Agito watched as Carmen it, and couldn't help but stifle a slight chuckle. He took a few bights of his Alfredo and smiled, it was actually better than he had expected. He wasn't much of a salad person so he didn't care when Carmen pretty much inhaled it all. He bit into a breadstick, then followed it with another bite of alfredo and broccoli. Agito swallowed his food and wiped the corner of his mouth with his sleeve. At this point he still had about half his food left, and Carmen had already finished. She commented on being hungrier than she thought she was. Agito smiled and nodded "I would think so....did you count all your fingers?" he joked indicating that one or two maybe now had made it away from her mouth.
Agito took another sip of his water, and then finished off his Alfredo. "So theres a war going on around us, what do you think we should do? We can choose a side, or just stay in the shadows...It may be a good way to secure some reliable allies however" he stated casually as if a war of any sort was such a trifle thing that it didn't require much thought into how to proceed. Of course he wasn't worried. He had info on most of the major players in this thing, yet they knew not of him. The way he saw it he was at an advantage even if he defied both sides.

“I would think so. . . did you count all your fingers?” Agito teased, taking his own sweet time with his meals. Carmen was normally a fast eater, but she hadn’t ever wolfed down a full meal like this before. Usually she ate her entre, but nothing else got finished. She hated eating so quickly sometimes because then she had wait for everyone else to finish eating. It was just Agito, though, and she found that she didn’t mind sitting there, waiting on him. There were breadsticks, and she occasional plucked one out and nibbled at it. Rolling her eyes at his comment, she lifted both her hands and wiggled her fingers. “Why yes. They are all present and accounted for,” she responded with a slight smile, letting her hands fall back to the table where she picked up the breadstick she had started to eat. She stuck in some left over sauce from her manicotti and bit off a mouthful. They always tasted better with marinara sauce covering them.
Carmen looked up from the dessert menu she had started to look over when Agito spoke. “So there’s a war going on around us, what do you think we should do? We can choose a side, or just stay in the shadows. . . . It may be a good way to secure some reliable allies however,” he mentioned casually. Carmen tilted her head slightly and looked up at the ceiling, chewing slowly on her breadstick in a rather contemplating manner. A war? It seemed kind of strange to wage a war and think that no one would ever find out about their kind. Or perhaps that was the point? Carmen swallowed her bit and set the breadstick to balance on a clean spot on her plate. “I’m not really a team player, if you haven’t come to realize this already. I don’t know if we should choose sides, but I don’t exactly know what the sides are fighting for. It better not be one of those cliché good versus evil fights or else I don’t want anything to do with it,” she replied, leaning back into her chair. She opened her mouth to say a bit more, but the waitress came over to clear her plate.
Holding up her hand for the woman to wait a moment, Carmen loaded her breadstick with sauce and then motioned for the woman to take her plate. The waitress started to pile things on top of the plates, and when she lifted it, the serrated bread knife slipped in the sauce and clattered to the ground, but not before slicing a thin cut across the waitress’ wrist. It was fairly sharp, and the force of the fall had been enough to cut the woman up a tad. She swore quietly and bent down to pick up the knife, and a line of blood started to slip down her arm. Carmen hissed immediately jumped on top of the woman. She had just been mauled, and though Agito’s blood had gotten her through it, Carmen’s body needed more. The scent and sight of the blood oozing from the woman’s cut was too much. The waitress managed to get a sharp scream out before Carmen silenced her with a hard bite. The endorphins that Carmen’s saliva caused made the woman temporarily forget what was going on while Carmen just sat there, holding the woman still and feeding from the blood coursing through her veins, unaware that the hostess and chef were on their way to see what was going on.

