Calliope sat up in a rush with her heart racing and noticing that she was sweating. Her breathing was strained and her head was spinning. "Damn it, not again" she thought as she placed her hand on her forehead. She was running and slight fever and sighed. She looked around and remembered that she was still in the apartment she shared with her older brother and her father. They were both asleep in their rooms.
Calli knew she wasn't going to get back to sleep so easily so she got out of bed, got dressed and went for a walk. She was dressed in baggy jeans and a Nickleback band tee. Her long hair was flowing in the breeze that was in the morning. It looked about ten in the morning and she sighed heavily. Having the life of a hunter was hard. She wasn't used to getting up and working all night and sleeping during the day. After all, she was still a 17yr old kid and wanted a normal life. But she would never get that after the hell that vampire put her through.
So she made it to Central Park and sat down on a bench. She tried to remember what she had dreamed about just an hour ago. so she closed her eyes and scanned her head. She had dreamed about seeing two people. One was amazingly attractive and had bat wings with a patch over his eye. The other who was just as attractive had grey hair color and didn't look over a year or two older then she was. They had both come up to her and one of them was intrigued and yet the other was put off.
Calli didn't know what was happening to her. Her dreams were always wonky and weird like this. She would always tell her Dad about it and he said that it was a sign from the Gods. That she has a special ability that made her dreams predict the future. Well Calliope didn't believe in that foney-bologna crap. She placed her head on her knees and closed her eyes.
"Just give a few minutes" she thought to herself as she closed her eyes. But a crunching of leaves woke her up and she was shocked by the person standing not ten feet away from her. Her eyes shook in fear and anticipation of what was to happen next

Enter the lion, the cold and taciturn youth who had only his blade and heart to guide him. Leon Belmont, last of the legendary Belmont clan of vampire hunters emerged into the park, brilliant emerald green eyes sweeping his surroundings. He was only nineteen, but seemed so much older by the way he acted.
He was dressed as normal, dark jeans, black boots, white tee, jacket and gloves. His right thigh had three leather bands around it, hiding various supplies, and he had two leather belts crossed at his waist to create an X form. His jacket was black, with a faux fur collar of white feathers. Black wrist length gloves, and a silver necklace of a lions head open in a defiant roar.
He had his two weapons on him, ready for another fight at any time, his coiled heirloom whip, and Lionheart, his gunblade. Lionheart was resting at his side opposite of Vampire Killer. He had entered the park for a walk to clear his head, preparing himself to clear the vampire den he'd found.
His brown hair swayed in the breeze, bangs before his eyes. He was tanned nicely, and had a myriad of scars hidden by his clothes. The only noticeable one being a long and deep one from above his right eye to beneath his left. A remnant and lesson. He stops as he notes a woman watching him, almost his age, wondering why she'd focused on him, and was alone. A vampire perhaps?

Calliope began to shake slightly. She knew him but didn't know his name. He was one of the boys from her dream; in her dream she had seen him perfectly from his clothes, to his weapons to that cute scar on his face. She had no idea why this was happening to her. She didn't usually have dreams that came true. But lately they had been more and more detailed and unique and each and everyone of them came to pass against her wishes. Ever since the one she had about her mother and siblings.
So as if in a trance she stood up from the bench and noticed the difference in height for the two of them. He couldn't have been more then a year or two older then her. She wanted to take a step towards him because something about him was drawing her to him like a moth to a flame. She managed to barely take a step when she saw his weapons. A huge gunblade and a whip. She took a step back from him and began to shake again.
"Why am I so scared?" she contemplated as she wrapped her arms around herself as a breeze blew by and blew her hair into her eyes seemingly hiding her expression and blush. Now why in the hell would someone like Calliope Serrano blush at the most inopportune time like this. For one she was embarrassed that she was shivering like a maraca and also the fact that she had basically had a dream about an amazingly attractive boy and here he was standing in front of her.
It also helped that his emerald eyes were staring at her and they seemed to make her heart race and soar for some reason. So she stood up straight and looked at him. "What's with your weapons? Are you...some kind of hunter?" she asked kinda boldly for someone like her. She looked at him with a serious yet scared expression waiting for his response. "Please, don't hurt me" she thought and managded to whisper unbeknown to her

