ignite the light and let it shine Do you ever feel already buried deep It felt so good to get out of the house again. The air was cool, she had her new friend with her, and she for once was starting to feel normal again as she walked down the street, void of visible guards (they were always around somewhere). Anastasia didn’t know why they bothered to follow her around. Now that Daktari was gone they really had no reason, but whatever floated their bloat and made them feel useful. “Thanks for getting me out of the mansion for the day,” Anastasia said to her red-headed friend, smiling up at her. She’d gotten used to looking up at people since before she could even remember. “I hate being stuck there all the time, but I don't ever have anything to do, really. I know. . . I'm just a big loser.”
The sun had just started to set, and Anastasia had opted out of being driven by one of the chauffeurs, unsure if it would make Ginny uncomfortable being stuck in a car with a vampire or not. Walking was good for them anyway, wasn't it?
“It’s kind of cold, though. . . maybe we should have gotten a ride after all. Didn't think it'd take this long to walk out here.” she muttered, looking her friend over to make sure that she wasn’t completely freezing to death in the New York winter.
It was hard to remember that humans were sensitive to things like that when all you hung out with were vampires and were-creatures.

“Oh, I’m fine!” Ginny tilted her head back to expose the rest of her face from the multi-colored scarf she wore. At night, she always believed it was best to wear a few articles of clothing that will help you stand out, especially if you’re going to be crossing a street, “What I’ve got on is keepin’ me plenty warm, so we didn’t need that ride. Besides, you need to walk around away from the manor once in a while.” The red head tucked her face back into the cloth and she looked at the screen of her iPhone, which displayed a map towards the mall. They were only two miles from it now.
“Now, the big question is which film we’ll see. They’ve got White Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, The Santa Clause, Miracle on 34th street—“ a trash can fell over and spilled its contents onto the sidewalk. Out of a new reflex, she dove into her bag, pulled out a cross and shoved it out in front of her, half expecting a vampire to come out. Instead, a cat hissed and ran out followed by two more; must have been a territorial dispute.
“Ahem, you didn’t see that,” Ginny tucked the cross back into her purse and brushed her fingers over the holy water and wooden stake she had.

Alyosha emerged out of the hotel building he had spent the day in, and now stepped out with the sun already set. He did a big stretch and looked around, in the mood for something different. Normally he spent his time in Russia working as a member apart of Vampire Kiss, but today he was off and had some plans of his own. He was not really off, he just had not gone back to Russia to report in and get his next assignment. It could always wait, it was not like anyone else could do the job for him.
Alyosha wondered what to do as he began to walk the streets headed in any direction he sensed a human. He was in the mood for some blood tonight, human blood of course. He wanted good blood at that, not some drunks blood or a prostitutes blood. Their blood was easy to come by, and tonight he felt like being up for a challenge, not to hard. He didn't like to fully work for his food. He would much rather have it where they just offered themselves up to be food. Alyosha sensed a human along with a were of some kind. Thinking about the details was unimportant. He just cared about the human, the were could be a pet if Lady Natallia would let him keep it.
Alyosha used his vampire speed to rush over to his target but took to the roof tops, where he could watch from above. Then pounce on his prey like an unsuspecting little mouse. Alyosha could not help to crack a smile when he saw the human freak out because of some cats knocking over some trash cans. It was good that the human was not a little kid and the were too, he could not be involved with little kids, even if he himself looked like one. "I have an idea." Alyosha said in a low whisper to himself.
Alyosha then defied gravity and walked down the side of the building, making sure to stay out of sight and ahead of them. he then pulled out his violin case off his back and pulled out his violin and began to play. He even wiped up some tears if a little kid playing music didn't get their attention, then a crying violin kid should. He played a random sad song he knew off the top of his head, not really concerned about the song, knowing it would be good no matter what. He mostly focused on plans, stories, and backup plans.