Everything happened so fast that Agito didn't have a chance to intervene. His mind raced as he figured out the best way to deal with this situation. He quickly lowered the blinds in front of the window. They were the only customers at the moment so that was fortunate. Agito glanced towards the kitchen. He could hear he footsteps inside getting closer. He stood up quickly, grabbing the knife and bound for the kitchen leaving Carmen to her meal. The name of the game right now was information control. Agito stuck the knife into his back pocket, and stepped into the kitchen blocking the way of the man, and woman that were rushing to the front.
"Sir!, Miss! you can't go out there right now. I have to evaluate your situation" He stated in his most official sounding voice. The man tried to edge around him, but was stopped by Agito's grip on his shoulder. "What the hell are you talking about who are you? What the fuck is going on?" The cook yelled in anger at Agito who remained un-phased. "My name is Inspector Lee with the Center for Disease Control and prevention....CDC. The young lady out there she has a very rare and potentially lethal disease. My partner is tending to her now. I need you both to sit tight while I evaluate your potential for contamination." he stated content at the look of fear and shock that came over them when he mentioned a deadly disease.
Agito walked with them back to the break room and had them sit down. "Don't move from those seats...if you are infected the virus will spread through your system faster if you do...and if your not we don't want you touching anything that could contaminate you...especially a phone....don't use your cells either the radio waves make the virus hyperactive. I gotta grab my gear from the car...don't worry if you are infected I can administer an anti virus." Agito stated before stepping out of the room closing the door behind him. He figured that they'd figure out that they'd been tricked eventually. He made his way back out to the front and looked down at Carmen. He had thought that her level of control was beyond this, but it seemed that he may have had a bit too much faith in her abilities.
Agito gripped Carmen by the back of the neck and pulled her off the poor waitress who at this point had already lost consciousness from the loss of blood. Agito checked her pulse. She was still alive and would prolly recover unless Carmen pounced on her again. Agito looked over his shoulder at Carmen, and sighed. He took out a couple hundred and stuck em in the waitresses pocket, then took Carmen by the hand and led her out of the restaurant forcefully and began to half lead/ half drag her in the direction of the loft. After about 2 stoplights of walking he looked at her and asked "so what happened back there?"

Carmen wasn’t really aware of what she was doing, but with that blood flowing warmly down her throat, she ignored all else going on in the store. All she knew was that the blood tasted good and she was feeling better and better as more filled her. The blood she had taken from Agito hadn’t been enough. Normally Carmen was better than attacking some poor bystander and she was usually more picky about who she fed on, but her body demanded the blood and it had been more than she could bare. She was still rather young in vampire terms, after all. In the back of her mind she wondered what Agito was doing and what he thought of her now, but the majority of her didn’t give a rat’s ass at that moment. However, what seemed to be a painful few seconds later—but was really a few minutes—Agito pulled Carmen away from her prey and the woman slumped to the ground, unconscious. Carmen hadn’t realized the woman had been unconscious, and Carmen made a little clawing motion, trying to grab the woman. However, Agito tugged her away and out the door.
Agito’s grip was firm on her hand, and when the fresh air hit her, Carmen blinked a few times and looked around as if she wasn’t really sure what was going on. Her mind cleared, though, and she remembered attacking the poor waitress. Fortunately for the waitress, when she woke up, she would be the happiest person in the world for the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, what goes up must come down. Rock bottom would be horrible for the waitress. It always happened when she fed from someone. Carmen’s face fell as she thought about her foster mother who had died because of her, in a much similar way. She had to jog to keep up and make sure that she didn’t get her arm pulled out of her socket, and she felt like a child who had just been caught doing something naughty and was now being dragged to the corner. It took a little bit, and then Agito finally broke the silence between them. “So what happened back there?” he asked her. Carmen was unsure if he was angry or not. “What did it look like? I lost control and attacked that woman,” she retorted a little numbly, her usual edge dulled.

Her lack of care in the situation was surprising to Agito. After all she used to be human, normally there would be some sort of empathy for something like this. Instead she had "shit happens" attitude which was probably in character for her. Agito was annoyed mainly at the fact that they would be unable to eat at that place ever again. He frowned at the thought. "I see" he responded to her statement and continued to walk. Finally he released her hand content with the fact that she had came back to her senses.
Agito pulled out the knife from his pocket and examined it carefully. He had intended to use it on the two remaining humans at the restaurant if they hadn't fell for his rouse. Luckily for them they were gullible, but they were alive. Had they been smarter and asked to see his badge or something...He'd surely have killed them without a second thought. Unlike Carmen he had never been human, and because of that their lives meant less to him.
Thirty minutes or so passed before the loft came into view. Agito had been giving Carmen awkward glances for a while now. He wanted to say something but wasn't exactly sure what that something was. He decided that the best thing to do right now would be to keep quiet. Tomorrow however they would have to discuss this, and how to prevent it in the future. Agito took her hand in his gripping it firmly as they walked. Even that incident couldn't spoil this night.