Leon watches her, taken aback by her actions. First she stares at him in shock, then steps towards him, then recoils and blushes shaking. What the hell? He waits patiently as her question finally emerges, and he waits a further few moments before responding. He was trying to figure her out, not many, other than immortals and other hunters, knew about hunters. Either she was an immortal, doubtful by her actions, or a hunter, doubtful by her appearance.
"My name is Leon Belmont, the last of my clan of vampire hunters." he says, his voice deep and authoritative. He remains standing before her, crossing his arms over his chest as he watched her. He was still trying to figure her out afterall. "And who might you be? Not many know the truth to our world. Are you an immortal? Hunter? Or merely unlucky enough to know?" he says after a moments pause, wondering what the day had in store for him already.

As he introduced himself she seemed entranced again. Not by his mere presence alone but of his words. "You're a hunter as well?" she asked in shock. She then got control of herself and remembered that her father had talked about the Belmont clan before and how there was only left. She had become sad at that moment.
"I come from a clan of vampire hunters as well. We are the Serrano clan from Egypt. I am the youngest of five" she told him, taking a step towards Leon. She raised her sleeve and showed him the tattoo that everyone of her clan bore; an Egyptian eye with a Celtic circle in the middle of the eye. She then finally looked him in the eyes. "Yes, my father spoke of you and your clan before. I'm sorry that you're the last of your clan; it must be a very lonely existence for you" she spoke as she gently placed her hand on his arm.
"My name is Calliope"she spoke as she smiled at him

He pulls back from her touch, shifting his weight to his back leg to not be so obvious about it. He shrugs then, "In the end, you have only yourself to depend on. Last or no, I would be alone." he remarks. His emotionless eyes took her in, recalling very little on the Serrano clan, save that most had a special ability.
"The Serranos are known to me, and the fact that most of you have some sort of precognition." he continues, still watching her. "You dob't look like much of a hunter, are you still in training?" he queries, comparing her current experience to his own at her age. It was a great divide between them, and even only a couple years older than her, he'd already slayed countless vampires.

When he spoke of being alone she lsitened carefully. She then smiled as he said the last part. "You're only half right. It is true that you only have yourself to depend on. But you're wrong about being alone. It is hard for anyone to not have any contact with others. I wouldn't be able to stand it if I didn't have anyone in the world" she told him with a smile yet sad eyes.
They then began to shake when he spoke of her clan. She then rubbed her arms slightly. She couldn't seem to look him in the eye after that comment. "That is true. Most of them did have that ability but now those are lost. There were seven of us." she then looked up at him. "My father, brother and I are the only ones of our clan left. My dad has a special ability. It's called aura reading. He uses it to distinguish vampires and werewolves from humans." she explained
"Yeah, my father was one of the best hunters in the world. He trained my siblings and is now training me reluctantly albeit. He's stuck in a wheelchair so mostly I'm taught by Ra, my older brother. I'm still new at it and am reluctant to hunt. I'm not used to it as much as my other siblings were. They were raised and I was the one kept out of the loop. But then-" she trailed off as tears stung her eyes. She wiped them away; she swore she was not going to cry in front of some boy she had just met but dreamt about. "I'm guessing you heard of what occurred to my clan?" she asked him
She shook these thoughts from her head by shaking it as her hair flew into her face. "And you're not alone in this world. You have me now" she sang as she smiled at him. For some reason Calliope was drawn to Leon and was reaching out to him. She usually did this to people because that was just how she was. She just hoped that she didn't push her away. But even if he did she wouldn't give up. She especially loved his eyes and how they seemed to sparkle

He chuckles, "Got you? I've only just met you, and you so readily expect me to open up and let you in? A folly of a human, un befitting of a hunter. You trust, you die. Everyone will betray you, in a hunters life, their is no room for friends, trust, or love." he utters, his truth as he knew it. He'd heard only rumors of her clan, almost guaranteed to be more than she'd heard.
The Belmonts had once been the most feared of Vampire Hunters, before they just vanished into the annals of history. Everything he knew had been taught to him by his father in the harshest manner, before he left his clan at ahe fifteen. His life had been one big betrayal, and his heart bore the scar for it, making him cold and distant.
"I know only a little of your clan, enough to get by should it ever come to conflict. I know they were considered almost as good as the Belmonts, but no one could ever prove who was better, as we lived in seperate regions." he continues factually, shrugging his shoulders. "Your clan must be in desperate need, to try and train you now, as opposed from birth. Perhaps the time of clans are over, and we must all make our own path." he ends thoughtfully, reflecting on the words as he said them.