do you ever feel, feel so paper thin Six feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing Anastasia smiled sheepishly and just nodded her head. “I. . . I know I do. I just never have anyone to go with. . . and I guess I’ve become a bit of an introvert lately,” she said, lifting a hand to pull her hair out from the collar of her jacket.
Ginny started to prattle off a list of movies and Anastasia cross-referenced them with the films she’d heard of and the ones she might have seen commercials for but never seen, and those that she’d actually watched before, but so far none of them seemed to tickle her fancy except maybe Miracle on 13th Street, but that was just because it was less childish than what she had already listed off—
As the girls walked past an alley they startled a pair of cats, and the trashcan they had been digging in fell over. Anastasia jumped at the sudden noise, but steadied herself after a moment. . . only to see Ginny standing there, cross in hand, holding it out like it was a lifeline. All Anastasia could do was stand there and stare at her for a few seconds, confused and bewildered until she put it away back in her bag. Why would she be carrying—
Oh. Vampires.
“Ah. . . I don’t think that’ll do much except make them laugh at you,” she said, not unkindly. It only made sense that the one with the most supernatural experience—well, the one who was supernatural—tell her friend how to prepare herself. “I don’t know if I should be telling you how to kill the people I hang out with though.”
Anastasia added a smile afterwards, showing that she was just teasing. She did hang out with vampires, but she was trying to make a joke. Probably wasn’t a very good one. “Anything more after Miracle on 13th Street?” she asked, wondering what other movies there were.
Music started to drift softly toward the pair and Anastasia looked around, undoubtedly hearing it before her human friend. The soft music led her to a child playing in front of them, but Anastasia furrowed her brow and looked around. Was he alone? It looked like it. But there wasn’t anything normal about this young boy. Spending twenty four hours seven days a week with vampires made her a pro at noticing when someone else was one. Something didn’t seem right about this at all, but it was just a child. . . . She was just being paranoid.
Gently, Anastasia took a hold of Ginny’s arm and tugged her a little closer to the edge of the sidewalk, walking a little closer. Ever since some vampire named Vicious—wasn’t that a dog’s name?—attacked her, she’d been wary of strange immortals, and she already knew Ginny didn’t like vampires.
Well, Anastasia was always wary of strangers.

"They'll laugh at me? Really? I thought vampires were naturally repelled from anything in the likeness of a cross," Ginny looked into her unzipped, black leather purse and pursed her lips, "Curse you Buffy for misleading me. Oh, wait, maybe it burns their skin if they touch it?" Well, if anything, she could try to stake a vampire with it!
"Oh, after Miracle on 34th Street, they have 'The Bishop's Wife', 'It's A Wonderful Life', pretty much all the Santa Clause movies, and a few oth-" Ginny stopped her sentence upon hearing someone playing a violin. Now, she wasn't one of those types who thinks right away that the source should be found and the artist admired; it's strange that someone would be playing in the streets of New York far from passing crowds.
In fact, instead of enjoying the music, Ginny's eyes widened and her heart began to skip rapidly. Her first attack was from a vampire who was playing the violin in the park, and this brought back terrifying memories. The canines, the blood --so much blood!--and the prospect of becoming like him: an undead.
Ginny winced and cupped a hand over her scar; she didn't tell Anastasia this part of the story and she might catch on right away that hearing the violin is what started the nightmare.
Then, she saw the source: a crying child playing a song on the violin. It was haunting, beautiful, and tugged at her tensed heartstrings. Anastasia hugged her closer, and Ginny knew then that it would be wise to continue on rather than stop to gawk. What if that child was a night-walker? What if--too many "what if"s always gave her a headache.
"Is that..." she whispered in Ana's ear, "...not human?"