Agito barely gave a response to her inner pain, but it didn’t matter. She didn’t need his comfort on this. She’d get over it just like she semi-got over killing her foster mom. The young vampire didn’t even really like the woman, anyway. It was just that Carmen hadn’t wanted to kill her. Her heart had been in the right place, even though it wasn’t in Carmen’s character to give a fuck about her. She sighed quietly and Agito let go of her hand, letting her walk of her own accord now. Carmen kept her head straight ahead as they walked, her pride not allowing her to hang her head. What she had done back there had been normal for young vampires so she had nothing to be sorry for, right? There was no need for to apologize for attacking that girl, therefore she was not about to. However, she was very aware that they probably wouldn’t ever be able to eat there again—except maybe in a year or so—and for that she felt a little bad. It was a good place. It had good food. “I’m sorry you couldn’t finish eating,” she said after a few minutes. There was something she should feel sorry for, and she choose this. Agito took her hand again, and Carmen smiled at him, having ignored his awkward glances. She squeezed his hand, glad that he wasn’t mad at her.

With a solemn shrug Agito responded to her statement without uttering but a sound. There was really no issue here. They hadn't been found out thanks to his quick thinking. Though he was getting pretty bored with this comfortable American living that he had been doing since he got here. Daily training had dwindled to on a whim training. The ruthless individual that he had once been had become tame. It probably wouldn't have been the worse thing if they had been discovered. Discovery mean hunters. Hunters meant no need to hold back. He would finally have been able to have some fun had that happened.
Agito tugged on Carmen's arm gently detouring them towards the park. "We have a while before the sunrise. Lets sit for a bit." he stated leading to the bench over looking the pond that he had been sitting at before (while she was missing) Agito sat down and patted the space besides him indicating that he wanted her to sit as well. He looked out at the lit fountain in the center of the dark pond. It was oddly soothing for some reason. Agito put an arm around her shoulders. "enjoy this moment....it quiet serenity...because tomorrow Training begins anew, and you'll long for moments like this before long" he stated without the usual hint of seriousness behind his tone that normally made it easy to tell when he was joking and when he wasn't.

For the longest time the two never said anything more. Carmen might have thought he was a little irritated with her, but his hand in hers dispelled those thoughts. Slowly, Carmen started to feel less and less bad about what had happened in that restaurant. She hadn’t meant to hurt the woman, but at least she was going to live. Carmen supposed that she should probably be thankful to Agito for stopping her before she had murdered the poor girl. And for keeping the others out of her way. She tilted her head slightly at looked at her friend—boyfriend? Ah whatever. “What did you do with the other people in the restaurant?” she asked him. She hadn’t been paying attention when she’d been feeding, so she hadn’t the slightest idea what had gone on around her. For all she knew Agito might have slaughtered them all to keep them from finding out. That was not the most welcome of thoughts, but probably would have necessary. But then why wouldn’t he have just let her finish off the waitress she had attacked? He must have told them something. She just didn’t know what.
Eventually, they reached the park that was a few blocks from their loft. Carmen felt a tug on her arm and looked at Agito, who was trying to pull her deeper into the park. She opened her mouth to ask, but he answered first. “We have a while before the sunrise. Let’s sit for a bit,” he suggested. Carmen smiled lightly and nodded, following him. “Okay.” He led her to a park bench and they both sat down. There was a pong out in front of them, and the surface rippled slightly as a leaf gently fell. Carmen rolled her eyes at how soothing and horrifyingly sappy it all was. However, she didn’t complain as she felt Agito’s arm around her shoulders and she scooted closer to him so that their sides touched and she moved her own arm behind him and around his waist. “Enjoy this moment. . . its quiet serenity. . . . Because tomorrow training begins anew, and you'll long for moments like this before long,” he commented lightly. Carmen looked at him dubiously for a moment. She knew he wasn’t kidding about the training part. . . but the rest of it? She scoffed and leaned against his arm and side, her legs stretched out in front of her and crossed at the ankles. “Please. It’s too quiet for my liking. Training would be welcome after getting used to just sitting around. You’ve completely ruined my exercise patterns,” she taunted.