Calliope just looked at him in defeat. He must have been taught at an early age that you could only depend and rely on yourself. That others only got in your way. And she pitied him for this and he reminded her so much of Ra; he seemed like he had never know anyone outside of his family or even made a friend. But his words cut deep for someone she had just met. She was a bit hurt by his words but didn't dare show it "You are entitled to your opinions but in my thoughts you are wrong."
"Because hunters rely only on themselves and do not trust others this is their downfall. They do not share information with other hunters and just keep to themselves. What if for instance they were ambushed by a pack? If they had bothered to share information with others then he wouldn't have been alone and wouldn't have died for nothing" she stated as she looked away from him. "I know that I am young and probably don't know what I am talking about but I think that way hunters act is wrong and reckless."
"There is always room for friends, trust and love in your life, regardless of being a hunter. My father married a hunter and they had children who were hunters. If hunters back in the day had trust and friends then maybe they would still be alive now. Or maybe if they opened up more to others then they wouldn't end up dying on the streets like bunch of dogs! For what?! Some stupid vampire who will end up living through the battle because unlike hunters they have allies!" Calliope yelled as she began to shake with anger.
She sighed as she glanced away; ashamed at her outburst. "I am only a hunter because it is my birthright. I have no choice in the matter. Because of what happened to my family I was suddenly thrown into this fast paced world of hunting. I can't seem to keep up with it; I don't have the heart but it is my destiny. This is not the path I chose for myself. But my family is everything to me so I must do what I must to keep my brother and father alive. They are all I have left in this world" she sang as she looked sadly at the sky.
"You're wrong; it is not a folly of a human to trust others and open up. It is what makes us human; if we lose this ability to connect with other humans then how are we to tell ourselves apart from the monsters?" she asked him. "As for me it is true that you just met me. I don't expect you to open up to me. I haven't earned your trust or even deserved it. But you should know that I won't give up. I'm not going to stop until I've earned your trust because I know you need someone to open up to. Whether you admit it or not."
"Because...for some reason...I know you're worth it. Please believe me" she told him and gave him a sideways glance. She then smiled sweetly at him as she gently stroked a crystal mosaic necklace. The sun hit it just right and then on the ground the reflection shimmered onto the ground

He shrugs at her outburst, icy eyes boring into her. "There is no such thing as destiny. We all have free will and carve our own paths. This path was thrust upon you, but you can easily find another path to help your familly. Did you consider medicine? A field medic is invaluable to any hunter. An armorer to forge and repair arms and armour. A scout, a strategist. Combat is not for you, you have neither the build nor mentality, you'll only be a liability as you are." he says harshly.
He continues on, "We do not die for nothing, we die fighting for our ideals. It is hardly a pointless death. And each hunter is different, I've worked with many over the past five years, both human and vampire, but you can't always depend on them to come through." he says with another shrug. He brushes a hand across his scar, reminiscing on his old lessons. He debated on telling her about his life, but it was pointless. She didn't need to know, and it was unimportant.
"If you are determined to be a hunter, then give up that soft hearted mentality. It will get you killed. Be kind to those you trust, be polite to everyone you meet, but always have a plan to kill them." he says, imparting but one of his hard earned lessons. He'd learned the hard way being soft could get him killed. He had the scars across his chest, ten, to prove it from the one time he'd grown close to a female.