Aloyosha continued to play his song even as they got closer, and he could tell that they were both hesitant. He let out a sigh in his mind thinking to himself that people were getting to smart today. He felt like his acting was pointless now, but the tears were real. He would make himself think of a past sad event or let himself be moved by his music in order to make himself cry. His tears may have aided in telling a lie, but the tear themselves were not lies. No he had to move onto his back up plan.
Alyosha stopped playing when he could hear their whispers of doubt and confusion. Alyosha then put on a child like smile and let the last of his tears stop falling from his eyes and slowly slide down his cheeks. "Did you two like my song?" Alyosha asked in his childlike voice as he still held his violin like he was still going to play it, but for now he was done. His back up plan was talk to them a little, make them feel safe. Displaying that he was just a little weird child looking for company. He looked the two girls over, getting an assessment of anything he could just by looks.
"Were you nice ladies going?" Alyosha asked still in his kiddish tone as he took a careful step forward. He did it smoothly and silently as to not startle them away. Like sneaking close to a little baby dear, you had to take it slow. His still was plotting more plans as he made sure to keep his innocence up. Most people would not just go right out and attack a child, even Alyosha would not do that. He could not kill a kid, or even really deal with them in person. He preferred to keep them at a distances for his own personal reasons. He just hoped his prey didn't get to smart for it's own good.

do you ever feel, feel so paper thin Six feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing Anastasia kept her head low, then looked up at Ginny as she spoke. They could figure out which movie they were going to see in a couple minutes. . . . Anastasia just wanted to make sure they got passed this vampire. He looked innocent enough, but Anastasia knew better. She looked innocent enough as well, but catch her at the wrong time and she was an oversized hyena that just wanted to eat.
She nodded her head and tried to keep from glancing at the boy with the instrument. “He’s not,” she muttered, sure that the boy could hear them despite their efforts. His quiet playing was like a whole orchestra in her ears, after all.
“Did you two like my song?”
Anastasia squeaked—literally squeaked—when the boy spoke, surprised beyond anything else that he had actually spoken to them. Didn’t they usually just. . . glare at you if you didn’t give them money? Or something? Maybe he was just lonely. . . . But. . . . It didn’t seem entirely likely.
Smiling sheepishly, Anastasia looked over at the boy and then up at Ginny. Everyone was always freaking taller than her. . . . “Ah—ah—y-yes,” she replied with a nervous grin her grip on her friend tightening for a moment. Anastasia always seemed to be extraordinarily in tune with how people were, and she was feeding off the uneasiness that Ginny was feeling, and she was getting very bad vibes from that vampire.
It wasn’t a super power, it was just Anastasia and her empathetic self. She had to know what other people were feeling to keep from getting beat up like normal. It was just how she survived.
She wanted to keep going, but her manners kept her from doing so. She stopped walking and offered the same nervous smile to the boy. “We’re. . . just going for a walk,” she replied, looking up at Ginny and wondering if it was okay to tell him even that much.

Now, it's following. There's no mistaking it now, he's definitely not human and Anastasia's discomfort was rubbing off onto her.
"Yes, it was lovely," Ginny clung to Ana's arm now while her other hand sank into the contents of her purse. If the cross won't work, then maybe the holy water will. Her thumb and forefinger grasped the cork firmly-it was only a matter of time before she'll snap and just dump it into that thing!
"We're walking," she confirmed and nodded, "just here and there. We like the city at night and so do many others. So, we're just going to go to the busiest part where, you know, a lot of people are."
Yeah, her fear was far too obvious. Again, she felt a discomfort where she had been bitten. It was entirely psychological, of course, but recalling such a traumatic event always caused it to flare. That bite did more than just puncture her jugular: it severed some muscles, badly damaged her skin and nearly severed a tendon--it required a few surgeries to fix but the pain still remained. Sometimes.

