Where Your Abilities Fall
The Character Talents
::STRENGTHS::
1. Quick Wit and Sly
2. Incredibly Intelligent
3. Strong and Athletic
::SUMMARY::
Brook’s strengths definitely stem straight from her job. Graduating the academy at only seventeen she quickly progressed her career and managed to do some things that other agents have only dreamed of. In this, Brook is really her job and its only recently that she’s come to pick up more hobbies with the less amount of work on her plate, which has drawn her slightly back to school, taking morning classes and working nights at her station. Her quick wit and sly capabilities make her a suave and charming individual and is very often the best when it comes to high-pressure negotiations and situations. She’s truly a threat to any criminal.
::WEAKNESSES::
1. Distant
2. Untrusting
3. Unlucky
::SUMMARY::
With all the work she does, though outwardly she can project a friendly warm and approachable individual, Brook is a very distant individual. Almost like she can play the game of life, but has no desire to keep playing. She’s often bored because of this and spends a lot of time by herself. She’s also extremely untrusting especially after a betrayal of the only friend she ever made at the academy that lead to the death of her partner. Strangely enough as well, odd unlucky almost supernatural things happen to her all the time that she can never explain. Though sometimes its unlucky but lucky at the same time, like the bad things that would happen would cause her to go to a different spot and find a vital clue to her cases.
The More Human Side of Things
Human Appearance
::HAIR:: Naturally brown, but she has been known to dye it for a job. It reaches to a bit below her chin.[/size]
::EYES:: Green
::HEIGHT:: 5’9
::WEIGHT:: 126
:MARKS:: Covering her entire back is a large pentagram/jewish star esq like burn mark that looks as though threads of gold are interwoven in the scarred skin.
::SKIN TONE:: Ivory, pale, porcelain
::BODY TYPE:: Lean, physically fit, slim, everything is proportional.
::CLOTHES:: If she’s not in uniforms she wears jeans and t-shirts or any comfortable like clothes.
::SUMMARY::
Brook is quite beautiful in the quintessential sense, but she doesn’t care much for her outer appearance, as she is very career driven. He sweet green eyes, tall model like height and petite almost deceiving form makes her a very deadly adversary. Though she truly wishes to be looked at professionally in her job she is not below using her womanly guiles to get what she wants when it comes down to solving a case or not. Her light weight makes her easier to be thrown around though which is a down side to larger enemies, but she’s grown to use her small yet strong form to her advantage when it comes to physical defense. The scar on her back had always been on her body and seemed to grow with her since she could remember. Though she’s tried methods to get rid of it, the gold threaded scared skin, but no doctor seems to be able to get rid of it.

3. Easy to get along with.
::SUMMARY::
At heart Brook is your average girl, just incredibly brilliant. Reading and painting are her core hobbies of relaxation and also what her classes focus around at Pratt. Puzzles, whether word, physical or office related always fascinate her, which in turn makes her like detective stories a whole lot. It goes along with the love she has for her job and hopes in the future to open up her own private firm. Brook basically can’t stand people who are full of themselves or who think its okay for others to be full of themselves, which goes along with her dislike of the superficial type people. Though she doesn’t agree with all laws set forth, she generally believes that ones that have been set in place have been set in place for a reason and are good at heart.
She buries herself in work constantly and in turn won’t let herself open up to others. If she’s not on a case for the department, she’s working on homework or going to class. If she isn’t doing either of these things then she is at the library looking through the stacks on records of her hometown, the fire and her mother’s original whereabouts, if these practices don’t subside her unease then she’s working out or sleeping, which makes it hard to have any type of relationship with humans in general. She’s stubborn when she’s made up her mind and even if she’s wrong she’ll refuse to admit it no matter what the facts and it doesn’t help that most of the time she is right. Other than these flaws she has an amazing ability to interact with people and is loved for her ability to get the job done and stay on task. She doesn’t speak much but listens and always offers advice which makes her a bit of a favorite among her coworkers and those around her.