"Really, we all have free will to crave out our own path? Well how are you supposed to do that if you're pressured and forced to do things you do not wish! I wasn't raised to be a hunter;t was thrust onto me when my family was slaughtered. I don't hunt because it is fun, I hunt because I am forced. I have no choice because if I did I would do something more meaningful with my life. But I can't leave my family." she explained to him.
As he gave her his advice she tilted her head at him. "That's funny, you sound just like my older brother. He told me that same things and where did it land him. Dead on a street" she spoke softly. "What ideals?! Either be like us or we kill you? That is a horrible way to go out and do things.
When he said if she wanted to be a hunter that she had to give up her soft-heartedness she sighed. She then looked up at him with a determined glance. "If I die it will be protecting someone I trust and love. Yes, I am kind-hearted and soft and a bit naive. But that just makes me strive harder to make myself better and prove myself. I've had a hard life all of my life but I have never once given in. I've had to prove myself to countless people and I've done it in stride."
"Haven't you ever wanted someone's acknowledgment so much that you'd do anything for it just for them to say that they are proud of you? Even if that meant running head first into a battle with no plan just to show them that you could do it? Because I have and I'm tired of being reckless to gain approval. Haven't you ever wanted something for yourself?" she asked him seriously as she thought of her father. He barely acknowledged her since she was a girl and that she was weak of heart.
Her eyes shook as she sighed. She didn't expect Leon to trust her and she didn't care. She trusted him...and that was all that mattered. If she wasn't supposed to meet him then why did she have a dream about him? So she would do what she could to make him open up with him and show him that having a soft heart isn't a bad thing. Plus, she started to notic that even thought his words were a bit harsh and his demeanor was cold and distant, she was starting to fall for him

He chuckles, shaking his head. "I don't need anyones acknowledgement. I get by fine on my own, and don't care what people think of me. I know the truth, and that's all that matters." he says, watching the sun as it began to set, a wind kicking up to whip his hair about his head. His emerald eyes sparkled as the night began to set in, a small half smile on his lips.
"Show time." he says to himself, looking at her again. "I must excuse myself for a while. Here," he says, pulling out a card with his name and number on it, "I have some vampires to clean out, so I'll be busy for the next couple hours. Call me if...shit." he pauses, suddenly alert and intent. The park had hushed in the twilight, nothing could be heard but the wind and the two young hunters.
"Stay close, and tell me you can defend yourself." he says, stepping in front of her as three figures emerged from the trees, making right for them, intent on the scent of the females blood. Vampires, the trio he'd been hunting had come for him first, but had changed their target when they smelled her blood.
He draws Lionheart, holding it before him as they advanced, eyes steeled and unblinking as one broke free and rushed them, almost making it past Leon. Almost. He pivots, thrusting forward as it reached for her, the silver blade making it hiss in fury as he tore it out to the side, spraying blood away from them, a quick flourish and another thrust piercing it's skull before he had to spin and deflect the two blades driving for him, pressing him hard. "Get out of here! Get back to your family!" he roars to Calliope, grimacing as a blade cut his side, blood oozing out and he fought hard to defend them, causing the blood to spread faster.

Calliope watched at the wind whipped his hair up because it did the same thing to her hair but it hid the expression on her face. It had been one of understanding and slight worry. As he cussed and told her to stay close she moved closer to him as her breath caught in her throat. She too saw the three figures and how they seemingly came out of the forest and she knew they were heading and wanted her.
The downside for Calli was that she had a rare blood-type so that meant that she was a frequent favorite for vampires and like a delicacy. "Yes, I can" she spoke calmly as she reached for her waist. In her baggy jeans she held two weapons. But she seemingly lost her focus when she saw the vampires head for her and nearly make it past Leon. As he told her to run and go back to her family her eyes shook. She didn't even have to be told twice and took off down the street.
But while running she thought of how Leon had gotten hurt because of her. She didn't know how good of a hunter he was or that he could handle those vampires. She also thought that a good hunter wouldn't run away and leave a comrade alone in a fight where they felt they wouldn't win. And she had run away like a coward. She clenched her fists into her palm and ran back as fast as she could. Hopefully he wouldn't be hurt any more then he already was.
She made it back there and saw that he was still in the spot he was surrounded by the two vampires. She then ran over to them and smiled. "Thanks but no thanks. I'm not going to leave you. I'm a hunter and hunters don't run away and leave their comrades" she said to Leon as she gave him a quick smile. She then pulled out what she had in her pants pockets. Two black and beautiful Desert Eagles shined in the moonlight as she aimed them at the vampires. Inside each round was a bullet made of silver and soaked in holy water. Which came up to that it would hurt like a bitch when it hit you.
"I'm not a quitter" she thought as she then with her extremely precise aim fired a couple of rounds at the vampires, one of them hitting them in the chest as the other hit it square between the eyes. The sight shook her up a bit inside but she didn't dare show it. The only expression on her face was pure determination and focus. She never once took her eyes off of the vampires or Leon

