The large aircraft sitting in one of the few private hangers at JFK had the curious vampire completely in awe. Agito had never been on a plane before. Much less one this luxurious. It was a Boeing Business Jet 3, and much like their loft it was modified to accommodate passengers that could not handle the day light. Agito stepped onto the plane and was greeted by the two captains and 3 stewardesses. All 5 were were wolves. A pack that had found this to be a lucrative way to bolster their bank accounts. They treated everyone the same as long as they could pay the cost. Whether they were vampires, or the occasional were, or human didn't matter though the plain was modified more to accommodate vampires. Since weres and humans could travel by normal means typically.
Agito looked far towards the back of the plane. The cabins was huge! It measured 107.3 feet long , 11.7 feet wide and 7.1 feet tall. To get an idea of the size of this cabin, it can seat sixty passengers in a high-density configuration. However, it is optimized for eight passengers, giving them plenty of extra space. The lavish interior features lounges, distinctive conference areas, a large lavatory with a shower, and comfortable sleeping accommodations. Long missions utilize a separate relief crew lounge. With a total cabin volume of 1,119 cubic feet, this aircraft gives most apartments a run for their money. Agito was shown to his seat. The windows were clear, and easy to see through at night, but during the day they tinted so dark that if the interior lights didn't activate the cabin would be pitch black.
The stewardess took Agito's bag and secured it. He insisted that his sword stay with him and she nodded, then headed back to speak with the rest of her pack. Agito looked through the window and wondered how long Carmen would be. He had left earlier because he had to get a few things taken care of before this trip. He wondered if anyone else was gonna be on this flight too. If they were he hoped they would be interesting to talk to. Maybe they would have some information that he didn't that would be nice wouldn't it? The pilot said that they would be leaving at exactly 9pm. He was hoping to have a full flight but he wasn't expecting it. The flight would be 15 hours meaning though it would be noon here in new york on Saturday morning. It would actually be 2 am Sunday morning in Tokyo. Losing them an entire day because of time zones. At least it would be dark. He would hate to have to wait for night fall on the plane.
Agito wondered what as taking Carmen. She wasn't one to spend long amounts of time working on her looks. He secretly hoped that she didn't get into trouble. If she didn't make it here in time he would have to cancel the trip. This was not a cheap thing to do to begin with because of all the red tape that needed to be circumvented in order for this unregistered business jet to operate the way that it did. Agito leaned back in the large and very comfortable chair and hit the massage button. He smiled enjoying the feeling as he waited. Looking at the clock it was 8:35. Hopefully Carmen and whoever else was supposed to be taking this flight would be here soon.