The question of what Agito did with the other people at the restaurant came up. He gave Carmen a big smirk. "We played a game. It's called lets see how long you can sit here before you realize you've been had." he stated with a chuckle. There was a good chance that they were probably still sitting back there waiting. A deadly virus is a scary thing after all. Agito idly fiddled with a few strands of Carmen's hair as he peered out over the pond. Ripples on the surface gave away the position of a small school of fish. He had always wondered what it was like to life under water. One day he planned on actually going out and searching for the lost city of Atlantis. Even if it was just a myth like everyone thought it would at the very least occupy a hundred years or so of his time.
His thoughts were interrupted by Carmen's statement that he ruined her exercise pattern. He almost broke down in laughter at the thought. He had given her the choice of training on her own for months. Was it his fault that she didn't exercise like she should. Plus she ate everything she came across. if she wasn't a vampire she'd probably have put on a few pounds. "Whatever you snackaholic. Your the one that ruined your exercise routine" he teased back. Smiling broadly at her.

“We played a game. It's called let’s see how long you can sit here before you realize you've been had,” Agito replied vaguely. Carmen figured that meant he made up some story and tricked them into thinking something else was going on. There was an infinite amount of things he could have told them, and it irritated Carmen a tad that he wasn’t just telling her what he’d told them. However, he had that horrible way of making it so that she couldn’t stay mad at him for too long. He was a monkey wrench in her life for sure, upending her entire way of thinking of doing things. It only happened around him, though, and every time she always went back to the way she used to be when she was around strangers. It was bad for those people, but those people she didn’t particularly give two shits about. “Ah, so you used what wit you do seem to own, did you? Well I’m oh so very proud of you!” she teased with a gently nudge from her shoulder. Carmen was beginning to like this cozy little contact they had going, and she looked forward to more of it. If she didn’t go back to hating him during training; something that she didn’t think would really happen. But you never knew.
A horn blared several meters away, signaling the fact that someone had almost hit another person or had cut off some taxi or something. Even at this time of the night people seemed to be out and about and fucking each other over. “Whatever you snackaholic. You’re the one that ruined your exercise routine,” he retorted. Carmen rolled her eyes and shook her head. “That’s not true. If you weren’t so charming and likable I’d want to get away from you more often and would have a more set training schedule! But no!” she replied, waving her other hand through the air to emphasize her point somewhat. It was rather true. If she didn’t like Agito she probably would have been out doing training and practicing and getting more exercise, but that wasn’t the case and she actually liked spending time with him. “Besides, you haven’t exactly done much else than loaf around and watch TV! Maybe we should just get rid of the thing altogether!”

That last statement had been the truth. Agito had spent much of his time here in America simply watching TV. It was more for research than anything else however. He had a very inquiring mind. He simply had to know everything. The fact that he was immortal simply meant that he had lifetimes to reach his goal of knowing all there was to know about anything. At that point he could die happy. A death before that would be unfulfilling. It was why he had been so avid about his training in the past. He was confident in his abilities to the point that he probably could slack off for 100 years and still be a step ahead of most. "It's a possibility" he responded
Carmen however had a point. Maybe when they got back to the loft he would get rid of the TV. What would he do to occupy his time once that was gone. He wasn't too sure but there were a billion possibilities. They were going to travel weren't they? That was just a front for what he really wanted to do. He needed to meet with others like himself. Leaders within the vampire race. He needed to meet with them, and consider their potential. He needed allies but only those that were strong enough to pose a threat to him. those that weren't he would simply assimilate under his rule. That was the plan anyway. It was the initial reason for his coming to America in the first place. Only things changed once he got caught up with this girl. Agito gazed at Carmen for a moment before looking out over the pond again. He didn't regret it one bit.

“It’s a possibility,” he responded after a beat. Carmen grinned, interpreting that as him not wanting to get rid of the idiot box. Of course, Carmen herself had gotten a little caught up in it as well, but she blamed Agito for that again. She’d never wanted to be around someone before, and she wasn’t quite sure how to handle it quite yet. Her grip around his waist tightened slightly and she held herself closer to him and closed her eyes, content to sit there with him like that, her head on his shoulder. He made her happy, and Carmen hadn’t felt happy like this in a very long time. Since before her family had been torn apart at the seams, even. She wasn’t ready to let this feeling go. The meditating he had made her do at the beginning of her training had calmed her down immensely compared to what she had been like when they’d first met. Most of her stress and anger had dwindled significantly, even if she kept up her abrasive personality around other people. It was simply normal for her to do so.
After several long seconds of silence, Carmen opened her eyes and looked up at Agito, smiling. “Where are we going to first?” she asked as if reading his mind. However, she had simply been thinking the same thing he had been in that instant. “I’ve never been out of the country. Been to just about every state in the country, though. Between moving with the families and being switched to different families, I’ve been around,” she commented conversationally. It was easy to believe that if anyone who had known her before saw her there on the bench with Agito, smiling and looking. . . well, happy, they probably wouldn’t have even recognized her. The subtle physical changes she’d undergone when becoming a vampire probably wouldn’t help, either, but they weren’t that different. Unlike Agito, Carmen could see herself in the mirror. She was half human, after all, and not all of the myths were true.