He breathes easier once she'd fled, taking that edge off him to protect her. He throws out brutal thrusts and slashes, keeping them at bay and opening up many wounds on them, the fight steadily going in his direction, before taking a terrible turn for the worse. He was fully devoted to the fight, with only the fight in his mind, reacting on instinct and training. They would have lost without another scratch on him, had she not returned.
His concentration broke in suprise as she suddenly spoke, and his momentum broke with it. They seized their chance as he paused, both striking deep blows. A long and deep gash across his chest and back, crimson covering everything around them as Leon roared in pain, dropping to the ground as she eliminated them both.
He lay on the ground, gasping in pain as he bled out rapidly, blood pooling around him just as fast, and his vision narrowed. He coughs up blood, forcing himself up to look at her, eyes filled with pain, rage, and determination. "Are you...alright?" he gasps out, before his elbow slipped in the blood, and he collapsed into the dirt, strength rapidly fleeing his body, and his vision began to fade. "I hope...you're unharmed..." he manages to cough out with more blood as he lost his grip on consciousness, fading into darkness.

When the vampires attacked Leon she had to shoot them quickly and without hesitation but as soon as she eliminated them she lowered her guns. She was shaking so much and just placed them in her pockets. Then she saw Leon covered in blood and ran over to him. "Leon?" she asked in worry. He was gasping in pain as he was covered in blood, most of it being his own.
She crouched down onto her knees as looked at him. Her eyes widened when he asked if she was alright. "Yeah...I'm fine. But you should be more worried about yourself" she squeaked in a voice that was unlike her own. She placed his head onto her lap as he looked at her again and coughed up a lot of blood. As soon as he said he hoped she was unharmed and lost consciousness Cali lost it. He passed out and she began to cry softly while clutching him to her body.
A thought came to her head as she stopped crying. She truly got a good look at his injuries. If she didn't get him somewhere and patch him up he would bleed out and die. So somehow but I think it was thanks to all the adrenaline pumping through her blood she was able to carry him to her home. When she got home she didn't see either her father or her brother. "Good" she thought. She then set him onto her bed and looked over his injuries again. "This is bad" she thought as she sighed. She then took off his jacket and his shirt.
Her breath caught in her throat as she saw all of the scars and marks on his chest. She then left him very quickly and went to the bathroom and got a rag, hot water, Peroxide, and tons of bandages and gauze. She pressed the gauze against his chest and back to try to stop the bleeding. So for the next ten minutes she applied pressure on both his back and his chest. Eventually the bleeding subsided and that was the hard party. So she took the rag and cleaned all of the blood from off of his body. She then cleaned his wounds with the peroxide.
She finally bandaged him up and sighed. That had taken a good hour and a half and hopefully he would be fine once he woke up. That is, if he ever woke up. She pushed these thoughts from her mind and then changed the sheets off her bed. There was no way she would be able to explain to the other about the blood on her sheets. So she took that along with his jacket and shirt and placed it into the sink; knowing she would have to wash that by hand to get all of the blood out.
She placed a pillow under Leon's head and watched him sleep. He seemed almost peaceful in his sleep as she casually pulled some of his brown hair from his face. "I'm fine, I'm just worried about you" she sang to him. Calliope then yawned and laid her head onto her arms. She had managed to get out of the fight with nothing but a huge slash on her hand from the gun. But it was wrapped up slightly as she laid down onto the side of the bed.
By now the adrenaline rush had worn off and she was dead on her feet. But she was going to watch him to see if he woke up or needed anything. Leon was sleeping on her bed while she sat crouched beside him and eventually closed her eyes and managed to drift off into sleep "Please...don't die on me like the others" she begged, speaking in her sleep as a small tear fell from her eyes
