Where Your Abilities Fall
The Character Talents
::STRENGTHS::
1.Fast, fit, flexible, agile
2.Quick learner, adaptable to situations
3.Can work well with others
4.Quick logical thinker
5.Good memory for city layouts and a good sense of direction
::SUMMARY::
For his whole life, Ethan has had naturally athletic talent. Not overly strong, he was born quick, agile, flexible. In high school, regular training and sport doubled his abilities, making him faster then your average human. Regular sport has other perks as well. The ability to adapt to your opponent's strategy and to work with other's are vital, and skills that can be used in all aspects of life.
Ethan's risk taking lifestyle continuously brings him to the rough city centre, causing him to explore not only the crowded main streets and clubs, but to search alleyways, tunnels, anywhere possibly dangerous. Constant exploration has gifted Ethan with a strong memory of the city's layouts, helping him move to point B from almost anywhere.
::WEAKNESSES::
1.Inexperienced and young
2.Little experience in actual fighting, save for a few drunken bar fights
3.Zero skill with weaponry, be it knifes, blunt objects or guns
4.Lacks the raw strength of other humans
::SUMMARY::
Separated from danger is obliviously a desirable place for a child to develop, but it does mean that one suffers under difficult situations. Ethan grew up in a city where the worst of his problems was the occasional school bully, hardly a difficult childhood. The danger of New York excites him, but it's all a new experience, and he has yet to learn all the skills of surviving, or the difference between dangerous and stupid.
Rugby training and movies can't teach you everything. The sport kept him fit and agile, but he never learnt to use weapons, and a few fights in the bars and clubs of New York taught him very little about hand to hand fighting. This isn't helped by his lack of muscular strength. The training kept him fit, but it never focused on making him as strong as he could be.

::SUMMARY::
Ethan is a tall skinny boy, yet fit and somewhat muscular, although this can be hard to tell at times as he mostly hides his body under long sleeve cloths. With his longish hair, the clothes make him blend in better in an urban setting, while at the same time he has a vague nerdy look to him. He's moderately attractive, although by no means a model, or self-conscious about it.Personality is EverythingHow They Might Act::LIKES::

::BLESSINGS::

::SUMMARY::
When asked what he values most in his life, Ethan would reply freedom. Freedom to live life and make choices, and the freedom to not be judged for doing such. He is not a hypocrite, and will fight for others to enjoy this same freedom as well as himself. Ethan generally has no problem with others and the choices they make or their personal beliefs, unless said choices dictate the lives of other people. Politicians, teachers, police, bureaucrats, he will openly rally against against the control that these people have over how people live their lives. Regulation and prohibition are his lifetime enemies, as is anyone trying to convert him spiritually.
Always a nerd, Ethan loves fiction, especially science fiction and fantasy. He enjoys passing time during the day as reading, watching movies, playing video games or tabletop games. A favourite past time of his discussing his favourite fictional universes with other fans and socialising.
That said, he also enjoys sport. Never particularly strong, he loved to run, and to test his speed and agility against other people. During his childhood in Australia, he trained as a back in rugby, one of the lighter faster players on the field. He was also rather good at it.
At night, Ethan can turn into a completely different person. He loves to go out, to socialise, to drink and take risks. The black sky brings out the part of him that loves danger, the part that will buy a fake ID and take him to dirty overcrowded nightclubs in the city's centre. Occasionally, his love of risks takes him briefly into the wrong side of the law, but never for long and never futher then minor thefts and trespassing.
Ethan's carefree, risk loving nature has negatives of course. He hates being made to get up, the responsibility of work or being expected to be somewhere. But his attitude does make it easy for him to make friends, for he will almost never judge someone or condemn them and usually finds a common interest, and he is usually quick to trust them, if it be safe to or not.