CARMEN LYNN SYKES → WHAT HAPPENED TO MISS INDEPENDENT'S NO LONGER NEED TO BE DEFENSIVEMISS INDEPENDENT MISS SELF-SUFFICIENT MISS KEEP YOUR DISTANCE MISS UNAFRAID ← To say that Carmen wasn’t excited for this trip was a lie, but she could have fooled anyone. Carmen had never been out of the country before, and now she was going to Japan with the vampire that she might just love. She definitely liked him a whole lot. She hadn’t ever liked someone like this before, and she had a hard time deciding if it was real or just a crush. He’d left early despite her wanting to go with him, so she was at the loft for now, making sure that everything was locked up and she had everything she would need for the long flight over there. By the sounds of it, this jet was going to be much better than those public flights. . . less people, more room, and no crying babies. Just her and Agito and whatever staff happens to be there. Apparently there were going to be werewolves on this flight, but they were just pilots and stewardesses and whatnot. Nothing too dangerous or anything. Agito had warned her a head of time to make sure she wasn’t surprised, though she probably wouldn’t have cared either way. She had met a werewolf once and he had helped her take out a group of people who had tried to hurt her.
Carmen was rather irritated that Agito had left her to find her own way to the airport where they would be taking off, and she walked out of the loft, having called a taxi before she’d locked up the loft for their long trip. She only had one suitcase, not having need for much else. She didn’t have a whole lot of clothes anyway. Didn’t need to. That was what doing laundry was for, after all. The cabbie popped the trunk for her and Carmen tossed her case in the storage compartment with ease before getting into the back. It was common knowledge that cab drivers didn’t like it when people sat in the passenger’s side. Carmen had no issues with where she sat in a car. Getting comfortable, she told the cabbie where to go and he was off and driving. If Agito didn’t like her coming in a cab, he shouldn’t have made her come by herself. Besides, it was just a cab driver. Agito was too paranoid sometimes. Skitzo.
Che cab drive was long. Too long for Carmen’s liking. Even at two in the morning there was still a crap-ton of people out and about and they were congesting the roads and making it harder for the cab to get there. Carmen paid little attention to the time, knowing that she had left with plenty of time to spare. However, they reached the airport finally. Carmen handed over some bills of money she’d been given by Agito and then got out to get her stuff. A werewolf appeared by the car, and had Carmen been anyone else, they would have startled her. The woman offered to take Carmen’s suit case. Shrugging, the young vampire handed it over to be loaded. She didn’t have anything in there that she wanted, and it would be easier to relax without having to worry about content shifting during flight. The young vampire followed the lycan toward the plane, and Carmen couldn’t help but be a bit skeptical as she looked at it. Could they really have this whole plane to themselves? Agito had said there had been a chance that more people might show up. . . .
Ms. Werewolf moved to the cargo bay and Carmen separated to go up the stairs to the door. It was a fairly steep incline, and she hated stairs so much. However, she made it up and stepped inside, looking around the interior. Spacious. Comfortable. Cozy. Mm. She was going to like flying now. She’d been on a plane once or twice before—always flying coach—and it had always been cramped and noisy and uncomfortable. Already she was looking even more forward to this trip. Ahead, she spotted her friend and walked down the wide aisle until she reached him, sitting herself down in the seat next to him and greeting him with a smile, though she kept her hands—and well, all of her—to herself as she sat, still irate from being left behind. It had just made more sense for her to go with him! “Thanks so much for leaving me. I know I’m a big girl, but driving in a cab alone just isn’t my idea of a good time. I’m very glad that we might have this whole thing to ourselves, though. When do we take off?” she asked, getting comfortable and putting her feet up, slouching way low in her seat.

After a few minutes of sitting on the plane Anja, the stewardess that had shown him to his seat returned to inform him of the time. Agito simply nodded without response. The girl made her way back to the group near the front of the jet and continued chatting away. Agito hoped Carmen arrived soon, there was no way he could get a refund if she didn't. Agito though he was a prince didn't have some amassed fortune somewhere. His clan dealt in information, which at many times was worth more than any given amount of money. That was how he had secured the seats on this flight. He simply offered valuable information about a certain individual. Information that was worth much more than the cost of a simply luxury flight to Tokyo. No the information he had given the pack had payed for this entire around the world endeavor that he and Carmen where embarking on.
A cab pulling into the hanger caught Agito's attention. He was relieved to see Carmen step out of it. He turned to look at the clock. It was 8:51, he smirked at the sight. "9 minutes spare" he stated to himself as he saw Carmen appear at the front of the plane. The wolves greeted her cheerfully. There was no difference to them who there customers where as long as they payed, and didn't cause trouble. When Carmen finally sat down besides him he gave her a wide grin. "Cutting it a little close aren't we?" Agito asked with a teasing tone. It did seem very likely that no one else would be flying with them. Which was fine with Agito, but the pack would wait until exactly 9pm to even fire up the engines. They wouldn't risk losing any business by leaving early.
Finally the pack took there spots and the pilots voice came clearly over the speakers. He explained the only rule of the flight, which was simply violence would not be tolerated. Since there were no other passengers that wouldn't be an issue of course. He went on to state that any damage to the jet would be paid for by the person that caused said damages; Ending that note with the traditional we can find you anywhere spew that wolves were so keen on because of their amazing senses and ability to track. Finally at 9:01 pm, the engines whirred to life. The jet rolled slowly out of the hanger and was positioned on the runway. The engines whirred louder as they gained power, and the jet began to roll forward slowly at fight but quickly picking up speed.
With a sudden jolt the jet lifted off of the ground and began to ascend towards the clouds above. After about 10 minutes Anja came by and informed them that they had reached cruising altitude, and that they could feel free to treat the jet as their home. Which of course meant they could walk around and explore the different facilities. Agito nodded but kept his attention on what was going on outside his window. He had never flown before and was completely enthralled by the beauty of the city from this altitude. It reminder his of Carmen. Beautiful, but with a strong tough side that you didn't want to be on the receiving end of. Agito wondered if the feeling he had was the feeling that birds had when they flew. He longed to feel the air around him, perhaps he would take up sky diving once they got done with their trip.

