Carmen just grinned when he dismissed her question. She knew, of course, she just wanted to see if he’d tell her. Men were well-known for thinking about only one thing and having their needs. It wasn’t the end of the world if he didn’t admit to it yet. Just because she was how she was, Carmen wasn’t sure if she’d quite allow that yet. “I do believe this may interfere with our working relationship,” he commented jokingly as his fingers gently brushed the area where he’d bit her. They hadn’t been deep enough to be any sort of danger, and they were healing quickly. As he started to kiss her neck again, she suggested “Well we could always just stop,” rather sarcastically, knowing that he probably wouldn’t want to. What working relationship did they have, anyway? After a few seconds, their lips were together again and Carmen returned the kiss with less force than him, for once treading lightly so she didn’t do something wrong. She wasn’t afraid of offending him or being rebuked for it, but she didn’t want to make this awkward. When he started to nibble lightly on her lip, Carmen’s first reaction was to part her lips. Any normal person might have been a little nervous if this was the first time they’d done anything like this, but Carmen was steady, just doing whatever her instincts were telling her.

Agito finally pulled his lips away from hers, and gazed at her. He didn't want to stop, but he knew it was a better idea than going to far on a mistake. He lifted her with ease and set her on the couch besides him. Agito took a deep breath, and laughed a bit at the situation. "Wanna go out?...To eat I mean I know a pretty good place, open all night great Italian food" he stated as he bit his lower lip wanting to feel hers pressed against them once more. Agito stood up and stretched a bit. "Maybe not since your already dressed for bed...perhaps i should go to the store and, purchase something to cook. We can eat up on the roof. what do you think? Do you wanna get dressed?" he asked curiously as he pulled his dark blue hair back into a ponytail and tied it with a string. He wondered how he looked with his hair like this. It wasn't like he could just look into a mirror and see for himself. One of the cons of being undead.

Carmen frowned when Agito pulled away from her and set her aside. She reluctantly let her arms fall from around him and sat back with a sigh. When he gave a light chuckle, Carmen gave him a reproachful look, wondering what was so funny. Before she could ask, he spoke. “Wanna go out. . . ? To eat I mean I know a pretty good place, open all night great Italian food,” he asked. Was he holding back? Perhaps he didn’t know how far she wanted to go and didn’t want to offend her? Carmen herself wasn’t sure how far she wanted to go. It was just one of those things that she hadn’t yet made her mind up about. Did she want to or didn’t she want to? She had all the time in the world to figure it out. As Agito stood, Carmen opted to remain seated for a second, sitting back on the couch with her hands crossed casually over her chest as she thought his suggestion. It had been a long time since she had been to an Italian restaurant, and some manicotti sounded nice. “Maybe not since you’re already dressed for bed. . . perhaps I should go to the store and, purchase something to cook. We can eat up on the roof. What do you think? Do you wanna get dressed?”
Smiling, Carmen got to her feet. She was getting a feeling that he was a little jittery—nervous, maybe?—and she wondered what exactly it felt like to be nervous, to have your stomach feel like it was doing flips inside you. . . . “I can go get dressed. I’d like to go out. . . . It’s better than sitting around like a lump,” she reasoned while walking past him to the room. It took her only a few seconds to strip and throw on some jeans—she decided to just leave her pajama shirt on because it was something that she’d wear, anyway—and then she was back out in the living room. Carmen let out a light chuckle when she saw Agito and she walked over to him and pulled the tie from his hair and nonchalantly ran her fingers through his locks. “I like it better down,” she smirked, walked toward the door and letting the tie fall around her wrist in case he was adamant about having his hair up. She stood by the door and looked at the two katanas sitting next to each other and tilted her head to the side. “I don’t think any restaurant would let us in if we were carrying these. . . .”

Agito looked at the swords for a moment quietly contemplating the thought. He'd never went anywhere without his Katana since the day he inherited it. It was unfamiliar territory for him, but it seemed that he had no choice. It would be safer here than ditched in a back alley somewhere. Where the chances of a bum finding it and pawning it off were a possibility. Besides if they were attacked he could defend himself without his sword. It was one of the first things he learned, and Carmen...when he met here she was just another back alley brawler so fighting without a sword wouldn't be a problem for her either. It just wouldn't be anywhere near as decisive. Finally Agito nodded in response. "I suppose your right....lets not make it a habit though" he responded as he held the door open for her and followed her promptly when she stepped through.
Agito closed and locked the door, and began making his way towards the elevator. He still wasn't a fan of the metal death trap, but Carmen didn't like the stairs. When they were in the elevator Agito hit the button for ground level. The door closed and the machine whirred to life as they began to descend. After a few seconds it jolted to a stop, and the doors opened revealing the lobby. They stepped out of the elevator and made their way out onto the street. "It's a few blocks from here" Agito stated as he began to walk in the direction of the restaurant. A few cabs drove by, but there was no point in hailing one. It wasn't a far walk, and this wasn't the kind of area where cabs picked people up at.

