growing up, Derrick’s life was almost normal. He was always seen with his little brother, playing with him, protecting him from bullies. And even though he loved him dearly there was always tension there, since Derrick was the first boy in the family, and was favored greatly by his father. He didn’t like the extra attention, knowing it was wrong even as a young boy. But he loved his father all the same, and he knew that refusing such attention would greatly hurt the old man. He did his best to play the rebel child, hoping that it would make his father favor Alex instead, but that never worked. No matter how much mischief he got into, Alex bailed him out and took the blame.
Derrick was carefree and innocent most of his childhood and into his teen years; he did alright with school, but didn’t push himself. He often doodled in class instead of paying attention, and was never one to stay quiet for too long. There was always something going on with him, something that always grabbed his attention. He hated just sitting in a classroom. The moment he lost this happy go lucky outlook on life was when his father died, right before he started his last year of high school. It shook his world, and instantly he couldn’t function. The loss of someone close to him hit him harder than anything else in the world. He couldn’t take the pain that his mother showed or the carelessness in Alex’s eyes at the funeral. So he left town, knowing that he no longer had a place in the family, fearing that the family would just tumble apart. IT was a choice that he would forever regret in his life, but one that had already been made, and could never be fixed.
He knew how much he hurt his mother, causing her to lose two men she loved dearly instead of just one, and it hurt him even more to know that he was then shunned from the family, and his name was considered mud in their home. He never tried to visit his mother again, and knows only about her through chance meetings with his brother.
In this time that he fled town, he became a bit more of a rebel, finding that he could make a living off art, and didn’t need to go to school, and discovering the thrill of motor biking. Struggling to make it on his own, he sold his art, and then began to do physical training when he could, knowing that the life he was going to lead would take a rough turn. Racing and fighting was a sort of escape for him, something to save his mind from going negative. He was wise to do so, because the life he led was rough, the neighborhood’s he called home were usually drug sites, full of guns, killings, and poverty. Still he kept his positive look on life, knowing that if he let his mind think badly then there would be no hope out of this situation.
He earned his break out of there by saving every penny he could, get whatever job he could, selling his art. Not once did he cop out and go the easy way by selling drugs, or stealing. The only way to get something in life was to work for it, as his father had always told him. For now he lives in a nicer part of town, still not the best, still not rolling in money, but he is happy now, content with his life. He hopes of finding his brother, fixing their relationship, and to find a fulfilling career. He wants to start a family someday, but doesn’t plan on doing so until his life is more stable.