CARMEN LYNN SYKES → WHAT HAPPENED TO MISS INDEPENDENT'S NO LONGER NEED TO BE DEFENSIVEMISS INDEPENDENT MISS SELF-SUFFICIENT MISS KEEP YOUR DISTANCE MISS UNAFRAID ← “Cutting it a little close aren't we?” Agito commented teasingly. Carmen just rolled her eyes and grabbed a magazine-looking thing from the seat and started to flick through it. Nothing interesting, so she tossed it back where she found it and then looked back at her companion, eyebrows raised. “Traffic was hell. Besides, if you had just brought me along in the first place I wouldn’t have had to have been late!” she replied a little sourly before rolling her eyes and turning in her seat. It seemed that they were about ready to lift off, but Carmen wasn’t about to put her seatbelt on. Fuck that. They were uncomfortable. However, she wasn’t going to get up and walk around, either. Though she figured that there wasn’t too much of an issue with it, the incline would make it a little difficult to walk around. But it wasn’t like if the plane exploded or something she would be saved because she was in her seat with her belt on and the tray up and her seat in the upright and locked position. . . . Though it had seemed good enough to save Weird Al in that song Albuquerque.
When the plane leveled off, Carmen leaned over Agito to peer out the window. Clouds. Clouds. Gap in the clouds. Patches of different colored land. More clouds. Yup. They were in the air. It wasn’t something Carmen was very interested about, as she had been through plane rides thousands of times before—give or take—but Agito seemed fairly enthralled with it. Awesome. Carmen pulled away from the window and started to flick through the different reading material, looking for maybe some features of the plane or whatever. “Is there going to be a movie on this thing? And there better not be a pole that just drops from the ceiling like in that Iron Man movie. . . . Slug someone. . . ,” Carmen muttered to herself more than she did to Agito, thinking aloud. She didn’t find what she was looking for and sat back in her seat, highly agitated. She didn’t particularly enjoy air planes. She wasn’t afraid of crashing—she couldn’t be—she just didn’t like it. She’d never had good experiences, and for the next fifteen hours she had no choice but to sit around and do nothing.

Agito nodded at her question about the movie. He hit a button on the handle of his chair and a large flat screen folded down from the roof. Anja hurried over, and held out an expensive looking remote to Carmen. She explained that they had access to over 2000 channels at any given time depending on which part of the globe they were currently flying through. Agito turned his attention back to the clouds for a moment before looking back to Carmen. "Near the back of the plane there's a bedroom, with a king sized bed, and also a large bathroom with a steam shower." He stated. Agito had never taken a steam shower before, but Anja hand assured him earlier that they were very refreshing. He intended to try it at least once before they finally ended up back in new york.
Finally Agito sighed "I'm sorry for leaving you behind...there was the small issue of payment for this trip....I didn't want you to get caught up in the intricacies of it. Just try to enjoy yourself...okay?" it was a pretty good apology especially coming from Agito; whom had never apologized for anything in his life prior to meeting Carmen. Returning his attention to the clouds; Agito almost sighed. They were losing there appeal. and it had only been a few minutes. He stood up, and walked towards the back of the plane. Sight seeing, he scoffed at the idea, but that was practically what he was doing. the Jet was large enough to hold tons of interesting things. There was even a pair of massage chairs. Agito climbed into one, and got comfortable as he fiddled with the settings trying to find the one that felt the very best.