It seemed to take Agito longer than she had thought it would for him to decide whether or not to take his sword or leave it. She cocked an eyebrow and tilted her head as she waited for him to reply. Carmen wasn’t used to waiting for people, and she definitely wasn’t used to dealing with people who didn’t make decisions right away. Carmen knew what she wanted and she went out and got it, and it wasn’t hard for her to make decisions. Most people usually weighed the pros and the cons, but the cons didn’t bother Carmen like they should have. “I suppose you’re right. . . . Let’s not make it a habit, though,” he remarked after what seemed to be a minute or so. Carmen nodded her head, knowing that words weren’t necessary, and then stepped through the door when Agito opened it for her, but she first grabbed her jacket from the chair by the door and slipped her arms through the jacket to pull it around her shoulders. Initially, she headed for the stairs, knowing that Agito wasn’t a fan of the elevator, but he headed for it anyway. She paused for a beat, then shrugged and followed after him.
The pair didn’t talk at all until they got outside, but the entire time they were alone in the elevator Carmen just imagined them on top of each other like the movies until the door opened, and then standing there nonchalanty. . . . The door opened and Carmen followed Agito outside. “It's a few blocks from here,” he said. She nodded and followed after him. She sidled up next to him and did the first thing that came to her mind and reached out to take his hand as they walked, not looking at him and just smiling ahead like this was an everyday occurrence. If he wanted his hand back, then he could take it. Good thing about being vampires was that their hands wouldn’t get sweaty. . . . Oh how different she was compared to those months ago when she had originally met him. Back then she had never smiled, ever. Now she had a certain glow about her, and she smiled more often. When she was with Agito, anyway. The trend seemed to be that everyone else meant jack shit to her and didn’t deserve to see her smile.

There was a slight chill in the air tonight as evident by the occasional passerby clutching their coats tightly. Agito and Carmen weren't affected by the cold at least not in the way that a human would respond. They comprehended that it was cold, but their bodies would not react to it. When she took his hand Agito glanced at her for a moment, before giving it an acknowledging squeeze. Agito after all thrived on experiencing new things whether they were good or bad, and so far all of this was new to him. After a few blocks they crossed into a better part of town though not by much it was a major upgrade from the crappy part of town that they resided in.
There were a lot more people out and about in this part of town. Probably because the chance of making it to and from your destination without being mugged, raped, beaten, or killed was a lot better. Finally Agito stopped and since there fingers were intertwined, so did Carmen. "this is it" he stated looking up at the large sign that said Corleone's. Agito held the door open for Carmen, and reluctantly released her hand to allow her to enter. He followed right behind her. There was no one at the door because of the time. It was typically slow around now so almost every table was open. Agito chose the one near the window and held the chair out for Carmen. Motion to his left caught his attention as he shifted his gaze to see the waitress walking over with a pair of menus. Once they were both seated she placed the menus in front of them and asked what they would like to drink.

To Carmen’s delight Agito didn’t pull his hand from hers. She had always seen couples walking down the street or whatever holding hands, so she had figured she might try it, and it most definitely wasn’t unpleasant. Just that small bit of contact with Agito made her happy, and she wondered if this flutter was anything like the fear she always missed out on. Weren’t the feelings the same? Wasn’t that why people always recommended that you do something that got your heart pumping and why the people in the movies always seemed to fall in love after going through some form of hardship? Carmen had always wanted to know what it was that she was missing out on. The rush of adrenaline that came with the fight or flight responses. . . for Carmen it had always just been fight. Flight had never been an option for her no matter what was happening. The only time was when her mother and sister had been killed. That most likely should have been a very terrifying situation for a six-year-old, but she just watched. She knew that her mother and sister were gone and it had hurt and made her horribly sad, but she hadn’t been afraid. . . .
Agito stopped and with their hands attached, Carmen followed suit and looked at him, then at the building he indicated to. “This is it,” he announced. Carmen regarded the building for a second and logged the name, committing it to memory, and then followed him through the door, disdainfully letting go of his hand when she felt his slip. At least it didn’t look like they were going to have to wait. Of course, who was going to come for Italian food this late at night? They were seated immediately at a table for two, placing Carmen across from Agito as seemed to be customary. “I’ll just have a Pepsi,” Carmen replied when asked what drink she would have. The waitress got that look on her face, and Carmen narrowed her eyes. “I’m sorry, we only serve Coke products. Would you like—” Carmen lifted her hand to cut her off and shook her head. “I’ll take a root beer.” The waitress seemed a little put off by Carmen’s attitude, but Carmen hated it when there wasn’t any Pepsi. After Agito ordered, the waitress left and Carmen picked up her menu, flicking through the pages until she founded what she want, and her smile returned. “Manicotti! Well, I know what I’m getting.”