::HISTORY::
Brook was born in a rural town in Ohio just north east of Cincinnati. That is what her birth certificate says at least. Born to Belle Corin, Brook lived happily up to the age of three when a fire took her house killing her mother and leaving Brook by herself. Belle never gave any indication as who Brook’s real father is or was and so she was sent to an adoption agency. Luckily, a loving family, the Kaelins, adopted her. Zooey Kaelin was the chief of police for their little town and his wife Franny worked at the elementary school. Both had tried for a child for quite some time but Franny was unable to bear one and so they ended up adopting the little girl after the tragedy.
Brook’s quick wit and uncanny ability to be aware of all that was going on around her made her quite the handful of a child, but she was the pride and joy of Franny and Zooey. Often she’d go with Zooey to work and watch what he did as he’d tell her stories and explain the mysterious of the world. In turn it made Brook want to be an officer as well, but her dreams were more grandiose than the small town of Ohio and after her early graduation she went straight to the Academy and succeeded so quickly that she graduated top of her class early once more being recruited into the special ops force and the FBI for six years. At her last year she was offered a higher position in the FBI but denied the position to work for less money in New York under the NYPD, which shocked many of her coworkers, but was quintessentially a Brook thing to do. Her excellence revolved around her bizarrely accurate intuition and a strange amount of random events that would lead her to the clues she needed. Like a car accident making her take a different road and leading her to the alley where a murder victim lay, coincidence was not a stranger to Brook.
For the past year she’s been on the force taking classes at Pratt Institute and working for the force at night. Though she can be social if she wants to, she mostly pulls back and spends time by herself doing schoolwork or reading. She’d been asked out on dates multiple times but denied them all. Recently she’s spent her time trying to track down her mother’s history as well as who her father could potentially be. It would seem that her mother was quite sneak. Records of a woman named Belle Corin only exist in Coshocton, but the town being so small and loving just accepted her in without question. Now Brook wanted to know who her mother really was and who her father was. She lives in a small flat in upper Manhattan, a present from her old job, and frequent of the public library and central park. With her history she’s found that keeping herself busy is the easiest way to fight the boredom she feels with life, because ever since she was little she didn’t feel like she belonged really anywhere in the world.

::RP EXAMPLE::
Brook sat quietly in a nice yellow sundress on a bench in central park in the late afternoon sun. God glistened off her back from the strange markings she'd had since she could remember. It was really one of the only things from her childhood that she still had left. At first she was embarrassed, but now she held her shoulders with pride as greatness to her was not based on physical appearance. It was her first day off in weeks, well first day off from studying, working, doing her assignments, et cetera. Three wrinkled pages with a stain in the upper right hand corner of the page stared at her from her lap. The paper looked so withered and old it was a miracle it did not fall apart in her hands. On top of all of this she was not the least bit delicate towards it. Maybe it was the content of the letter or who it was from, but had that letter been decimated in the fire Brook would have been crushed, at least some part of her would have recognized that as she was too young then to know. So why was she so callous towards the pages before her? A strand of her dark brown hair fell over her green eyes as the wind tousled what it could of the short pinned up hair.
My Dearest Brooklyn,
Though you may wonder why you have received this letter from me all these years later, I thought it best that you may know some of your heritage, at least as much as I can tell you. I’m terribly sorry to have abandoned you like that, but I thought if everyone thought we were dead, they’d finally leave you alone and that’s all I ever wanted for us. I hope that nice officer down at the station found you faster than I anticipated. I sent him a letter as well that might shed light on much of the situation, but you will have to ask him for it, I told him to not give it to you until he thought you were ready. The Kaelins were such a nice family. They helped us out the moment we arrived in that town and I owe them everything for that.
Brook folded the letter back up and placed it next to her on the bench. "You have no idea Belle" she spoke out loud to herself. "They took me in too. You were right to trust them. They are good people. Always have been always will." She tilted her head towards the sun soaking in the bits of sunlight. She’d read that letter a million and a half times and yet still she could only get that far. Pathetic really, she hated herself for it, but two pages of writing and a third with a map, it was one mystery she didn’t really know if she ever wanted to solve. What would happen if she found out the truth? Her life was quite good right now. She had gotten to experience parts of the world that people dream of, she helped save diplomats and solved some of the most difficult cases of her life, but she couldn’t read the letter. "You’re afraid of a letter. I never thought I’d see the day that Brooklyn Raziel Corin Kaelin would be afraid of something and of course it’s a ridiculous letter." She picked it off the seat and squeezed it in her hand, one of the delicate pages ripping. Walking straight over to the trashcan she held it above the hole. "I could live my life normally, I could just go on like everyone else, but" she pulled her hand back and pressed the letter to her chest letting out a deep sigh. Tucking it inside her bra she began to walk the route back to her flat. The sun was almost set and the hazy orange of the world around her gave her some peace. Until the bell rang in her head as a scream echoed across the park. "Give me all your money!" a deep voice shouted. Sliding her gun from the holder strapped to her thigh she let out an exasperated sigh. "Never a day where I just get to relax."