CARMEN LYNN SYKES → WHAT HAPPENED TO MISS INDEPENDENT'S NO LONGER NEED TO BE DEFENSIVEMISS INDEPENDENT MISS SELF-SUFFICIENT MISS KEEP YOUR DISTANCE MISS UNAFRAID ← Okay. So there was a movie. Or, well, a TV. One of the little werewolves scurried over and handed her the remote, then went on some rant about how many channels they had. Carmen stared at the remote and then the giant ass screen that had descended from the ceiling. At least it wasn’t a stripper pole. Carmen sighed. More television. At least it was better than nothing. She turned on the TV and started to flick through the channels. How many channels had the wolf said? 2000? Who the hell needed 2000 thousand channels? Sighing, Carmen turned on the guide and started to scroll through what all they had. Movie channels. . . regular channels. . . foreign channels. . . . they better not show anything she didn’t understand. Sighing, she stopped on a channel that was playing the new Transformers movie. Better than nothing, and it wasn’t so over played that she was bored of it already. In fact, it wasn’t even on regular channels yet. Good enough. She leaned in her seats and started to think about food, but Agito spoke to her.
“I'm sorry for leaving you behind...there was the small issue of payment for this trip....I didn't want you to get caught up in the intricacies of it. Just try to enjoy yourself...okay?” he requested. She looked over at him, and then rolled her eyes slightly and went back to watching the movie and trying to decide if she was hungry or not. “So long as you have a reason,” she muttered irately. It wasn’t so much him as it was just the fact that she was on a plane. And had to drive in a taxi. Bah. Focus on the movie. Carmen had never really liked planes. This was a lot better than the commercial flights. Agito got up and Carmen watched him leave, then she turned in her seat and put her feet up on Agito chair, then looked out into the aisle. That werewolf chick was making her way down. “Pillow, please,” Carmen muttered loudly enough for her to hear. The werewolf immediately grabbed one for her and handed it to her, asking if she wanted a blanket as well. Carmen just shook her head and put the pillow behind her so she wasn’t leaning against the hard arm.

The massage chair was amazing. Agito was certain he would spend most of his air time sitting right here where he was. He looked over at the empty massage chair besides him. Carmen wasn't in it. She was angry with him again. This relationship thing was complicated. It was a lot easier when his only interest in women was how good they were in bed. Ever since he confessed his feelings...things had just been odd. It seemed like no matter what he did, it always ended with her being mad at him. He wasn't sure if it was something that came specifically with relationships, or if it was unique to them. He had never been in an actually relationship before. He couldn't be bothered with it. Commitment to someone else. That was probably the most unfamiliar part. Agito closed his eyes and concentrated on the massage. This was his first time on a plane. He wasn't about to let Carmen's unwarranted attitude spoil it for him.
After a few minutes, he hit the switch to turn off the chair and stood up. His body felt all loose and relaxed it was an interesting feeling. He made his way slowly to the back of the the plane. Finally he arrived at the bathroom and of course the steam shower. "Sweet" he muttered to himself as he stepped inside of the large bathroom and shut the door. He neglected to lock it, cause after all only The Wolves, Carmen, and himself where on this plane, and if not anything else the wolves were at the very least trust worthy. He removed his clothing, and stepped into the shower. He hit a few buttons on the panel, and steam began to shoot from the many shower heads. Upon further inspection Agito noticed there was a spot to sit down where little rubber balls rotated on the wall to give you a back massage. He decided he'd try em later. Right now the steam shower sensation was pretty decent. He'd suggest it to Carmen whenever she became a tad more sociable.

The timer on the steam shower beeped indicating that the cycle was over, then the steam slowly dissipated. Agito climbed out of the shower and found his towel. It was more like he was covered with a thin layer of moisture than actually being wet, so drying off only took a few moments. Agito got dressed, and made his way out of the bathroom. He noticed Carmen was laying on the bed and wondered how long she'd been there. He was gonna leave the room, and let her be, but the flight was gonna be long. There were the wolves, but she'd prolly get kinda angry if she caught him getting all chummy with one of the women. He'd rather avoid that, and he wasn't very good getting along with other males. It was a dominance thing prolly. Agito sat on the edge of the bed and leaned in a bit. He began to massage Carmen's shoulders and back. "The shower is kinda cool, if you were in here you shoulda joined me....or are you still angry?" he asked curiously as he hands skillfully tracked, found, and worked out kinks.