Alyosha changed his smile to more of a concerned look for the too, realizing that being friendly was not working out so well. They both showed so much fear, they had a right too, but he was being nice. He really loved that they were being so polite and not just running off. He now changed his plan to another back up plan, one that went to more on the caring side. That might ease the two of them, but he was unsure at this point. He never had to deal with this much fear before, but he normally didn't play with his food.
Alyosha also was not one to normally deal with a human and a were creature. On different terms yes, but together; this was a first. Alyosha felt it odd that a human would be afraid of him a small child and not a were creature that clung close beside her. Alyosha always thought were as such violent creatures, they turned into large animals after all. he never understood why people were always against the vampires. "Are you two o.k.?" Alyosha asked taking another step closer but did it even more slowly and carefully then he did earlier.
He felt like if he kept this up, he would be close enough to just go at full speed in for the attack and be guaranteed to not to miss. Alyosha felt himself get excited just thinking about biting his teeth into the scared human girl. he didn't know what he was going to do about the were creature, but he could always give the leader of Vampire Kiss a nice fur jacket. "Are you cold, hungry, or perhaps thirsty?" Alyosha could not help to add emphases on the thirsty part. He was having to much fun with this on the inside but he kept the little worried boy on the outside as he took another step closer.

do you ever feel, feel so paper thin Six feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing Even with the current circumstance, Anastasia could not help but to wonder what Kyla would do if she were here. Probably yell at the poor kid and tell him to get a family. Or a pet dog or something. She sure wouldn’t be acting scared. . . she’d be telling him off, yelling that she knew what he was going to do that he should think about it otherwise, before she decided to eat him.
It made her smile fondly for a moment, before she realized she had to stop thinking about Kyla. It wasn’t healthy to miss someone this much, to never let them go, let their memory rest. . . but she did, she missed her friend desperately.
The boy asked if they were okay, and Anastasia glanced over at him. He couldn’t be more than fourteen years old. . . . But he was so tall! Anastasia was used to being shorter than everyone, but when he looked so young and was so much taller than her it was unnerving at the least. “Ah. No, we’re fine. But thank you. Good luck with your playing,” she offered. “Wish we had something for you.”

Ginny wasn't liking this. The mental damages caused by her last encounter only served to make her heart pound restlessly against her ribcage, trying to break out. Adrenaline poured into her veins and prepared her body for the fight or flight. Her pupils dilated to take in more light, and the appearance of the "child" was much clearer to her. Alas, this only further upset her; he looked far too different to be one!
"We're fine," she replied in a firm voice. She stuffed the vial into the sleeve of her coat and removed her hand from her purse. It was almost unstoppered, the cork barely holding the contents in, and she could feel a few drops leak out into her awaiting fingers.
"Thirsty? Yeah, thirsty for soda at the local store which is where there's a lot of people. Ayup!"
Now she was just dragging Ana away from the freaky looking boy, "To the soda! And the sugar! We'll be up all night!"
All that adrenaline was making Ginny very, very hyper and it was really showing through in her behavior. Her speech was quick, her laughter was nervous, she was twitching and a little stronger than usual. (Feel free to attack her if you want in your post)

The two girls were starting to panic and getting all nervous and stuff, like they were about to take off running. Alyosha felt like he was a predator; so close to its prey, and he just happened to step on a twig. Stepping on the twig did not make the prey run, but it made it to difficult to get any closer without the prey running off. That was the best analogy Alyosha could come up with for this situation. It was no or never for the attack, so he moved onto his next plan. Revealing all and going all out.
"You to are smart creatures indeed. No doubt you have had encounters with my kind before." Alyosha said losing his childlike innocence the moment he spoke. He now spoke in a dark and deathly tone, more appropriate for his actual age. He noticed the human pull something out of her bag, he just figured it was just pepper spray. Sure it hurt for a few seconds, but it would not stop him long enough for them to get away so he would proceed with his attack. He put his violin away to make sure it would not get hurt and then put it on the ground where he stood.
Alyosha then used his powers over the wind to start up a slight breeze, flowing in his direction so he could better take in the two girls scent. He just need to figure who to attack first. The were and just knock her out and then kill the human. Or kill the human and make the were creature witness it, and then beg for her life. Both plans sounded good. "Sorry that I have to do this. My kind has to eat to, well drink. Your blood is like my soda." Alyosha said trying to comfort them in their possible last moments as he changed the wind patterned to flow in their direction. Then using his vampire like speed he went to attack the human girl.
(Thank you! Didn't want to jump the gun to early. Treating his violin would be the best way for him to leave you alone forever. He has revenge tendencies. ^-^)