Agito opened his menu and began to scan through it while Carmen ordered here root beer. The waitress looked at him expectantly when it was his turn, up until the moment that the words "just water" left his mouth. She was a tad bit disappointed. Not only was the chick a bitch, but the guy was prolly a very bad tipper. The waitress nodded and scurried off towards the kitchen to retrieve the drinks. "Manicotti! Well, I know what I’m getting.” she stated. Agito continued to go through the Menu all the way until the waitress returned with their drinks. She set the glass of water before Agito and the root beer in front of Carmen then pulled out her little note pad and a pen. "Are we ready to order?" she asked cheerfully even though she obviously was not enjoying her shift. or Carmen's attitude for that matter.
"I'll have the Alfredo with fresh broccoli please, briefly steamed" Agito stated with a nod. He couldn't remember if he should order for Carmen especially since he knew what she wanted, but decided that he'd let her order on her own. After Carmen ordered and the waitress scurried off again; Agito leaned on his elbows on the table and smirked at her. "So this is kinda like a date right? Or am I doing this wrong?" he asked curiously. The western ways of courting a female were ya far cry from what he knew. He was royalty after all. He had other people who did that stuff for him in the past....before he killed them all.

When the waitress returned with their drinks, Carmen managed a curt thank you and immediately took a sip. Ahh. Sugar and caffeine. Perfect. Agito ordered, and when he was finished, Carmen informed the waitress of what she wanted. It had been a very long time since Carmen had had Italian food, and she was looking forward to getting her hands on that manicotti. She just hoped that they made it well. . . Carmen hated incompetence. She hadn’t spent much time cooking so she didn’t really know how, so those who could cook she expected to do it well. The waitress removed their menus since they had ordered and informed that their food would be right out. Carmen hoped so. . . they were only people there! Twenty minutes should be all that it took for their meals to get finished. Carmen watched the woman go sourly, then turned back to Agito and leaned back in her chair and crossed her legs at the knee under the table, elbows up on the back of the back of the chair.
“So this is kinda like a date right? Or am I doing this wrong?” Agito asked with a smirk. Carmen grinned and shrugged slightly. “Well it kinda really is. . . . I’ve never been on one but this is how it always goes in the movies and TV and those stupid reality TV shows. . . ,” she said with a flick of her wrist. There was some music playing in the background and Carmen tried to figure out what it was, but it was some sort of classic music. . . all instrumental. Probably to keep the customers calmer than if it was some rock music or something. This was an Italian restaurant. It might have been casual, but it needed to be quiet so that everyone could feel comfortable. “You don’t catch me like the date kinda guy though so we don’t have it to call it that if it makes you all nervous,” she teased, leaning forward to take another drink from her root beer. Carmen liked this feeling of being happy. She understood why she had never been happy before, though, and accepted it.

Agito chuckled when she suggested that they didn't have to call it a date. That was what it was wasn't it? There was no reason to pretend it was anything else. Agito took a sip of his water and peered out at the street. Ever so often people would hurry by on there way to their destination, clutching their coats ever so tightly to their body as they attempted to shield themselves from the cold. Times like this made it easy to tell who was actually human. Immortals typically weren't effected by the cold very much. The exception being shifters who's type are indigenous to warm temperate areas such as lions. Vampires were especially resilient against it.
"Do you remember what it is like to feel the sun on your skin? Can you describe it to me?" he asked curiously. Agito had asked this question of Carmen in the past, usually she just ignored it all together as if it was something that she wasn't comfortable discussing. Agito to another sip of his water, and focused his gaze on her rather than the people walking by the window. He felt naked without his sword. He was completely expecting some uppity hunter or pissed of immortal to pull something. Wasn't that the way things worked. When your prepared nothing happens, and the moment your not all hell breaks loose.