CARMEN LYNN SYKES → WHAT HAPPENED TO MISS INDEPENDENT'S NO LONGER NEED TO BE DEFENSIVEMISS INDEPENDENT MISS SELF-SUFFICIENT MISS KEEP YOUR DISTANCE MISS UNAFRAID ← How long was this damn flight? Like fifteen hours of pure torture? And then Agito had said something about losing a day. Well, that was what crossing the international dateline did, wasn’t it? Whatever. It was still stupid. Carmen couldn’t believe she had allowed Agito to talk her into taking a fifteen or what-the-fuck-ever long flight, but somehow it had happened. It was hard to tell who was whipped and who wasn’t in this relationship sometimes. For a few minutes Carmen had dozed off, lying on her stomach on that big fluffy bed of comfiness. Her bed back at the loft wasn’t as nice as this was. How rude. She let out a low sigh, and ignored Agito as he came walking into the room, her eyes still closed as she took a little cat nap. She didn’t flinch or even act surprised when his hands found her, kneading and massaging her shoulders and back. Carmen sighed slightly and folded her hands up by her head, pillowing her skull on the back of her hands, looking over at Agito. “The shower is kinda cool, if you were in here you shoulda joined me. . . or are you still angry?” he asked her, still massaging her muscles. Carmen closed her eyes and sighed. “I’m not angry, Agito. . . not really. Not anymore than I usually am. . . I just really hate flying. It’s just always annoyed me.”

Agito nodded at her response, and kept massaging. He worked his hands down to her lower back and concentrated there for a while. He wasn't sure why he was doing this. He did have strong feelings for Carmen, perhaps he even loved her. He didn't believe in love however. He saw it in so many movies, and on TV, but love seemed to mean many things. He was raised in a world where your significant other, and even your children could one day take your life. Was that not what he had done? He killed his father, just like his father had done before him, and his father before him, dating back as far as clan existed. It was the duty of the prince to take the thrown by draining his father of blood, and with it absorbing his power and the knowledge of all those who's blood had been drained through the generations. Thing is Agito was different the the others. The old man had told him that he was something else entirely. Not a vampire, but simply something that should not exist. He remembered the old man's words clearly, as he and most of the clan's blood now flowed through Agito's veins.
Agito realized that he was massaging a bit harder than necessary, and stopped. "Well this is a trip around the world remember? There gonna be many days accumulated on this jet, better get used to it....or would you rather go back to New York?" he asked curiously, but and answer wasn't needed. He already knew the answer. Carmen would have to endure the jet, she wanted to see the world as much as he did. Even if it were for different reasons. He wasn't sorry about having her meet him at the jet, and taking a boat would have taken years to see all the places that he wanted to see. Hell it had taken two weeks by boat to get from japan to New York. compared to that fifteen hours was nothing. Agito lay on his back besides Carmen and looked up at the ceiling. "I only went ahead without you because I had to pay for the jet. Information can be priceless at times, and very dangerous. There are things that I know that you can't ever for your safety. This was one of those things." he stated before closing his eyes enjoying the feel of the bed. Perhaps when they finally got back to New York he'd actually sleep in his....or better yet hers.

CARMEN LYNN SYKES → WHAT HAPPENED TO MISS INDEPENDENT'S NO LONGER NEED TO BE DEFENSIVEMISS INDEPENDENT MISS SELF-SUFFICIENT MISS KEEP YOUR DISTANCE MISS UNAFRAID ← Eyes closed, Carmen lied there and let Agito have at the kinks in her back. It felt nice and he wasn’t half bad at it. She really wasn’t sure that she had ever gotten a massage—in fact, she never really let anyone touch her so she actually never had one—but this was extremely relaxing. Probably should have one more often. The young vampire remained quiet, Agito’s massage working her into a snooze. If his only goal was to lull her into a false sense of security and then kill her or something, he wasn’t doing a half bad job at it. Carmen was naturally a suspicious person, so it was unlikely that even if they were together for hundreds of years, she would never fully come to trust him. It was just in her nature to be suspicious of everyone—some sort of fail-safe since she couldn’t fear. She’d be damned to let herself be caught off-guard. However, that didn’t mean she couldn’t enjoy Agito’s company, and she surely did. Agito’s hands started to press a little hard into her lower back and Carmen opened her eyes and looked up at him. “I’m not that stressed out, you know. . . ,” she muttered.
“Well this is a trip around the world remember? There gonna be many days accumulated on this jet, better get used to it. . . . Or would you rather go back to New York?” he retorted semi-rhetorically. Carmen wasn’t sure what kind of tone he was trying to use, but she just snorted and lied her head back down on the pillow, letting that be her answer. He probably knew what it was, anyway. If she had wanted to go back to New York, she wouldn’t have gotten on the plane with him in the first place or she would be incredibly loud about it. “I only went ahead without you because I had to pay for the jet. Information can be priceless at times, and very dangerous. There are things that I know that you can't ever for your safety. This was one of those things.” Carmen turned her head to look at Agito and graciously made a bit more room for him on the bed when he lied by her. Rolling her eyes, she turned on her side to face him, propping herself up on her elbow. “I can take care of myself, you know. I don’t need you to look after me. I can handle whatever you or your enemies or whatever the fuck can bring. I don’t need your protection,” she huffed icily, turning to lie on her stomach, again, her head turned away from him.