Agito listened to her intently as she spoke about constantly moving between families. He was going to make a joke about her at least being well traveled, but decided it would probably be in bad taste considering what sort of situation that was. Knowing Carmen however that probably wouldn't matter or even phase her in the least. It was getting late or rather early. The horizon was already taking on a light blue hue indicating the approaching sun. Agito stood up and indicated towards it. "Looks like an unwanted visitor approaches...shall we depart?" he asked as he extended a hand to help her up. Once she was standing he kept her hand in his grasp and began the walk back to the loft which was fortunately just a block away.
"I'll make arrangements to leave this weekend. We should visit my home first. There is something there That I would like for you to have." Agito stated. He wasn't particularly keen on returning to that place. After all there may have been a survivor, and that would be annoying to deal with. Maybe he wouldn't take her there. Perhaps he would go there himself and retrieve the item of concern then bring it to her. That would be the saver way. He wasn't much for playing it safe though. Japan would be their first stop.

Agito stood after a moment and Carmen looked out over the park and saw that the sky was lightening, indicating the onset of a new day. “Looks like an unwanted visitor approaches. . . shall we depart?” he asked as Carmen took his hand and allowed him to pull her out of her seat. “We have no real choice, do we?” she commented off-handedly as they began to walk. She swung her hand slightly with his in it. The walk wouldn’t be that long, but Carmen was glad to be out of the loft for a while. She hadn’t been lying when she told Agito that he had disrupted her exercise patterns. . . before she met him, she was always out and had never stayed in. For the first few weeks she had avoided Agito like the plague when they weren’t training or whatever, but as they had spent a bit more time together she had wanted to be around him a little more and a little more each week. Carmen wasn’t devoid of all emotions, after all. Just because she wasn’t afraid of being alone all her life didn’t mean she wanted to be. She had simply never met someone who had wanted to be around her for more than five minutes. People fell hard for their first crushes, didn’t they?
Of course, Carmen liked to think this of more than just a crush. “I'll make arrangements to leave this weekend. We should visit my home first. There is something there That I would like for you to have,” Agito said as they grew closer to their destination. Carmen tilted her head and looked at him with a mocking smile. “Oh is that so? What you gonna give me? Or is it a surprise?” she asked him, squeezing his hand slightly. It was a tad surprising as she didn’t think Agito particularly wanted to go to Japan, but she would like to see it. What was the point of being mostly fluent in Japanese if she never went to Japan and used it? Of course, it wasn’t exactly a common language so if they ever collaborated on anything, it would be easier for them to communicate without many other people knowing what they were talking about. They could speak to each other and their enemies wouldn’t know what was going on. After they reached the loft, Carmen headed toward the stairs, expecting Agito to want to take them.

Following Carmen towards the stairs Agito smirked. She was making compromises for him now. This surely was not the same person he had met all those months ago, but she hadn't really changed had she? He had seen how she interacted with the waitress at the restaurant. That was classic Carmen the one that he was familiar with from the beginning. So the stairs weren't the only thing she was compromising for him. When they got the door to the loft Agito unlocked it and opened it courtly so that Carmen may enter. After she was inside Agito followed suit, closing the door behind him. He quickly closed all the window shutters. To make sure no sunlight could get into the loft. It was a dangerous thing that sun.
Once the shutters were secured Agito sighed and plopped down on the couch. "Well the night didn't go as planned but, could have been worse" he stated as he gazed over at Carmen. "and yes it is a surprise" he stated with a smirk. It wasn't so much a secret as he wasn't sure if what he wanted to give her should really be considered a gift. Oh well if she didn't like it then she simply didn't like it. It wasn't that kinda gift anyway.