::HISTORY::
On the 14 of April, eighteen years ago in London, UK, Ethan was born a healthy child to parents John and Mary White. The child stayed in London for a total of six months before the family travelled by plane to sunny Sydney, Australia. The middle class family never struggled to survive, but they never had anything given to them ether, the father working most days of the week to provide for his at-home mother and child.
Ethan started primary school at age five. He worked hard, following the school rules of the most part. His family was never religious, his parents never took him to church or Sunday school as they were both atheist. Towards the end of his primary school years Ethan's mother received the occasional phone call home from Ethan's teachers over his continuous challenging of some of the school rules, those which barred him from completely exploring the school's grounds in areas hidden by trees or which prevented him from playing outside without a hat. Ethan mother always told him off for arguing with his teachers, but he was never punished beyond that.
At age 11 he moved into year 7 and his first year in high school. For Ethan, this was a completely new experience. Never the strong type, Ethan found himself one of the smallest in a crowd people much bigger then him. Always the logical thinker, he excelled in grades but became an outcast amongst his peers, bullied and with only a few not very close friends. He hated his first year and the school in general.
In the second year, students were made to choose a sport as playing was compulsory. Ethan, not making it into his selected sport, was thrown into playing touch rugby with a ragtag group of other students. Surprisingly, he excelled, and found himself not only doing well but truly enjoying himself, taking advantage of a agility he never knew he had. Offered a place a year up in their regular rugby team, Ethan jumped at the opportunity.
At first, Ethan did not fit in amongst the team, an outcast there and an outcast generally. But as the months passed and they trained and played together, a respect between the younger player and the other 14 boys developed. Ethan, for the first time since he started high school, had a group of people would stop to talk to him, that didn't ignore his every action. They weren't close, but it didn't matter.
By 15, Ethan was developing into a young man. He developed a love of fiction and games, a passion that his rugby friends did not share. Regardless, he would spend large amounts of time socialising with them, and enjoying it immensely. The other hobbies he undertook alone.
Ethan's first girlfriend was a girl called Bethany Johnson, a date set up by a friend, very good looking and, well, stacked. Ethan was instantly attracted to her, and the pair started dating. He took her to movies and out for food. But they never really connected. She never enjoyed his passions and they grew bored of each other's company quickly. The two broke it off after only a few weeks, wanting someone more in line with his interests, someone he could talk and relate to.
Ethan's friends were all a year above him, and as such they all left a year before him. School for them was over, and they all choose their own paths. The team disbanded and they rarely saw each other, and never all at the same time. Through his last year Ethan made a few friends, but never found a group to socialise with like the team. At the end of that year Ethan decided to travel, heading to stay with his cousin Rodney who lived in New York.
Rodney White met Ethan at New York's airport, from there he took the two back to his apartment in one the cities outer suburbs. Rodney himself was 20, and like Ethan just out of high school. He is a manager at a local computer hardware store where he got Ethan a job in customer service where he is the youngest in his department so they can split the rent and bills. Living together, they see alot of each other, and are becoming quite close.
However, Rodney has his own social circle of which Ethan is not a part of. Knowing no one, Ethan ventured into the city centre one afternoon to "get a feel" for the new environment. The first thing that hit him was just how huge this place was. Sydney was a big place, but nothing compared to the vastness of New York and it's towering centre. New places however, become disorientating, and he became lost. The day's sky turned to night. It was at night New York truly lit up. The city that never that never sleeps after all.
Alone, without communication, and desperate to get home, Ethan but across central park, tripping over a mysterious figure in the shadows under the trees. He never saw it's face, but it attacked him with an absurd agility, knocking him down before he could react. Scrambling, he found a metal pole littered nearby. Ethan swung at it, pure luck letting the pole hit the figure in the temple as it came around for another attack. He fled quickly, adrenaline carrying him away without looking back.
Ethan finally found his way home an hour later. A dozen questions came to him mind, but he didn't feel like answering them. Instead, he thought of the thrill of the night's experiences, the adrenaline, the fear. He began to seek it out, buying a fake passport and travelling back into the city at night, visiting in dangerous clubs, under-age drinking. He attracted the 'wrong' kinds of people - on purpose. Anything to get that thrill. But he somehow always managed to get home in one piece.
Ethan currently still shares the two bedroom apartment with his cousin Rodney, paying his share of the rent and bills working at his customer service. What money he doesn't spend he wastes on expensive games or movies, or on his almost nightly trips into the city centre's party district to make use of his fake ID. Ethan thinks little of the future, choosing instead to always live in the present.

Bright street lights illuminated the busy street, casting a blanket that hid the night's black sky above. Ethan staggered along, bumping shoulders with youths who walked the other way. Rodney had been out, so Ethan had decided to skip the boring night in alone and search for excitement.
The young man turned off the street into a blackened alleyway, bringing himself to a pause for a moment and giving his eyes time to adjust. For a moment he couldn't see anything, until the tight confines of his shortcut revealed themselves. The alley was narrow, littered by bins trash and puddles. He brushed his hand against the stone wall beside him.
Ethan thanked the alcohol in his blood stream for nullifying his sense of smell, for he knew the ally must have wreaked. As he transcended the passage, the huddled figure of a man crept out of the darkness, lying in the middle of the path. Ethan could make out the faint outline of a knife in the bum's back pocket, and carefully stepped over the man as not to wake him.
Stepping out of the shadows and into another street was almost blinding, violently penetrating his eyes. Blurred vision quickly returned to normal though, and he turned right, following a path he'd travelled several times. He glanced at his watch.
'Midnight,' he thought, 'still early'.
The clubs bouncer was a large man, thick arm's folded across his chest. His bulky body blocked the entrance doorway. Pounding music could be heard over his shoulder. Ethan straightened himself, whipping his ID out to show the man. His fake ID.
With a nod, the bouncer stepped aside, allowing the younger man though. With a smile, Ethan passed into the building, observing the flashing lights and dancing patrons. His first move was towards the bar.
For Ethan, the night had just begun.