With a sigh Agito rolled onto his side, his back facing Carmen and closed his eyes. She had a bad habit of unintentionally irritating him. He tried to keep it to himself most of the time because he knew that she didn't mean it, but sometimes he did feel like just choking the life out of her for being so naive. Yea she was strong, but strength meant nothing if you had a single weakness that could be exploited. Vampires by nature were always plagued by this simple fact. Agito opened his eyes and rolled over to his other side so that he was facing Carmen instead. He propped himself on his elbow and used his free hand to forcibly turn her over until she was facing him. Then without thinking about the consequences Agito pressed his lips firmly against her's. At least now if there was gonna be friction between them there would be a decent reason for it.Or maybe this would lead to some "friction" between them who knew?

CARMEN LYNN SYKES → WHAT HAPPENED TO MISS INDEPENDENT'S NO LONGER NEED TO BE DEFENSIVEMISS INDEPENDENT MISS SELF-SUFFICIENT MISS KEEP YOUR DISTANCE MISS UNAFRAID ← He didn’t respond to her, but that sigh signified that he wasn’t particularly happy with her. She didn’t doubt it was because he was a guy and for some reason men felt some undying need to protect their women. But Carmen was a very independent woman and she didn’t need him. She wanted him, and that should be better than nothing. She’d never needed to be protected by anyone and that wasn’t going to change just because he thought he had to be all super boyfriend. Ignoring him the best she could, she decided that he could just be irritated with her if that’s what he wanted: Carmen was just as irritated with him. No matter how much she actually liked being around him, he sure could be a great big ass sometimes. She was no walk in the park of course. But at least she knew what a pain in the ass she could be. Carmen didn’t think Agito knew how big of a pain in the ass he could be.
Despite her being upset with him, she didn’t really fight too hard when he started to push her over on her side and pull her closer. Groaning, she didn’t let him do it too easily, either. She flopped over onto her side like a wet rag and muttered something close to “What do you want now?” before she was silenced by his lips. Carmen rolled her eyes slightly, but didn’t stop it. Was this how guys tried to make things better? Well, she’d see how it worked. Had he done this a couple months ago he probably would have gotten punched in the ear. But that wasn’t the case, and she lifted a hand to his cheek, returning his kiss. He was the reason she was here in the first place. . . . She might as well get as much of him as she could. Pulling away slightly, she smiled at him, their faces only centimeters apart. “Well, having you here is going to make these plane rides a lot more bearable,” she commented cheekily.

Wrapping his arms around Carmen Agito smiled broadly. He was used to Carmen's moods by this point. He had fallen for her knowing full well what she was like. He leaned in, kissing her deeply before cutting it short to speak. "Well they tell me this is nothing like being on a normal flight...i dunno if that's good or bad though...this being my first flight and all." he stated before pressing his lips against her once more. He sighed contently as he sat up and made his way over to the window and peered out. He could see nothing but darkness below, not a single light which probably meant they were out over the ocean somewhere. Agito returned to the bed, and sat at the edge, leaning back against Carmen. "I know that you don't need protecting....I've worked hard to make sure that you don't, but that doesn't mean that I won't protect you anyway" He stated as he reached back with his hand to gently stroke her hair.
