Anyway... Isn't there some kind of law to prevent plagiarism on such a profitable scale? Has no one considered suing Mr. Paolini?

Saying it has Star Wars' story line, a bunch of LOTR stuff, and what knot isn't going to cut it either. Unless they bring dude and dude's father back from the dead. |

Meh... fair enough. I shall content myself with the fact that the film had dreadful reviews. Maps: Paolini's ~  And Tolkien's ~  They only seem vaguely similar at first glance, but have a look at which countries are where, and so forth... For example, compare Gondor and Surda, Mirkwood and Du Weldenvarden, Eldor and the Sea of Rhun, the Brown Lands and the Hadarac Desert, Isenstar and the lake at Arthedain... Also compare that the heroes in both come from places in the North-West. There's more, but I cannot currently be bothered to type it all. |

Haha! Then I will take the time to type it. Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, here we come!
A teen, or, young adult if you will, is the main character. With no parents being raised by his uncle. Luke, raised by his aunt and uncle. Frodo, raised by uncle Bilbo. An item of great power. Luke, the force and his father’s light-saber. Frodo, the ring, which though it wasn’t Bilbo’s was given to him by Bilbo. An egg of a dragon… yeah…
This one isn’t so much LotR, but most defiantly Star Wars. Eragon has to fight the only other dragon rider left, because he’s the corrupt bad guy. Turns out to be his father. I read the first two Eragon books… little obvious that the bad guy was his father. And the hidden rider turned mentor killed part way through training… the old guy that finishes the training… Obi-Won and Yoda have new names now. Haven’t read the last book, don’t feel I need to.
Another Rings! Frodo and his cousins get separated, but still fight on the same side. Eragon and his cousin… hm….
And let’s do names. Eragon. Gee, that doesn’t even remotely sound anything like Aragorn.

Yeah.... Whoever tried to sue would have a fun time with this....
Never seen the film. Never plan on seeing the film. I'll stick with Man On Fire even though I've probably seen it a million times.