"You to are smart creatures indeed. No doubt you have had encounters with my kind before."
That did it. Ginny freed her arms from Anastasia's and began to unstopper the vial of holy water to throw it at the vermin. I won't relive this, Ginny thought, not again, not again.
He was fast, and she didn't have enough time to react. The still stoppered object twirled in the air, free from the confinements of her hand, and clattered to the floor. The contents poured out onto the street, now useless like any other piece of trash littered along the path.
With a sharp "OOF!" she fell back onto the cracked cement, dazed and confused since the back of her head was struck.
Now, Ginny did what any other intelligent, terrified human would do in a situation like this: she screamed at the top of her lungs. She was far too much in shock to try to reach for her stakes and cross.

do you ever feel, feel so paper thin Six feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing Anastasia looked at her friend in concern, then at the vampire. Even she never handled situations like this with so much. . . energy! She might have been a coward, but at least she knew how to play it cool. Of course, Ginny wasn’t used to these kinds of things, but still. . . could she have been any more. . . forward about how scared she was?
“G-Ginny,” Anastasia murmured, tugging lightly at her friend’s arm. “Let’s just go.”
The vampire boy spoke up at that time, though, dropping the ruse that hadn’t been working at last. Anastasia stared at him for a second, then tried to hurry Ginny along, but her arm was wrenched from her grasp and Anastasia started as if she’d been hit. “G-Ginny!”
Before she knew what happened, the vampire had attacked her friend and the red-head was on the ground. The scream grated against Anastasia’s sensitive eardrums and she winced , shaking her head slightly. Well, Ginny had more sense than she normally did. . . . Anastasia was never able to do anything, even scream, when she was terrified. She had wanted to, sure, but she had never been able to find her voice.
But now she wasn’t the one being targeted. This was new to her, and she wasn’t entirely sure what she would do. She was used to being attacked, used to being the target of some violent attack. . . . Now it was her friend.
“Y-you l-leave her alone!” Anastasia shouted, unable to think of anything to do. “You c-c-can find your p-prey elsewhere!”

Alyosha was going to make quick work of finishing his prey when he finally did attack her. Being very thankful for the humans lack of grip on the container holding a liquid. Alyosha could tell it was holy water, just by the sense of it, and he was very pleased the red haired human girl did not get a chances to use it on him. It would not have killed him, but it was not something a vampire would enjoy; being splattered with holy water. The human had fallen back easily and had hit her head. At the rate things were going, he could have just scared her to death and then drank her blood. A dead person blood was not enjoyable, the struggle to live was.
Alyosha bared his vampire fangs and was going to finish her off, but she let out an ear wrenching scream. It caught Alyosha off guard and he ceased his attack to get back into the situation. Sure, he had victims scream, but that was after he bit them; but of course he normally sneak up behind them. Alyosha took a mental not to not play with his food anymore and then went to his knees next to the human. Leaning his head in with his mouth open ready for a bite at her next. The were creature told him to leave her alone, which caused Alyosha to stop.
He remained still on his knees next to the human but looked right at the were creature and gave her a look of death. The animal, telling him to leave it's companion alone. Why should he, this was his prey. A evil smile spread across Alyosha face as he chuckled at little. "Leave her alone you say? Find prey else where, you say?" Alyosha asked in his dark voice as he stood up slowly still looking dead at the were. He kicked up a wind going in all directions and always changing, he increased it's flow as well, in order to make it hurt. Alyosha then walked over to the were creature still wearing an evil smile, but e changed it to a more gentle smile.
"What are you going to do, nice lady?" Alyosha said in his childlike voice and behaved like a small child would, but this time he let the darkness within show. He felt like killing this were creature first, with it being all bold and all. He liked when people were bold, but when it came to his food, he preferred to be left alone. Sure he could go off and find another human, but after he went threw all this trouble. No, no, and no, he was going to finish the job, no matter what plan he had to use, unless something came up.