“Do you remember what it is like to feel the sun on your skin? Can you describe it to me?” Agito asked after a few seconds that seemed a lot longer than that. Carmen looked away from the people moving about in the kitchen and tilted her head. He had asked her once a question like that. . . only it was more to the effect what it was like to be human. Taking a breath, Carmen distracted herself by taking a drink of her root beer. She wasn’t sure why he cared, but of course he might be curious about something that he hadn’t ever experienced. Carmen couldn’t recall why she hadn’t answered him, but she supposed that at the time she had had a very good reason. But it was hard to describe a feeling. Her head tilted, she watched the small candle in the center of the table flicker with the slight draft that most buildings had. It gave her inspiration. “Well, it’s like standing next to a fire. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like anything, though. Like when it’s cold out, most of the time you just notice the frigid breeze or what have you.” She lifted her hand and held it over the small flame of the candle. “When it’s hot out it feels more intense.”

Agito listened to Carmen intently while she tried to answer his question. He figured it wasn't very easy to explain what the sun felt like to someone that had never and could never feel it for themselves. His eyes shifted to the small flame produced by the candle. That was all sunlight would ever be to him a fire that would simply engulf him leaving little behind other than ashes. "I see" he said finally his eyes shifting back to hers. He reached across and gripped the hand that was hovering over the flame in his own gently and smiled at her. "I don't need the sun when I have you." he said with a smirk before finally releasing her hand and taking another sip of his water. He figured their food should be out in a few minutes. Which would be good because he was hungry even if human food only took the edge off of hunger one couldn't argue that in terms of taste it was superior to even the best quality blood.

“I see,” he responded to her lame explanation about what the sun felt like. She kept her hand hovering over the flame, her head tilted slightly as she felt it warm her cold skin. Just because she was cold by default didn’t mean that she was going to be cold if someone set her on fire or if friction was applied. She looked up from the flame when Agito took a hold of her hand and she pulled their hands away from the flame in order to keep from getting burned and she gave his hand a squeeze, smiling at him. Never before had someone been able to make her smile as much as Agito did. It was something that was strange to her, but it was a good kind of strange. One that she didn’t want to lose any time soon. “I don't need the sun when I have you,” he commented with a smirk. Carmen rolled her eyes slightly and reluctantly let Agito’s hand go. Leaning back in her seat, she took her drink with her. “Where’d you buy that line? The ninety-nine cent store?” she teased with a grin, sipping at her root beer afterwards.

Agito frowned momentarily as her hand slipped out of his grip. Carmen teased about his comment, and he shrugged as he finished his water. "Come on you can't put a price on a line like that" he stated in response. A moment later the waitress returned carrying a large tray with their food. She set their individual plates infront of them as well as a bowl of salad and a tray of bread sticks in the center of the table. She beamed brightly at Agito, and refilled his water. "Enjoy your meal!" she stated before scurrying off to the back of the restaurant to clean a few tables. Agito reached for a tomato slice out of the salad bowl. He popped it into his mouth and grinned at Carmen. Before poking at his alfredo with his fork curiously savoring the scent that it was putting off.

“Come on you can't put a price on a line like that,” Agito responded. Carmen just grinned and rolled her eyes as she sat her glass back down. There was an unused straw sitting on the table next to her, and it would probably remain that way until she felt like throwing the wrapper at Agito. Before she could respond, the waitress came out with their entire meal. Weren’t you supposed to get breadsticks while you browsed the menu? And weren’t you supposed to get the salad before the entre? This waitress was just all around failing tonight. Knock another couple dollars off her tip! Of course, it was pretty late and the woman probably wanted nothing more than to go home and sleep. Not Carmen’s problem. “Careful, your plate’s a little hot,” she warned while setting the thing down. Carmen nodded her understanding and started to unwrap her silverware from the little napkin roll. It all clattered to the table and Carmen picked out one of the two forks for her salad and started to eat. Now that there was food in front of her, she realized just how hungry she really felt.
“Itadakimasu,” Carmen muttered happily before she dug in. She was in a much better mood now that there was food in front of her, and she all but ignored Agito while she ate. Though not a messy or noisy eater, Carmen didn’t eat slowly. She ate as much of the salad as she felt like before moving on to the lovely main course, grabbing a bread stick, tearing off a piece and lathering part of it with the sauce from her manicotti before taking a bite and moving on to the actual shells. Slowly, her drink started to get low and the waitress came by again with a refill, a gesture which Carmen thanked her for. A little quicker than it would take a normal person, Carmen finished off her meal and moved back to what was left with the salad—when the waitress had offered to take the little plate of salad away, Carmen had tried to politely decline, but it may or may not have turned out as more of a “stay away from my food, bitch” only, more eloquently spoken. When she was done, Carmen piled her plates on top of each other and set the silver on top as well. “I’m a lot hungrier than I thought I was. . . .”
